Best Diners in Boston | Eater Boston

"This beauty in a classic silver dining car in Revere is a trip down memory lane — and also a quick jaunt to Colombia. Along with quintessential diner fare (breakfast combos, a ton of omelets, a handful of sandwiches), Suegra’s also serves Colombian fast food like wings, fried hot dogs, and burgers. Plus, the arepa desmechada (a corn cake served with shredded beef or chicken, plus cheese, a ton of sauces, and chip crumbles) might be worth a flight back here." - Nathan Tavares

Google
We got to our hotel after 10+ hours of flying, and we were looking for something quick and easy. It was an easy walk from our hotel. The staff was friendly and prompt. The food was really good. I got a Cuban chicken sandwich, and my spouse got the Pataberguer. Both were delicious. The crinkle cut fries were clearly cooked differently than I have ever had them, as they were soft inside while having a crunchy exterior. They were also seasoned well. Great meal!

Google

Google
First time here, got to see outside and it was nice. For a group of 5 or more it’s best to seat outside, it’s warm. I ordered the avocado and tomato Benedict’, it was delicious! My brother and sister ate the arepa burgers and they also enjoyed it.

Small diner we had breakfast at. Have been in th3 business as a multi-unit manager for many years. This place is immaculately clean, super friendly staff, and the food is delicious! Highly recommend the homemade corned beef hash with eggs.

Google
This place is absolutely disgusting. I don’t have high expectations in Revere and I can’t remember the last time I took time to write a bad review. I feel like the people who are ordering deliveries should know this. In a span of less than 10 minutes on Sunday 3.30.25 around 10 pm - I watched the cook making delivery orders pick a scab on his arm while waiting for the burgers to cook. The short waitress with black hair ignored the two delivery drivers who waited patiently and painfully for her attention. She walked behind the counter, put cash away from a paid check, and started putting fries in the to go boxes with her bare hands. I’m sure the food is delicious - all these reviews can’t be wrong. You have an immune system, you’re a tank. You’ll be fine. I think it was just a slow night and no one was making any money, the cooks were stoned and bored out of their minds. Plus they all looked like kids. The short waitress was so upset about something - I think she was just trying to sabotage the night for entertainment. You can do better for yourself for a late night meal around Revere.

Google
Absolutely delicious, amazing food!! And, a great staff including the kind owner. Very familia oriented, which is great! They chefs were so awesome. 110% recommend. We will be back. 😊😉

Google
We checked out of our hotel and made a pit stop here undecisive whether breakfast or lunch would do. We are from Jersey, so Hispanic comfort food is common for us! We ordered their Patacon de Carne & chicken... Delicious!!! We also ordered a Cuban sandwich and eggs w/bacon and orange juice for the toddler. It was a win win for all us. We left very satisfied with our dish choices and felt welcomed by the staff. The bathroom was superb clean and don't let this tiny diner outer appearance scare you away... They were in the midst of some roof renovation. It's located off the side of an industrial road. Would definitely go back if I were in the area again.

Google
Very friendly staff and good diner food! I believe it is Columbian influenced, and the dishes were fairly unique compared to a "regular" American diner. The fresh-pressrd orange juice is really good, and their French toast with real maple syrup were as good as it gets. I had a "funky" mixed plate that was too large of a portion haha, but really tasty. Not sure if the patio will remain open with the cooler weather but really nice to sit outside too.

Yelp
My wife and I used to love airport diner but over the years it just feels like it's lost its touch. It could be the business from Uber eats/etc but we still came back here recently to see if the new ownership made any changes. The menu is still the same and nothing has changed inside. They do have an outdoor seating area and I wonder if that was a good idea now that they need servers inside and outside. It took us 10 minutes to get coffee and waters after we were seated and the place was not even full...:( I still enjoyed my breakfast but not sure how much we will come back given the recent slide downhill.

Yelp
Cute diner near the airport! It serves a fusion between American breakfast & Columbian comfort food, which is what makes this place so special. We got coffee, the chicharron with arepas, veggie omelette (added bacon), and tomato/avocado eggs Benedict. Since I can't really have English muffins (dietary restriction), they replaced the English muffin with arepas per my request. I'd recommend everything we ordered. Staff is super accommodating and welcoming. I think the staff has a shared playlist because the music was completely random and I loved the inconsistency - it made me happy that everyone got their music preferences in. They have menu specials written on a chalkboard. They have booth and counter seating. They also have limited parking available. I love a good diner, and this is probably one of the best I've been to in the Boston area.

Yelp
Stopped in here after an airport dropoff. Super clean and nicely redesigned classic diner. Food was excellent and service was prompt.

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving this place one star is because the can of Coke was OK, worst burger I've ever had wanted it medium well came out wet and medium. Rare must've been a frozen burger to be so soggy Fried egg was like leather waitress didn't ask how anything was I had to get up and beg to leave practically I come here for breakfast and that's pretty decent, but I'll never come back here for dinner

Yelp
First time there and very disappointed after hearing good things. Ordered the corbed beef hash which was completely overcooked, Almost like burnt, and the home fries had no flavor in. Food was notvhot at all, Send my plate back and while reheated, the food just wasn't good. I wouldn't go back there
google avatar

Yelp
A typical diner kind of food. Nothing really special but a pretty cute place in my opinion. Great services. We got corn beef hash and it was alright. Prob opt in for typical breakfast/brunch food. They do serve lunch with unique Colombian-style dishes. It's great that this place opens till 4 am. Perfect for all-nighters

Yelp
Place used to be good, but since they changed the name I've been there 3 times and the service and food has gotten worse each time. Last night was the last time I was there and I won't be back. Servers don't listen to what you order, then when they bring something not even close to what you ordered they get upset and rude. Then when they bring the correct stuff it is terrible. My home fries we're mostly inedible bits that must have been sitting on the grill all day and instead of throwing it away, they served it to me. The cream cheese on my bagel tasted more like sour cream. I ordered a ham steak and all I got were 2 tiny sliced squares of ham, not even exaggerating but both pieces combined was less meat than a slice of bacon. Plus it tasted awful. There was one other booth occupied, but the server was too busy on her phone to even bring the check or ask how anything was. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. I wish i went to McDonalds instead. What kind of diner can't even serve decent bagels, hamsteaks, bacon, and hoke fries? Yeah, i got bacon too and it was the best out of all 4 items, but it still wasnt good.

Yelp
Ambiance was perfect, just like a fun diner. Food was hot, came out fast and was delish. Server kept the coffee coming.

Yelp
We ordered breakfast meals and the pork chop Milanese - everything was terrific. My kids had the Mickey Mouse pancakes , which they made with blueberry eyes and and second pancake for the belly/body. They loved it. I had the Suffolk special with awesome Nutella/ricotta French toast. My husbands Milanese was so good with the plantains. The service here is also so good - super friendly and happy. We're coming back!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to eating here after I read their menu. We went in for a Sunday brunch. It wasn't too busy and we had parking. We ordered the Nutella stuffed French toast, Irish Benedict, and breakfast bowl. The French toast was really good. The bene was alright, just felt it was missing something. My cousin liked the breakfast bowl. I have to say I wasn't disappointed about the food, but mostly the customer service. I usually rate places for the food but this one deserves to be rated to account for the terrible customer service. First the staff just seemed like they were in a hurry and rushing to take orders. The one thing that got me was when my cousin had orange juice in her cup but then we asked for water for her. One of the waitresses poured the water in the glass swooshed it around to clean it and then offered us the water in the dirty orange juice glass. I've never seen anything like this at an establishment. Then, it comes time for our check and she did not bring it out. Took my card and then brought back the check with the wrong charges on it after charging my card. Then said don't worry we fixed it. I doubt I'll be going back there but if you do, I hope your experience is better then ours.

Yelp
Convenient to park, they have lots of spots available around. We shared the Nutella french toasts and had egg Benedict and breakfast bowl. Service was fast and warm. The kitchen is open style. The food was ok.

Yelp
The guy working the front desk seems like he's high out of his mind . Got the weirdest vibe from this place .

Yelp
TLDR: Affordable plates, but not very good, and comes with a wait. We came for a late brunch on a weekend. The wait for our food was pretty long considering we only ordered one thing each and it wasn't super busy. My partner ordered a sausage/egg sandwich with a side of home fries, and I ordered the fruit french toast. He said the sandwich was worse than a frozen Jimmy Dean. My french toast was fine, but pretty unseasoned (could have used cinnamon/vanilla). The fruit seemed fresh. The "home fries" were absolutely inedible. The potatoes were undercooked (actually raw in some areas) with zero seasoning (not even salt or pepper!). We added salt & pepper from the table but they were still inedible. Service was fine, we didn't know our server's name but she did check on us. Overall, wouldn't come again. Bummer!

Yelp
GOD AWFUL SERVICE..... very slow and $15 for a salad that is SMALL with WAAAY over cooked meat!!!! Save your money and go elsewhere!

Valerie J.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent! The chorizo was home made, with chunks of fresh pork in it; it's like no chorizo I've ever had. I had breakfast and opted to not have the home fries, they offered a bowl of fresh fruit in its place, which is unheard of!!! Even the fruit was fresh and delicious! Breakfast was excellent. I can't say enough about the quality and freshness of the food. I am happy I discovered this little hole in the wall and will definitely become a "regular"! I highly recommend giving Airport Diner a try!!

Yelp
This is a nice little diner and convenient to a number of the airport hotels in Revere. I was surprised to see that I was the only customer on a weekday morning around 9:30am, but happy to get served quickly as I had a long day of travel ahead. They've got limited dine-in seating which is all separated by plexiglass, hand sanitizer to use on the counter, and the staff were wearing masks. Their breakfast menu is fairly traditional diner style items. I noticed they've got a decent selection of Colombian food on the back of the menu, but those dishes seemed more geared towards lunch. The meat lovers omelet was solid - the eggs weren't over cooked and it was stuffed with loads of diced ham, sausage, and cheese. It came with toast and hash browns, which were good as well. I also thought the coffee was above average and enjoyed a few cups. For me, I'd much rather have a proper breakfast at a restaurant like this before flying out than eat whatever the hotels are putting in their grab-and-go bags these days.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came on a weekend late morning for brunch. The restaurant is very small - there are only 5-6 tables - and it was very full. Luckily, a party left as we arrived so we were seated almost immediately. I ordered the Airport Special - 2 poached eggs, bacon, home fries, and 2 banana/chocolate chip pancakes. I mixed the eggs with the fries and it was DELICIOUS. After adding a bit of pepper and ketchup, I basically inhaled it. The bacon was delicious, as one would expect from bacon. The pancakes were really yummy as well! The waitress was very attentive and kind. I thought it was cute how she kept calling me "honey" and "sweetie," but I guess that's diner culture? Either way, I found it very endearing. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our food! I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
After years of having what I considered better options for a late morning breakfast in Revere, I have returned Airport Diner to its rightful spot to take tourists, before they depart town. The place was not always run as efficiently as it is now. My table was quickly wiped down, menus delivered, coffee/tea dispatched immediately. The music may now be Columbian, but it's kept at a low enough volume as to not overwhelm the classic diner experience. Sports and news seem to dominate the one television, with the sound down. I had the corned beef omelette with cheddar, home fries and choice of toast. It was honestly home made hash, well better than the four other diner style places that had or have corned beef hash. I liked that my toast was served with pats of butter, in case I didn't want to add it to the carb-fest. The smells of the food they were prepping were tempting. With two flat tops, four gas burners, and at least four making food (I even saw our waitperson jump in and flip an omelette), food was served hot, and didn't sit "in the window" for a second. This will be my breakfast spot, moving forward.

Yelp
This place exemplifies the best of classic American diners. Super tasty breakfast, classic old-timey inviting atmosphere, friendly service, bottomless coffee - and it's all inexpensive. This place stands out by having a selection of Colombian street food items (burgers and dogs), and later hours (most diners close after lunch service, this one is open till 11:30pm most nights). And they deliver on Uber Eats. I can't wait to come back for the perros!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went here for a late dinner on Saturday night. It was bright and clean, the staff was friendly and our burgers and fries were delicious. We'll back!

Yelp
It was late and we were starving. I remembered Airport Diner was open late. We got there sat down in front of where the grill is. The waitress immediately came upto us and informed us the would be closing soon. We told her we were aware of that but we were only going to order something simple and didn't even need a menu. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers and fries meals to go. One was plain and the other had ketchup and mayonnaise and the 3rd was just mayonnaise. They cooked them rather quickly and I saw the cook label them. He didn't make sure to label them correctly and when we got back to our spot I couldn't wait to eat it smelled so good. I opened my food box Tha was labeled plain and it had mayo all over it with some other orange sauce. I was so disappointed! We payed $52 plus a tip of $6 and I couldn't even enjoy my food.

Yelp
This place has the most amazing corn beef hash I've ever had. I also got Nutella French toast with bananas. The food came out quick and the prices were very reasonable. The waitstaff was friendly and treated us like we were family. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Boston area.
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
I ordered a veggie omelette and my omelette had a piece of hard wood or hard plastic in it...the woman on the phone when I called didn't seem to care either. Also, not only was there a piece of wood, but also a piece of ham and bean, obviously don't care about the other 2 - but just to be noted. And my omelette tasted bland.

Yelp
Love this place and the staff very friendly. Always happy with smiles ! Food is fabulous, never a bad dish. The old feel ambiance is nostalgic.

Yelp
I'm a longtime diner fan and this little gem did NOT disappoint! The location is kind of funky- a hard right off of America's Trashiest Highway - but do not be deceived! This place is the real deal. Tables, floors and countertops were immaculate, and the tile actually gleamed. Fairly standard breakfast fare with some interesting twists, cooked right behind the counter by some hard-working people. The home fries were excellent! I had the Airport Diner Special which covered all the bases for me as far as diner breakfasts go. Next time around, the stuffed French toast for sure. Came in after 8AM on a weekday morning and our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive, and this just added to the experience. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Quite possibly the worst diner I've ever been to in my life.... Why do all these short order cooks need to learn how to cook an omelet??? Firsrt of all when they start my omelet with a ladle of eggs from a gross looking bucket, you know things aren't going right....then cook all the goods on the side and stuff them in the over cooked eggs from the bucket.....yuk Worst breakfast ever!!! N 60 bucks for 4...trashy dump, dont go....
google avatar

Yelp
BEYOND GOOD! This place is the cutest little gem. Easily missed but once you try it you will not drive by without stopping for some DELICIOUS food. Servers are super pleasant, attentive and always open to giving recommendations. I have not had anything here that is not plate-licking good! Also do not leave without trying the BEST french toast EVER. The stuffed french toast filled with Ricotta and Fig jam will change how you look at french toast going forward. That breakfast bowl WAS EVERYTHING a breakfast brown should be; filled with chopped veggies, lots of cheese, avocado (who doesn't love avocado?), eggs, home fries and some grilled english muffins (get it grilled not toasted, life changing) BOMBTASTIC! Is it obvious I highly recommend this Diner?

MaryEsther E.

Yelp
What an amazing find! Being from California, we love to find small places with a friendly vibe and THIS IS IT!!! The staff is wonderful and the food is scrumptious! We came back twice during our trip! Definitely worth stopping and having some grub!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was super friendly. Surprising find! I'll be back for sure
google avatar

Bo F.

Yelp
As far as greasy spoons go, this was a good experience, quick service, reasonably clean and tasty with decent menu offerings. At breakfast I look for the steadfast faves, good hash, and breakfast meats, perfectly cooked eggs, and fresh fruit & coffee. Tight fit and intimate seating makes this place cozy but not particularly comfortable, but you would expect that before you walk in, ....as ..it is exactly ....as ..it looks on the inside as you'd expect. Orange juice could be fresh squeezed, coffee was good. Breakfast bowl seemed a great deal, we did omelets pancakes and fruit with sides of meats. No regrets, would visit again if in the area.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Excellent food. I had the burger with the coleslaw on it, delicious. The strawberry pancakes have full real strawberries. Fries are fresh and airy, not oily and soggy. Service was prompt and friendly (take out). Please support this long time local business.

Yelp
The 1930's called and they CAN'T have their diner back! Totally charming place with a counter, tables and even a wooden ceiling. The food is amazing and the staff friendly. Step back in time and give this place a try.

Yelp
visiting from out of state and thenfirst place we popped into! good fast customer service ! good coffee and OJ

Yelp
This is a hidden brunch place in Revere. Food is very delicious, feels like a local hometown breakfast place. The size of the steak maybe not on point but it tastes good. Homemade potato is tasty. Service is okay. We will definitely come back again.

Megan B.

Yelp
We came hungry and absolutely loved everything we ordered. Great little spot for a traditional diner meal! Would absolutely come back.

Talen C.

Yelp
Long wait and decent diner food There was nothing' special on the menu. It's a little bit expensive. My wife ordered an egg and toast and charged for a full breakfast

Quisie F.

Yelp
I threw up literally walking out the door Ordered a sausage egg n cheese thinking it would be a sausage pattie and behold came a brown n serve style on the go breakfast after eating this horrible thing staving literally I got up and walked out and puked I'm from the west coast we eat great food this shit was pure garbage should've known
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Don't let the 1930's built dining car's look and location keep you from eating here, clean inside and food is awesome. Of course I had to come to Boston to get the best corned beef ever. I had the Irish Benadict. Huge portion of corned beef on English muffin, perfectly cooked poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and a ginormous portion of home fries. Coffee is just as good as Starbucks at 1/5 the cost. So go for the historic ambiance of a 1930's dinner, great food and make sure you have a spare notch in your belt.
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
The place is small but it is a great place to have breakfast. I had the eggs benedict, which was delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and the service was prompt. I highly recommend the Airport Diner!

Tyler H.

Yelp
Great service and the food is always hot and delicious. The diner is small on the inside and it adds to the fun and busy atmosphere. You never feel unseen or unwelcome when stepping inside.

V P.

Yelp
Came in Saturday morning, there was just one other table seated. Watched friends of the staff and regulars that came after us getting their food served and when it hit the 30 minute mark and I asked for how much longer, our food ticket was 3rd in line! Then we hear the cooks calling our table "desperate" in Spanish. When we said that we could not wait any longer and we'd like to pay for the coffee and drinks, our server was all butthurt about it. All in all, if you're not a friend or regular prepare for your food to take a backseat in their favor and be served 2-3 refills of coffee in the meantime.

Yelp
HATD PASS nice little mom pap dinner but for only one thing breakfast there no love cook she Comps and attitude when food is sent back because It was incorrect cold home fries and greasy they dont know how to make eggs.AT ALL only think hot coming tongue table will be coffee & tea. The pancakes mickey mouse the kids will enjoy and French toast no favor but they add power sugar.. If u dont care about how u get ur food and breakfast this spot for u everyone else u know the deal
google avatar

Yolanda B.

Yelp
"Get the hash" -Bean Provost. "In any form" -Jake H I must say this place is pretty great. Super towny and full of locals who know where the best breakfast place is located. Not super easy to find but delish!

Mary G.

Yelp
Food is good but they consistently get orders wrong on Uber Eats. Every time I eat from here something is either missing and the order is half right. I don't who is putting the orders together but hopefully next time they will take better care in following what the order says. Also who doesn't include syrup with pancakes?
google avatar

Suzana N.

Yelp
Best corned beef hash I've ever had. It's homemade and consistently delicious. The service is very friendly and the coffee is good. Great place for brunch.

Jane P.

Yelp
Best corned beef hash and Huevo Rancheros! This place looked like a whole in the wall, but food and service were very good! Food came out quickly.
google avatar

Howie S.

Yelp
It's alright. It's better than IHOP but nothing to write home about. They do not cook bacon very well if that's your thing.

Andrew A.

Yelp
I love this place but the service tonight was horrible. Mandy was our server, there was 5 of us. She took our order didn't even have a pen and couldn't even put it into the computer properly which was right next to her. We waited for our food only one of us got the right order. We also ordered a bagel and 2 vanilla fraps which we never received. Mandy was clearly delusional and on something. Explaining stuff to our server was pointless and we asked for a manager. We explained our problem to the manager, who also didnt really seem to care. She said we wouldnt be charged and they came back with the bill and took the sode of bacon off. It really is a great restaurant, if Mandy is your server ask for a new one.

Yelp
Social distanced seating. Beautiful, classic diner vibes. Inclusive for Spanish speakers. Homemade corned beef hash is delicious. Service was very welcoming. Highly recommended checking out! Great for breakfast/brunch food
