"Open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. except on Sundays when it closes at 3 p.m., La Suiza has your early morning and afternoon pastelito cravings covered. Grab a couple of different varieties, along with a cafecito or Materva to wash them down." - Stacy A. Moya

Google
This Bakery was amazing because it is a cozy spot with amazing pastries, including authentic Cuban treats like pastelitos and guava-filled delights. The almond croissant was flaky and delicious, and the chocolate cake was rich and moist. Friendly service and perfect for a quick treat or coffee break. Highly recommend!

Google
The food they make is incredibly good. The owners are the parents of one of my closest friends and they are the nicest people I’ve ever met. I look forward to seeing them again .

Best bakery! Food is amazing, staff are kind, and service is great. I recommend everything, especially the cookies, they are amazing.

Google
One of the nicest bakeries I’ve been to in a while, people behind the counter are super sweet and the vibe is just nice. The reviews don’t make it justice

I'm not quite sure what has happened to this little family owned bakery, that if I'm not mistaken has been in business since 1983. I've gone on numerous occasions and it's always been as perfect as one could ever wish for. Today, I placed an order on Uber eats and low and behold was in complete shock when I opened the bags. The food was spoiled and with visible mold and growing bacteria unlike I've ever seen. Not only was it visibly rotten but the foul odor when you open the packaging just added to my shock and disbelief! I submitted my complaint along with pictures to Uber and they went ahead and provided a full refund. I have tried most of the day to get a hold of a manager/owner to inform them of this unfortunate incident but have not been successful. I keep asking myself how this could've possibly happened but just can't reason with it or excuse it!

Yelp
This is such a nice location. Go on a beautiful day so you can sit outside and enjoy the water view while eating there. I've had the coffee and different pastries and everything is very good. The people are nice and they're open till 7pm even on the weekends. You can take your pup and then walk along the water to take in the views or sit on a bench.

Yelp
I tried this place but the food truck location in Brickell. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before going. I had a great experience. The service was friendly. Plenty of seating outdoor in the food truck park. I ordered the cannoli and it was delicious. 100% would order again and I'm picky about my cannoli.

Yelp
Tried the tiramisu and it was okay, middle of the line treat, could have been better as it was on the drier side, would have liked it to be more moist. However, I could have gotten there on bad day because I do consistently walk past them and there is a line and people either stopping for a coffee or treat. They also do full size cakes which is nice when you don't want something from a grocery store. Location is great right where Brickell food trucks are and staff are nice as well.

Yelp
Do not be fooled about the small space this bakery has very well used: pastries are excellent, but not only those: from Spanish omelette to croquettes, superb!!!, with excellent prices (quality/ price relation is great!), very efficient and friendly service, very personalized.

Yelp
The day before Noche Buena, looking for Pan Cubano to take out of town for my family - and no one had them, they were all sold out. So Yelp to the rescue found this Bakery in the shopping center I go to daily for Starbucks and had no idea it existed...... the service was so friendly! And yes they were also sold out lol so I treated myself to the last of the mini Cuban loaves they had and a Dulce de leche Eclair.... it was so delicious! More pics on IG at SibFoodie

Yelp
Great service great deserts. Everything you'd be looking for from a Italian food truck bakery

Ruksana P.

Yelp
Friendly service, in a food truck court behind the Presbyterian Church on Brickell. Deserts are varied with plenty to choose from. Ideal spot for an after meal desert or tea/coffee break. We got the Bocatto Di Cardinale which is basically a richer flan with the density of a custard. It' was smooth and delicious, not too sweet and kept in the fridge well, we ate it a few hours after purchase. Going back tomorrow for the Profiteroles!

Yelp
Moved in the area and needed a new bakery spot for my weekend breakfasts (especially for those rough mornings from the night before...). La Suiza Bakery is one of those places that always pops up on my Yelp recommendations. This was the time to try it! La Suiza is hidden in the back of a plaza. Plaza was very packed but luckily we were able to find parking quick. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. They took are order and told us to have a seat and that they will bring it to us. We ordered a Pan con Huevo, Croqueta Preparada, and two café con leches. Total came out to $11 which was great especially since the sandwiches were big! Everyone was so friendly, food was good, and the spot was nice and clean. I'm sure we will be returning often!

Yelp
Awful the employees are rude and my food was under cook I can't believe it was this bad because I use to always come here for breakfast has a kid and I love it but now it horrible!!!

Dani Layla M.

Yelp
The food is good. They do a decent job with their cortaditos, but my problem is the customer service. I was waiting, during my lunch break, for my order to be taken (for a good 6 minutes). Out of nowhere, other ladies who speak Spanish showed up, completely cutting me in line! Their order was taken while I continued to be ignored as if though I wasn't even there. It was very insulting. I walked out and they didn't even try to stop me & help. They weren't even that busy, they were just socializing with the other Spanish speakers. Sidenote-- There is one nice girl who works there who gets picked on by the others.

Alyssa V.

Yelp
I had been put off by previous reviews for a bit but I finally went and was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back. I work in the plaza and had been going to another establishment for cafe and snacks but I am definitely going to make the switch. The ambiance is homey and cute. One thing that struck me was that they have a lot more options food wise than your avergae cuban bakery. Cakes, sandwiches, classic cuban desserts, and even pizza and quesdillas on the menu. They had some interesting stuff too like pan de chicharon and different flavored french breads. I got a tostada and cafe con leche and I have to say that I much preferred this cafe con leche to the other option in the plaza (by a lot). Big difference in quality for the same price. The cuban bread was also fresh. Fair warning: I have been warned that getting a meal from here can be tricky cause it sometimes takes way too long. So I'll monitor that situation.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
This bakery has been for years and a decade lol, they have remodeled and it looks so cute! It's hidden but if you know the right people then they'll direct to the right place breakfast! I ordered two fried eggs, fried ham and toast... mmmmm Cuban bread is just so delicious on its own that with some butter and some toastin = Sunday funday at its finest.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
La Suiza has always been a westchester favorite of mine! The food is good and consistent ... I just wish the service was a little faster! The cafe con leche needs no sugar it's perfect. The croquettas are crispy yet smooth, and the buttered toast isn't overwhelming. I also love that they cut it into squares for sharing.

Samuel V.

Yelp
So sad where this bakery has gone. One of my life long bakery's I have gone to. Unfortunately after changing owner ship it's just not the same...

Moses T.

Yelp
If you want the best colada ask for "la rubia" lol. Tried breakfast for the first time ever this morning after a healthy workout so decided to concoct a healthy breakfast (no ham, bacon, etc.) So i ordered my scrambled eggs with tomato, onion, and green peppers... it was a pleasant surprise to find deliciously aromatic rosemary house potatoes when I opened the container! Mmmm... definitely will be ordering this healthy concoction again

Jonathan L R.

Yelp
Only 2 customers inside the bakery at 12pm and 5 employees, ask for a ham and cheese sandwich, they never gave it to me... wait almost 20 min. The excuse: sorry I forgot .

Michelle L.

Yelp
Damn this place used to be an institution. Not sure if they changed ownership but I was shocked when I walked in and didn't see all the quintessential cakes on display. The interior was totally redone and there was fancy chalk board with cursive writing, replacing the old school menu. The women were very nice, wearing some sort of silly black bonnets, the place seems like it's trying to seem more upscale but what was heartbreaking was to see how empty the display cases and hot boxes were. They barely had any food, pastries, bread. It looked barren. And there were crumbs and loose/ crushed croquettes stuck in the case as well. I ordered a ham and cheese empanada because that's basically all they had and it tasted like old grease. Won't be returning

Christie A.

Yelp
I LOOOOOVE the pastelitos from La Suiza! Definitely worth the drive over from my house IMO. Too many bakeries have generic, previously frozen, then thawed and baked pastelitos for sale. Though I cannot say for sure, I really think La Suiza makes their own! The pastelitos are always tasty and always full of whatever filling you select. The croquetas are just okay, but the tequenos here are pretty good too! Man, my mouth just watered thinking about this place....I definitely have to go back soon! One more note- If you decide to go, don't go too late, because then the pickings are slim ;)

Vanessa S.

Yelp
I've been eating at La Suiza since I was a kid.... my parents always bought my birthday cakes there and I kept going back as an adult on those lazy sunday mornings to get some fresh pastelitos and cafe con leche! The staff are more friendly than your average pastelito pushers, in my opinion and the atmosphere always feel lite and friendly.

Nydia M.

Yelp
La Suiza is a great little Cuban bakery tucked into one of the many strip malls that litter 8th Street. They have great pastelitos (cheese and guava pastries) and Cuban bread. I've also had their media noche sandwich and papa rellenas but they were pretty average. Not bad, just average.

Valentina V.

Yelp
This Place Smells Horrible! Its Just so disgusting eating here. And on top of that the services is horrible, the worst i ever experience!

Lulu L.

Yelp
Service lately has been pretty bad, I use to love it. Gave it a couple of tries over the last few months and I feel a bit disappointed. It takes forever for someone to even notice you and say hello, and it's not because it's too full I went recently and there were only 4 of us waiting and I was waiting about 15mins for a coffee and an empanada. If was in a rush to get to work I would have left, hopefully they wise up because last time my coffee was cold and so was the meat in my empanada. There are many places in Miami to choose from if they continue down this road it might not look good for them. I hope the owner speaks to the staff and gives them a wake up call.

Lourdes W.

Yelp
This is my local bakery---literally I could walk there. There is nothing there that is exceptionally good. I frequent it because it's convenient. Although, I do hear the desserts are really good there, I'm more of a "pastel" kind of girl. I do recommend the cantinpalo sandwich and their toast. On Saturday and Sunday mornings--there's always a line, but the staff is nonetheless friendly.

Martha M.

Yelp
I tell everyone I meet at one point or another about this amazing place. I'd have to say that it's the best Cuban bakery in Miami. Their pastelitos are big and flaky and perfect. I've been coming here since I was a kid and have tried other pastelitos, there is no comparison. What i love is that they have pre done pastelito and bocadito platters that you can grab on the run. Oh yea, everything else here is good too, lol.

Julio H.

Yelp
This is a tough one. I have to be honest to myself and ask if I will go back, maybe ever. The simple answer is no. Yet I struggle with the idea of not going back. Maybe because this place is somewhat charming in its own way. Maybe because this is a step into the past and I was able to see relics that belonged to a Miami that was best known for its crime rate and drug subculture. Maybe because the employees were not wearing uniforms and maybe because the interaction with the patrons led to conversations about Cuba, Miami and how messed up this world is. But I think the reason why this place is intriguing is because of its unwillingness to move forward and its denial to offer WiFi and gourmet coffee. This bakery refuses to follow current trends in baking and to update the facade. The result is a nostalgia that is just amazing and mind boggling, and maybe the only reason why anyone would care to stop by.

Nina L.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, their croquetta preparada is perfect and always made to order. I love that they have all the traditions of a Cuban bakery including cafe con leche and tostada.

Carolyn W.

Yelp
1 star or really zero stars. We ordered some pastries 24 hours ahead of time for an office event. The girl who took the order said they usually require a deposit but not to worry just don't say anything. Something wasn't right so we called at 6am to confirm the order and the same girl said she put the ticket in but the baker didn't see it,so our order would be delayed. Original pick up time was 7am. We were now told the order would be ready at 8:15. I got there st 8:15 the order wasn't ready until after 9. I had an office full of people waiting for breakfast . I asked for the manager she showed no empathy not apology the girl who took the order denied that she said she'd waive the deposit. Mind you we order from here all of the time. I asked for a discount to which was denied. Yes I made a scene in the bakery. They manager was rude as were the staff. We won't return and will use Karla Bakery going forward. The service and entire atmosphere here has gone downhill, not sure if there is new management or not and I don't care. But With Karla and Pinecrest bakeries all over, this place is going down soon. Very very soon.

Alina R.

Yelp
This place has some great pastelitos! Fresh, hot Cuban bread all day, good croquetas. I used to come here when I was little since my grandma owned a framing shop in this shopping center. I have since had pastries from here occasionally, and they never disappoint. Try their pastelitos de queso.

Michael C.

Yelp
Honestly, not the cleanest looking place, but there is a great neighborhood feel in here and it gets 5 stars for service. They got my order wrong and gave me "jugo de naranja" instead of "una colada" (my Spanish sucks) and for the delay, I got a free colada. I was not unhappy in the first place as it was just a misunderstanding, but the good gesture made me a customer for life. After repeated visits, they have been consistently friendly and prompt and the products are well above average. I hope to try the breakfast soon now that I am working in the area, as that always looks great. There is obviously no shortage of decent Cuban bakeries/cafeterias on 8th Street, but if you are looking for one with friendly service, La Suiza is worth going out of your way for.

Mayren O.

Yelp
YUM! The pastries here are always fresh. This bakery has been around for so long, that it is a little piece of history on SW 8th ST. Its fame lives on through the pallets of the new generations... bite after bite. If you go often you will see the regular faces and the family like relationship between the customers and the employees. Although it may not be completely modernized, it's comforting to see that some places stay true to themselves. A lot of places lose their humility as well as their customer service that tends to go out the window. Some things need not be fixed... especially when they are not broken. Anything I have ever eaten here was mouth pleasing and I couldn't say otherwise. The croquetas, pastelitos and the sandwiches are delicious! Try any and all of your favorites and you wont be disappointed.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Never any parking in the front but there's a tiny lot in the back that's pretty easy to get to

Francesca T.

Yelp
Love the croquettes! They have such a variety of tasty foods! They are super nice there. Not to mention the place is super clean, always in tip-top shape, the atmosphere is exquisite! To bad it's hidden in the mall, so looking for it the first time was difficult, but searching for it certainly did pay off. The food there is always fresh, which is great to know since they cater. Love it here. It has to be my favorite bakery. Super yummy!!!!!!

Diana H.

Yelp
A wonderful Cuban bakery. Friendly helpful staff. The most excellent pastries you can ask for. It's best if you spoke Spanish but they will certainly help you in English too. Try the croquettas pastelitos and empanadas. The best in town!

Robby R.

Yelp
Good bakery if you are in the area. Good pastelitos and great service. Recommend to all.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
One word...delicious! Me & my family have been buying our pastelitos & croquetas here for 25 years! The taste & quality has NEVER changed. Their product is always fresh & they don't skim on the filling either. If you haven't been here before, then you haven't had the best!

AL P.

Yelp
Awesome pastries, great prices very quaint and basic. Usual for areas regulars. Just right for Cuban food and pastries. Been around since the 60's...

Katy D.

Yelp
Nice little hidden place. Been going there with my parents for about 8 years now. It can get pretty crowded in the morning, but Cuban people are always sweet. The service could be a little faster but I understand it gets crowded. They have great cortaditos and coladas, and the pastelitos are also great. Tostadas, I'm in love with. Recommend this place if you want a nice Cuban breakfast. They also make eggs.

Erica V.

Yelp
This place is meh. I tried to park and had to go around a few time. The place has like 3 doors and has bars on the inside of the glass. GHETTO!! This place is def on 8th street. This place is just short of depressing... the inside is dilapidated and the showcases are dirty and old. I stood there for like 4 minutes before even being acknowledged. The ladies there had all kinds of mean mug and there was only one that seemed to be in a good mood...and she was clearly the bakery poota with her stretchy bedazzled bebe sweatpants on and her looonngg acrylics, GURL. I had the carne pastelito and the guava and cheese. The pastelitos were not flaky enough! This is a friggin' epidemic! The filling on the carne was dry and not tangy enough but the guava one was really good. Both together were only $1.70 so they were pretty cheap. There are so many bakeries in the area that I don't think I'll be back. Maybe I'll try the bocaditos if I do because they looked interesting.

Yelp
cake bombom...wowwww
