LA’s New Restaurant Openings

"LA Sushi Co has already been fueling crowds at the SoFi and BMO stadiums with its neatly packed sushi boxes, but they now also have a brick-and-mortar in Brentwood. There are just a few small tables inside, but the Sugarfish-style Blue Boxes here, which include an assortment of nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, are designed for takeout anyway." - cathy park

LA Sushi Co - Review - Brentwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"LA Sushi Co has already been fueling crowds at the SoFi and BMO stadiums with its neatly packed sushi boxes, but they now also have a brick-and-mortar in Brentwood. Google
5 stars all around. Set was fresh, exactly as described and pictured on the menu, pretty sure they use real wasabi too. Adding to the normal rotation of places worth going

Google
It’s solid. Some of the best takeout sushi I’ve ever had. Right up there with Yama Sushi in Mar Vista and way better than Sugarfish, NowazaBar or KazuNori. Their marketing game is a bit much though. The blue and white fancy bag, the napkins, the chopsticks, the bag that holds the chopsticks, the fancy containers, all of which have LA Sushi Co branding… I get it, but to me it’s just fluff for their boogie Brentwood clientele. Normal plastic bags and containers like they have at every other takeout sushi restaurant are perfectly sufficient. Keep it causal. Branding and fancy packaging adds nothing. The product stands for itself entirely on its own, which is all that really matters at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Google
The fish is fresh and good but they usually give you very small portions of fish ! The nigiri is 50% smaller than a standard nigiri piece. I’ve come six times and maybe once or twice I’ve had a decently normal cut. You get more at Sugarfish for the same price. It’s inconsistent. One day the rolls and nigiri are a decent size - still smaller than normal and other days it’s a larger reduction. Today was the last straw, I had such small pieces of nigiri and rolls.

Google
Such a quick experience. Staff was super nice and the quality is very high all the way down to the little details like the chopsticks. Cost the same as a Whole Foods roll but is fresher. Hope this place continues to grow!

Google
Wanted to grab sushi for a quick affordable bite before heading to the beach and ended up stopping here. I ordered the ichi and was so happy and surprised about the quality and quantity I received. Had a pleasant day at the beach paired with fantastic sushi!

Google

Google
I’ve been converted. This is by far the best sushi I’ve ever tried. Everyone is so nice, the interior is spotless and I cannot wait to come back for more sushi. I also love how it’s in the heart of Brentwood so I can walk over anytime. You’ve got yourself a loyal fan.

Yelp
High quality sushi, perfect for ordering in. The sets are definitely the way to go if you're cost conscious. The sushi pieces came perfectly seasoned. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had a great experience dining in the other afternoon. I was very interested in trying out their menu and seeing the quality. My friend and I ordered the yon and shared the box, we were both really impressed with the quality, felt like the cuts were very big and juicy. We felt like it was a higher quality than basic tuna, and salmon, like the cuts looked different- almost like king salmon or salmon belly. I think the portions are good, they should have more box combo options! I was wondering why the maki cuts were only 4 pcs but 6-8 would be too much, so I get it. I think next time I will try selecting my favorite cuts and see how it goes from there. Thank you Eddy! For being so kind! I will be back!

Yelp
Stopped in around 4pm on a Thursday for a quick bite and we were the only guests. I was able to order right away with a tablet to pick what I wanted to try. My food was prepped right there as I ordered. The staff was extremely welcoming and willing to answer any questions. I've been so excited to try LA Sushi and have been waiting for it to open. It definitely lived up to my expectations and I will be back. Such a great addition to Brentwood!

Yelp
My boyfriend & I were walking through Brentwood. We were feeling a bit hungry& saw the place. It really caught my eye due to the aesthetic. As we came in, the employee was so nice! It made us want to be in here and welcomed. When I saw the price for what you got I thought it was pretty reasonable. We got the ICHI. Let me tell you, the fish was SUPER fresh & soft. I am a big fan on fish! The employee was so nice. Then he gave soft serve ice cream. Thank you La sushi co for being so kind

Yelp
I came here to pick up some sushi lunch. Unlike what others have said, I found the service to be great. Despite being a fast casual restaurant, the person at the register greeted me and suggested that I order the "Ni" as a perfect single order. You can see the sushi chefs a bit farther down making everything to order. When my order was ready (which was pretty quick) they all - cashier and sushi chefs - all greeted me as I left. The packaging is amazing - but possibly adds to the price of the fish. It comes in a sturdy bento-style box. The chopsticks provided are hefty, with a smooth finish, not like a break-apart chopsticks that give you splinters. I also really appreciated the little sauce boat provided for the soy sauce. In terms of taste, I do wish that the edamame was a bit more salted, but the fish itself was amazing! I thought all of the fish tasted very fresh! I'm normally not the biggest fan of salmon, but I thought that th salmon sashimi tasted really good - fresh and bright, almost sweet. Tuna nigiri was also great. It was a little annoying that the rice from the nigiri got stuck to the bottom of the box, so I really had to tug at it to pick up the pieces. Perhaps they can change up something about their take-out boxes so it doesn't get stuck. Aside from that, this was a great lunch option when I feel like splurging on some sushi takeout!

Yelp
I love the concept of ordering sushi takeout as it works well for my family. You can even sit inside for a casual meal. They serve boxes of predetermined parings or you can pick a la cart which is what I like to do. I'm not a sushi expert but it seemed to be great quality fish. I saw some folks comparing it to Sugarfish down the street but there's really no comparison. Sugarfish's takeout is meh and better in person. I hope it does well because we need more food options in the area.

Yelp
I ordered from LA Sushi through Uber Eats. It was hands down the worst food Ive ever ordered. Tasted like $h!t, so small and low quality. I'm furious I spent $50 on trash. I'm still thinking I might takes these a$$holes to small claims court to get my money back bc it was that bad.

Yelp
The chef was very friendly. Place was was spotless and cute. Great for local take out sushi. Not cheap for take out but I the quality is worth it. So glad to have good quality sushi to be able to pick up without having to go to an $$$ sushi restaurant.

Yelp
The 4 men that were working 4/11 in the evening....AWESOME! So kind and and provided great service. They looked like they were proud and happy to work there. Such a casual and easy place to go. Give them a raise!!!!!!

Yelp
Service was wonderful. Chefs and hostess were professional and warm. I got the Yon box. A few things though... the smell of fish (not good) in the restaurant hits you like ton of bricks! And honestly that fishiness translated to some of the sushi. The salmon sashimi was cut so thick. For the price I was surprised at the quality... We won't be back.

Melody Y.

Yelp
The people working inside were friendly. I ordered for to-go. Sushi was good. Rice was sticking to the box a bit, which caused some of the nigiri to break apart. The San was priced the same as Sugarfish's Trust Me box, and considering these two restaurants are just a block or so away from one another you could easily alternate between the two.

Yelp
Incredible sushi, and buttery Wagyu, ultra fresh fish, perfect rice, and great cuts. A must-visit in LA!

Jeri D.

Yelp
Excellent first class sushi. We order from here at least 3x/week and it never disappoints . Highly recommend.
