La Table de mon Père (Hôtel Castel Beau Site)

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. It included 2 breakfasts, which we enjoyed. We eat light in the AM and the fresh fruit, juices, pastries and cheese were good. We also booked a dinner. Wonderful view over the beach with the sun going down. English can be a little problematic but thats our fault and not the staff. Wine price was a little steep, but the same price you would pay at a comparable restaurant in the US. We ordered the Holiday Special prix fixe menu. Presentation was beautiful. Food was very good and inventive. But to be honest, while we don’t dine like this often, we are beginning to tire of dining experiences like this (3 in 3 weeks as we’ve been traveling). We prefer the same quality of food in a more relaxed environment and where the presentation does not have to be so composed and structured. We appreciate the amount of time and work put into this, but we also want to enjoy the meal without the theater experience.

Great location. The view from the table was breathtaking. Then what made the experience was the service, it was excellent, the team was very pro. Indeed, the waiting team did a fab job describing the food, and ensuring we had a great experience from start to finish. Then obviously the food did also contribute to a successful evening. The food was excellent, and this is when you want to take it slow and enjoy fully what is on the plate. Thank you for a lovely evening

Extraordinary place! The dishes are cooked and seasoned to perfection. The fish pf the dat was delicous! Everything on the plate was perfect and fit together. I will remember this lunch for a long time! Service is also top!

What a wonderful, amazing dinner. And warm, welcoming staff. We chose to order dinner a la carte. Every course was deliciously inventive and beautifully presented. The wine pairing was very helpful. Would love to return some day.

A very beautiful restaurant, with below average service and chef. We have visited the restaurant because we spent a night in the hotel. Prior to our visit (3 months in advance) we have signaled that one of us is suffering from multiple allergies. As this is a gourmet restaurant, with highly priced dishes (no starter below 20€) we had high expectations. First the service was very kind, however after they’ve learnt that we don’t speak French, the head waitress became very inattentive and bad tempered. Dishes were not well adjusted for the one of us suffering from allergies (e.g. elaborate sides were replaced with boiled potatoes). Now the individual points are not too negative, however, when summing things ups and considering that we’ve spent more than 200€, one cannot wonder, why we have left with a bad taste. Cannot recommend, based on our experience, visit at your own accord.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The hotel is situated right on the beach and has some beautiful coastal walking trails that extend for miles. No hotel gym, but just pack some shoes and explore the trails. Definitely plan on breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Food here was the best I had in France. Everything was extremely fresh, presentation was immaculate, and they offer a sommelier experience, where a different glass of paired wine is brought out with each of the three courses. The breakfast buffet includes a nice spread of yogurts, cheeses, fruits, nuts, crepes, pastries, and is served with fresh squeezed juice. I'd love to return to this place!
