La Table du Palafitte

An unforgettable dining experience at Hotel Palafitte in Neuchâtel! I had the pleasure of enjoying a duck dish that was absolutely divine—perfectly cooked, richly flavorful, and beautifully plated. It was the kind of main course that leaves a lasting impression. But what truly elevated the experience were the appetisers—each one a small work of art. The presentation was nothing short of outstanding, with careful attention to color, texture, and balance that set the tone for a memorable meal. Equally remarkable was the warmth and professionalism of the hotel staff. Their kindness and attention to detail created an atmosphere that made me feel completely at ease—like a home away from home. Highly recommended for anyone seeking not just a meal, but an experience.

We had a delightful Father’s Day dinner at this restaurant. The foie gras and veal were exceptional, and the salmon and chicken dishes were equally impressive. The dessert, a mille-feuille, was very tasty. The service was excellent throughout the evening. Although the prices are a bit high, the overall experience was lovely.

This hotel is what I call the Maldives resort in Switzerland. Really beautiful setting especially when you can dive into the water during summer. The best way to arrive is of course by ship. The restaurant is super lovely w great food from a relatively limited menu. Super enjoyable dining exp on a sunny day from their lovely terrace.

About a 30 mins walk (or short taxi ride) from Neuchatel train station is the Oasis of La Table du Palafitte (hotel and restaurant). Directly on the lake, definitely book a table on the terrace and enjoy the stunning views of many of the peaks of the Alps. The service is welcoming and relaxed. The menu is limited - but well selected and prepared. Lunch here is a delight. Afterwards grab a taxi to the old town of Neuchatel - you’ll be too full to walk!

Very good restaurant in the hotel, parking is free which is really nice. The waiters are always be very nice and friendly. Nice view to the lake and good menu.

Disappointed, not the experience that I had expected. The first dish had meat that was difficult to cut through (had to leave some of it). Equally the fennel was seasoned in something that gave it a sub par taste. The second dish was okay, however, the ravioli were slightly dry. The 3rd and 4th dish were very nice and were a redeeming factor, however, to even get 1 dish so wrong is bad. The last dish was the cheese dish, I personally do not like the fact that we could not choose the cheese. Also the cheeses on the dish were cut with the same knife. Which in itself is fine but they were not cut in the right order which means some of the soft cheese had mixed with the hard cheeses. The deserts were quite good. The place is hellishly loud and they need to find a way to make the place more silent. One of the forks that we got was bent, which should not be happening at this level. 3 stars is generous and could be given 1 or 2 for this poor effort. I hope they improve next time.

Fantastic views. Service was slow and when I advised I don't eat fish I was still served fish on one of my courses. Lovely hotel but we were disappointed with the evening food especially as it was expensive. Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of options and definitely worth doing
