LA TABLE DU PIGONNET

I was happy to have the opportunity to try your hotel's wonderful chef restaurant. I thought the portions would be small, but the plates that arrived were rich and filling. I wish I had tried the seafood plates also. the other guests' selections looked delicious. A palate cleansing mousse was served before dessert, and a very mini amuse bouche was served before the meal.

I cannot say enough good things about my dinner experience here! The garden is absolutely gorgeous, and the food is beautifully presented and delicious. My partner and I went here for our last night in Aix, and it was the perfect way to end our time there. Our server, Isabelle, was so welcoming and friendly. As soon as we got our aperitifs she encouraged us to go stroll around the gardens and enjoy the surroundings before our appetizers. She even came to take pictures of us! The food itself was also delicious. I ordered the octopus carpaccio as an appetizer, and it couldn’t have been more tender, flavorful, and unique. Highly recommend! If I ever get the chance to visit Aix again I’ll definitely go here, and I’ll request one of Isabelle’s tables! 😃

Simply the best restaurant we've ever been to. We've had wonderful dinners in Paris and London but this restaurant outshines them all. A beautiful setting, kind and attentive staff, and superb cuisine.

We had a bad experience in this “gourmet” restaurant. The place was nice and smart but foof is not worth at all. The starters were minimal and boring. After that, we were served 3 dishes of octopus in bad condition: hard, tasteless, leathery, you couldn't chew it, it was like gum. in short, impossible to eat. We should have rejected them but it was a embarrasing situation becase it was a special occasion and I invited to a restaurant it was supposed to be good. Any way, I let the waiter know and he took the plates from which we could only eat the vegetables. He didn't say or do anything. It was very sad and disappointing because it was a special dinner that I wanted to invite my family to and it was quite expensive. I upload the bill I paid.

"La Table du Pigonnet" was a find, literally.  We had wanted to lunch in Aix-En-Provence on our way to Paris.  Among other things, it is a university town.  We used Google maps to identify a good restaurant but then found that where we liked the restaurant, parking was elusive.  Nobody answered the phone.   Most frustrating and we were conscious of the 12:00-2:00 or 3:00 window available for lunch. Finally, Google came up with "Le Pigonnet' and we found parking nearby.*  We walked down the driveway to the entrance and asked if they were still serving lunch and could they accommodate us.  They set a table for us in the most exquisite of settings:  a formal, walled garden with an alley of beautifully tailored chestnut trees, and walkways perfumed by  roses and the sound of water from fountains, both formal and simple.  There were columnar Italian Cyprus and I think I spotted a birch or aspen with its delicate fluttering leaves, and olive trees.  Fragrant herbs, mostly rosemary, lavender and thyme grew in profusion.  Under foot were blocks of a local stone or  gravel. But wait, you ask , what about the lunch?!  It too was exquisite:  I had Magret de Canard to start which was beautifully presented with thin slices of vegetables shaped and crispy, and asparagus in season, followed by a Dorade in a pepper sauce and slices of crunchy chorizo,  and then a desert of strawberry souffle, flanked by a ball of lemon sorbet and a pot of "crème anglaise" - with guidance to make a passage in the soufflé, pour in the crème anglaise and let the flavors meld.  Amazing flavor!  Kevin had Magret de Canard as a first course and pronounced it delicious.  Small flavorful and intriguing appetizers were served before lunch and a bite of hazelnut cake and a jellied fruit square were served with coffee.  The service was gracious and unhurried and we left at 3:00 feeling we had had the best lunch in France.  We still feel this way several weeks later.  Our thanks to the chef and to the attentive staff!  A "trouvaille."I do recommend getting a reservation.  *Parking is available onsite.

Poor dinner service. The waiters just left the food on the table without any explanations. The taste was ok. I would have expected much better given the price

The staff working at the restaurant, pool, and bar are unbeatable. Such amazing service. I couldn’t recommend this place more! A paradise!

Excellent meal and wonderful ambience as always. The staff are superb and we will keep coming back as often as possible!
