Man, I really wanted to love this place. I really did, but sadly it did not make my money's worth in my opinion.
If you are going to sell Carne Asada Tacos from L.A. Least add the Guac on the tacos.. That is what a Cali Asada Taco really is, and it's just mandatory. This was a big turn off when I opened my tacos and the Asada tacos did not have Guacamole. The meat was a bit over seasoned with salt, though tasted better than the Pastor Tacos.
Moving on to the Pastor tacos, are these meant to be Pastor/Birria style tacos?? because these had no flavor of the marinade of a traditional pastor taco, the texture was way off. The texture was that of Birria (which the meat is more shredded) Traditional Pastor is whole sliced cut pieces that you slice from the Trompo, or slice from the meat. Sometimes can be cubed( TexMex) You can never go wrong when ordering " A Pastor Taco", but this did not have no " Pastor" to it. If you like your Trompo style tacos, you prob will not like this taco.
The Elote en Vaso has big chunks of Elote ( Corn ) put into a cup with a lot of sourcream some cheese and perhaps Mayo? Was not a big fan, was more on the bland side.. Not sure how that even happens... I'd say it was decent.
The title of the establishment does not live up the name, sorry very disappointed. The previous place that was here (Taco H) had some Bomb Tacos de California, everything I had there was good. It is not the same as some people claim because I do not see myself going back here again. I always like giving places several tries, but after trying out several items that are disappointing, you are left not wanting to come back. I hope they find more creativity in sorting their food with the title of their business, and make them stand out for those people who miss Cali food, making this a " Go-to" spot for Cali comfort food.
Guacamole tasted pretty good! That did come in the Asada Torta ( why not in the tacos?)
The service was good friendly cashier at the front. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Hot sauces were pretty good too. The pricing, was average for this typical kind of food - though I felt it was not worth that pricing for the taste.
It did take about 15 minutes to get the food out, it was not that busy as I saw, usually tacos don't take long to prepare, but I don't mind waiting for food that good taste and quality.
