Here Are The Best Taco Trucks in Napa, According to Rancho Gordo Founder Steve Sando | Eater SF

"At 504 Brown Street we visited a more community-centric Mexican market that Sando prefers over the larger La Morenita Market; they carry a great selection of meats and produce and stock La Finca tortillas from Oakland—the only commercial tortillas he’s found that are made from whole corn rather than masa harina. Sando’s fascination with real tortillas leads him to explain nixtamal (soaking corn in calcium hydroxide and water, rubbing off the skins, then grinding to make masa) and his worry that the profusion of Maseca masa harina could erase the old-fashioned way—making this market one of the few places in Napa to buy whole-corn tortillas. We also bought chicharrones con carne here: wide arcs of pork belly deep-fried until crispy and decadent, which we ate on a bench in Fuller Park." - Lou Bustamante

Where the LOCALS shop for hispanic foods and go for delicious Mexican Food. It is a market and a restaurant. There is a small RESTAURANT inside, in the back of the store with 4 small tables. You can eat there or take your food to go. 🍴 They serve tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas(sandwiches), nachos, and soups. 🌮🌯🥩🍲 The market has many Mexican products and pan dulces. It is a little small and an older building. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but if you know what you want ahead of time, you can also call in an order to pick-up.

I live in a predominantly Mexican community, I travel to Mexico often. I don't think I have ever felt more out of place not speaking Spanish than at this store. The person behind the meat counter seemed really annoyed that I couldn't speak Spanish. I am sure that this man could have just been having a bad day, but I will not be returning.

Quaint, little Mom & Pop grocery specifically dedicated to Spanish cuisine! Friendly employees.

I had pozole and birria de Chivo. The pozole I give it a 10 out of 10, very delicious. The birria de chivo I give it a 2 (1=very bad, 10=very good)

Can’t believe it took us so long to start getting groceries here. They have the best rice we’ve ever had, and we love to buy their meat and even prepared meals such as burritos. The produce is very fresh. Highly recommend anything here

Very good butcher, take out counter, and if you go on the right day, produce.

This is a good market that has many choices that are great!. The problem is the consistancy of the same foods offered changes. We bought huge bbq beef ribs from outside cook that were incredible. I went back several times to buy them again. However, one time there wasn't any outside bbq offered and the next time he was only cooking baby back ribs which were not as tasty as those initial beef ribs.
