"With locations in Hyde Park and Dedham, La Taqueria offers guests the choice between corn, flour, and hard shell tortillas. The tacos al pastor come with nicely charred pork and pineapple. It’s an exemplar of the genre. La Taqueria is open for takeout and delivery." - Samer Khudairi

Delicious Mexican! A very popular spot on the junction with a stream of orders coming in. We stopped by on the way back for a quick bite and the service was prompt, the good was delicious and reasonably priced too. Bonus high chairs available for the little kids too. Keep up the great work! 👏😎🌯🌮🇲🇽

I am disappointed to leave a 2 star review as I've been here a few times and really enjoy the food and the generous portion size, at least with the chimichanga. Today, about half way through the chimichanga, I bit into something hard pulled out half a toothpick. I first felt astonished. Then lucky that I didn't pierce and damage my tongue and mouth. Then grossed out and tried to take comfort in that the toothpick looked snapped rather than chewed on. My last stage was confusion- where did this toothpick come from and how did it get in?! I'd like to go back because I genuinely like the food and I am sure this is a one off. But there was a toothpick...

The average wait time for an order placed at the restaurant is ridiculous! If you don’t mind waiting for the apocalypse to come before your order is complete then this is your spot, they seem to care more about pick up orders than in store customers for whatever reason, on average wait time for a order placed inside the restaurant can be over 20-30 minutes.. Apart from that the food is actually good. It would be best to place your order online or via phone before coming in though..

Google
Definitely an above average taqueria. I generally don't like tacos from places with a large menu but these were pretty good. I had the fried fish taco and Cajun shrimp taco. The only negative I had was the speed. It felt like it took a bit too long to prepare. Otherwise, everything was great.

Google
I can't really speak to the atmosphere as I only ordered pick up online. I was in and out with my burrito very quickly. What I can say is that burrito was one of the best damn burritos I've ever eaten. It was after work and I would typically eat half of it in the car and save the rest to take home. Not the case here! I could not and would not put it down. I devoured it! And it was a fine and ample size. Service was friendly enough but like I said, I was in and out of there quickly so it's hard to give an honest assessment. But when I find myself in the area and I'm hungry, I'll definitely be going back there!

Google
LA TAQUERIA: MY GO-TO SPOT! Their cakes are scrumptious, and you can customize your order with your favorite toppings. My personal favorites are the burritos and quesadillas loaded with black beans, cheese, and rice. Their drinks are absolutely delicious! Watching your food being prepared through the glass - it's like having your own personal chef! A parking lot makes it easy to stop by whenever you're hungry. La Taqueria is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food.

My sister brought me here for the first time. We was greeted by Alvin EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE & HOSPITALITY! My newest favorite place to come. Nice and clean .

Google
Finally, a Tequeria that makes REAL Horchata!!.....not from a generic pre-maid mix. The meat was tender and flavorful, the cilantro lime rice actually tasted like cilantro lime. No skipped seasoning. The place way busy with to-go and pick up orders, but my food was ready faster than I expected for a Friday night dinner rush. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Nicole D.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats for dinner and everything arrived warm and delicious! You can tell everything here is homemade. They should start selling their tortillas in the grocery store because I could eat 20 of them plain in one sitting. The one small piece of feedback I have is that we got al pastor and carne asada tacos and they taste the same, but don't get me wrong the overall taste is still delicious and flavorful!

Diana L.

Yelp
Lunch Take Out Delivery Jalapeño poppers 3/5 Fried Fish Taco: 3/5 Carne asada taco: 3/5 I would say "ok." Not bad. Not great. But willing to try other menu options next time I need take out in the area.

Steve Z.

Yelp
Gave this place a try and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Seems very popular based on the amount of take out orders.

Yelp
Long time customer- can't believe I have never reviewed this place. My family orders from this place every few weeks and eats in every few months. Its one of our short list of regular places. Food and customer service is always fantastic. Our favorites are the enchiladas, chimichanga, and taco salads. The taco shells and shell for taco salad are soooo good. We live near the restaurant so when we do delivery its always hot.

Brian C.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of this place. I find their food absolutely delicious and the staff is always great. However.. I will say.. today (3/31/24) I ordered two orders of mango habanero shrimp tacos. When I arrived I curiously asked how many tacos come in an order. I was told one. So a total of two tacos. $15.96 for two tacos. Corn tortillas were stiff but the flavors were still good. But $15.96? Not worth it, at all.

Stephon M.

Yelp
This food is on point! The Americas taco has potatoes in it which was both unexpected and amazing! The carne asada burrito was delicious and they didn't skimp on the protein. It's a no frills spot that's clean with limited seating so we ate there. Overall good vibe and great service as well. I will definitely be back!

Eden S.

Yelp
This was ordered from Grubhub but delivered by the restaurant. The food was barely warm when I received. An order of Fried fish enchiladas was a mushy mess. It's hard to know if they would have tasted a lot better had they been hot, but I doubt it. The flavor just wasn't there. The jalepeno poppers were encased in too much chewy breading and the jalepenos themselves were tough and chewy from not beig cooked well enough. They were cold. Refried beans were not hot but tasted okay. Many of the Grubhub reviews mention food that arrives cold from this restaurant. I called the La Taqueria to let them know this had happened to me and they did seem particularly concerned, nor did they offer to make it right.

Kelly O.

Yelp
Experiences may vary. I quite enjoyed the enchiladas with al pastor- the meal was fresh and filling and huge/heavy, the meat was flavorful and juicy, and the Mexican rice and stewed black beans on the side were tasty and seasoned well. The tacos though had dry meat (various meats, including al pastor), like maybe they were under a heat lamp or something, and the refrieds were wayyyy too salty. We also tried the app sampler, which was nothing to rave about but not bad either: the cheese nachos were plain but the cheese sauce was flavorful, the elote was decent, and the chicken flautas were a bit on the burnt side but had lots of flavor. Mixed bag, but worth a try.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this spot while driving through roslindale, kind of a right place right time vibe. The decor is super fun and bright with beautiful murals and colorful walls and furniture. They play (what sounds like to me, a white woman) traditional Mexican music too so it's a full sensory experience. The menu is surprisingly huge for a taqueria with more appetizer options I've seen at other places in Boston. Since I was ordering for me though I skipped the appetizer and went for a chicharron burrito with everything on it, the basic meter stick by which I measure all taco spots. The burrito was pleasantly hefty but the filling was a little heavy on rice and light on meat imo. The rice was super lime-y which I really liked. The flavor of the chicharron was awesome but the texture wasn't my all time favorite. The fatty parts weren't quite that melt in your mouth, super slow cooked that you get with the best chiccharon. I very much enjoyed my limeade. Service was a little slow considering everything is already cooked and just needs to be assembled but everyone was really nice. Since that visit I've ordered delivery from here once. M was really happy with his carnitas burrito. Flavorful, good meat to rice ratio, filling. Unfortunately I was very disappointed in my pork belly burrito. It kinda tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. Not at all what you want or expect in a burrito. I only at half. They do offer some Texmex and non-traditional options (Cajun shrimp for example) but it didn't say on the menu (on DoorDash anyways) that the pork belly was one of them. Maybe I just need to try something other than burritos? I'm not totally writing this place off but I'm cautious about what I order now.

Yelp
I've driven past this place for years but never stopped to check out the food. Today ,I'm happy I did. I had the pechuga and chicken tacos. The pechuga was cooked properly and full of flavor. I was worried the tacos would be dry since they had no sauce but surprisingly the meat was moist. It could Still use a sauce though ! Service was quick and took about 15 mins. A previous review ,the owner said the food is cooked fresh to order which is greatly appreciated ! My only critique would be the condiments should be packed separately , they were wet from the meat juices.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Really great burrito! My first order there was a grilled chicken burrito and I couldn't finish it the burrito was so big. Chicken, rice, beans, tomato (maybe pico?), and lettuce. I was also craving queso and they had a small order of queso and chips for $6.xx so I grabbed that too. The queso is a thin style and chipotle flavored. It has a bit of a bite to it. The tortilla chips are thin and fresh. I ordered delivery and they came before the delivery time and for only $3.99. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Chris R.

Yelp
Alright, Dominicans cashing in on their Mexican cousins cuisine. I'd rather that than White people. Just being honest. The food here is tasty. The service could be better. It loses points on traditional for me because mi encanta Mexico and I've been there so many times that it's really hard to accept this but it will do. The prices though Two entrees three sides and three drinks $86 before tip, we're in Hyde Park people that's disrespectful!, but a sign of the times nonetheless. The fact that the dining experience whether eat in or take out is take out trays sucks! If I'm dining in can I get my food on a plate. I think I paid enough for it! Geesh!

Brianna L.

Yelp
I ordered 3 tacos. The best one was the Cajun shrimp. It had a lot of flavor and would order again. The pork belly was good, but the sauce was a little too much. The carnitas was pretty good, but needed a little more flavor and a little on the drier side. The service was good, and staff were friendly.

Lighta V.

Yelp
This is my second time hear and they have not disappointed me just a great as the first time all the food has very good flavor and tastes fresh highly recommend will definitely be back.

Classser ..

Yelp
This was our favorite place to grab dinner, but lately the quality of the food has changed. It is something not edible. Tonight I got the sampler with mango habanero wing. They only give you three in the sampler and the three I received was completely burnt. It was so bad that is was hard to chew. The wing was burnt to the bone. I think that enough for me. I will make them myself at home. I am so tired of paying money for trash food. Disappointing

Jimmy G.

Yelp
The best in the city. Prove me wrong O.o ? Great food, Service . Taste. Fair price for the quality. Thanks!

Amina R.

Yelp
Bomb.com. Before I get to the food I have to shout out how clean this take out spot is. All the food looked super fresh. Now for this steak salad. Baby.... The flavor was so good I needed no dressing. The vegetables were fresh, flavorful and you could tell they were freshly chopped that day. I will definitely be back .

Jason D.

Yelp
I waited 35 minutes to receive a chimichanga meal without the included rice or beans, with no notice, no mention at pickup, no offer of partial refund or of a replacement. I would have accepted other options than my specific requests. This was especially disappointing as I have previously had a good experience, and others who live in the area have recommended them wholeheartedly.

Lisa W.

Yelp
This review is for the new Dorchester Blue Hill Ave. location. I really wanted to love this place but the food is extremely salty the chicken burrito was salty, the chicken rice bowl was salty even the guacamole was salty. I've been twice unfortunately I won't be back.

Matt K.

Yelp
Doesn't matter what the food is like. Junk hidden fees leave a crappy taste in one's mouth.

Linda B.

Yelp
La Taqueria has raised the bar on Mexican food for me. Their online ordering menu is clearly written and makes it super-easy to customize my order. I find their ingredients to be consistently fresh and well seasoned but not so heavily sauced that basic flavors are masked. I particularly love their carnitas tacos, kale salad, fish tacos and grilled street corn. Two other big plusses for me: the immaculate cleanliness of their restaurants, both in Roslindale and Dedham, and the friendliness of the staff.

Ricardo C.

Yelp
I'm normally very happy with what I order at La Taqueria. EXCEPT THIS LAST TIME... I ordered Carnitas Flautas. Usually, the meat is more on the shredded side with almost zero fat. Which is why I order them so much. Fat sets off a gag reflex for me. Needless to say, the flauta had a too much fat for my taste. I wasn't happy and my dinner was less than satisfying. I couldn't even finish one. So I tried another. Same thing. Normally I'd chalk it up to bad luck and move on but it just kept bugging me so I went back the next day to ask for my money back, not expecting much. A lot of times, restaurants get defensive and that leads to an argument and everyone getting pissed. BUT As soon as I brought up the issue, the Head Chef came right over, asked what was wrong and asked me to give him a few minutes. He cooked up a fresh order, offered me two free sodas and apologized several times. He told me he was going to personally make sure it didn't happen again. Wow! Now That's service. The new order was perfect! Please support this restaurant. The food And the service are top notch. Couldn't be happier. 6 Stars!! Lol.

Stephanie V.

Yelp
I love the food from here is excellent never miss, however the service and the wait time is getting ridiculous. On the phone they tell you 20 minutes to pick your food, always expect 45 minutes minimum wait. Also, the restaurant set up is an open kitchen concept which I personally love and is super colorful. Therefore, Management needs to do better at communicating with their employees and not yelling at them in front of the customers. Thanks!

Selene H.

Yelp
The wait is absolutely ridiculous for three items. We waited 45 mins waiting in the store. They're working so hard but not working smart

Cherell M.

Yelp
We are frequent guests of this location. Although their delivery time is historically long, it arrives, still hot and ready to eat. this evening we ordered food around 530 pm with an expected delivery time of 630 pm which is standard. By 7 pm , we finally received a call from the delivery driver stating he was outside. He wasn't. He went to the wrong address. We called the restaurant, explained the situation and asked what to do about the cold food we were going to receive. The guy on the phone indicated the driver was on his way and hung up. It's now 7:24 pm and the food just arrived. Cold as expected. Lost a customer today !

Isa M.

Yelp
food is great, service takes forever though. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Very colorful and floral.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Have ordered from here a few times. The food is fine - nothing special but not bad - but the service is absurd. We ordered delivery on a Friday night. 2 hours later we still had no food and they couldn't give us an estimate of when we'd receive it. They cancelled our order without so much as an apology. Save yourself the hassle, go with achilitos or chilacates!

Shirley W.

Yelp
I've been driving past this place and FINALLY made it into the restaurant! This place is ALWAYS popping even during COVID, you know the food here is good! When I say its popular, no it doesnt mean its packed inside. Theres always people coming in and out of there! The inside is super clean and colorful! Theres NO dine in space inside, encouraging us to take these goodies home! Theres plenty of space to stand apart from others to wait for your food. My favorite thing about here is that EVERY single employee is actively working on something. NO ONE is standing around/waiting for something to do. Everyone is doing their part and they all work pretty well together. It was great to see! The tacos here are PACKKKKEDDD! They dont skimp on the fillings and they taste pretty darn good! My fave are the carnitas!! And that horchata here are sooooo good!! I 1000000% would come back again and definitely recommend!

Jay P.

Yelp
OVERPRICED!!!! The quality is average and the size of the tacos are tiny. Save your money and go to Los Amigos instead!

Tiffani J.

Yelp
I love treating myself to La Taqueria! I first ordered the carnitas because my coworker let me sample it. Yummy. Usually, I'm not even a huge carnitas fan. However, it's all I order from La Taqueria. I'm scared to order something else--not because I do not think it's good...I'd just hate to miss an opportunity to order the dish I have grown to love. I usually order a burrito bowl, but the taco salad is a win, win as well! I also order a side of fresh chips and salsa.

Jesse M.

Yelp
First time here, they have lots of choices on the menu and you can customize any way you want. Portions are generous and satisfying.

June A.

Yelp
I would give it zero stars if I could. I'm a big believer in customer service. During the pandemic, I ordered from this place frequently as I wanted to make sure I helped my local businesses. Today, they showed me what they thought of my patronage. I ordered their chicken and steak fajitas which comes with fillings and flour tortillas. Anyone who's ever had a fajita knows the tortillas are a little bigger than taco tortillas. Not only was this not what I received, I got some corn tortillas that I absolutely hate and didn't order. When I called to bring this to their attention, they proceeded to leave me on hold for 10 mins. I hung up and called back and asked for a manager who not only proceeded to be completely dismissive, but offered to 'heat up some flour tortillas and send them your way' before hanging up on me. As someone who has worked extensively in the customer service industry, this is beyond unacceptable customer service. You mess up an order, you apologize, remake the order and send it to the customer. You don't 'send something your way' and you certainly don't hang up. I live near this establishment and watched them go from a great restaurant to one that slowly raised its prices and cut the customer service in the process. Tonight was my final order and I will make it my hobby to tell anyone who asks why patronizing them is not a good choice.

Eileen B.

Yelp
This has become our covid19 delivery choice. We noticed that some deliveries from other restaurants had taken on a less-flavorful-than-usual delivery service. Our friend suggested La Taqueria, and we have become regulars. Everything we have ordered is delicious, but may I recommend the steak with chimichurri (spelling?) sauce. I keep going back to it. We order from Hyde Park, haven't tried Dedham.

EILEEN V.

Yelp
Love love la Taqueria!! Food is fresh, made to order, and a great selection and prices.

Geant S.

Yelp
I got the burrito with steak and everything. I came home thinking the toughest thing to bite was going to be the steak it wasnt it was the rice. al dente rice that bothered me with every bite until half way through when I gave up and threw it away.

Sean J.

Yelp
It's ok in a pinch but there are better options nearby. My experience is a quandary: they seem to simultaneously always screw up my order, its never ready on time, and the food doesn't seem fresh. More than once I've been treated to stale and over/under cooked rice that they assemble on the spot after I point out that my pick up order was supposed to be ready 15 minutes ago.

Allison M.

Yelp
LT is the best! Teachers from our school order lunch from La Taqueria every week, usually more than once. It's become something I look forward to! The food is always fresh, the portions for the bowls and burritos are generous, and it is seriously delicious. Something about the cilantro ranch and the chipotle mayo has me addicted. We're grateful for La Taqueria and if you're reading this review you should definitely check them out. And get Maduros in your burrito or bowl :)

Yuval Y.

Yelp
Fresh authentic fast Mexican. One of our favorites is the taco salad. If only they had a place to sit and enjoy it outside ...

Natiah C.

Yelp
I wish I could give ZERO stars. La Taqueria will no longer be getting my money. When they first opened up a few years ago they were great... food, service, atmosphere etc. now they have become beyonddddd sloppy and unprofessional in terms of service and the food has gotten significantly worse. I understand that they have grown and they have a surplus of customers now BUT SAVE YOUR MONEY! The amount of times they've gotten my order wrong both in person and for delivery, and then have the nerve to blame the customer or try to make it seem like it's not their fault is ridiculous. The delivery service is also trash. It takes forever to get your food and despite being a loyal customer for many years, TWICE they "delivered" my food and had to bring it back to the store because they "couldn't get in contact" with me... but the number they had for my order was incorrect, how you ask? I have no fucking clue because the order on their delivery platform had the correct number. Not to mention they've delivered my food and left it in my apartment lobby at least 30 times before without contacting me. The grilled chicken salad has changed significantly and is no longer good. The steak burrito and chicken are over seasoned now and very salty. Just overall really poor food quality now compared to when they first opened. Today I called to place an order for pickup and they left me on hold for 15 minutes. When I hung up to call back I was sent to voicemail both times. Then my boyfriend called and got through and this time the person hung up. We drove to the location and they tell us "well we're closed anyways" and had the nerve to give us attitude. But if they had taken my order the 20 minutes before when I was put on hold my food would be ready, but instead the cashier wanted to fucking argue. AGAIN, SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go somewhere where they care about their customers, make quality food and do not blame you when they fuck up.

Izendra A.

Yelp
Love there chicken basil rice meal Delicious keep you wanting more . Clean and friendly staff, Fast service

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
This place is an awesome vibrant taqueria with yummy eats and great portions. Everything is delicious. The artwork is fun dressed on day of the dead urban graffiti. the decor is bright even the shade is covered in art. It makes me feel happy and fun. The food is even more delicious. The street corn is awesome. So are all the other entree's me and my party of 7 had. The taco bowl you can pick your ingredients and you can even get it w/fried fish. I would go back anytime.

Ivy K.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place when they first opened and was recommending it to everyone. I hate leaving negative reviews so I have given this place so many tries the last several months in hopes that it's just a phase and they get better again but today was the deal breaker. I ordered 4 tacos for delivery, 3 grilled chicken and one shrimp. They did let me know on the phone that the shrimp is Cajun and so it's spicy... I have had Cajun shrimp many many times, I confirmed spicy and not salty right because their food has been over salted the last couple of orders and they said yes. Not only was the price insane, $22 for 4 tacos and the order took over an hour to get to me, but that had to be the most disgusting shrimp i have ever had in my life. The shrimp tasted like old expired overly seasoned seafood and the taco literally consisted of 3 pieces of shrimp and a soft shell soaked in grease. I couldn't eat it after the first bite and had to throw it away... what a waste of money. There are so many better Mexican places in the area and at a better price.. I truly regret ordering from this place...Never coming anywhere near this place again...

Mac M.

Yelp
The veggie taco was good. Chips were a little stale and seemed like they got it from some kids party. The refried beans were not actually beans but mush. The chimichanga was lackluster and somewhat tasteless. I expected all the toppings to be in the chimichanga but they were on the side instead. So all that was actually in the chimichanga was shrimp, rice, cheese, and refried bean mush. Customer service was good and speedy.

Jay K.

Yelp
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Super fresh, made with care and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. My companion had the chicken bowl (with a ton of options for any/everyone's taste) and I had a salad with double chicken, sautéed veggies, sour cream, guacamole and cheese. They were both delicious and the portions were enormous. Super clean and bright space too! We'll definitely be back!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Sooooooo good! If you're thinking about coming here or looking for Mexican food, just come here lol. You don't need to decipher anymore! I can all the way from the south shore for this and I'd do it again!!!!!

Ashley X.

Yelp
I only gave a 3 star because the online ordering pick up time frame is about 1/2 hour off. I thought I was being helpful by picking up and not ordering delivery. I checked in with the cashier when I arrived and she assured me it'd be a couple more minutes. They were busy but I saw several workers looking over at me, so I assumed they were working on my order. Finally, 25 minutes later, a DIFFERENT worker asked my name...again...only after realizing I had been waiting a while...then he told me he was NOW working on my order. I waited at the restaurant 30 minutes after my order was suppose to be ready for it to finally be prepared. I mean, I WANT to be understanding, I do, but please just hear me out! Had La Taqueria for the second time tonight. It was really just OK the first time, which is why I didn't write about it. I had gotten a carne asada burrito but the experience wasn't memorable. The food tonight was much better. I changed it up and got a pork belly burrito, chips + guac + salsa, and a street taco. The pork belly is on the sweeter side, so if that's your thing, then it's really good- I'll probably get something else next time. The hot sauce they have is some sort of chipotle hot sauce. The guac is pretty tasty and the salsa is good- mild but not your typical pico type salsa.

Wanda H.

Yelp
Food is very good staff is nice you can see them make your plate you might have a hard time to order because everything looks and sounds good

Karen S.

Yelp
I love coming here because the food is alwayyysss delicious! The fried fish with the pickled cabbage and the sauce they put omg! The tres leches so yummy!!

Lucy S.

Yelp
When the Roslindale location opened they were awesome food was on point. Now it's like they use cheep meats and they overload with cheese. The Mexican street corn was awesome now taste like Mayo and paprika. The tacos are over priced
