"Downtown Dallas will house Texas’s first outpost of famed French bakery La Tarte Tropézienne. According to CultureMap, construction just began on the Saint-Tropez-based bakery’s location at 1604 Main Street, adjacent to the Joule Hotel. No opening timeline has been set just yet, but when it arrives, expect classic Viennoiserie, breads, sandwiches, and the crème Tropézienne, a decadent treat on brioche with two types of cream and pearl sugar on top. The Dallas location of this bakery will be the very first establishment worldwide to open outside of France." - Amy McCarthy

The pâtisseries here takes hard and honest work to make. The kitchen staff consisting of the head chef and sous chef start their bake-off at 3am to be ready for 8am! They don't even stop there, it's an insanely wild 10 hour shift! They've been doing this since the start of August when they opened. I worked a "bake-off" shift to experience the prep process; new pâtisseries creations are made every morning and every single detail is very important. For the freshest product is defiantly to come in the morning and the croissants are freshy baked. The display counter that the pâtisseries is placed on is a refrigerated surface to ensure the they are cooled at a consistent temperature. I feel blessed to have a job during Covid times and it's really the regulars that keep things lively and afloat. Downtown has turned to a tourist destination compared to 10 years ago, it is really owned to Klyde Warren Park which is built over Highway 30 that once split Downtown and Uptown and has become a membrane that allows a flow of people between the districts. Downtown is not just a place for 9 to 5; The Eye has become a landmark and AT&T Discovery Center is an interactive destination attraction for everyone in the city of Dallas.

Food is delicious. No questions. Best French bakery in town. Do yourself a favor and get the parmasean and leek croissant. Unreal. Unfortunately their coffee is bad. I have gotten a double espresso and a latte. The espresso was so unbearably bitter it was un-savable (is that a word?). The latte is this monstrous creation I took a picture of that is mostly water and 3 sizes too big to actually be a latte. The French would be mad. This may stem from the fact that they make coffee from a high end nespresso machine (industrial kind). Please fix this. Your place would be perfect if you served actual coffee/espresso. Will keep coming because the food is UNBEATABLE.

Tasty french pastries. The baby trops are def the stable and worth a try, but my favorite is the leek and parmesan croissant! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I came here wanting to try everything, and I almost did!

We very much enjoyed the croissants, baguette and of course, the tarte tropezienne. I ordered ahead and they sent me a text when it was ready for pick up. A great addition to the CBD corridor. Seamless transaction and delicious, authentic food. Tres Magnifiqué.

Top notch service and pastries. Only time in my life I have loved a non-flavored latte; it was so smooth and rich it didn't even need sugar. Definitely try the mini tropes or the pain du chocolat, perfection.

This was the perfect little spot for fresh French pastries and sandwiches. I had the Spinach and Feta pastry and the Leek and Parmesan pastry and both were delicious 😋

La Tarte Tropezienne is a great place to grab a pastry if you're in the middle of downtown. I only tried their namesake dessert, which was good, but I'm sure everything else is as well.

Only complaints I had were very small, I wish their fruit tart had more custard in it, and the white topping of the espresso enclair was a bit sweet. But EVERYTHING was amazing. As a tea drinker I highly recommend the green tea and jasmine hot tea they have, you get about three small tea cups of tea. The smell is great but it taste even better. The lemon tart was so good I could have eaten a dozen of them. Their coffee was good, smooth even without creamer. Service was amazing, they checked on us often and was very attentive.
