La Tavola, Little Italy, Baltimore So, let me tell you about a little piece of Heaven ❣️ When you need a little break, head to Little Italy, Baltimore and stop at La Tavola, you will not be disappointed. Their special bruschetta with homemade focaccia bread - marinated tomatoes, prosciutto, and pecorino Romano cheese with olives on the side, dinner was homemade pasta with clams and Sardinia caviar (the owner is from Sardinia, Italy), then finished with fresh strawberry panna cotta! The food was absolutely delicious. The bruschetta on homemade focaccia had a delightful mix of marinated tomatoes, salty prosciutto, pecorino Romano cheese, all sitting on soft and crispy bread. The homemade pasta with clams and Sardinia caviar tasted fresh and flavorful, with the clams bringing a hint of the sea and the caviar adding a touch of luxury and authenticity. Finally, the strawberry panna cotta was creamy and smooth, with the strawberries adding a bright, sweet finish to the meal. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ The ambiance was comfortable and inviting. No one was sitting "close" to you, the brick gave an elegant, rustic feel. The staff made you feel welcomed. They were kind and attentive, never rushing you. There was no "hustle and bustle" - you were meant to enjoy and savor your meal! Definitely a 5 out of 5! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Always impressed by the fresh and creative weekly specials! The staff is incredibly friendly and well-versed in dietary restrictions… there’s no shortage of delicious gluten-free options! Mark is the friendliest bartender 🍷, and Luca is a thoughtful owner who ensures every visit outshines the last. A true neighborhood gem! 💎

We went to the restaurant trusting the google and tripadvisor reviews. Boy, were we wrong? The food was not even good. I left the restaurant and had Chinese food for dinner. I do not like Chinese food. That is how messed up this experience was. I got the veal dish with vegetables and the gravy was way too salty. The potatoes were burned and the zucchini were undercooked. My MIL ordered the gnocchi. The sauce was weak and bitter. Out of the six entrees we ordered, there was only one of us who enjoyed the meal. Everyone else was sorely disappointed. We ordered two of the house specials and they were just bland. To top it off, the server made a drink stating that the bartender was busy which was very different than what was previously ordered. When we mentioned our disappointment, his response was I added more vodka. So I guess thanks for giving us the drink that we did not order! Anyway, this is another $300 mistake, I won't be making. I am going to Olive Garden next time. Also, gratuity of 20% was already added. Wonder if that was because we were party of six or their norm.

The food was excellent, and the service was impressive. The ambiance was both relaxing and elegant, making it a perfect place to enjoy a quiet, quality meal. Highly recommended!

Google
Best restaurant in Little Italy. This is probably the best italian food I’ve ever had. The squid ink pasta and gnocchi pomodoro was immaculate. The server was very friendly and knowledgable, ambiance was great (they played jazz all day long), everything was perfect. Definitely would come back to try every single thing in their menu if I’m in Baltimore.

Nice little Italian restaurant in Little Italy. Drinks are just okay. Lasagna is super good. The seafood pasta was just okay not as intensely flavorful.

Google
The food is ok, but I think its coasting on its reputation and the charm of the neighborhood. The meatballs were dry and salty. My cocktail wasn't mixed well and left a lot of syrup on the bottom. The pasta was decent, and the tomato sauces were all delicious. Atmosphere was refined for such a busy place.

Google
The BEST gluten free pasta I've ever eaten. I also had soft, warm gluten free bread with butter. Pasta and bread were made in-house and delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free requirements and were able to help point me toward safe entrée options. My husband had regular, wheat based pasta and he also said it was wonderful. Our server told me that approximately 50% of their customers are gluten free.

Yelp
La Tavola gave me a strong "home-style comfort" vibe -- nothing too surprising, but also nothing really wrong. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't that busy, yet we still waited quite a while before getting seated. The staff were polite and friendly, but they didn't seem very attentive to their tables -- service felt a bit slow. As for the food, I'd give it a 7/10. You could subtly taste the crab meat inside the squid ink pasta, which made the flavor combination interesting. The seafood linguini was more on the standard side. Overall, the dishes felt quite traditional and homey -- whether you like that style really depends on personal preference. Also, ingredients like tomatoes might vary with the seasons, so perhaps I didn't visit at the best time. The vibe was relaxed and easygoing, but not particularly lively or romantic. All in all, I'd say it was a 7/10 dining experience -- not a bad choice, but probably not a place I'd rush to revisit.

Yelp
If I could give this establishment 0 zero stars I would. If you want to have a large celebratory catered dinner, DO NOT do it here! We had a reserved catered dinner for 80 and it was a HORRIBLE experience and ruined our senior night. We didn't just show up out of the blue. We reserved their banquet room and paid in advance! The food was terrible, the service was terrible, the manager/owner had a terrible attitude. Save yourself a lot of heartache, go elsewhere. I wrote the manager/owner, Luca, a letter asking to rectify the situation with a partial refund. He never bothered to reply. Here is my rant from my letter asking for a refund. ...Based on our previous experience with your restaurant and its strong reputation, we anticipated a high level of service, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet these expectations. Several issues led to our disappointment: * Inadequate Staffing: With only one server and one bartender/server for a group of 80, guests ended up refilling their own water glasses. Members of our group even assisted in helping prepare the buffet when dishes finally came out of the kitchen. The bartender was frequently assisting the server, meaning guests could not easily order sodas or additional drinks. We even had to buy additional bottles of wine to serve ourselves given the service delays. * Buffet Setup Issues: The buffet lacked basic preparation. Food came from the kitchen cold. Chafing dishes were missing water and sternos to keep the food even the slightest bit warm, so dishes were served cold. Additionally, food was left uncovered, which also contributed to the lack of warmth and freshness. * Food Quality: The food itself was disappointing. The chicken was cold, hard, and lacking in sauce. Worse, there was no pasta available when the chicken was served, and the chicken just sat there getting cold. We only had 2 dishes so for the timing to be so off is inexcusable. * Returned Food: A guest personally brought a cold plate of food to you, and upon touching it, you acknowledged it was cold and prepared him a fresh hot dish. We believe all of our guests deserved that same quality and service. * Unprofessional Staff Attitude: Staff members appeared overwhelmed by the demands of the large group and were, at times, rude. Despite these issues, we had left a substantial tip of over $1,000 prior to the event, expecting a high level of service. Unfortunately, the quality of service we received did not reflect this tip, given that members of our group had to step in to assist your staff to meet our guests' needs. * Guests Left Unfed: Many of our guests ultimately left without eating and incurred additional expenses by dining elsewhere due to the inadequate food and service. * Unresolved Refund: You had assured us of a refund, yet no amount was specified, and we have not received any funds to date.

Yelp
I felt like the food at La Tavola was sort of middle of the road, nothing bad but nothing great. I felt like the interior and ambiance were nice but not too special either. (It's possible I built up the restaurant in my head because I had tried to go twice before but the wait times were too long, so I thought it must be super popular for a reason.) The staff were wonderful though and the location is nice!

Yelp
Every time I come here, I forget how much I really like this place. The food has been consistently good and are good portion sizes. I was just here again for dinner with my friend and we had a great experience. We started off with mocktails. I got the La Rossa which was on the sweeter side but still great while my friend enjoyed his Limonello. We ordered the Burrata Fresca and Mozzarella Caprese to share which were both delicious. For my entree, I got their almond crusted fish and spaghetti special of the night while my friend chose the Linguini Taleggio. The sauce that came with my dish was creamy and so good. It was very filling after our two apps but I was still saving room for dessert as we ended up ordering Tiramisu. It was light and a perfect way to end a delicious meal. I really enjoy coming to dine here. The staff are all great and the food is just so good! Definitely one of my go to Italians around Little Italy.

Yelp
Don't buy into the hype on here. This place is highly, highly overrated. Ordered a few different plates- the sauces and veal / chicken are not done well. The service was the worst part of it all. Catty waiter, greeter made me feel like an inconvenience. Italian food deserves better.

Yelp
La Tavola is now under new ownership (miss you Carlo!) and we've gotten the food since several times. The pasta is still homemade and tasty and they've changed the interior to be a little more updated and cozier, which is a nice change. BUT my biggest grievance is they took the Spaghetti Neri off the menu which is a travesty!! That was my favorite dish and what I ordered almost every time. They replaced it with a squid ink ravioli with the same sauce. Still good, but they're using claw meat instead of lump crab (probably to save money) and I got a ton of shells when eating the filling. I'm sooo disappointed!!! I just hope they don't come for Carlo's cheesecake because that is the BEST!

Yelp
I am really late on this one. I ate there in October 2024 but I still dream about the place... I had a friend from out of town coming with me to a show in Baltimore. She let me choose the restaurant. I found that La Tavola makes an in-house gluten free pasta. HUZZAH! We got a trio of carpaccios got an appetizer. Then I ordered the fra diavolo with the house made strofe (the gluten free pasta). My friend ordered a Sardinian special. I could have picked the plate. Completely satisfied with my meal. The only thing that bothered me was the ambience. It felt cold, even though it wasn't temperature cold. We went on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. That makes me sad because their food and service is amazing.

Yelp
La Tavola is one of my favorite Italian restaurants! The linguini taleggio is an absolute must when you come. It's creamy and rich but the balsamic helps cuts through it. I also tried the lasagna which was great as well but the taleggio is definitely the way to go. The tiramisu was the perfect end to our meal especially paired with a macchiato. The service is excellent too.

Yelp
I don't venture into Little Italy often, so I was looking forward to trying this place out. Had out of town visitors coming, so wanted to show them what Baltimore had to offer. Service: standard. The host seemed bored upon entering. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed annoyed by our patronage. We were a party of 4 on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't terribly busy. Drinks: everyone agreed it was the best part of the meal. I had the lemon drop, which was exquisite. Food: Fine. Our calamari did not taste fresh. Everyone ordered a different entree and had mixed reviews. The squid ink pasta was the tastiest. I ordered the seafood linguini - more seafood than I was expecting, but lacked the flavor I was hoping for. Conclusion: not sure if I would go back on my own, but wouldn't mind returning if others wanted to try it out.

Yelp
Came in for a quick bite. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the quick service. The Brooklyn Love(espresso martini) was good. Nice to see they made a fresh cup of espresso for it. My lasagna was good and traditional. It was cold on the bottom, while warm on the top...so I probably would try something different next time.

Yelp
I chose this restaurant as the reviews were very positive and my usual go to was totally booked. We were able to park right out front on a very cold night. Nice start. We live in Cockeysville and usually go to Vito's Cafe or in Little Italy La Scala. La Scala was totally booked without a seat for 2 days. Waiter was very pleasant. The restaurant is very noisy and hearing the specials was a bit difficult. (my hearing is fine.) The table bread was dry and I'd prefer butter to oil but that's just a personal opinion. The seafood mixto was very good with fried shrimp, calamari, vegetables, etc. The marinara that accompanied it was also very good but could have used a bit more. My wife's salad appeared from the kitchen and was the wrong salad but that happens. The kitchen server was great but the look of disgust on our waiter's face when he was told was hard to miss. I guess he figured we made some mistake and not him. Not possible - she always gets Caesar salad. The problem at the restaurant was the main courses. My Chicken parmigiana was over cooked and the chicken was overly chewy. With a thin pounded chicken breast one needs to be a bit gentle on the cooking time. My wife had a linguini and seafood dish which was OK but nothing special. I had asked for a cake and candle for my wife's birthday via the reservation app. No cake ever came. Not sure if that's the app or the restaurant that messed up. We skipped dessert and had cake at home. No drinks so can't comment. All is all an OK restaurant but not special. I guess the half empty dining room when La Scale 100 feet away was full should have been a tip off. Will probably not return.

Larry S.

Yelp
Food was not impressive, not at all in line with the many highly complimentary reviews.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick drink and it didn't disappoint! The espresso martini was delicious. The waiter was nice. The restaurant is beautiful. Can't wait to go back to try the food.

Yelp
We love this restaurant. Unfortunately we returned recently with the same high expectations and were let down. The returning was recently sold from what we were told. The chefs table is no longer a thing even though the chef and staff at the time booked the table for us. Service was not at the same level it has been in the past. I hate to say it but I think we lost a gem. My hope is the quality of service improves and the quality of the preparation and presentation of the food returns. This is not to say the waitress was not friendly and accommodating, just you can tell that she was never prepared to serve in a more formal atmosphere. So if you want good Italian food they have it. Friendly staff. Just not what it used to be now. Sigh.

Yelp
We were grateful for an authentic Italian experience at La Tavola in Baltimore's Little Italy. Our meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Servers were attentive and personable. La Tavola's ambiance set the stage for a wonderful dining experience, and romantic evening for two.

Yelp
Oh my goodness yes. We had multiple things on the menu and they were all delicious. Anything you would order is going to be amazing. Service was great and our server was so friendly. Def coming back here again !

Yelp
Four and a half stars. I decided to go here with my wife and our best friend after our best friend picked up from a conference a couple blocks away at the Marriott for Sunday lunch. This was my wife's first time in Little Italy and this was the first time I got the Penne Puttanesca and my wife got the Ravioli alla Crema. We loved the pasta dishes we shared and enjoyed the 1623 IPA my friend and I ordered and my wife's Pink Peach. My penne was very Al Dente which was very nice. The service was great and the ambiance was nice with a lot of room between tables. Only reason to dock a bit is the prices were a bit high for Baltimore, portions for lunch were on the smaller side, and still a bit hungry, we opted to go to Vaccaro's a short block away rather than here due to the cost.

Yelp
We had not been to La Tavola in 21 years. Having recently come back to the area, now married, 20 + years later- we decided to visit again for nostalgia... 21 years ago when we were first dating and falling for each other. La Tavola was everything we remembered so fondly and SO much more! -Casual yet somehow feels very classic and upscale. -Superb and genuine staff -Pasta- homemade and the best we've ever had. -Atmosphere - classically upscale with ZERO pretentiousness 20 years later... our new (old) favorite.

Yelp
I LOVE when I find a good Italian place. We throughly enjoyed our food here but watch for the slow service. We ran into a service snafu with a drink taking 45 minutes to get to our table. We ended up sending it back and had to ask for the server to make it right. Giving 5 stars anyway in the hope that was a one time issue because we loved the rest! Burrata--I mean it's a classic and they did it right Lasagna--great! Truffle pasta--so truffley and yummy Spaghetti Neri Al Granchio--Squid ink pasta with crab. They were big chunks of crab as you can see it in the pictures. Cheesecake--good but a bit thin cheese layer left us questioning what we had ordered. Would probably try a different dessert next time but wouldn't say to avoid it.

Yelp
Food was amazing. We had the valentine's day 4 course special (2 of 4 shown). The only thing lacking was service, but our waiter was serving what seemed to be most of the lower dining room with help from the hostess. Will be back again to sample other items on their menu.
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
Wow! I wasn't there for Valentine's Day dinner and just wow. There wasn't a single thing on the many things we got I didn't love! The server was definitely slow but the food and drink we got made up for it. If you go I would 100% recommend getting the berries and cream drink for dessert (alcohol). I didn't see it on the menu but just wow that was beyond amazing!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Carole T.

Yelp
In-house pasta, count me in! Plus the new owner is introducing Sardinian dishes to the standards. Tonight we tried Culorgiones, dumplings of pasta stuffed with potatoes flavored faintly with mint. On top was a luscious short rib ragu. Dessert was dolce de leche mousse with a crunchie cookie crumble topping, delish. I love eating out at places with such invention and personalilty!

Yelp
Came across this Authentic Italian Restaurant in The heart if Baltimore and it was the Best decisión of the day!! Got there around 3pm and we were told that kitchen closes from 3-4 so the hostess said he would check with kitchen to see if he could take us. I was o happy to hear that he was serving us. We had perfect seats, I didn't get out servers name but she was extremely polite and super friendly. Ordered the lasagna and it was by far the Best I had in a while. The salad was delicious, dressing taste like it was homemade just like everything else I tasted. My assistant had the special Venison super flavorful, the meat was made to perfection!! So sad I had no room for dessert but I will be coming back to taste more of your menu. If you live in the area or are visiting make sure to stop by this authentic Italian restaurant in the Heart of Baltimore you won't regret it!! Outstanding customer service!!!

Yelp
Great experience, server was very kind, food was ok, I didn't love the sauce for the crab pasta. It was very al dente which I love. Burratta salad again was ok

Yelp
This was my first stop in Little Italy, and I absolutely loved it. First of all, the owner was walking around and supporting staff as well as customers, and I love that presence. The owner and I also talked about the chef, who seems phenomenal and hand-picks ingredients from a garden every morning for the kitchen. I am gluten-free, and I LOVED this GF pasta (one of, if not the best - I was already wanting round two the next day). The chef also occasionally can make special items on request, which I love and makes the experience feel personalized. For example, he made me a GF dessert which was not on the menu. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Located in Little Italy of Baltimore. Friendly staff; owner was very accommodating for our situation. Restaurant was busy when we arrived but didn't feel busy or overlooked. The food was excellent! Can compare to Italian found in NY/NJ. Smaller portions but just enough to not make you feel totally disgusting after. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Baltimore.

Yelp
Easy to make reservations online at Open Table, as well as modify and cancel. Service was exceptional from the host to our server, who explained the menu flawlessly, the specials, and his recommendations. Moderately priced Italian restaurant in Baltimore, entrees run for less than nearby Tagliata, plus they have happy hour 4-6pm Wed-Fri for some great appetizer and drink specials. All in all well priced for a nice Italian dining experience. Everything is made in-house from the pasta to the bread and sauces. You get complimentary bread which were warm, soft, and paired with EVOO. Antipasto Italiano - a great charcuterie appetizer. Olives, various meats, cheeses, goat cheese (that I actually didn't find repugnant!) drizzled with olive oil. A bit wet (maybe too much olive oil drizzled on top). Great paired with the bread. Linguine alla scoglio - lightly spicy tomato sauce that was fresh and a little sweet, packed with tons of seafood including nicely cooked scallops, shrimp, mussels. Tons of pasta in a deep dish, a big portion size. Linguine Taleggio - nice truffle flavor (could be a bit stronger but was there), cured speck was crisped like bacon, rich creamy cheesy sauce that was to die for along with mushrooms. Balsamic glaze provided on the side to cut through the richness. Portion was smaller than the other pasta dishes but due to its richness I think it's appropriate. Spaghetti Neri al Granchio - a good amount of jumpo lump crab meat, very light sauce, squid ink noodles were a bit tough in texture. Drinks: Pink Peach - a bit sweet and strong, good if you like a sweet peachy boozy drink.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and during restaurant week on a Friday night. Both times were pleasant experiences filled with hearty Italian comfort food. The staff is extremely friendly and down to earth. They were very attentive during light lunch service and still reasonably fast during a busy dinner service. The interior design and decor are rustic, reflective of the authentic feel of the restaurant and its food. The pastas are fantastic. They, of course, make all their own pastas from scratch. The squid ink pasta was cooked al dente along with well-cooked seafood in the dish. It was flavorful and a nice light pasta. The lasagna bolognese was heavier but so darn delicious. It's a must-order! When we came for dinner, we tried the caesar salad and calamari as appetizers. They didn't stand out but weren't bad. The rockfish cooked in parchment paper was tender and flaky. The flavors were more subtle than the pasta dishes. Dessert was perfectly proportioned. The cheesecake was less firm/set than expected but very tasty with berries and oreo flavors combined. The tiramisu was not too wet or too dry. They were pleasant finishes to the meal. Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping at La Tavola for hearty, delicious pasta made by people who clearly care!

Yelp
I took a day trip to Baltimore from DC and we decided to try this Italian place, because my partner wanted to eat some pasta~ I really wanted to like this place, because the service and the owner were incredible! However, focusing on the food, it was pretty average. We ordered the Frito Misto and the Gnocchi with Mushroom Sauce (switched out the tomato sauce). The Frito Misto is a calamari and shrimp appetizer with an assortment of vegetables. My favorite part of this dish was the zucchini, they were very crispy and I love a vegetable that you can't really tell is a vegetable~ For my dish, I had to try their homemade gnocchi, because I'm addicted to gnocchi... I switched out the tomato sauce for a mushroom sauce (so maybe it was my fault), but it was not that great... I did not really enjoy the taste of the gnocchi, it was somewhat flavorless which I know gnocchi is typically, but I've just had way better gnocchi in my life with some flavor... The owner was so incredibly nice though, he offered us a taste of their house made limoncello and made sure our table and every other table was well taken care of. You could really tell that he loves what he does. (The free shot of limoncello was soooooo strong! I took one sip and I had to stop... The Everclear just felt/tasted like rubbing alcohol.)

Yelp
I came to La Tavola for their restaurant week menu for date night. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food that we had, because we had heard such great things. Perhaps they had a different chef the night we went, but I'm not sure what was going on. The restaurant also wasn't crazy busy and we made a reservation beforehand. Service was a little slow but okay otherwise. Drinks: I got the sauv blanc and my husband got the Chianti. The wines were fine. They only brought us a wine menu and no cocktail menu. Appetizer - Mozzarella in carroza: very dry, no sauce, just cheese and mushroom in breading. Nothing special. Not very appetizing. - Fritto misto: very upsetting because it tasted like it was cooked earlier and reheated. The calamari was not crispy, the veggies were soggy. Main course - Cartoccio: we were very excited for this but it was not goodX The fish had a "fishy" smell and there was no "white wine garlic" flavor. I took a few bites and actually couldn't eat it because I thought I was going to be sick. I wonder if it was made beforehand and reheated. - gnocchi with pesto sauce: gnocchi was a weird texture but it was okay. The pesto sauce was honestly inedible. I couldn't taste any nuttiness/pine nut flavor. The basil and olive oil had separated and so it tasted like olive oil and gnocchi. I could not eat more than a few bites and I didn't bother taking it home. Dessert - cannoli: we expected this to be really good because we were at an Italian restaurant. The pizzella shell was not crispy and tasted stale. The filling was also not that flavorful. Couldn't finish the dish. - tiramisu: I can honestly say that this was the worst tiramisu I have ever had in my life. Genuinely less tasty than that from a chain restaurant, like Olive Garden. There was no flavor of coffee. It tasted stale as well. Couldn't finish the dish. Overall, we were just very disappointed in our experience. We kept hoping the following course would be better, but it didn't happen. We didn't say anything to the staff because we didn't want to make a big deal of it in front of the other customers. It's just really disappointed to have spent more than $150 for a meal for two where we both left disappointed and hungry. Hopefully this was just a bad day for the chef and the restaurant, but I will honestly not be returning. I don't think I've ever had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. I didn't bother taking any photos of the food either.

Yelp
A room with a bunch of tables and a small bar area. Server was nice. Food was served fast. Started with a basic white bread which was fresh and a little dish of unimpressive olive oil for dipping. I had the linguini Alla Scoglio which looked beautiful (forgot to take a picture) but the seafood was overcooked and disappointing.

Yelp
La Tavola offers a great selection of daily specials and Italian cuisine. It appears that their lasagna is a must try if you like lasagna. I have enjoyed their Spaghetti Neri al Granchio which is fantastic! It has crab meat in it and it's made with a lobster broth combined with squid ink infused pasta. I also enjoyed their bruschetta but if you don't like garlic stay away from the bruschetta. The service is phenomenal and they can accommodate various events in their upstairs area. If you are ever in Baltimore give it a try.

Yelp
Wonderful experience and great food. Was easily able to accommodate gluten free diner in our party. Server was very good. Attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Food items were enjoyed greatly.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal, the staff was exceptional! We had a great environment for conversation without having to talk over the patrons. Highly recommend La Tavola.

Yelp
Technically, I'd give this 4.5. We found this lovely location after being turned away from two other establishments that were booked due to special events (those places really should post it on their websites). We walked in and were seated almost immediately. We arrived on the early side and I'm glad we did because the place filled up about the time they took our order. Our server was fabulous and answered our questions. My dining partner started with a drink that she said was fantastic. She ordered the Pink Peach, which is Absolut Peach, Moscato, and Cranberry Juice. It was quite pretty. We shared an appetizer. The Carpaccio di Manzo, priced at $17, is described as rich and peppery arugula tossed in a zesty lemon vinaigrette served over thinly sliced raw Filet Mignon and finished with slices of Parmigiano Reggiano. It was excellent. The beef was fall-apart tender, the citrus of the vinaigrette tamed the arugula, and the salty parm-reg was the perfect foil for all of it. It was one of those plated you'd like to lick if nobody was looking. She was in the mood for traditional pasta with red sauce. They didn't have exactly what she wanted on the menu, but the server listened to what she wanted and made sure it was what she received. She ended up with a spaghetti type pasta in a pomodoro sauce. It looked very good. I ordered the Linguini Taleggio, priced at $25, which is described as homemade linguini in a bold Taleggio cheese sauce with freshly ground truffles finished with cured speck & piop(p)ini mushrooms. It was amazing. If you like pasta in a cream sauce and you like mushrooms, this is for you. The linguini was perfect, the cheese sauce was flavorful, and there was just enough speck to add a twist. I would have liked a little more speck and mushrooms, to look a little more like the menu photo, but it was really really good. Another lick the plate if nobody is looking dish. The only thing that I felt lacked a zing was the cannoli at $10. They describe it as handmade pizzelle cookies molded into cannoli shells stuffed with a ricotta cream filling, pistachio, almond & dried fruit. I assumed (incorrectly) that the pizzelles would be anise flavored, but they were plain (or vanilla at the most). The filling was good but lacked more than a few bits of nuts and fruits. If it had more of the nuts and fruit, I would have liked this dish a lot. Unfortunately, due to the pizzelle being bland and the cream alone being bland, this dish was just plain boring. If the pizzelles were anise (or even chocolate or orange or anything else) and the filling was heavy with those nuts and fruits . . . it would seriously be amazing. The server was great. The owner stopped by to talk to us. It was a great experience. Two thumbs up.

Yelp
I was in the mood for something hearty so I can here with my friend. It's right in the heart of little Italy, and it has great reviews so it was an obvious choice. We had a reservation but the place was practically empty so if you go during non peak hours, you'll be fine without RSVP. Now onto the food! I got the squid ink pasta with seafood and my friend got the lasagna. He said the lasagna was 8/10. It was very tasty and he cleaned his plate out. My pasta was mid. I love squid ink so I was a bit disappointed. It's not terrible but nothing spectacular either. Right in the middle. I didn't finish my meal. Our very nice waitress let us know that for pasta dishes, we can request them to be half size. This is definitely good to know. Not sure if I'll come back, but you never know.

Yelp
I ordered the spaghetti neri. My dish was nothing like the photos shown on the website. Instead of lumped crabmeat with tomato and spinach as shown in photos, my dish was a pile of the spaghetti with a lot of shredded crabmeat thrown in and a few bits of tomato and spinach tossed in as well. It was just blah. Service was okay but our server did not check back on us after the food was delivered to the table.

Yelp
~ Had the pleasure of visiting La Tavola while I was handling business in Little Italy. Off the back, I love their customer service. My waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and taste in general. This spot prides itself on unique northern Italy dishes. So they didn't have popular dishes on the menu. Creative dishes, but I'm not that advance with Italian food yet. So, I order the bruschetta "Della Tavola " & the lasagna bolognese dishes. Both were fresh and tasty. The lasagna is a very small dish, so don't expect to be full after you eat. Basic bread and the salad were nice. Nice vibes, and a very small bar area downstairs that fits about 8. I'd def go back when I wanna try something different. But if I'm going somewhere to eat something I've been desiring for a while, I'll go elsewhere. Hope you enjoy it. ~ #TeamDiesel #TeamDiesel4Evaaa

Yelp
We had the worst food experience last month here. My chicken parm was more like a piece of boiled chicken with a slice of cheese slapped onto it with a scoop of not so great sauce with three fingerling potatoes on the side (no pasta). My boyfriend had a seafood pasta meal that was not impressive either. I know and love good Italian food and this definitely isn't it!

Yelp
Food was good, fresh, and homemade. I think my server was pretty decent. As well as decent to average atmosphere. I liked that the food was fresh but priced a little higher than preferred. I think there are definitely places I've enjoyed more.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. Parking was a little confusing across the restaurant at the lot (have a $10 bill ready to stuff into your numbered lot box cos the parking attendant might not be there). We were promptly seated and had our order taken. We opted to split the burrata app which came with grilled veggies drizzled with a balsamic glaze. For my main I got the squid ink pasta with the lump crabmeat and tomatoes. It tasted a little bland at first but I asked for some red pepper flakes which oomphed up the flavor. My bf got the putanessca with shrimp and the tomato sauce was flavorful for it. They accidentally brought out the dish with chicken but immediately rectified the mistake and brought it out with shrimp within 10 minutes. Dessert was on the house if you check in to Yelp and it was delicious. I forget the name but it was a Gelato scoop with shredded coconut on top and there was some sort of a cake like base to it. Very delicious. Service was good and attentive as well. Very old school Italian place that I'd recommend checking out for sure.

Yelp
Great Italian restaurant in little Italy, perfect for a date night. I got a glass of wine to drink, but they do offer half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays! We started with a Caesar salad and the Frito Misto appetizer. They don't offer a side caesar salad, but the appetizer portion is great for sharing with the table. The frito misto was really good. I love that they make fresh bread and homemade pasta here. I ordered the lasagna bolognese for my meal and it was some of the best lasagna I've had.
