New Matcha Gelato Shop Aoko Matcha Opens in NYC | Eater NY

"A new Italian cafe, bakery, and restaurant straight from Tuscany is going to be making its U.S. debut this fall. La Tazza D’Oro will be opening in Union Square at 220 Park Avenue South at East 18th Street on Monday, September 8. La Tazza D’Oro — which has operated in Prato, Italy since 1984 — is expanding into America courtesy of LDV Hospitality (which runs Scarpetta and American Cut). The cafe will serve coffee (including its capolavoro macchiato), cremino (custard-filled pastries), pizza, pasta, salads, spritzes, and wines for dine-in and takeout." - Nadia Chaudhury

A really beautiful cafe. Loved the ambience. Ordered the latte and sfogliatino. The latte was very mid. I don’t think the barista is experienced, which is disappointing for an italian cafe. Sfogliatino was good. I would like to try their other pastries. Service was good but the coffee service on the slower side.

Really lovely spot for coffee, tea, desserts, or a glass of wine. They also serve lunch from 12–3 pm and offer fresh salads all day. The interior is elegant and thoughtfully designed with an authentic Italian touch. The staff is attentive and welcoming. A great place to relax and enjoy good food.

Tazza doro is one of Italy's three most famous coffee shops. The cappuccino is excellent, and the espresso matini with a hint of mint is fantastic. The pistachio croissant is a perfect match with the coffee.

What i loved the most was the interior design and the vibe. I only tried the cremino pastry. It was good, about $8 They have savory options too. Good foe breakfast, lunch, a bite, aperitivo, dinner. An authentic Italian spot on Park Avenue South right by Union sq

Such a beautiful cafe / restaurant! Their pastries and desserts are delicious. They were pretty packed on a Thursday around 2:30pm, but I did see some open seating.

Hands down one of the best Italian New York experiences. I felt like I was in Italy with the cappuccino bar at the back and all of the beautiful pastries and delicious coffee. The chef came out with some homemade panettone and everyone in the place had a smile on their face. This is a must-see for coffee, pastries or a feeling of being in Italy.

Walking in feels like being transported to a chic Italian café. The sweet treats bring out all the classic Italian flavors, with pastries that are deliciously filled. Worth stopping by early in the morning for a little taste of Italy to start the day.

It was a wonderful experience dining at La Tazza D'Oro recently. The atmosphere was unrushed, I spent over 2 hours there with family. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I love the cafe feel of the restaurant. It makes you feel like you've been transported to Europe. Forgive me if I'm spelling your name incorrectly, Ajem our server was very pleasant and attentive. The front hostess Abbie was also very pleasant. The pastries are delicious along with the coffee. I look forward to dining here again soon.

Yelp
Real classic Italian outlet . And worth the attention. I tried the chestnut tart , very easy to fail with the chestnut cream , but they NAILED IT ! Excellent!!! Their espresso is as expected fantastic. Great service , beautiful space . I will definitely go back to try their focaccias and other treats . Highly recommended !!!!

Yelp
The Sfogliatine Crema was incredible. Would definitely go back for it. Espresso was also good. The ham and egg panini was ok. They had problems heating it but they finally got it hot and it was ok. I probably wouldn't get that again. The rest of the pastries looked amazing though. Nice atmosphere and service.

Yelp
This place is cute and bustling. I ordered the pistachio croissant. It's so hard to come by and when you do, it's usually not good. Theirs has a rich pistachio butter in it. Absolutely divine. Since Amy's closed, I haven't be able to find a good one aside from that popular spot near The Roxy. I also had a vanilla iced latte which was strong but I think that was due to the milk choice. I feel like a lot of people don't know the difference between skim and 2%. Skim has 1% on the packaging. I had to add whole milk to my drink because it was skim milk which I find to be absolutely repulsive. I'd rather drink water than skim milk lol. The lady was rather sweet but I do have that issue pretty frequently where baristas don't know the difference between 1% and 2%. I can tell when I'm being handed the drink due to the color. The drink isn't as creamy. It's more of muddy brown color. I feel like I need to just get whole milk at this point. She was very sweet though and I even went back to buy some margherita pizza to go. It was okay. Missing some basil.

Yelp
Just stopped by this place to pick up two flat whites and two cornettos. It looks very inviting and the display case had some yummy looking pastries. So... the ambiance pulls you in a bit. The issues, first, you open the door and the music is blasting too loud. Second, the counter person took my order, but started helping someone else before she put my order in. Then she left the counter for around five minutes. Third, during this time the barista was making coffee orders ONE CUP at a time as slowly as a sloth!!! No sense of urgency!!! It felt as if he were brand new and should not have been at his post by himself yet. And there was a problem with the order he was working on. Finally counter person comes back with another person. He start taking orders. Counter person starts making my order. She gives me two flat whites where the shots were just plopped in (no finesse, nothing). I am there for 15-18 minutes when it should have been 6 minutes max! The coffee was bitter and the milk not hot. I spent over $20 plus tip and it was stressful, slow, and disorganized! Not a well oiled machine for sure! No one with skin in the game was handling the front of the house and there should have been!!! Too many other/better place Togo than to deal with this situation again. Yes, I am being a little harsh, but honest. Hopefully they get better.

Yelp
Really nice spot to sit and have a latte and pastry and just relax. The interior is really well done (hard to believe this used to be Haru!) and has a nice vibe. Service was very friendly and the biscotti cookies were perfect.
