Such a great place to eat. Big portions, delicious food, amazing service and good prices..

Had a great lunch, the margarita was delicious after a difficult day. The tamale was pretty good. Still new to the topping of beef and salsa or whatever it is. The chicken quesadilla was melty and delicious 😋. The rice had a good flavor. I'll definitely be back.

The food is 10/10 authentic. They make homemade tacos fresh in the window

Worst Experience Ever! Give it zero stars!!! Server was rude and very inattentive to my needs! Food quality was off. Server never asked me if I needed a refill and saw that my cup was empty after walking by multiple times to tend to other guests. Lastly asked if I wanted more cheese dip and proceeded to charge me for it without even saying there’s a charge. Don’t waste your time here. It used to be really good. #Overpriced #FajitaNachosBlah #PoorService

We were craving tacos and margaritas, and since this restaurant had some good reviews, we decided to check it out. For margaritas, they only had 2 flavors when we went, so we got the strawberry and the regular margarita. They were okay but paired well with the meal. We ordered a few tacos and decided to get plates. I got the cheesy chicken, shrimp, and steak with rice, and I thought it was really delicious and the portions were great. My fiance got a platter that had different meats, and it came with tortillas, beans, and rice. My only complaint was that our server didn't come around, and we'd have to track him down if we wanted a water refill, straws, or other stuff we needed. Overall, we enjoyed the plates we got, we'd probably skip the tacos next time, but the main dishes were good. The margaritas were okay, and I just wish they had more flavors.

This will be the last place I go to. The food was not the best. Don’t come and waste your money. It’s pretty expensive if I say so myself. There was not enough flavoring on the food, very small portions, and the food was cold. When I first walked in I got sat and the waiter brought drinks and chips. We order a side on small Wacamole and they brought us the smallest one I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. Then took are order when we were ready. Literally not even 5 minutes passed we got are food. Which is not bad but also questionable. The place was pretty full… anyways I paid $70 for three basic plates. But remember really small portions so if you are in a diet or don’t usually finish your plate and is willing to spend a good amount here is the place to come.

One of the best places in town amazing food drinks are really cheap very welcoming atmosphere. You can’t go wrong. Go there. They got you. Very good time for sure. Best place for the weekend hands-down

This place is amazing. Please don’t judge it by the parking lot. There is 6 huge TVs. It’s well decorated and the food is great! I’m glad I stumbled upon this place. It’s my second time here this week!

Pretty disappointing meal today. When you see Mexicans all going to the Mexican restaurant you'd assume it's going to be amazing food. YUCK! No flavor at all. The chicken chimichanga was ok but the hamburger meat is flavorless. Beans and rice are terrible. I was completely disappointed and didn't even eat my meal. I asked for sone of the homemade tortillas but he never brought them. He brought the food and never came back. I had to go chase him for the check.

We celebrated a 1 year old's birthday party here because the food is great and the staff is so nice and they're also very consistent. One of the birthday boy's favorite employees ran out and got him a sweet sweet present. So unbelievably nice and kind. Hats off to La Terraza Restaurant for celebrating with us!! Muy muy bueno!!! We came to have a drink that they had post led on TikTok. We ask for it and they said that it was not On the menu but they agreed to make it for us. They say it didn't had a name for the drink. So we told them that we had a name for it. And we called it the Juliana. Sis be it was mango margarita with so. Julio tequila with some chamoy and lemon. It was delicious and very big. They made it On a Don Julio Bottle. We also ordered chiles Rellenos since today is Friday and we are on Lent. They chiles rellenos came with rice for me and for My sister rice bean and cheese burrito and beans. Food was delicious. The waiters were very attentive and we also had chips and salsa. The salsa needed to be a little spicier for our taste so we added some Tabasco green salsa from a bottle so it became very tasty. Very delicious. If we live here in Nashville we sure would comeback again. Very recommend. The drink was pretty big so we took out time to enjoyed it.

I have eaten here for years and stopped in for dinner yesterday. Solid option for Mexican food with good freshly made flour tortillas. I had the "Special Jalisco". My wife had enchiladas. Good friendly service, and standard Mexican food about sums it up.

It was okay, the fish was very much generic, I define could have bout the tilapia and went home and prepared it my self and it would have tasted more interesting.

This restaurant has the most amazing tortillas. ..made fresh there everyday. If you love fajitas, they are must try. I love the corn tortillas the most. Always fresh food and super nice folks there.

We met some friends here so we had a rather large party with a lot of kids. First off, the music was so loud we literally had to scream at people for them to hear us. It was awful. While our food came out quickly, mine was cold (I ordered street tacos), and was incorrect. We won't be returning to this place.

FLAVORLESS!!! The picture are deceiving. 1) GUACAMOLE: brown all over, inside and out. Mentioned it to waiter and he said is was freshly made the same day (not freshly made, meaning the morning) but it was obviously mixed with OLD brown guacamole. 2) HAIR: Black 4-6" black hair on the quesadilla. I have blonde hair. They "replaced" the plate for a new one. 3) NO SEASONING: we ordered a seafood soup was water with fish flavor.

This place is a gem. The service is fast, the food is great, and the prices are even better. Best cheese dip around too. I highly recommend coming here!

I have been frequenting La Terraza for 15 years, but I can say it has gone downhill in the past 5 years. I return every once and a while to see if things have changed, but they have not. The menu has expanded in variety, but also has inflated in price, and for what La Terraza is and offers, it should not cost $20 a person to eat it, when there are other Mexican restaurants in the area that have better or the same food. Last time I went in, it was packed and our waiter didn't come back for even our drink order for 40 minutes. I was just about to get up and leave and he came over apologizing because he thought the waitress nearby had our table. He was nice about it, but that's still a long time to be sitting there. Sometimes they have live music, but if you are seated in the same room, it is way too loud to a point it's not enjoyable. If La Terraza could improve their service and lower their prices to a reasonable amount (it's Mexican, for God's sake!), it would be better but I'd rather go to Fogatas across the street.

We went to "La Terraza" one day before going to the grocery store. It is located on Nolensville Pike Rd in the Old Hickory Shopping Center between Kroger's and Babies R'Us.. We had never been here before and I didn't read any reviews before we went..so we were winging it. It turned out pretty good. The restaurant is large and clean. The workers although hispanic (of course hence Mexican cuisine) spoke GREAT english..the salsa was FAB...I could drink the stuff or run it through my veins...LOVED IT. We ordered our food and it was delivered very quickly and it was Very good. We would definitely go back again. We both recommend it totally to anyone. Give it a chance!!! on 11-02-2012 we REvisited the La Terraza restaurant for dinner. It was about 6pm , on a Friday night and we were the only patrons..my hubby got worried and said "you should have checked Yelp first"...lol !!! The interior has had a new revamp, with new chairs and better lighting to make it look brighter and cleaner..the bathrooms was horrible. I ordered the Burrito Terraza..it was so salty and I got sick almost immediately 1/2 way before I was finished. My hubby got the Burrito Mexicano, it was a pork burrito with NO SIDES...so he thought the description included beans and rice, but the waitress said NO..lol!!! It was good he had no complaints. I got out to the parking lot and got sick again!! and then at Walmart I got ill twice..hummmmmm.....I won't be eating there again!!!

Chairs are uncomfortable and clumsy. Floor looks old and filthy. Ceiling tiles have water damage. Not a good start. The salsa was bland. It had "heat" but little flavor. A bundle of chopped cilantro would do wonders. And the chips are weak--had to be out of a bag. That's a mistake for a place that supposedly makes their own tortillas. Just not all that impressed.

Just okay but I wouldn't go back considering the plethora of other Mexican joints in the area and a 90% chance that any one of them will probably be better. Seating is kind of crowded and one of the legs on my chair was broken and wobbly. Friendly service and we got the food pretty fast. But boy oh boy was it bland....the most basic of basic that you can get and still somehow call it Mexican food. Plus, small portions which I haven't really encountered before at this genre of restaurant. I'm a small woman and I was still hungry after I ate all of my food and a lot of chips and salsa. Nothing particularly BAD but definitely nothing special for me.

We went for a quick drink and appetizer. The appetizer was taking a while so we got it to go and somehow ended up paying $18 for a beer and chicken wings! After reading some reviews I guess there is a to go fee? Kind of bullshit that they don't tell you. Way way overpriced when there is so much better food in the area. Also, online it says there is a draft beer deal on Wednesday's and the waitress said there isn't so they need to update that.

Coolest people. The employees are super sweet the food is always amazing. Theyre margaritas and chips n dip are always on point. And they're beef tacos are A1 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone

Hector was the worst waiter .. he tries to over charge us other than whats on the menu. We waited forever on our food and when it did come it was cold. When i asked questions about it he started speaking spanish. He was rude and didn't care. They are a hot mess in there. Do not go to this place

Everyone who works here is SO NICE. Really. You'll feel like it's your birthday or something. Every time I go, I get the authentic tacos because they're cheap, filling, and delicious. Chicken, cilantro and onions on corn tortillas, with a side of avocado and lime = YUM! The steak fajitas are great, too, if you're super hungry. Margs are not life changing, but they're cheap, sooooo. Go here!

I feel like I got ripped off. About $30 for six tacos, a coke and a water. Food was decent, but the price is WAY to expensive for what you get. There are tons of other Mexican restaurants around here that aren't going to rip you off

pésima experiencia el 19 de febrero. la comida estuvo muy fría y tardo mas de 25 minutos para llegar a mi mesa. aparte de la espera normal, la espera de la comida fue larguísima. mi bebida tenía una hoja de cilantro y el plato combo veracruzano estuvo horrible. nada de sabor en la tilapia. creo que el ambiente fue mejor que la comida. very disappointed.

This is the spot in Nashville for Mexican Food. Always delicious. We start by adding a side of pico & guac with our chips/salsa. Both are fresh, and pico is delicious also mixed into the table salsa. I sometimes enjoy Taco Authenticos (a la carte) which are delicious and light. Choice of meat (I highly suggest the chorizo for atleast one), diced onion, fresh cilantro on corn tortilla, served with a wedge of avocado and wedge of lime. Other days I endulge in the Enchiladas Rancheras- corn tortillas filled with choice of cheese, chicken, beef, chorizo, or pork, rolled then topped with enchilada sauce, grilled onions and peppers, and finished off with lettuce, guac, and sour cream. Oh my. Yum. Yum. The hubby also enjoys the Taco Authenticos but finds a happy stomach after smashing a Grilled Gringa Quesadillas. Steak, chicken, cheese, or veggie quesadillas with grilled onions and peppers, cheese, rice, and beans plus guacamole and sour cream. Good beer / margarita specials on the right days. So venture to South Nashville for the deliciousness that is La Terraza.

One of my family's favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. The salsa & cheese dip are always good and fresh. They have some of the best pico with a kick that you can find. Give it a try! Sometimes the serves isn't 100% but it's not terrible.

Who charges a fee to take their food home with them because being in a comfortable environment is a million times more enjoyable than an extended stay in a restaurant staffed by rude and condescending individuals who literally make you feel like everything you do is an inconvenience of epic proportions to them. Customers are actually charged to eat their food somewhere else? No matter how big or small an amount it is absolutely insane that this is actually a thing that businesses do. I'll start making my own tacos so i can charge the grocery store a fee for me having to make them myself and see if that catches on.

As someone who grew up surrounded by some of the best Mexican food you can imagine in Northern California, I make it my mission to seek out all the Mexican food I can find in Nashville. La Terraza is authentic and they always hit their mark. They make their tortillas in house and they are perfect. I could dip them in the queso and make a meal of them by themselves. Be careful when it comes to their margaritas and mixed drinks here....they are delicious but they are STRONG. Last time I was here I had 3/4 of one and I was definitely feeling it. Perhaps eat a nice big full dinner with it if you're a lightweight like me. Tonight we got the chorizo queso which is a touch spicy and has just enough grease for flavor. I wasn't as hungry tonight after munching on that so I went light after the appetizer and ordered two chicken tacos a la cart. The chicken was well-seasoned and tasty and I decided to be adventurous and add some of the chorizo queso in it...even better. My boyfriend got Chili Verde for his dinner which was spicier than I could handle, but the pina colada I sipped at helped keep me cool. This isn't the place for a quick dinner, it's so much more fun to sit and order a couple courses with some drinks. There's too much good food here not to.

It absolutely kills me to say this, but this place has gone downhill a bit. For years, La Terraza was my go-to place for Mexican food, whether it was with friends, family from out of town, or just to pig out by myself, it was always awesome. However, something has changed in the past year or so. I will say that the service is and always has been impeccable. My only real pet peeve while dining out is waiting a long time for a drink refill, which NEVER happens there. The servers are very attentive, fast, and friendly. The food however is another story. You can usually gage how good it will be overall as soon as you try the salsa. The past couple times I've been there (including tonight) it's been kind of watery and bland. The actual dinner was about the same....chimichanga, rice, refried beans, and taco were all pretty flavorless. It never used to be this way. Don't know if they've changed some recipes, got new vendors, or what..... I won't say the food was horrible, because it wasn't. Just sort of mediocre. I'm afraid they're going to have to step up their game a bit if they want to compete with the dozens of other Mexican places in the area.

On point. Every. Single. Time. Chuys's ain't got nothing on this. Service is always good. Handmade corn and flour tortillas on demand. Best Tex-Mex in Nashville.

Ordered take out and it was ready quickly. We got a quesadilla and 2 chile rellenos, and some queso and guacamole and the total was somehow 40 dollars. The quesadilla was soggy, everything needed to be seasoned more, and everything was lukewarm even though we got home 5 minutes after picking it up. There's tons of other mexican restaurants in the area that are probably a lot better.

I visited la Terraza on Monday night 9 14 15 and my service was horrible I ordered grilled chicken and cheese tacos and got shredded chicken I sent it back and I received no refill on my drinks my girlfrieseveral times and the service and food were great but this time may keep me from coming back. Horrible experiencend ordered guacamole and she never received it finally we ordered sopapillas and they were burnt to a crisp. I have eaten here

Came here kind of spontaneously not really knowing what to expect. Walked in and heard live mariachi music which was a bit loud but I loved. This is one of those places you know isn't the most authentic. A bit of that americanized mexican restaurant style with some classic dishes. If you come in expecting authentic greatness you will be disappointed. However, if you are in the mood for some good food, great service, and that style of mexican inspired food that just calls out for one of those salty margaritas made with that pre-made sour mix then this is your place.

Very little room in between tables so very inconvenient for families with children/infants. Poor service, if it's your birthday definitely don't go there. They slap whip cream in your face and up your nostrils. It was very aggressive and very unsetting experience. Food did not taste good, not even the basics (the rice was way too salty). The meat was dry and had no flavor. The music was extremely loud, especially for kids. Overall service was slow and overall experience was horrible.

This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Nashville area. The staff is welcoming, especially the main manager who has worked there for at least the past 7 years. They always bring fresh, warm chips plus salsa as soon as you sit down, so you have something to enjoy while waiting on your main course. I'd highly recommend the tacos authenticos and the fajitas, and my wife recommends the gringa. Kids will find lots of options as well. No Mexican meal is complete without a margarita, and La Ta makes some great ones. On the weekends, there's occasionally some live Mexican music, so keep that in mind when picking which side of the restaurant you want to sit on. We highly recommend La Terrazza.

I've been at this location a few times I even did a review on my restaurant page called greater nashville reviews. I went in resently and as normal theirs a lady making something to do with bread how ever on this trip she burned something which caused everyone in the restaurant to gag ..not sure if I'll ever be back it was the worse gagging I've seen in a restaurant

The to go orders don't come with chips. I got salsa so maybe they just forget the chips? I ordered the chicken fajitas for one. The portion size of my beans are very skimpy. I'll need to try dining in the next time.

I would go back , The best homemade flour tortillas , The food was delicious and hot , and more than enough food , I couldn't eat it all and that's unbelievable . This place is located next to tough competition, they hold their own being located next to one of the best restaurants in the city, subculture Café , which is also five stars.

Despite living across the street from this restaurant for well over 4 years - I had never been there. Much less even really acknowledged its existence. ILast night a friend and neighbor was having a welcome home party for his dog - since he had been missing for 9 days. Well, a 2 hour party turned into a 5 hour party - finished off by a short drive across the street to La Terraza for some food and more drinking. Even though I was aware of it being there - I still had never been. Instead opting to go to El Sombrero just down the street at Lenox Village. Seating at 7pm on a Sunday night was very easy and they happily accommodated our group of 6 people. We weren't seated very long before the server came over and got our drink orders and delivered them very quickly to our table along with copious amounts of chips and salsa which, by the way, was very nice and flavorful. I can see where some people may not like the salsa because it isn't super chunky - its a pretty smooth salsa. But I like that personally. I pitcher of margaritas we were served was very, very good. A friend of mine talked to another table of people who were drinking something out of these huge glasses and he asked them what they were drinking. They said it was beer with clamato juice - they described it as a beer based bloody mary. Several of the members of my table tried and described it as being very good...but I don't like bloody mary's OR beer - so I doubt I'd enjoy it. But it was interesting to look at none-the-less. For dinner - I had the Chimichanga with re-fried beans and rice. It was VERY good. The crust for the chimi was light but held together well. The melted queso blanco they pour over top was very good as well. The re-fried beans were a little runny - but the rice was very good. More than anything - everything tasted fresh - which was great. You could really taste all the ingredients. All in all - it was a good place for a good meal. The restaurant was clean. The service was friendly and efficient. It was a fun atmosphere for sure. Its a new restaurant (for me) close to my house that I won't hesitate to visit again in the future - if not for the food - for the margaritas for sure!

I swear it seems like I'm in here at least once a week; as I noted in my last update, they recognize me now. My service is always excellent, no matter which server takes care of us. They appear to work as a team both for tips and in actual service, based upon some interactions I've noticed when the time comes to pay the bill at the cashier. I wish my tip went to just my server; I like to take good care of people so they remember me, and remember me fondly. Oh well, I can't tell them how to pay their staff. As far as the food is concerned; I had the chicken chimichanga and my wife ordered a cheese enchilada and two tacos off the a la carte menu. As usual, the food was great, served quickly and hot. The chimichanga was fried perfectly and the guac, pico, and mexican rice that accompanied it were good as well. I especially enjoyed the guac, it's got just the right amount of avocado chunks and is subtly spicy, full of flavor but little heat.

Our favorite restaurant in Nashville...we've been eating here for many years. It's consistently very good. Our favorites are the Tacos Authentico made with their homemade tortillas. But if you're really hungry, the parrillada platters. Wonderful seasoning on their grilled meats-the taste of La Terraza. We've always had great service from their very nice staff.

Food and service are excellent! Despite how busy they were, our waitress kept checking on to see if we were okay. I ordered Nachos fajitas and it was delicious and very flavorful!

Charles S' review is on point. I will add that the speed of service is extremely fast w/o compromising the preparation of the food. The freshly made tortilla chips are probably the best in Nashville and the accompanying salsa is extremely fresh and delicious. Def. worth a visit if you're ever in the area.

Went there for the first time and they were tasty and quick. There was a party of 10 of us and they had no problem splitting the bill or serving the food quickly. Some of the folks at the table had a less-than experience with the food, but my chimi was done up right. Scrumptious. Prices were affordable and not exorbitant. The place didn't knock my socks off, but they did a great job. 4.5 stars!

Being that I'm 6 months pregnant, and a fan of Mexican American cuisine, this review will be a little biased. I love the feel of this place. It is packed tightly in a strip mall, but feels like a free-floating establishment once inside. The staff are kind and friendly. They work quietly and efficiently. The food is always good, and in plenty. I'm a fan of their chicken chimichanga (because really, how much healthier can you get with fried burritos smothered in "cheese sauce" [read: sarcasm]), and their Tacos Authenticos. And, though a small detail, I love that they serve their drinks in those rather large plastic cups (IE, troughs). The only whiny complaint I have is that they do little with carnitas. And I miss carnitas. I used to get fresh carnitas with cilantro, onion and lime when I lived (albeit briefly) in Cali. And I miss it muchly. The carnitas I've found here is just subpar by comparison - too fatty, overcooked, and bland. But I digress... The prices are, of course, fantabulous. A family of five can easily eat here for under $30. And the drinks are made well (margarita night - GOOOOOO).

Best Mexican food in Nashville, particularly if you order anything off the grill - just awesome!

We moved here from LA 13 years ago and soon realized that the best ethnic food overall can be found on Nolensville Rd. La Terrazza is a great example. Tonight we had some of the best Chile Verde we have ever had here. They of course serve it with their homemade corn or flour tortillas ( we prefer the corn) . Be prepared for some spicy (which we love) Verde. It had perfectly stewed chunks of tender pork that absolutely melted in your mouth. I ordered the Mojarra Frita ( whole fried tilapia). It was served with well seasoned white seafood rice. The fish was delicious, but, sadly really small. There was not enough meat on it's bones. On our previous visit, we ordered th Parrillada Especial for two which included sliced steak, pork chops, chicken breast, chorizo and quesdillas...served with avocado, tomatoes and freshly made tortillas. It also included grilled cactus...what a treat! If you are looking for a real mexican restaraunt with good service and an authentic menu outside of the box...give La Terrazza a shot. You won't be disappointed!

This is my favorite mexican restaurant in Nashville so far. Really good food, the wait staff takes care of you, good drink specials, always get a seat right away.

To sum up this place in one word: Bland. Walking up to the door promises a legit dining experience when you see the homemade tortillas being cooked in the front window, but the rest of the food fails to live up to the expectation. The salsa tasted like plain tomato sauce (no onions, cilantro, etc in it) and we were served cold stale chips to go with it. The tomatillo salsa wasn't bad (had to ask for that specially), but that didn't solve the stale chip problem. My husband and I ordered the chicken fajitas, and while they weren't bad, they weren't great. I enjoyed that there were tomatoes in the fajita mix (not all places do that), but the chicken was pretty bland - didn't taste like it had been marinaded at all. The rice and guac that came with it weren't too bad, but the refried beans suffered the same bland fate as the rest of our meal. The one high note? Those homemade tortillas. Those were delicious! The restaurant seemed understaffed to us. Our server seemed to be taking care of a large section, which kept him extremely busy. While our fajitas came out pretty fast, he wasn't able to get us the tortillas for quite a while. We weren't going to hold it against him since he was so busy trying to take care of a bunch of tables, but it was a little frustrating to sit and stare/pick at my food for nearly 10 min waiting on tortillas. Despite the staffing issues, the staff was very nice. However, I think the most offensive thing was that while we were eating, not one but two people (two separate times) came up to us to solicit money for some organization. The first woman wouldn't leave our table even after we both said "no, thank you" multiple times! Excuse me, but I'm trying to have a nice dinner with my husband. I don't want people barging up to my table to ask me for money. I don't know if management knows these people are doing this, but if they do and are allowing that, I think that is inexcusable. So, in closing, I personally have no plans to go back here. There are so many other Mexican restaurants in the area that offer tasty menus and good cooking. I'll just go to one of them.
