"Nestling at the foot of a 14C tower in the heart of the famous wine-growing village, this traditional townhouse boasts an elegant, contemporary dining room offset by a scattering of period details (beams, ceiling and mouldings). Simplicity, authenticity and bags of character are the hallmarks of the food characterised by premium ingredients that keep pace with the seasons presented in an enticing lunchtime menu (that is also a steal!) and a surprise menu available in different versions in the evening. There is also an entirely vegetarian menu." - Michelin Inspector

"At the Michelin-starred Restaurant La Tour on Sancerre’s main square, chef Baptiste Fournier forgoes today’s culinary trends for simple, sophisticated French fare. He offers just three starters (langoustines, salmon, and mussels) and four entrées (fish, chicken, beef, and lamb) on the weekdays, and a superbly priced five-course menu on the weekends, complete with fish and meat, a cheese course, and dessert. For those looking to indulge, there are also three set menus—the Promenade, Pleasure, and Confidence—that adhere to the same minimalism, but surprise with innovative flavor combinations. Whichever you choose, be sure to pair your meal with a bottle of local Sancerre."

Where to Go in France if You Love Wine - AFAR

"A compact, living-room–sized restaurant in Sancerre known for serving expressive local wines; a memorable pour of a rouge Sancerre exhibited velvety texture with wild strawberry and clove notes, prompting a visit to the producer to purchase bottles." - Kristin Braswell

Dining at La Tour was a wonderful experience. The restaurant offers creative and delicious cuisine. The experience was impeccable. The staff was wonderful and professional and very helpful. The setting is elegant but not pretentious. Added bonus: our wined being served by the chef/owner!! I highly recommend dining at this restaurant!

Such a lovely dinner in the very heart of Sancerre. Very cozy and well designed interior, with a warm welcome. The dishes were all created from local ingredients and seasonal with a big vegetarian focus on most dishes. A large wine list of Loire area wines at very reasonable prices with a few luxury vintages. Excellent service and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Celebrated our 42 wedding anniversary at La Tour. Their tasting menu with wine pairings was one of the best meals we had during our 3 week European vacation. Great value for money and highly recommended if you find yourself in Sancerre.

Expensive but worth it. We went for the 74€ menu and every course was sumptuous, served by efficient and knowledgeable staff. Very comprehensive wine list with far more on offer than the local Sancerre. A refined dining experience on par with the best.

It was delicious! I can really recommend this, especially to the foodies. Fresh, lots of flavor and elegant dishes. Also: very friendly staff and cosy setting.

Perfect in every respect. Suggest the "surprise" menu at lunch. You will receive about 8 different servings all superb. Wine selection with appropriate assistance is also superb.

I came here with my family in the spring of 2016! One of the best dining experiences I have ever had in France! Immaculate and incredible cheese selection, the seasonal dishes were superb, it was well worth the money according to my parents and best of all, the kind and attentive staff were very accommodating no when it came to my disabled brother, making him a fantastic puree des pommes de terre a la minute and a light delicious protein (une petit poisson je crois)! So so grateful we could enjoy a Michelin started experience and that the people who served, hosted and cooked for us were so lovely!! Visiting and dining at La Tour is a must if you are in Sancerre!!

Yelp
The most AMAZING culinary experience of my life! I went to La Tour recently for my birthday and it was a perfect evening. The surprise menu was delicious and interesting. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. And the atmosphere was comfortable and light. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant and my experience there. Just PERFECT.

Yelp
This was an excellent dining experience. Simply, they earn their Michelin star. The courses flow together, they are brilliantly conceived. The favors intense with subtle saucing. They are a feast for the eyes as well. The only weakness is the menu descriptions do not prepare you for the excellence to come. Our simple dinner consisted of an appetizer with a foamed sorbet and fish with almonds. The salad was an exquisite garden that exploded with favors. Next was a squash prepared three ways. Main course, the cod was very light, delicate, perfectly presented, perhaps poached or sou vide? The fromage course was varied and exquisite although heavy for what we had to that point. But who can turn down french cheeses? For desert I had rhubarb confit. There are about ten tables, the room extremely comfortable and quiet. Timing of the courses was perfect as well. Excellent wine menu of the region. Our waiter suggested a very reasonably priced Sancerre SB that excellent. The entire evening cost was 112 euros, the best dining experience for that price I have experienced.
