Absolutely delicious food. Davin made me feel excited about being there and provided great insight and service. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.

This is for sure a hidden gem! I’m originally from Eastern Europe so I am always in search of good European food. This place is for sure the best one I have been to in California. Very good Czech food and the best draft Czech beer- those who have been to Czech Republic and loved their draft beer, this is a place for you! Also served in the classic Czech beer glass. All the food was amazing- huge portions, fresh. Huge variety of sides. The potato salad is my weakness and this one was so good! Amazing soft goulash and super crispy chicken schnitzel. And of course a cucumber and tomatoes platter- classic European side. Will definitely come back to try other dishes! Also was able to sit with the dog outside in the shaded area. Definitely checks this place out, prices are very reasonable too!

Delicious food! Have never tried Czech food before and this blew me out of the water! Flavorful and filling. Chicken paprikash was a hit! Free and delicious homemade bread. Ruby was our waitress and she was so great! Good selection of beer and wine. We’ll be back!

Google
Nice selection of Czech beers. Sadly they were out of my favorite Krušovice lager. Schnitzel and goulash were both rich and tasty. Kid menu ravioli was a hit with the kids. Not the largest portions, but nice to not over stuff. Sorbet dessert perfect ending.

I've eaten here a couple of times. Always quite good. Nice, fun place that's atypical of what is around Sacramento. However, on Nov 21st, after I had seen a flyer of a special wine paring dinner, they seriously and utterly dropped the ball. I called to make a reservation as the flyer stated I was required to. I made the reservation and on the 23rd was called back by La Trattoria and was told by a young lady that they were "not accepting reservations for this special dinner." She went on about how it was first come first serve, and I pointed out the flyer stated reservations were required. She told me that was a mistake and that they were going to fix it. Fast forward to the Dec 9th, and I called on my way to the restaurant. I was informed they were closed to the public for a, get this, "RESERVATION Only" dinner. Great job. Love calling three weeks in advance to make a reservation, be told that I should have made reservations to have dinner. Appreciate the communication. Will not be returning after such poor customer service and no attention to detail.

First time here, had a medium combination pizza. Easily now in my top 3 best ever pizzas. Recommend.

Google
Staff and atmosphere are wonderful. Good food great price. Highly recommend reservations small establishment that’s very popular. Had the bacon wrapped meatloaf special, the chicken Borsch , and another chicken dish all very good

Google
The food is so delicious, there’s no way to order wrong here and you’re given reasonable portions for the price. We made a reservation and upon arriving it was busy making it hard to flag down a staff to seat us, as well as long gaps in between being seated, orders taken, or getting the check. We also talked to others who waited for long times, so be prepared for a wait of it’s busy(although it’s worth it!) The outdoor/indoor dining options are cozy and have a unique charm, we will be returning!

Yelp
Pizza is excellent. The crust and sauce!!! Excellent selection of imported and local beers and wines. European menu delicacies. Clean, quiet, comfortable, on site parking, attentive staff. Best trattoria in East Sacramento.

Yelp
I came here with a friend last Saturday around noon. When we arrived, the open sign wasn't turned on and there no one inside except for a staff member. We were unsure if they were open, but we walked in and were greeted by the staff member. We had our choice of seating, and we chose one of the two-seat tables next to the window. There was a lot on the menu that we wanted to try so we ordered several dishes to share. We ordered the Czech Potato Pancakes, Spinach Ricotta Gnocchi, and a small 12" Chicken Paprikash pizza. As part of their lunch special, the gnocchi came with either a soup or salad. We opted for the butternut soup. The potato pancakes were very crispy. The apple sauce provided a touch of sweetness and tartness, and the sour cream balanced it out with its creaminess. These were good. I love butternut soup in general, and this one was delicious. The soup was creamy, well-seasoned, and overall yummy. At first glance, the gnocchi looked like green peas because of their shape. The gnocchi had a slight chew, and the spinach flavor was subtle. It was served in a creamy, rich sauce. Overall, this was good and enjoyable, and I loved the mushroom bits in it. Last but not least, the pizza. This was bigger than I expected. We definitely ordered more food than we could consume in one sitting. The crust was thick and crispy, yet still soft. The pizza was very cheesy (the cheese pull was there). As a cheese lover, I liked the pizza. Throughout our meal, more and more people came in and before we knew it, the restaurant was filled. After we finished our meal, it took a while to catch the attention of one the staff members to ask for to-go boxes and the bill. The staff was otherwise nice and friendly.

Yelp
Ok, probably closer to 3 1/2 but the outstanding service pushed it to a 4. We made reservations for 7:45 the day of. They said they were available. When we got there at 7:40 the diners before us had not left. No problem, I know they can't control how long people sit and talk. We sat at the bar and had a sangria. While we looked over the menu. They were very apologetic and updated to several times. It was much appreciated. I think we finally sad at around 8:00. Not the end of the world at all and like I said they were very apologetic. Then they brought out some complimentary bruschetta from the kitchen for our wait. It was a very nice gesture. They had a special beet salad which we split. It was outstanding. Beets, goat cheese, dried fruit, on arugula. It was the perfect balance of of sweet and balsamicy and peppery. We really really enjoyed the salad. W got the the chicken piccata. She said it was good but she has had better elsewhere. Nothing wrong with it and it was cooked well. Just that she's had better. I tried it. Something was missing that we just couldn't put our finger on. I got the beef goulash. I'm a big fan of slow simmered meats. When this came out it looked wonderful. But the flavor really fell flat. I added quite a bit of salt and pepper but the "gravy" lacked any real depth. And other than a couple of good bites that had some fat, the beef was very dry. And, since the gravy was pretty tasteless, it didn't make for a great combo. The Czech dumpling (it looks like sliced bread in the picture) was very good though. But here's where they lost a star and a half. The entrees were $29 and $31. For what's essentially European pub fare. And really not the greatest version of European pub fare that I've had. For that price I expected to be wowed, and I wasn't. But I do want to reiterate that the service was excellent. Everybody was friendly, kind and attentive. At the end of the day we got a $20 bottle of sangria, a shared salad, and two entrees and we walked out the door having spent over $130. For food that was just slightly above average.

Yelp
Delightful service, sparkling decor, delicious food. I told the waitress that the borscht was better than my grandfather's - and he loved borscht! The goulash with gluten free penne pasta was a standout. I'll be back for the chicken paprikash. I started my meal with an aperatif. You should too.

Yelp
The interior is small but nice, clean, welcoming, and well put together. We ordered a Czech beer, which was really good. One small downside was the Kirkland salt and pepper shakers on the table; swapping those for nicer bottles would elevate the vibe. For our first visit, we played it safe and ordered pasta and pizza, which unfortunately disappointed. The penne aglio e olio was overly oily, lacked parmesan, came with raw tomatoes, and tasted like it used store-bought fried garlic instead of fresh sautéed garlic. Presentation and flavor were both lacking. The margherita pizza was a decent personal size, but NO marinera sauce & overloaded with raw basil and very thick slices of raw tomato it felt more like a salad on top of bread than a classic margherita.... We were just confused. We also ordered the dumplings with beef gravy, which were decent and probably the best item we tried. However, we were overcharged ($10 instead of the listed $6), which we noticed after leaving. Overall, the space is nice, but the food lacked care. We may give it another try for their Czech dishes, but wouldn't order the pasta or pizza again. Service was good though.

Yelp
Food always on point. Great to have a menu with two cultures on the menu. Recommend reservations on weekends.

Yelp
Have been here on many occasions, but first time for lunch. The calamari appetizer was really good, chunks of 'steak' breaded and served with a good dipping sauce. The special of the day was beef stroganoff their style. It was extremely rich delicious with mushrooms, tender chunks of beef no noodles like I'm used to but the bread they served the table fit in nicely with this dish. Service is always great and the ambiance is true Czechoslovakian and Italian. They even have artwork for sale!

Yelp
I was wooed into this establishment by the outside sign indicating lunch specials. I ordered various sides from the lunch special menu, including dumplings, spezil , and potato pancake cake. Oh my goodness! The majority of the food is outstanding! The Dumplings appeared to be bread with sauce on it, however the bread was handmade. The potato pancake, perhaps cause it was a lunch side dish, didn't come with the apple sauce that other yelper photos show. They also make their own pizza dough and pasta. I particularly enjoyed learning about the history of this restaurant, which was started 25 years ago. The staff members were very friendly - particularly Hana. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings. It is a charming little place with an ambiance that transports you and service that is always friendly. That said, I have two main complaints about it. First is that the food is consistently underwhelming. The picture that I have included is of perhaps the only entree that I have personally liked, the Bohemian Goulash. It was delicious, and deserves some recognition, but unfortunately the majority of their other entrees leave me wanting more flavor for what I'm paying. I have heard that the lasagna is good as well and the salads are good, but personally, I'm always left wanting more. That leads to me my second complaint, prices here are just too high. The ambiance is that if a pub, and as I said before, it's a nice ambiance, and their pub food is rightly priced for the most part, but their entrees are on average $30. This last time, we left having paid nearly $120 for two drinks, two appetizers, two entrees, and two unsatisfied stomachs. Again, the service is amazing as is the ambiance. If you are going, I recommend eating and drinking only the pub related items and saving your wallet and pallet the disappointment.

Yelp
On a busy Wednesday night in Midtown, we were struggling to find a place with a reasonable wait. I scrolled through options in Yelp, and finally luckily stumbled on this great place. Czech and Italian options, and great beer! Our server, Cynthia was very attentive despite having a full house. Friendly frequent patrons we met whilst waiting outside gave us amazing recs! Love the bread side with garlic herb dipping sauce. The house salad was great as well. My selection of the sausage plate did not disappoint. The potato pancake side was incredible. I enjoyed both the wheat beer and the tripel. Overall, a very welcome place with the staff and patrons. We will definitely come back the next time in Sac!

Yelp
I have never had a bad meal here and I have tried most of the menu but their Paprika Chicken pizza is something that my taste buds wish lived closer to me but my waistline is relieved it doesn't. It's a small place but cute inside. Go on an off time to avoid the crowds, make a reservation if you can but honestly, it's worth the wait for a table.

Yelp
I really really wanted to enjoy this place , unfortunately this was not the case Although the customer service was lovely , there were still things they could improve on ( such as reservations; having table reserved & closed off for expected parties) - I called twice to get a reservation, first time they placed me on hold -2nd time it wasn't the friendliest When I got to the restaurant 15 minutes prior to reservation , the waitresses looked confused , they also didn't have a host / hostess My friend recommended this place but it did not hit the mark , menus could use some tlc , their drinks weren't all available Food : My friend got ravioli and for the price it did not seem fair , I got the chicken and it was very very very watery , the dessert was also tiny and just felt skimped through it all I took amazing photos but the flavor wasn't there

Yelp
La Trattoria is great! We really appreciated the authentic Czech-Italian decor and the signature Czech comfort food type dishes. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, with ample meat in the dishes. The beer selection is excellent, including several Czech beers and some other European options like Delirium Tremens. The dishes were flavorful and crowd pleasers. Think creamy sauces over casserole type dishes. Dishes we had were the chicken paprikash, fettuccini alfredo, and pork scallopini--all delicious with a similar tender meat style. For such great signature dishes, there were some things I felt could be better. We had the La Trattoria Salad which we found rather simple. Another small area for improvement--the bread came with firm disposable butter packets (almost unspreadable), and I felt a restaurant with such great meals would benefit from softened butter to compliment the bread. Nonethless, overall a great restaurant and glad I finally got to try it. I hear the pizza is excellent and I look forward to trying it.

Yelp
This is good eating. A small, neighborhood restaurant, everything we ate was best of. The exception here, and it was really a matter of preference, I think, was the chicken paprikash. We were turned off by the amount of harissa flavor. Maybe I just don't like chicken paprikash? The Bavarian Goulash and cheese tortellini with aglio e oglio should not be missed.

Yelp
The staff here are always so friendly and quick to assist. This is a small spot, but the food quality is really great. The food comes out piping hot and well presented. There is also an extensive European beer and wine menu. I keep meaning to go back to try the pizza as everyone around us had them and they looked so good. Thanks for always doing right by your customers and being so friendly. Combined with really great food, it makes going here worth it.

Yelp
One of the benefits of having friends unlike yourself, is that they challenge you to explore experiences that take you out of your comfort zone. This was definitely the case when one of me & my wife's favorite couples invited us to La Trattoria Bohemia for lunch. If my 40 year old self would have told my 20 year old self that I would eventually try Czech and Italian cuisine, I would have laughed in my face. Thankfully, I have a wife and friends who have gently encouraged me to try new things. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by an employee named Devin who seated us in the near-empty restaurant. Initially, I was a bit concerned about how empty the restaurant was (maybe an indication of the quality of food and service). However, I was relieved when small groups began trickling in. Also, I was intrigued by how familiar (first name basis familiar) the staff are with their return customers. Like the Cheers theme song goes, "sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came! We placed an order of the calamari to share and I placed an order for the meat ravioli with two bratwurst sausages. To quench my thirst, I ordered a passionfruit brew that was on the special drink menu. Roughly 15 minutes later, our orders were being delivered to the table. I knew that I made the right decision when I smelled and tasted my order, each ravioli was hot and bursting with flavor! The calamari was a favorite with everyone at our table and we were all surprised to learn that the dip provided was ranch (delicious by the way), not tartar sauce. Devin did a great job of checking in on us throughout the experience and almost convinced us to have dessert (we were too full for that)! I definitely would recommend this establishment to my family and friends, my wife and I look forward to making a return visit!

Yelp
My first visit to La Trattoria Bohemia was a great experience. We didn't have a reservation so we got sat in the back patio. The October evening wasn't so cold and they had curtains up and heaters on. My friend and I went to try their vegan lasagna for the Vegan Chef Challenge. My friend pronounced the lasagna magnificent and hoped they would put it in their regular menu. I got the sausage platter which truly lived up to its name. It had 2 sausages (bratwurst & weibwurst) along with a very generous helping of cabbage and potato pancakes. Suffice it to say, we both enjoyed our meals which we paired with a dark Czech beer. However, our second meal didn't go as well. We learned our lesson and made reservations to secure a table inside. My friend called ahead to ask if they had the vegan lasagna. They didn't but had vegan cheese for either pasta or pizza. When we arrived, we promptly seated and beer orders taken. My friend once again inquired about the vegan cheese. Our server want to the kitchen and assured us they had vegan cheese. She ordered the fettucine and I got the chicken picate. My meal arrived in the same sized platter as the sausage platter. It had 2 generous portions of chicken along with roasted potatoes. However, my friend's meal was a bust. When it arrived, there was no cheese, just fettucine noodles with vegetables, no sauce. We asked about this and they said they ran out of vegan cheese. We were incredulous because we asked about it right before we ordered and they told us they had it. They also charged her full price for a dish that had no protein. The inside of the restaurant is very small with tables practically touching each other. It was like playing a same of twister trying to get in and out of our table by the corner. If you are seated near the entrance, which we were, each time the door opened, you'd get blasted by cold wind. Parking in this area is a total pain. I usually give myself at least 15 minutes to try and find it. Sometimes I'll get luck during the weekdays, but the weekends are another story.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't written a review before now for this great spot. I've been eating here for years. I started with their pizzas long ago. They were always my go to dishes for years but I've finally opened myself up to their fabulous Czech meals. I can't recommend these enough to all of you. The meals are plentiful and reasonably priced since you can get two meals out of one dish. I've tried the chicken schnitzel, chicken piccata and the beef goulash. The sides you get with each are equally tasty and are great accompaniments to the mains. Service has always been friendly and prompt and the ambiance is like being in a European eatery. Don't forget to try the Czech beers. Yum!

David B.

Yelp
Service was fine, but the $20 spaghetti was overcooked, bland, and just pretty mediocre really.

Todd M.

Yelp
Loved it! Let's start with my family and I went there during Ocktoberfest. The lederhosen was in full effect...Everywhere! Keep in mind this is a Czech place. It was kinda cool still though. I heard a lot of praise for this place so I was naturally very interested. I saw that they had a picture of stroganoff on their yelp so I naturally yearned for that. Unfortunately that is a seasonal dish. A little bummed out, the server offered a dish that wasn't on the menu, LIQUID BACON. He mentioned that it would be similar to stroganoff so I gave it a shot. Well, it's not anything like stroganoff but it was good. It was a pork fillet covered in melted cheese sprinkled with herbs, I ordered it with pasta and it came with asparagus wrapped in pancetta. It was delicious and very filling. All of the dishes come in a metal baking pan sitting on top of a wood cutting board. Its a fun presentation and all the servings were very large. Definitely more than 1 serving. They serve their dishes with fresh bread as well. We all ordered main entrees which were all very meat focused. They have several pasta dishes, soups, salads and appetizers. We tried out the potato pancakes and that was a really nice treat. I topped it off with one of their czech beers and it was an amazing cultural dining experience. I would definitely recommend it but if you do go, it is a smaller place and it gets quite busy and loud, just a FYI. However with the great service and Czech dishes they offer it is well worth your time to go check it out!

Yelp
Hungarian meets Italian cuisine! I adore the Hungaian dishes of potato pancakes, schnitzel and goulash. The pizza looks amazing. This is a hidden gem, not to locals, and you can't beat the Czech beer and great service. Make this a fun date night!

Michael P.

Yelp
I've been meaning to provide this review for some time. I used to be a regular at La Trattoria Bohemia! Friends and I enjoyed the selection of beers, the variety of menu choices, the atmosphere, and friendly service. My go to order was their pizza. Crust nice and crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside... a wonderfully savory sauce and an impressive amount of toppings. As close to pizza perfection as you could find in Sacramento! I admit that during the Covid pandemic I didn't eat out nearly as often, so I don't know exactly when or why they changed. My first post pandemic pizza was a complete and utter disappointment. The crust was lackluster, the toppings so sparse they were probably added using tweezers, and a cheese blend with a peculiar and unpleasant finish. I was sure it had to be an "off" night. Unfortunately, the three times I've ordered pizza since have all resulted in an identical experience. I have no idea if they changed ownership or management in that time period, or if they are trying to maximize profit by minimizing quality, but I am reminded of the adage "if it's not broken, don't fix it." After 4 orders, I have ended my relationship with the pizza at La Trattoria Bohemia. I would have happily paid more if it was an issue of profitability! So disappointing

Yelp
It's been years since I've dined at this cozy and delicious restaurant! I met up with a friend who was in town for business and this seemed like the perfect place to catch up with him. We shared the Chopsky Salad, which was fresh and crunchy and topped with the perfect amount of feta. He had the ravioli dressed with pesto and I had the Chicken Paprikash. The servings were huge and the food tasty. Our server was attentive in just the right way! I also love that the tables were nicely spaced. I didn't feel like I was packed in like sardines. Next time you want a home cooked meal in a cozy atmosphere, stop by the Sacramento institution!

Yelp
I tried this restaurant for the Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge and I was not disappointed. I had the vegan fettuccine and vegan lasagna. Both were so delicious!! And I loved how saucy the lasagna was! The inside is very cute and the service was also great. (instagram: jax.vegan.eats)

Yelp
PSA: The prices on their website are less than the actual price in person. About a 10-15% increase. Our waitress was super lovely and fun to chat with. There was a delay with service and she gave us an extra of their signature dipping sauce which is amazing!! Our order was messed up, so they had to fix it and that took a little bit. But they gave us half off the entree for the issue, so that was very appreciated. The Penne Alfredo with sausage was fantastic. Very creamy and delicious. Portions are quite large so be prepared for leftovers!

Yelp
You've probably driven past this restaurant a thousand times and never stopped in, but you should. While parking can be difficult, the food is amazing and staff is very welcoming and warm. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, and while outdoor would be nice it was a bit chilly so we opted to sit inside. The restaurant was busy but it wasnt loud so you could still hear the person next to you talking. My pasta was massive that at first I was shocked of the size, but it was amazing. The sauce paired well with the arugula and tomatoes. We also opted for a bruschetta appetizer which was tasted fresh.

Yelp
Found this through Yelp when one person in our party wanted spatzle and it didn't disappoint. 4 plates of food ordered and shared by all starting with a shared appetizer of potato pancakes served with applesauce and sour cream. Potatoes cooked nice and crisp and not oily Chicken Schnitzel with red pepper cream sauce, spaetzle with gravy and a cucumber salad hit the mark of the dish we came in for. 2nd plate included tender beef goulash in a rich gravy, served with green beans and warm red cabbage. All were a hit as were the 1st ever taste of Czech dumplings (explained as steamed) very tender 3rd dish of pork picate with white wine caper sauce was lightly sautéd and accompanied by a tangy caper sauce. Warm cabbage was seasoned welUndercooked Roasted red potatoes were the only miss on this plate. Final dish was daily special of rabbit with mashed potatoes. All agreed the rabbit was dry (though only one member of party had rabbit before so maybe that's rabbit?). Plating was unique and portions sizes large Everyone had leftovers for another meal. Service very pleasant and attentive.

Yelp
What a wonderful gem! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty, but very nice inside. The decor and seating looks very elegant. Special shoutout to marlen and Marcos for making our visit spectacular and accommodating! They were super friendly, attentive, and just overall amazing servers. I ordered some calamari and it was perfect, I love that it actually tastes like calamari and not just bread. We also settled on the chefs special and it was superb. Their pasta is made fresh in house and you can just taste the difference from other Italian restaurants. I added some pepper flakes and parmesan and it made it all the better. I would've loved to try some Czech dishes, but that will have to be for another visit!

Evelia W.

Yelp
The salad came almost at the same time as the ravioli and the spaghetti plate. The ravioli with pesto was watery as well as the tomato sauce in the spaghetti. The bread was ok. We definitely will not return. Overall a bad experience!

Yelp
Absolute best customer service from Devin. Such a fine young man!! It was our anniversary today and he treated us like gold!! Before we even mentioned our anniversary. That's just how wonderful he is! Unbelievable food, and service, SO good!! Thank you for the wonderful day, Devin. We will back soon! You made our anniversary even more special.

Yelp
I don't normally leave reviews, but this place really skimpt on my meal when I placed a take out order. I ordered the beef goulash for $26 and got 5 small chunks of beef, a small side of red cabbage and probably like 10 green beans. Plus my "Czech dumplings" never made it to my plate. Maybe it would have been different to dine in, but I don't think I'll give it another try. My father in laws Fettuccini Alfredo looked ok, but that was super overpriced as well, $26 for pasta is crazy! Paesano's in Midtown is far superior for Italian food and not as expensive.

Yelp
This place was great, and immediately moved toward the top of my favorite places in the city. Central Europe has some amazing food, and outside of German food, doesn't get enough recognition for the wonderful dishes found in those countries. After having traveled to the region, I've been hoping to find a place locally that does the cuisine justice. This place has been on my radar for years, I just haven't had the opportunity and timing to go until now. I wish I had been sooner. The staff was great and friendly, but the food was the shining star for me. The food took me back and made me want to book a ticket to Central Europe immediately. For now, I'll settle with having this gem in our backyard. The paprikash transported me, and the wonderful memories I have of the countries in the region. It's making my mouth water, thinking about the dish. I'll have to go back and have it specifically now. The dumplings took me there too, and I can't wait to go back. There are a variety of dishes on the menu, including a strong Italian presence. My goal is to knock out all the Central European dishes, with me heavily eyeing the goulash for the next go round.

Yelp
We have eaten here many times in the past couple of years. Our favorite spot is a corner nook outside or inside. Try the bruschetta it's made fresh to order. Three favorites dishes Beef Goulash, Chicken Paprikash or sausage platter. The wine list has been thoughtful chosen and paired. In Sacramento give it a try.

Yelp
I must start with the amazing staff. The ladies there this evening could not have been warmer. While we had a reservation, there was still plenty of seating. They reserved a table by the window right next to the neon lights. Pass. The bruschetta appetizer, while a healthy portion was over run with garlic my husband ordered the sausage tray, with a variety of sausages. He thought it was just OK. They also serve four pieces of bread with butter to the table. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, which comes with roasted rosemary, potatoes, or potato salad and tomato cucumber side. I opted for the rosemary potatoes. Word to the wise.. go for the potato salad. The roasted potatoes were way overcooked and no flavor. My chicken schnitzel was a thinly horizontally, sliced chicken breast two piecesdeep-fried,, with two lemon wedges. The lemon juice over the schnitzel was good. But the chicken was so over fried it was very chewy. The tomatoes and cucumber side are extremely salty. The decor is mainly old Bavarian alcohol signs well the restaurant itself is small. It is quaint. For dessert, we opted for the tiramisu which tasted more like a putting ice cream cake. Pass on the tiramisu go for the cannoli. The best part of this place was the service and staff. We will give it a second chance and have something different. Possibly the pizza. It looked awesome.

Yelp
It was my first time here with my husband, on a weekday afternoon on a torrential rainy day in March. Warm servers, greeted and we were seated promptly. Place was almost full. Place offers lots of vegetarian options and substitutes on requests. All the food we ordered were excellent! From the starters to entrees to our dessert. Everything was simply amazing. The service on the other hand was extremely slow. Only 2 servers in the entire restaurant (indoors, outdoor dining was closed due to rain). If you plan on dining here be sure to have your patience and lot of time, as the food is definitely worth the wait.

Yelp
Wow! What a wonderful dining experience. Unique delicious cuisine served in a creative way. Come hungry because the portions are very generous. The service was also fantastic. We felt we were treated like family. If you live in, or are visiting Sacramento, don't miss this place.

Yelp
Relatively small restaurant so definitely recommend calling for reservations ahead of time. Overall great experience. I got the sea bass special which was really good. Another in my party got a pork dish which was a pretty large portion and very tasty as well. They even have a decently priced kids menu with several types of pasta.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night. It was really busy and we had to wait about 5 minutes for them to set up our table for our 5 person reservation. Other tables got turned away every once in awhile because even the counter was full. The service was really friendly. Devon was great throughout the night though service was spotty at times. It took awhile for the second glass of wine to show up and we ordered dessert to share but the servers forgot the extra spoons so we had to wait to enjoy. The restaurant has gluten free options and were very accommodating which was super awesome. We had the Caprese and Bohemian Potato Pancakes both GF and were delicious. I highly recommend the pancakes that came with salmon and capers. The salad was really big. Portions overall at this restaurant are large. My friends had the Sausage Platter and Clam Chowder. They very much enjoyed them. My husband had the Beef Goulash. I had the Chicken Paprikash served with GF pasta and my son had a GF Salami Pizza. Our bellies were happy. The Goulash and Chicken were delicious with unique flavors. We ended the night with a Bindi Bomba which was a chocolate sphere filled with Spumoni Ice Cream. Yummy!

Yelp
Service was European style. Lots of time to enjoy company. And staff was outstanding when needed. No rush to "turn the able". Food, as always, reasonably priced and generous proportions. Very well prepared. Greg Williams, on live guitar, added the right ambiance.....Fine musician. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I think the first time I'd eaten at La Trattoria was around 1998. I remember it making me happy because there wasn't a lot of Czech places in Sacramento area ( RIP Little Prague in Davis and Cafe Marika in Midtown (Hungarian bit similar dishes to LTB), but I digress). This place hasn't changed much since 1998 and I mean this in a good way. The beef goulash tastes virtually the same since I first had it. The chicken paprikash taste the same, too. The bread they give you is also fluffy yet substantial. The price point for their entrees are fair and made with care. I love these Czech/Bavarian/Hungarian staples here and I'm glad this place is still a part of the Sacramento landscape.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place and it sure didn't disappoint! Food was fantastic. Our table had the chicken paprikash and gnocchi. Both were flavorful with excellent texture. Good selection of beers and wines. We had an early dinner so it was empty but cute space and attentive waitress. We all agreed we would be back, great homemade comfort food!

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend came here to celebrate our one year and a half! It was definitely a different experience, as we've never had Czech type food. I had made a reservation, and we pulled up at around 7PM. It's a small shop located in the heart of Sacramento, but it's a beauty inside. I went with the chicken paprikash, which is a chicken type stew composed of chicken and veggies. What a different flavor, but it was delicious. Portion was very generous, so I was full by the end of the meal. Pairing it with a wine, it was a top tier food experience we won't forget. The waitress was super nice and gave us the recommendations we needed, including that chocolate cake that just melted away in our mouths with every bite. I can't believe this nice, local business isn't talked about more in Sac, but I'll make sure to recommend it!
