Second time coming here and thought I’d leave a review because it’s been consistently good with great service. I highly recommend the mole poblano. The tortillas are also amazing and have a slight thickness I find hard to get at most places unless homemade! Definitely a neighborhood gem worth checking out.

The smell drew me in and the food and great vibes made me not want to leave. Some of the best birria I’ve had in the city. Lovely atmosphere, with lots of history for those curious to ask. Strongly recommend!!

Amazing tacos and incredible service. They make their tortillas fresh, portions are great, and the meat is so juicy. Highly recommend their pastor, carnitas, and carne asada.

I ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with avocado… this is what I got. The avocado came on the side, and there’s hardly any egg in the burrito. The sausage is not quite sausage (pork, chicken, turkey), it’s hot dog sausage. Burrito ingredients were not that hot, more like warm. Not sure why they add lettuce which throws off the warm ingredients. Just a rather interesting take on the breakfast burrito. Overall no real flavor of anything. Hands down one of the least desirable breakfast burrito. The total was $20 for this meal plus tip.

I was very excited to try the food at La Travesia based on their unique menu and positive reviews, however the burrito I got served was simply very disappointing. Commenting on the positives first, the staff was very nice, the inside of the restaurant was clean, and the menu had items not normally offered within SF. I can see that most people that have liked the food have gotten more of the traditional items and dined in, but I can’t comment on that experience, only on what I was given for takeout. I have to say the “carne asada” super burrito left a lot to be desired to put it nicely. To pay nearly $17 to get served pretty much rice, shredded lettuce (not sure why it even has lettuce), wrapped around a tortilla is simply unfair. I have never had a burrito this light on ingredients, there was maybe 5 cubes of steak throughout the entire thing. Even the beans, crema and cheese are scarce, if there at all? There was simply nothing good I can say about this item. I’m honestly shocked that I got served this from a new restaurant. My rule for restaurants is that the owner and chef should always only serve food that they themselves would be happy to eat and pay for, and I don’t think this was applied to my pretty much rice and lettuce burrito. You can take a look yourself and see that I am not exaggerating with my comments. Again, many have liked the other food items and enjoyed dining in, but I can only comment on what I was given. Unfortunately with this experience as my first meal here, I can’t come back here to try anything else or recommend their burritos.

Fantastic Experience – The Best Tacos Ever! The service at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the dining experience truly enjoyable. As for the food, these were hands down the best tacos I’ve ever eaten—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Everything was simply perfect, from the ambiance to the presentation. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
Cool new Latino Mexican-Guatemalan restaurant! La Travesia just opened a few days ago. Had a carne asada fajita burrito and enchilada con mole plate. The food is great! Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Not just another burrito place with zero ambiance. More upscale but prices are very reasonable. There are actually tablecloths! Looks like it could be a good place to take a date.
