This is the original restaurant location I used to frequent when I was an SJSU grad student... and that's the main clientele here, which is to be expected, since it's right at the edge of campus. Unfortunately, the mobs of students means longer wait times here as well. The wait for my order was about 20 minutes on a Sunday just before midnight.
You'll find two levels of seating inside, but only if the top level is open, which it wasn't during my recent visit, making it a bIt uncomfortable inside with so many guests crammed into a small space, most standing around waiting for orders. Seating is limited, but at least there are countertop standing tables to eat at. The interior's not as modern-looking as other La Vic locations, and it's always been a bit stuffy inside this restaurant, but it's manageable.
The steak quesadilla was fine, the taste consistent with what I usually get at La Vic (needs that orange sauce for maximum flavor and spice). But a couple of the steak pieces inside were inedible, plus I ordered for dine-in purposefully, because I wanted an actual quesadilla, and they ended up serving it to go, wrapped and folded like a burrito, which I specifially did not want them to do... why else would I dine in with a bunch of college kids?!?
Not a deal breaker though, it still satisfied my late night cravings this past Sunday, and I love that they're open till the wee hours. In fact, you'll probably only find me here if the other nearby La Vic locations are closed. My recent experience reminded me of why this is my least preferable option. On top of that, parking is almost nonexistent on most days.
