The 31 Essential Restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

"Là Việt Coffee is one of the key players in the modern coffee scene. Moving away from the robusta beans traditionally found around town, husband-and-wife founders Trần Nhật Quang and Nguyen Thi Nhu Ngoc opted to focus on arabica beans grown, harvested, and roasted at their farm in Da Lat. Their experimentation has resulted in some truly unique coffee drinks, such as the specialty margarita coffee mocktail made with lime, sugar syrup, and cold brew, complete with salt rim. The couple is always pushing the boundaries of Vietnamese coffee while respecting the established coffee culture; they even took 14 months to develop a new brewing tool that combines a drip attachment good for their arabica beans with the form of a familiar phin filter." - Linh Phan

If you’re a fan of strong, smooth coffee, this Vietnamese coffee shop is a hidden gem! Their cà phê sữa đá (iced coffee with condensed milk) is an absolute must-try — perfectly bold and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. I couldn’t resist taking the experience home, so I bought one of their bottled versions to go.

Pleasantly surprised ! I really like the warm banana bread , not too sweet to my liking. First time trying kumquat coffee, equally good. I would come here again.

This café is undeniably stylish, offering a sophisticated atmosphere that provides a refreshing escape from the heat outside. They serve coffees using arabica coffee beans produced in Vietnam, known for their deep aroma. Although I faced some difficulty in placing my order due to the language barrier (as they didn't speak English), the staff made a commendable effort to understand me and were very helpful. The iced coffee with condensed milk was absolutely delightful and exactly what I needed. The combination of rich coffee flavor and creamy sweetness was perfect.

These guys know their stuff for sure. This isn't just any regular coffeshop, they're part of a company that actually produces and roasts their own coffee. ☕ You can tell they're very passionate about it, not just fixing drinks. You can ask them specific questions. They will meticulously make each coffee according to each customer. The staff is really nice and professional. The place is well decorated although totally hidden from the public eye. The parking lot is tiny but even if it's full, don't worry they'll find a solution so you can enjoy yourself. Plus they obviously sell their different types of coffee beans and at a reasonable price. Westerners will most likely identify with the A/romatic or D/ark type of beans .

a nice little coffee shop - not quite hidden away but you kinda need to know it's here to know it 😅 tucked away in an alleyway, they serve specialty coffee as well as some scrumptious pastries to pair coffee was excellent - i got the cold brew special and was perfect great atmosphere for studying or just relaxing they got a few floors too so head on up if u can't find yourself a spot they sell roasted beans here too!

This cafe got to add my list for favourite place in Vietnam. Due to the atmosphere, cosiness, calm lights, tone, natural materials, people’s vibes, options of beverages, unique compositions of the interior, quietness. I could concentrate on my work. I look for my working space except my home. Peace is enough affordable for everyone. I would love to be back soon, maybe I will come once a week for s while. Inspiring place.

Cold Brew Margherita - no good. Lemon and salt don’t go well, coffee isn’t super fragrant either.

Tried the cà phê phở and it was pretty good. The basil actually goes well with coffee but the chili 🌶️ was spicy. Very nice cafe with light air conditioning and very busy on a monday afternoon. Overall recommend.
