Great restaurant in Angus. Excellent and fast service. The appetizers are really worth it. Good portions and amazing taste. The burrata and the fried calamari were to die for. The salmon tartar is a must try. Loved the decor and ambiance. It'a good for spot for 2 or for big groups.

This restaurant offers an excellent dining experience. The service is outstanding—staff members are friendly, attentive, and quick to assist. The food is delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. The decor is creating a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. As for the location, it is convenient and easily accessible, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. Highly recommended!

The environment is pretty nice and got served fast. Ordered the fish and chips however I was disappointed in how small the fish was. The size difference between the three little fish was easily noticeable as seen in the picture. The tartar didn't have alot of taste but it was okay.

Went here about ten years ago. Didn't impress. Went back recently because someone else chose it. Wasn't expecting much but the food was actually good and satisfying. Prices were fair except for the calamari. $20 for about 6-8 pieces. It was good but very small portion. The service was good also. There's nothing to rave about but it's nice to know there's a good, decent and local place to go to.

Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere surrounded by brick walls and cool lights in an old refurbished rail road cars and locomotives manufacturer dating from 1904. Drinks on point and delicious food! And the service never disappoints, Sarah-Michelle was super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend!

I simply had the worst experience of my life at this restaurant and this is also the first time for me writing a review (bad or good ) on a restaurant. When I received my plate, my heart just sank inside me : I was so disappointed, outraged, angry that such a plate could be placed in front of a customer. I remained silent because we were celebrating a birthday but inside me, I was so angry. Luckily, my neighbor on my left, reacted right away to the plate with a sound of disgust when she saw my plate and vocalized what I did not dare to say. I called the waitress and she was like : is the meat too cooked? And I said, it is not about that. I said that meat looks it was cooked 2 or 3 days ago and I sent the meat back to the kitchen. This meat looked like left overs you will throw at dogs. I did not eat a piece of it. I cut the meat to look inside and when you looked at the fibers of the meat, you could tell, this was not right. For me, the meat was just not cooked on the same day and that would be the most acceptable explanation. Because if that meat was cooked on the same day, then that is even worst. My explanation about this restaurant that they surely are able to put some good food out there : other plates (one burger and salmon tartars) at my table look good but they are able to screw things bad sometimes with no consistency and poor execution such as cooking some meat properly and not checking plates sent to customers. Remember : my neighbor reacted right away as well when she saw the plate so it was not just me! How can a restaurant send a plate like that? They really need to review their process!! Another piece of meat was brought to me and it was acceptable but I ate my meal without meat, since I had to wait. I still tipped the waitress because it was not her fault and paid for my order. Only one positive note : the sweet potatoes puree was good. Salad and dressing : just average. Overall for me, this was just a bad experience, especially for the most expensive order at the table. To the owner of the restaurant : I am not interested with a refund of my order as this will not do it : this level of poor execution is just not acceptable. The lesson you need to learn : check the plates you are sending out.

Great ambience and professional service but food itself was a hit and miss on some items. I had calamari for an entree and it was perfectly cooked. Also, the fish and chips I ordered for the main dish was delicious. But they should revisit the fries too tiny and cold also the coslaw could use some seasoning and dressing instead of just serving raw shredded red cabbage.

Google
Great restaurant!! Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and has a parking lot! They also have a great kids menu. I had the burger on the brunch menu and it was delicious!! Love that it comes with salad and fries, so you don't have to choose between both...lol The kids had the chicken fingers Abba I was a very generous portion! Will definitely go back!!

Yelp
I don't know why this place has such low reviews - it was amazing! The food was great, service was very kind, and the terrace is pretty. We had a little bit of an issue with flying ants(?) but that's summer for you lol The 1$ oyster special was fantastic, and everything is fairly priced They even have their OWN FREE parking lot!!!!!!!!! That is rare in Montreal Would definitely come back if we are ever in Montreal again

Yelp
Had a wonderful last minute meal at this charming bistro that once housed a Fire Station decades ago. Etienne was wonderful and explained the menu in detail.

Yelp
Really good food and ambiance and the service was really nice just quite slow. We asked for the check with the dessert and did not get it until much after we finished the dessert. And we ordered refills of drinks throughout the night but they did not get to us fast at all. To be fair there only seemed to be three waiters present who were hosting, serving, and bussing the entire restaurant. But everything tasted delicious!!!

Yelp
Pretty good food but not worth the prices. I'm happy there are no bones in the chicken waffles. The crème caramel wasn't like a typical light sweet crème caramel. Much more creamy and warm (not necessarily better though). The location is adorable, very hipster modern industrial.

Yelp
I have no idea how this place received such low reviews. The service was AMAZING! I can't comment on that enough, even with covid they really were exceptional. The food was delicious. We had the "Rockefeller" oyster, which are more of a curry oyster (a little on the small side but the flavors are on point). I had the paella, wasn't quite traditional but the spice profile was perfect. My boyfriend had the beef tartare, again delicious, a good aioli + beautiful presentation. Drink wise we had beers (usual good drafts) and I had an espresso martini. The martini tasted like a proper coffee drink (strong espresso drink perfect for dessert) and looked on point. All that to say, I came with low expectations because of the low reviews (that I saw on the way there) and came out utterly perplexed that it could be rated so low!

Yelp
I had the salmon tartare which was very disappointing, it lacked flavor and it tasted fishy. The beef tartare was even worse it was so dry and also no flavor. The service was very slow.

Yelp
Visited this spot located in a reconverted firehouse in the Angus shops for lunch with a group of friends on a weekday and the place was packed! They offer an express lunch menu and considering they are one of the few restaurants available to the growing commercial area, I would recommend a reservation. The brasserie itself is very modern with nice lighting, minimal decor, and beautiful brick walls. The food menu is mostly french bistro with a few items, like poke bowl, which is out of character. Their three course lunch special is only at 22$! I went with the angus burger served with fries and salad; the burger was way greasy, so much so, that it soaked through the bun and made it very difficult to eat. The fries were perfect though and I really liked the vinaigrette on the salad mixed green salad although they could have gone lighter with the dressing. My friend ordered the poke bowl which he enjoyed; he asked if they can hold the carrots, to which they said no, so he actually sat there removing one piece of shredded carrot at a time..lol! Overall, the service was okay consider they were swamped and the food is good but not great but I would give this place another shot considering options are limited in the neighbourhood.

Yelp
I'm giving this restaurant 1 Star for more than a couple of reasons. 1. They don't have an English menu 2. The food was over priced and didn't taste good quality 3. The server was very slow and rude (restaurant not busy) 4. There is no vegetarian options I should of trusted my instinct and left while I was waiting several minutes for our server to help us. She was a women with short length blonde hair and she was very unpleasant. When my friends asked if there was an English menu she said "no we don't but our menu isn't complicated, how hard is it to read steak, ok see how hard is it to read fish and chips ok and how hard is it to read salad. Like chill out lady. I would like to know the ingredients. I will never go back and I don't suggest anyone to spend money on their over priced low quality and foul tasting food. Nothing that I or my friends ordered we liked. And we are big time foodies. I think they need a new menu and certainly a friendlier staff. 1 Star for the nice interior design.

Yelp
I only have positive comments to give Labarake. I was a bit worried after reading the other reviews but I liked it very much. I had the Fish & chips which included A small black beer. The Fish & chips portion was very big. Good quality/ price We had the chance to sit on the terrasse. Very nice and excellent service. My friends had the Tuna club and the Beef Tartare and both were very satisfied.

Yelp
I loved the decor and the ambiance. The service was excellent. I loved the food we started off with a roquette salad with caramelized pecans. Then, for the main course I had a braised beef cheek and it was so delicious the accompaniment went wonderful,y with beef. The only hic is the opening hours that are tricky, it's open in the day and then closes until the night service. It took me a long time to try that place cause of the hours that never fitted with when I wanted to go. All and all delicious food, excellent decor and great service.

Yelp
We had our Christmas party here, it's in a nice district with ample parking. The place is very trendy and good for loud chatter type of vibe. We were limited to the group menu, which was a letdown. 3 of the 5 dishes were seafood, as well as a risotto and beef cheek. I had the fish and chips, which is supposed to come with a small beer, which I did not get. The fish was ok, but the batter was not crisp. I had to ask for ketchup and got the equivalent of half a packet. The tartar sauce was a joke, just mayonnaise with a drop of vinegar. The clafoutis for dessert was the highlight of the night. The high chairs we were seated in were impossible to move once seated, we had to ask to get pushed in. I'm sure the experience is better once you try the full menu as well as sitting on the regular tables.

Yelp
*A culinary disaster!!* cute place, nice staff, non pretentious crowd; however the food is horrible. If you HAVE to go dine there, please do not stray away from the basic "junk" food items. Stick with burgers, fries, and ceasar salad. Anything remotely interesting is not worth trying. I have been there 3 times, trust me, I gave them their chance!! That was the last! Guys, we are dinning in a strip mall, the problem is that they are charging up scale prices..I can name at least 15 great restaurants in Rosemont that are worth my money. The owner was very arrogant with a god complex. Sitting two seats away from me and did not even come see me when my server noticed I did not eat 1/4 of my plate?? Then charged me full price!! Great management buddy!!

Yelp
This place has everything going for it. Great, renovated building, nice terrace and really great service. But people, we're here for the food. With so many many great places to chose from in Montreal- and because this place is not cheap, look around and read the reviews before you hand over your hard-earned money...

Yelp
Here is the thing.... I want so badly for this place to succeed and be great, it just misses the mark on every level. My wife and I arrived for the one dollar oyster night. We were sat at the bar and literally waited 20 minutes before any of the wait staff acknowledged our existence. As I stared at my watch wondering if this was real life or I was going insane I leaned over and said to my wife, "if we are not acknowledged in the next 5 min we are leaving". Not a good start. The waiter/bartender was a really nice guy from France and I hold no judgement against him. He might have been overworked. We ordered 36 oysters, all which were delicious and I hold no complaints. After my wife ordered the Salmon Tartar and I the fish and chips. When my food arrived it looked as lovely as the decor, however , looks can be decieving. My outrageously priced 19$ fish and chips tasted like air. I come from a British family and maybe my expectations are high but the fish was greasy and bland. To make matters worse, the tar tar sauce tasted like watered down low fat mayonnaise. My wife also said her salmon tar tar was bland and would never order it again. If the owners are interested I would happily give them a recipe for good fish and tartar sause. The fries were good tho. Why I am sad that this restaurant is a disappointment is because I live so close and love oysters. This is my second time eating here. I went with a group of friends a few years ago and we were not very impressed back then either. Please please please take your reviews seriously, as a neighbour I want to support your business but your prices do not reflect your quality and until it does I will stick to beer and oysters. Sorry....

Yelp
Great atmosphere, super friendly staff, good food! My bf and I share the three seafood tartar, he had the burger and I had the mussels. I would definitely come back!

Forbidden Meal ..

Yelp
With such a beautiful restaurant and trustful potential on their side, Labarake could definitely have come up with something more consistent but especially, more innovative and original than what was served during the evening of their first anniversary. Fingers crossed for next year's anniversary! For now, let's bring a toast to their first-year anniversary and with them another year of success!

Yelp
The place looks great (decor, atmosphere, etc). We were a group of 20 people and the service was good. We were able to bring in our own cake which is nice. However, the food, for the price, just wasn't great. One person had the salmon and didn't like it at all. I had the chicken, which was okay (kind of burnt, and tiny, especially for $23). The salad was good and the fries were great. My husband had the burger with the egg on top. It was pretty good. The coleslaw and fries that came with the burger were good. The waiters do not bring you bread unless you ask for it. We got slices of white bread and of olive bread. It was good.
