"La Barca, nestled between Margate and Ocean City in the borough of Longport, is a crudo, oyster, and craft cocktail bar with an expansive menu of seafood and “from the land” offerings. Dining guests can sit at tables located by the large windows to take in the beautiful bayside views or find a prime spot at the bar as they get their fill of sensational seafood offerings on the menu which includes an impressive roster of oyster varieties, a tempting Chilean sea bass lobster dish, and a seared wild salmon entree. For those seeking non-seafood fare, they offer many enticing Italian entrees, such as the homemade short rib gnocchi and Nonna’s Eggplant Rollatini." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Great waterfront views, great food, great service! Had the fried calamari appetizer, gnocchi pomodoro, linguini with clam sauce, and tiramisu for dessert - all were delicious. Our server Aldo was phenomenal, extremely attentive and kind. The cocktails here are a must!

Very disappointed! Made a reservation well in advance to celebrate a milestone birthday. Arrived to the restaurant and the place was empty. It was kinda odd! We were told that the delivery trucks had not arrived so we could not have bread. When trying to order an appetizer from the Crudo menu, we were again told the item was not available as the ‘trucks’ had not arrived. If we knew in advance that the delivery trucks didn’t arrive until later we could have booked a reservation for a later time. The cocktails were very pricey and not great. The food for the most part was good. One of our family members ordered a steak medium rare and it came out medium well. The waitress was nice and the view was nice. Unfortunately this is a one and done for our family. This is supposed to be a nicer restaurant- The price and experience are not worth it!

Our party of 7 enjoyed our dinner at La Barca. Bread with oil was a nice start (they brought more out with the meal), shared a couple of appetizers, and had tasty entrees and wine. Waiter was friendly. The view of the marina was nice. Parking was not adjacent to the restaurant (it's in the gravel lot when you first enter the parking area -- not under the solar panels which are closer to the restaurant).

This place is consistently good. We had a party of 25 people and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were worried that it would be super slow because of the size of our group, but it was great. Salads and apps: We ordered a bunch of salads and apps for the table. The Caesar Salad were great, the Arugula Pear salads were delicious. Love the light dressing on it. Poke Nachos were loaded with flavor and easy to share. The bread and pesto oil was super. Oysters were tasty and had a nice presentation on a large plate of ice. I wish I took pictures. Entrees: The linguini and clams was very tasty, i only wish it had a little sauce on it to dip bread into. (one person in our party is celiac and really enjoyed the GF penne and clams. So nice to have a few GF choices) The Grilled Bronzino with Cannellini beans was a beautiful presentation. Dessert and drinks: A few people had dessert. I didn't try them, but i was told they were excellent and the plates were "licked clean" lol I love the GIGANTIC wine glasses for the reds. The French martini was tasty, but i think they forgot the vodka. Their Old Fashioned was terrible. That was literally the only thing that was sent back. Service: Our server, Anthony, was calm and cool and was able to handle us all. The only reason for the 4 star of atmosphere is that it is a very loud place and hard to have a conversation even with the person next to you. The view of the harbor 5 stars.

Outstanding Experience. Only open since June, 2022. We had just heard about the restaurant; we called, and they were happy to seat us when we arrived in 5 minutes. Our table was set and ready. 6 pm was a great time. Every seat is excellent. Many windows and a great view of the Marina. At least 50% of our conversation was about the wonderful taste of our food and beverages. We also were very impressed with our server, Anthony, and those who assisted him with bringing out our meals. Genuine polite personality...service with care, joy, and kindness. When we left, total strangers bid us a friendly farewell. A nice stroll overlooking the docked boats, water, and beautiful sky topped off the perfect evening!

Ate here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary a few weeks ago. The food and service were great. Unfortunately, this will be a one-and-done for us despite the beautiful views. While driving back to OC I received an additional alert that my card was charged a second time by the restaurant after the initial charge that occurred while we were still there. I immediately checked the charge amount upon returning home and it was not for the tip, but for the amount before tip a second time! I called the restaurant to ask and was told, "Oh that's been happening a lot recently. Just wait a few days and it should come off your pending transactions." Not a very comforting response in the least bit as this was not a cheap meal. I waited until Wednesday (we ate there on a Saturday) and my account was still showing double the charge. I had to call my bank to have them put the money back into our account for the second charge.

To start, the service was abysmal. We waited an hour for our cold appetizers, and when we asked the manager for assistance, he was less than sympathetic. Our server did not check in on us throughout the wait and when it finally arrived, the quality was appalling. Throughout the meal, our server did not ask to refresh our beverages until the very end of the meal. All of the food was over cooked and The octopus, in particular, was so tough that I couldn't cut it with the butter knife I was given. The rigatoni vodka was watery, the mac n cheese too rich, too much mayo in the salmon tartare and no way there was a head chef turning out the food. The view was nice but the décor felt outdated and the atmosphere lacked character and warmth, which was needed since it was also freezing. To top it off, the meal was overpriced for the quality of food and service we received. We left feeling like we had wasted both our time and money.

Go for the food! The food is divine- every time. Everything else is awful. We were seated pretty quickly. Over 30 minutes for cocktails and another 40 minutes apps.No bottles of Pinot Grigio available for sale. A lot of apologies. Marley was a wonderful waitress. Management walks around looking🤷‍♀️- not doing much else. Probably our 7th visit. We feel like it has gotten more convoluted every time.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with terrific views of the boats in the water. The waitstaff was very attentive. The seafood was delicious ....Loved the eggplant rolatini. Gnocchi was light and feathery. The complimentary bread and pesto was a nice touch. Ample portions. The only negative is that for first timers like me, once you park in their parking lot, the restaurant is hard to find as they have no signs in the parking lot. Just kept walking to the water and found it.

Yelp
Well..... I got oysters for my app. It was good. I prefer a red wine minuet. Dinner was scallop and shrimp with Crab Risotto. Scallops were excellent, Shrimp was over cooked and risotto had little to no crab in it. Overall the risotto had great flavor.

Yelp
Came here because we love the food from Bistro DiMarino. Upon arrival, we were not sure we were at the right place as there was no signage. After we were seated, the waiter gave us a long list of items they did not have. The start of the meal was not going well and the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. It got much better from there. There were 6 of us. We got the crab bruschetta and mussels in Fra Diavlo as apps. The mussels were meaty and the sauce was delicious. A few of us got the Rigatoni Vodka, which came with 3 large perfectly cooked shrimp and loads of crabmeat. I love the bistro DiMarino vodka sauce, but the addition of the crab and shrimp took it to another level. The linguini with clams was also a huge hit. Not sure I'm spelling his name right, but the waiter, Vassile was attentive and helpful. Hoping people give this a chance as we had an excellent meal. Based on previous review, I'm hoping they got a fresh start this season. Oh, and the views of the marina were great too

Yelp
My 4th time, and now, my last, not impressed. Muscles were old, and many were bad. Chicken Parm was burnt. Got an ounce of 15 year McCallen, and was charged $60.00. A bottle costs $150.00.

Brian B.

Yelp
I ate there a few times last year though the food was very good. Tonight's the first time I've eaten this year at the restaurant and I thought the food is gone significantly downhill. The food is over priced and under delivered. I am sorry thy lost the quality I found last year

Yelp
I brought ten family members to La Barca and it was possibly the worst dining experience of my life. Right from the start, no sparkling water, bread came out if a package. Appetizers were forgotten, everyone's meal was missing key descriptions, no pear on poached pear salads, seafood left out of entrees, even bones in the scallops!!It took 1 1/2 hrs for entrees, no refills on our water, and other beverages. Every entree was over cooked and inedible . The hostess was very rude, there was no soap in bathrooms, I asked for soap, hostess ignored this request. I am a regular in your Collingswood and Marlton restaurants, so this was not only a disappointment but was just a horrible experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The ambiance was no existent, good view but terrible experience.

Pamela G.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our chicken parm. Two sizes, which is a nice option, and absolutely delicious!! Spinach was great and vodka pasta was awesome. Ceases salad was great and view was really nice! We will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
My husband and I had a Bistro di Marino gift card and were very excited to use it at La Barca, however their system was down and could not accept it (my parents actually had the same experience). Kind of disappointed.... We sat at the bar and loved our bar tender Uriel. He made me a very refreshing cucumber martini and my husband loved his gin cocktail called "the hive mind." We ordered the tuna crudo and while it was delicious, the portion was small. We also got the Gorgonzola gnocchi (our favorite dish at bistro in collingswood) and while the flavors were there, it was served barely lukewarm. This place has so much potential...hoping it improves before the end of the season.

Doug R.

Yelp
I have been here several times and the service was always great. There gnocchi are excellent and they have a half order for only $11. The views are great from the dining room. I would recommend.

Yelp
1. Took us 40 mins to get a drink 2. Someone not even working told us "honesty policy" overcharged us. We asked to Tito's, didn't have it. We chose Kettle One. They charged us for Belvedere. 3. We asked to be charged for what we got.."honesty policy" 4. Had an attitude..won't be back!! 5. Waiting for Uber in the parking lot and everyone is complaining as well! Not the noise I need to hear

Paul T.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent. Very quick and attentive service and the crudo offerings were very tasty. I saw some earlier bad reviews and have to assume they fixed whatever was wrong. A good experience overall.

Jerry C.

Yelp
We had dinner there for a party of six. To our shock they charged us three dollars for the dirty rocks. I've contacted the restaurant several times without a reply. They obviously don't care if we come back. It's a shame because actually the food wasn't bad

Linda W.

Yelp
Gee, I thought it was just a bad day for this place. After reading these reviews, seems like bad biz as usual. I won't leave a lot of details in my review. Just want to say the female bartender was rude and inattentive. She actually argued with me when I ordered my drink. Something silly about the glass. When they first opened it was extraordinary. Owners were there, food was great, waitstaff was excellent. The owners need to come back down to their shore restaurant and fix it.

Michael G.

Yelp
I'm not sure why there are less than stellar reviews here. We have eaten in the dining room three times with different numbers in our party (3-8) and have had wonderful experiences each time. The food was delicious and the servers were attentive, knowledgeable, although busy. We have also sat at the bar two other times to watch the game and eat. Again, we were met with great service and impressive food. All this plus a great new happy hour that includes many choices from the menu. The crowd does seem a little like Biff and Buffy from the club, so maybe that is why the reviews sound the way they do?

J F.

Yelp
Swore I'd never return after my first try (see that review) but thought we should give it a second chance. This time, we didn't even bother staying. As we walked in, there was a table in the foyer with broken glass all over it. The first bad sign. To the left was an almost-empty barroom with one lonely bartender and three young girls who looked like heroin addicts sitting at the bar, one of which may have even worked there. The dining room was brightly lit and every table was empty. This was around 6 or 6:30 on a Sunday, mind you. Not after hours or even before they were open. As we entered the bar area, there was an odd scent drifting through the room, too. Everything just screamed, "get out now, while you still can." So we did. Won't return for real this time.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here last night. Terrible experience. I could not eat the scallops or the shrimp--rubbery consistency. We were not asked how are meals were. The server was confused when we asked for bottled, still water so we let it go and drank tap. The temperature of the red wine was about 150 degrees--so warm, it was like soup. Not sure where they are storing it, but certainly not at proper temperature. They should look into a wine fridge! Had to ask for ice cubes to cool it down, but that only ruined the taste of the best cabernet at $18 a glass. Table beside us had same issue. Also occurred during a previous visit. The server made no apologies or offered any solutions. Our table was positioned in a very bad spot, too close to bar. Servers were bumping into my chair. The air conditioning must have been broken because it was sweltering in there. Window was open but it was a 90 degree day! The music was an annoying, heart-pumping base. It was lowered after we requested, but the noise level in the room was so loud, it left people screaming at one another to be heard. After $170, for 1 app, 2 meals, 2 glasses of wine and a non-pleasurable experience it's needless to say, we won't be back. The table next to us said the same thing.

Yelp
The menu promises a lot and gives nothing. Prices are ridiculous for the quality. Did not enjoy my meal and don't recommend it to anyone. I ordered a pasta dish, what came out to me was 5 noodles floating in a cheese soup. Felt sick after.

Luke 1.

Yelp
Food is overpriced and not worth it. I got the lobster mac and cheese that was supposed to include lobster meat, shrimp, bacon, etc. and there's only the tiniest bit of lobster meat and nothing else. The service isn't good either and the food and prices are just ridiculous. I don't recommend anyone going there.

Vicki W.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is good. View is nice. Place is very lively and loud. Can be too loud to hear your dinner partners.

Barry C.

Yelp
First and last time there.Cannot express how poorly this place is managed.Waited 20 minutes at the table before server introduced himself. No water, waited another 15-20 minutes for drinks,no bread.Appatizers were ok,pork chop came to table RAW.Other meals were soaked in grease.Managed tried to comp chop,Never served chop!!!.Better off going to McDonalds.Oh on top of it all found fruit fly in drink.

Paula G.

Yelp
Paula Bensalem, Very disappointed. Went with three friends on Saturday night and the service was poor. We each ordered six oysters (had only two varieties out of about eight choices on the menu). They were brought out on one large platter. We each had different choices that were not even defined on the plate. We sent them back to be separated and saw the waitress plating them on a back table. You could tell she was very new and I am certain we each got whatever oysters hit the plate, regardless of our individual choices. Their prices are outrageous, no one bragged about their entrees and on Saturday evening at 6:30 they had a DJ playing songs. The music was so loud we could not have a conversation. We had to leave the restaurant to sit outside and have a conversation after dinner! This restaurant cannot survive unless they make serious management changes. I would not recommend this restaurant at all!!

Tim S.

Yelp
When La Barca first opened I was excited that Bistro di Marino was going to be represented in my backyard. Well it's nothing like the great Collingswood location. This place is the most unorganized, chaotic, poorly managed restaurant in the area. Just went tonight giving them one last chance. Last year they brought me the wrong entree 3 times in a row. You can't make this up. Tonight we went with two friends and my wife. My wife and I got there before our friends and grabbed 4 seats. The seats had eaten food on the bar in front of us. We waited 15 minutes to have it taken away. Had to stack the dirty dishes ourselves and plead w someone to take them. When he did I had to tell him the whole counter needed to be wiped down. We waited another 15 minutes to order a drink. No silver ware. They ran out of dinner napkins so gave us cocktail napkins. They gave my friend a dirty wine glass. Bartender brought over the wrong bottle of wine. Came back with the right one but no wine glasses. The bottle sat on the bar for 5 mins. Another guy came over w 3 wine glasses and said we are looking for a 4th. Just to order food was a nightmare. The couple next to us never got their dinner. They waited 20 mins for a drink. The bartender made the wife's drink and forgot to make the husbands drink. He had to ask two times for it. Finally he gave up and ordered a beer. They asked for bread 4 times and never got any. I mean this place is just awful. It's a shame because I love their restaurant in Collingswood. I can't go into every aspect of this horrific evening but I'm done. Good luck. Won't be back until I hear the place is finally run efficiently. You'll get better service in a diner.

Kaleigh S.

Yelp
Been here plenty of times and I'm absolutely disgusted with how my friends and I were treated the other night. We called for a reservation was put on hold with the front and they never actually put the phone on hold and was talking with their friends on the other line about how much they have been working this week. We make a reservation on resy and come in and sit down. We ordered 3 glasses of champagne and our server asked us for our ids and we gave them, continued to ask us our "real ages" because he didn't believe us. We are all of age. Our server then said they would take our order in 5 minutes and we didn't see them for at least 25 minutes later. Our water glasses were dry from the first pour. Never even considered filling them up throughout the dinner. Our dirty plates from our bread and appetizer was left on the table until the end of the night even when our dinner came out. The wrong & more expensive bottle was put onto our bill (we got it changed). As we left I was watching the host who took us to our table dancing on the dance floor. Never coming back so disappointing what a waste of a meal
