I’ve been fresh soursop for a while and I’ve heard this store always have them so I decided to stop by. There was a line on the side of the store, not sure what for but it must’ve been something good because it’s cold as hell and people were waiting patiently. Anyways, once inside, I realized the store is much smaller than I expected. There’s ALOT inside but the space is TIGHT. I quickly located the soursops in a box on the floor and was disappointed to see that they were either smushed up, buss open or just really small. Like Guyanese people say “it was bare left left”. Like everyone took the big juicy ones and that’s all they had left. I came here for that specifically so that’s a bummer. I ended up purchasing the homemade soursop juice and the mango and soursop juice and let me tell me, I’m not even made I didn’t get the soursop because the juice SLAPS ! I paid $22 for the two bottles and although it’s a bit pricey, it’s all natural and tastes amazing so I feel it’s worth it. If you looking for “back home tings” definitely check this place out. I’ll be back :)

I was looking for soursop and found this GEM! I ended up picking up a few extra items like Seamoss Gel, sorrel juice and an Avocado. I will definitely be coming back here for some other nutritional fruits and more. If you want to eat the right way you must come here. This place will get your body and mind right. Thank you guys!

The fruit selection is elite! Fresh coconut water with the meat outside. Different soursop drinks and more in the fridge. Salute to Big Mac. This market is a local gem 💎

I was beyond please at Labay Market, took me back to home, fruits, soursop leave, seasoning, the mangoes were so good and the coconut water was so delicious, plus you get the coconut jelly. It was a pleasure visiting

I think I just encountered a fake. It’s been 2 months I cut up a papaya that had no seeds when I cut it open. I don’t eat any fruit without seeds an I know for sure papaya has a lot of seeds but this one have Zero. Cut it up small, place it in a container in the fridge and it still look new after 2 months.. love this store giving 4 stars for the prices of some things.

Definitely some of the best soursop juice I’ve ever had! I didn’t like seeing so much produce placed on the ground and would love to see them accept EBT.

They have everything you need. From all around the world, back to Brooklyn. Essentials are here and rare. I love this store. Go at least once a mo th.

Location: Brooklyn Service: soso Ambiance: was okay. Food: Well, the reason why I went here was to get the young coconut and the coconut sugar. But I found the sweet tamarind (my fave) and young buko was so so fresh. They will cut it in front or you, pour the juice in a container as well as the white meat. Man I was craving for it since I came here in the US. Been looking for the coconut sugar and I found here for a cheaper price (good amount, worth your penny) they have all sorts of tropical fruits. From sugar apple to guava. You name it probably it's there. Worth the journey.

I shopped here on Juneteenth and bought some sapota (aka sapodilla). They had such big ones and I was so happy. Get 'em while they are still in stock. I was happy they were selling them because I don't know where else to buy these tropical fruit. The service is always good. The market got crowded fast; this place caters to the Caribbean community. I hope they expand the market because when there's a crowd, there's not much room to stand or pick through the fruit. I'm looking forward to shopping there again next month when they have the custard apples in stock.

The only place that I've found the actual soursop fruit which has amazing health benefits. I didn't know how to check its ripeness but the gentleman behind the register had no problem assisting me which was nice. Thank you TikTok.

Great place for east-west Indian and Caribbean items such as fruits, spices, veggies, drinks, and fish. This is a Flatbush / Crown Heights treasure.

The store is 5 stars! I variety of food stuff is great. I was even able to pick up some rose hip tea. They had breadfruit, sour sop, dasheen leaf and they have fresh fish -especially Jacks. All the seasoning and spices and hot sauce you desire. The reason for the minus star is because the owner scolded, berated his employees for something they did or didn't do for a straight ten minutes with customers around! Man do that in private. I will return and hope to get some oil down. It wasn't ready yet.

Lousy service; please don't ignore us when we ask you questions. Much of the fruit appears stale. Not exactly the cleanest looking place in the world. There's no reason to go here,

I discovered this food market on Instagram by someone that I follow. I started shopping at Labay Market during the winter of 2023, and I'm still a customer. I bought two watermelons a couple weeks ago, and I must say they had seeds like they supposed to and I haven't had watermelon like that in several years, it was the best and I'm looking forward to getting more when I go back tomorrow, a line with some coconut water to. Everyone at the market is nice and helpful.

Since I've been in New York, I've always wanted to have foods that I can eat from Jamaica. At some supermarkets, you'll get lucky and they will have things like ackee(canned), or Calaloo(canned) but most of the time, you wouldn't get many fruit options. When I heard this place offered fresh exotic fruit, I had to check it out. When I got there, I saw a long line for fresh coconut water. I would have tried it but I came for a different fruit, the soursop. It was my first time picking out a soursop but based on what my mom told me, to know it's ripe, it's needs to have a little softness, similar to an avocado. I picked up two, grabbed a breadfruit and a soursop juice from the fridge. The line to check out was a bit long but it moves relatively quick. My only complaint is that there weren't any price tags or labels on the things I got so it wasn't until I got to the register that I found out. The receipt doesn't even show how much each item was, it just says some thing like generic item 1 and then a price for all the items. Overall good selection

Nice place to get some of your Caribbean needs.. I give it 2 stars cause I hate the fact that the fruits getting spoiled an they don't even think to begin down the price to AT LEAST make a sale on it. They rather it go bad to get thrown out smh waste of food... I went there yesterday an it was about 40 avocados spoiled an rotten still being sold for $2 dollars each. Out of that 40 was about 1 avocado I found hoping to be go I ask if they can do $1dollar an the Mexican guy at the counter said no. The 3 for $5 mangoes outside was about 8 spoiled mangoes but I love mangos so I took of the best spoiled still eatable ones but had to leave that right with the avocados since I couldn't get 1 hopefully good avocado for a dollar. The $3.99 a pound mango are expensive af an still don't do down on the price even tho it's soft an getting rotten. I mean after all you guys should look out for your faithful customers. Give deals and discounts.. I'll come back tho cause I like the 3for $5 mangoes but I'll let it be known it's me who write this review.

Beautiful fruit that's hard to find like sour sop sugar cane passion fruit fresh coconut water and so much more. Good customer service. Friendly workers.

Yes a d it's overrated. They understand the laws of SUPPLY AND DEMAND and SUPPLY is held down hence DEMAND for good there is always high . The store is very CLAUSTROPHOBIC and they had very few EXOTIC fruits . They had Nase berry but that's it . O Soursop no Sweetsop No star apple no jackfruit. But they had fresh jelly coconut and sugar cane and big pints of cane juice . One thing they have in abundance is bitter melon which is actually hard to get but has a high medicinal value . I'd go back there for that alone . They had a lot of roots and herbs but they didn't have search mi heart or leaf of life those are essential

Best fresh coconut water in NYC. Just can't seem to drink enough. I'll wake up in the morning and often make that 20 min drive to savor its fresh taste...and munch on that pulp!

The mangoes were great, tamarind, great, star apple not a fan of it, but I tried it. Now, the soursop that i was been dreaming about ever since I learned about the market was such a disappointment. We bought two last Saturday, over the last couple of days they have turned black and gotten hard and not edible at all.

Hidden gem in Brooklyn you can find all the hard to find fruit here the owner and staff very nice ! The prices are great

Neighborhood staple, everyone who comes through is treated like family. Get their sorrel and fresh coconut (don't forget the jelly!) make sure you pay for your coconut inside, then take your receipt to the guy outside

So i needed to get some soursop. Never heard of this fruit but i heard its good for people w/ cancer. My daughter googled & found this market. She went in & asked the lady who was working there & she helped her. She showed my daughter how to pick out a ripe one, then the lady got another ripe one, showed her how to cut it & even let her taste it. Most stores wouldn't do this. Also a man overheard the convo, not sure if he was a worker or customer & paid for some leaves so my daughter can make me tea as well to drink. I just called the store to thank her & a man answered, i said my daughter was in about 6pm, the guy knew who i was. I told him plz tell the lady ty & he said he will pass the message & then he said they will be praying for me. Amazing service

Went to this place for the first time on Sunday, I found my flavor peppers, some call them sweet peppers. The peppers were beautiful and healthy in size. I found the dasheen leaves.... Ecstatic! and just before leaving, I saw they have a wonderful lady cooking Grenada food.... So, of course, I had to order the fried jacks with breadfruit with a beautiful array of peppers and vegetables. She was so sweet and made sure my order was abundant! I am coming back for the Oil Down! Did I mention the array of fresh soursop fruit and all of the Grenadian spices??? Go there! It is a small place but they have what you would want if you were in Grenada.

I've been looking for seamoss and wild fruits for a while now. So I went on Google to search for fruits and Caribbean markets. I called Trader Joe's and Whole Foods they didn't have any available. While searching the net, I was looking for wild crafted seamoss, soupsop, dragon fruit and sugar cane. Labay Market popped up on top of my feed and they had everything I was looking for. Outside the market on the side, there is a worker cutting up fresh coconut water with added flesh. Inside there are so many Grenadian fruits and vegetables, and luckily they had all the fruits I was looking for. Soupsop, cane juice, papaya, yellow dragon fruit, wild fish etc... I was also able to get my wild crafted seamoss(ocean harvest) definitely offical. Let me add, seamoss and soupsop sell out fast at this market so just be aware.

I dream about their fried fish cakes in my sleep! I'm seriously considering having it FedEx to me in Florida. It's that good. We were doing a Caribbean crawl and this wonderful place happened to be one of the places. We got to try their escovitch fish, their delicious fish cakes, fresh cut coconut, bammy, and their fresh pressed sugar cane and ginger juice. This place had me reminiscing about Jamaica. Let me get back to the fish cakes. The fish cakes were so good they had half the group running into the store to order them. Of course they were out of it for night which damn near broke my heart. They have a great selection of Caribbean fruits and vegetables. Things that you don't see in big grocery stores. They had sorrel, and yams, okra, several different types of choyote pear, etc, etc. I didn't know where to turn. Everything looks so fresh and green. It had the chef in me thinking about what I can make a lot of these ingredients. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. I'd love to come back here and explore.

Good Caribbean market. I love the fresh fruits and vegetables. The staff is friendly and I like coming and shopping.

They have a great selection of Caribbean goods that are often hard to find in the States. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Even when it's crowded, its still pleasant. The staff makes sure that things run smoothly.

A coworker of mine lives in Manhattan wanted the rice to make Haitian Black Rice (diri jon jon) and asked me to buy him jon jon since Manhattan doesn't have many Haitian/ Caribbean grocery stores. This store has EVERYTHING. Grabbed some spices for my mom that I didn't even plan on. And the guy behind the counter is so great!! I had a really nice convo with him and he was really knowledgeable about everything in the shop.

On my trip to Bklyn, I was introduced to Labay by brother in law and I must concur the two owners are pretty cool and knowledgeable about the natural teas, herbs, etc.. They have soursop leaves, Jamaican peppermint, lemon grass, etc. They also have different mangoes from Haiti, Jamaica, yellow dragonfruit, key limes and fresh seamoss! I am fan of this store whenever I'm on this side of Bklyn.. Note: They have whole coconuts which they cut up for you and sell you the meat and the juice as well.. It's a very long line, but I hear it's worth the wait, I haven't tried it but I will whilst up in NY! They have S, M and L.. I think it's like 6.00 for the small one and 20.00 for the large one, don't quote me.. Just go and you'll be impressed with the nooks and crannies/goods of the store.. Every time I go I can never go in and out.. I know I'm always going to spend like a least maybe half hour or more just trying to find stuff to bring back home. They even have essential oils and certain teas plus they have fresh fish on site etc.

Their selection is incredible. Tons of fresh and difficult to find fruit, vegetables and spices. They fly much of it in from Granada. The owner apparently has a 60 acre farm there. Real bananas (not the kind you get in the grocery store), passion fruit pulp, sour oranges, cocoa sticks, fresh turmeric, were just some of the things I found there that are can be hard to find in the US with the exception of Hawaii. It's not fancy but well worth a look inside and chat with the owner.

Whenever I go to Brooklyn, stopping at Labay is a must. I get my cheese, and my beverages. Can get crowded on a Saturday, and is usually closed on Sundays, however I visisted Labor Day Sunday and was glad to hear that they decided to open for the holiday weekend. Alot of produce from the Caribbean (FRESH).
