Labombe by Trivet - Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"Labombe by Trivet has us at ‘crème caramel with bitter Campari caramel’.Trivet’slaid-back sibling is inside the Como Metropolitan hotel in Mayfair, and modern European meals begin with golden farinata and hot tongue buns and end with the Shirohige—a dessert-style cocktail with a blend of potato pastry-infused vodka, coffee liqueur, Grand Marnier, and sake-infused cream." - Sinéad Cranna

Labombe is a revelation. A breath of fresh air in a somewhat dismal dining scene in Mayfair. Very reasonably priced and immaculately prepared food with high quality ingredients paired with a deep and insightful wine list. Pop in for a glass and a snack and come out enlightened and seeking more. Perfect service and a laid back but sophisticated atmosphere.

Extraordinary: across six people we tasted much of the varied but (thankfully) short menu. Utterly delicious - some of the best fresh fish in London, chunkiest of steaks and tender pork chops. Fair value for Mayfair. Excellent wine list. We will be back. Calm and chilled atmosphere. Charming team.

One of the best new openings in London. The pate en croute was sublime - perfect consistency or pastry and meat. The steak had so much flavour and the mushroom sides were lovely. The highlight though - the frangipane tart - perfection. The staff were all friendly and professional and the sommelier suggested a Turkish wine which was a real surprise. A great evening and an excellent addition to the London restaurant scene!
