"A neon sign in the upstairs window is the clue to finding this modern-day bistro, tucked away on the 2nd floor of a nondescript building. Abri is French for shelter and the restaurant imbues a sense of cosy luxury. The open kitchen takes centre stage and four huge crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The chef delivers virtuoso cuisine using French techniques and Vietnamese ingredients. For the full experience, opt for the 7-course menu." - Michelin Inspector

We went to Labri to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience. Every course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully balanced. The portions might look small, but by the end, we were perfectly full. The chef did an excellent job with the bisque — the shrimp flavor in the Amaebi cold pasta was rich and memorable (I only wished for a little more shrimp!). The foie gras terrine was also fun to eat — you can combine each element on the plate to create new flavors, and the tomato butter served with the bread was absolutely delicious. I could easily have more of it if I wasn’t already full. For dessert, I chose the blue cheese ice cream based on the staff’s recommendation, and it was incredible — creamy, flavorful, and just like eating a blue cheese cheesecake. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole evening feel very special. Highly recommend this place — refined, creative, and full of heart.

Eventually we made it Labri!!! Definitely love the atmosphere and adore the service, especially Huyền Trang, so caring and sincere. The butters surprise us, both tomato&garlic and seaweed norin. We tried the tasting menu of 8 courses. A perfect evening!

Made a dinner reservation at Labri for our friend's birthday. Day turned out terrible w the typhoon flooding the streets in the day and made it eventually an hour late and nearing closing but Labri was so understanding in keeping the table for us. Service team was topnotch from the start to end, especially Tran who speaks great English and explained every single dish to us. And of course the amazing food from the kitchen team too. The service did not stop there. Anh even tried helping us to book a ride home after the meal as the typhoon made it hard for us to get one. Overall an amazing experience.

We had planned to celebrate our friend’s birthday at LABRI on 30 October, but Hanoi was hit with heavy rain and flooding that day. It was our last evening in the city, and unfortunately, we were stuck in the hotel as there were no Grab rides available to take us to the restaurant. Despite the situation, when I updated the restaurant about our delay, their reply wasn’t just transactional—it was thoughtful. They reminded us to take care and be mindful of the weather, which felt so genuine and reassuring. What touched us most was that LABRI waited for us right up until their final order cut-off, even though they could have closed and gone home. We felt so grateful—and also a little guilty—that the staff stayed on just for us. Out of respect, we tried to finish our food quickly so they wouldn’t be held back, but never once did they make us feel rushed. The service was meticulous and heartfelt. The team took the time to explain each dish carefully, even when it was late. And after dinner, when we struggled again to book a car in the bad weather, one of the staff members didn’t just leave us to figure it out. She stayed with us and even tried to help book a car using her own local app—going above and beyond what we could have expected. Thank you, LABRI, for your kindness, patience, and excellent service. You made our trip a little brighter despite the stormy weather, and we’ll remember this experience for a long time.

L’Abri Oriental Bistro in Hanoi impressed me with its personal service. I hosted my friend’s birthday here and the team added a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel special. The open kitchen is a highlight, it creates warmth and connection with the chefs. The wine list was strong and we had an excellent time overall. The food was solid. The atmosphere and service make it an exciting addition to Hanoi’s dining scene.

American here. Be prepared for French-Japanese fusion. Kinda pricey for the area but worth it. Service was outstanding. Wine pairing was on point. If you want a high end meal and know this won’t be Vietnamese street fare, you’ll be very happy. Elevated, sophisticated and thoughtful. You won’t regret it.

I would give this restaurant 3.5/5. Service was excellent and food was tasty. The problem is the food ratio is very small with each plate being 2-3 mouthfuls. I did the tasting menu, which is maybe 8 courses, but you leave feeling a bit hungry. I would up the ratio of food a little or lower the price a bit as I didn't feel I got good value for money especially if I compare to somewhere like TUNG dining. I wouldn't go back as a result.

From the start to the finish, all the foods are amazing. We were really blessed to choose this place for my birthday dinner! Thank you!
