Labriola Ristorante and Cafe Review - Magnificent Mile - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Ever wish you could have been in certain rooms when important historical decisions were being made? We do. Some of those instances include the White House Situation Room during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Portland Trailblazers “war room” when they took Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan, or the 2006 meeting where movie executives decided that former N.W.A member Ice Cube was the perfect fit for a family fun movie full of laughs (“Are We Done Yet?” - 3.9 IMDB rating). Well you can add a new one to the list, because we wish we could have told the people who decided to pour all their money into Labriola Ristorante that it was a bad idea. And our guess is they poured a lot of money into this place, because it’s off of Michigan Avenue and Grand, and it’s massive, which you realize after seeing the large dining room hidden behind what already feels like a big space. If you’re familiar with the Purple Pig, Labriola is similarly situated on the upper part of Grand before it transitions below. The restaurant is split into the “Cafe” and “Ristorante.” The cafe is a glorified Panera, and it is what it is. If you work in the area, are a tourist, or happen to be doing touristy Michigan Avenue things, then we can maybe see popping in for a quick sandwich or coffee on the cafe side while on the go. But the Ristorante part would be a waste of your time. Simply put - it’s bad food. Pizza that disappoints, squid ink pasta that needs to be rethought, and poorly executed appetizers all make you shrug your shoulders while saying meh. We know there’s a successful location in Oak Brook, but it feels like they took a strip mall concept and stuck it into prime Michigan Avenue space. We get it, there’s a tourist population to cater to, but Labriola has a serious dining room meant for full-blown serious dinners. There’s no reason for anyone to pay $25-$30 for entrees or $50 for steaks and chops at a place like this. If you’re going to spend that kind of money on food, spend it somewhere else. Food Rundown Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken Panini It's an OK sandwich. The chicken is a little cafeteria lunch meat-like, but it's grilled well with solid oven roasted tomatos and a pesto mayo. Baby Escarole Salad Served with pancetta, shaved pecorino, and a poached egg. The lettuce once came out warm and the bacon is overcooked and over-salted. Squid Ink Campanelle Pasta Sounds great on paper, but the execution misses the mark. We like fishy- tasting things, but squid ink pasta shouldn't taste this fishy. The calamari in it is downright chewy too. Roman Artichoke Fried artichoke with olives and parsley. The artichokes are terribly bland, and the only flavor that remotely shows is from the olives. Salsiccia Pizza Topped with fennel sausage, tomato, basil, and mozzarella. The pizza crust is good, but the problem is bad cheese. Rarely do we notice bad cheese on a pizza, but this feels like a bunch of Kraft singles were thrown around." - Sam Faye

1st time trying this restaurant and I loved it. Great ambiance, mood lighting and great pizza. I ordered the calamari and margherita pizza. Especially love the private dining rooms for extra space and privacy. Everything was served hot and fresh. Prickly pear margaritas were delightful. I will be back. Shout out to the bar staff and Host/Hostess Ivan & Debbie this evening. So super friendly.

We came in close to closing. Autumn was working her butt off getting ready for the end of the night, but she greated us with a genuine smile! She’s a rockstar. Great food and a great Northwest Chicago suburb Italian food find. Alfredo was great and the pizza was making a play for a top tier pizza in town. Awesome place!

One of my favorite go to pizza spots! We usually have the Danny special but this time was craving a deep dish pepperoni pizza it was so good 10/10. We also ordered the Salmon with a side of mash potatoes flavors were really good. And of course I had to get some French fries on the side cause they are one of my favorites. The service was great the atmosphere had holiday cheer very festive for Christmas. This place never disappoints Oh and also grabbed a donut and cookie to go 🤤

We had a fantastic, authentically Italian lunch at Labriola with great service and delicious food. Our server and the entire staff were incredibly attentive, regularly stopping by to check on us and keeping our water, coffee, and drinks refilled without us ever having to ask. The only slight letdown was the portion size of the calamari given the price point, but everything else was hearty and generously portioned. The classic thin-crust pizza was a standout! We ordered a plain cheese pizza after hearing that Dave Portnoy reviewed this spot, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The flavor was unique, with a slight flop and a crispy undercarriage—I’d match Barstool’s score of 7.5, maybe even a bit higher. This location is conveniently set in a mall on Butterfield Road with plenty of parking, and they even have a dedicated carry-out window for easy pickup. Final tip—sign up for rewards through InKind! We got $25 off our order through a promotion, so it’s definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend Labriola for an excellent meal with top-tier service!

Rich the owner is a great guy!! I never ask for him or even mention that I know him all his personnel seemed to be in top form Food is always excellent. The pizza is off the chain. The salads are very, very good. Highly recommended new location inside the mall view over the pond very very very nice atmosphere

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share some honest feedback in hopes that it helps the restaurant improve. This was my first time dining here, and we came as a group of eight. The service was good, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was quiet, clean, and beautiful. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark. All of us ordered different pasta dishes, and about half of them were undercooked. The noodles weren’t fully cooked and didn’t have much flavor. I had the chicken Alfredo, and it was disappointing. There was barely any sauce, the noodles were hard, and the dish lacked seasoning. I was honestly surprised that something as simple as pasta wasn’t done properly. We were really hungry and it was our first meal of the day, so we just ate what we could without saying anything at the time. Everyone at the table agreed that while it was edible, it wasn’t good and they would not come back . I’m not sure if there are new owners or if changes are happening behind the scenes, but I hope this feedback is helpful. The space and service were great, but the food definitely needs some improvement.

Labriola aka labarra is a very welcoming place -the staff is very helpful! The bartender at happy hour ( she was covered in tats and took care of us!) The manager ( dude in the jacket with glasses) made sure we got an outdoor table to hear jazz. Great prices! Great happy hour! Very nice, we be back

We went to Labriola Ristorante on Sunday, January 19, 2025. We specifically selected a Sunday, and made reservations, because we have been here before and we love their skinny deep dish pizza. However, at this location, they only serve the skinny deep dish on Sundays, so Sunday it was. We arrived at Labriola for our reservation and we were greeted by the hostess, who promptly took us to our table. My boyfriend requested that we be seated in the dining room when he saw that the hostess was seating us in the bar area. We were told that they were closing the dining room and that we couldn't be seated there, despite seeing several people already seated there. So we took our seats at a table in the bar area. The waitress came over and took our drink orders. She came back with the drinks, and we were ready to order. First, we placed our order for the garlic knots, which we have had before and our previous experience had us salivating for more. Next, we placed our order for the skinny deep dish pizza. We were immediately told "sorry, we can't take your order for deep dish. We don't have any dough." WHAT??!!! Deep dish pizza is what they are known for! How can you not have any dough?? We were so disappointed, we almost cancelled our order and left. But we decided to order the Neapolitan pizza instead. Our garlic knots came out shortly after we placed the order. They were not the same garlic knots that we had a few weeks ago. The dough was dense (it is supposed to be light and flaky, like croissants) and they were just not good. We asked the waitress to have the kitchen remake them. As we were waiting for our garlic knots, we asked the waitress to check on our pizza. Turns out, it was already ready. She brought the pizza out and we dug in. Honestly, the pizza was fine. Not great, but fine. I wouldn't come here for fine pizza. The dough was good. Chewy. Sauce and cheese were... fine. As we were eating the pizza, garlic knots part 2 came out. Not great timing. We tried the garlic knots again, and realized that the problem with the garlic knots was the dough. No matter how many times we ordered them, they were going to come out the same. Interestingly enough, as we were eating our pizza, another group (maybe 3 or 4 people) came into the restaurant, and they were seated in the dining room area. The same area we had requested to be seated and were told that it was closing. This was disappointing to see, as we would not have chosen the bar to sit in, as there were TV's on and that was not the scene we were looking for. We were almost finished when the manager came over to clear some plates from our table. My boyfriend asked if she was the manager. She confirmed that she was. We told her about our disappointment in the garlic knots and the unavailability of pizza dough. She did acknowledge our disappointment, and took the garlic knots off of our bill. She wanted us to "end on a sweet note" so she offered us a complimentary dessert. We ordered the chocolate cake, which was very good. Honestly, if we had never been to Labriola before today, we would never come back. Tonight's experience was that bad. I just do not understand how a restaurant known for their pizza can run out of dough! We will be back, but cautiously. And we will call ahead of time to make sure they have dough. And cheese. And sauce. And... you get it.

Yelp
We came here for the Mother's Day brunch, and overall, it was a really nice experience. Kids under 3 were free, which definitely made this more affordable, and there were numerous buffet options, a make your own omelette station, and an amazing donut wall / pastry table. Only reason for a dock on a star is the service wasn't great - we had plates piling on the side that nobody collected, and our server was not present. However, other than that, it was a lovely experience!

Yelp
Labriola Ristorante this was our second time dining here. The first time was great excellent service and a pleasant experience indoors. This time, we decided to sit outside and unfortunately, the experience wasn't the same. We waited around 45 minutes just for a chicken salad. Maybe it was because it was a Friday evening and a bit busy, but it felt like an unusually long wait just for a couple of glasses of wine, a salad, and a pasta dish. Also, the outdoor seating was really uncomfortable the chairs were too high and awkwardly designed. I ended up with bruises behind my legs from constantly shifting around to try and get comfortable. It's disappointing because we were really looking forward to another great night out, but this visit missed the mark.

Yelp
This place was one of my favorite places to go in their old location. I recently visited the new location, a few doors down, and they have taken many of the good things that I used to like off their menu. Everything was better at your last location . The food, the ambience everything You guys have destroyed a good thing

Yelp
I went here with a friend who had said it was good. I went into this experience with high hopes. We were sat in the back corner of the restaurant which we thought was odd at first but did not think much of it. We then proceeded to wait at least 15 min before someone even came and greeted us. Then they came and asked us for drinks about 5 minutes later. It was not too busy but our server had around 4 tables in the section. We noticed the server was checking in on all the other tables except ours. I received the wrong drink after pointing to the one I wanted and receiving confirmation from our server. I was then served a non alcoholic mock tail and did not realize until I looked at my bill. Granted, he did not come back for a while to even give me the chance to ask. Nor did we get any refills or a chance to ask for another drink. The appetizer came quick and was good. Food came shortly after brought by the food runners. The gnocchi special of the day was delicious but it was a different store with the filet sliders. My friend usually goes there for the sliders but unfortunately two of the sliders were inedible. Each filet was a penny sized bit of meat covered in chewy fat. The buns were also burnt to a crispy. She claims it has never been like that in the past. I was curious as to if the meat was intentionally on the fatty side so I tried to catch my waiter to ask. He was again back and forth to his other tables while ignoring us. And i finally said excuse me and told him the situation asking if it's supposed to be like that so we know not to order next time. He then in an annoyed attitude picked up the plate and said "okay i'll show the manager" After 15 min no one came to talk to us or update us. Our server was no where to be seen. Then came back and gave us our check with a surprised look that the dish was comped. No explanation or apology from the manager either. After paying I asked to speak to the manager and the only thing she said was that she got other complaints of that same thing and will look into it with their supplier. This was understandable but the way we were treated tonight was not. We figured we weren't being provided the same service as everyone else because we were the youngest table compared to the older people and families. I know there is a stigma around younger people not tipping well and in return not having to give proper service. Nonetheless, I always give people the benefit of the doubt and thought the server could be having a bad day and still tipped over 20% as a courtesy although i believe in tipping based on customer service. Won't be coming back here again.

Yelp
We went for our Anniversary. They started us off with a complementary glass of champagne. We ordered a small deep dish, the Russo Sausage. It was delicious and their homemade sausage is as good as I have ever had. My wife had the eggplant parmesan and it's a winner. We also ordered the sausage and peppers appetizer, very good! Their crostini dipped in that broth!!! Our server was Kevin and he was awesome. He took care of us and even brought us complimentary carrot cake for dessert. It was amazing also, by the way. It was an amazing anniversary date night. I recommend Labriola and we will be back. I'll try their thin crust and another pasta dish next time.

David L.

Yelp
I initially thought I was simply having an off meal, but came here to see whether my experience was an exception or part of a broader trend. We stopped by Labriola on a Monday evening at the request of my kids, who had been looking forward to the chicken parmesan with pasta. Unfortunately, the dish fell short of expectations--the chicken was dry, and the overall flavor lacked the quality we had come to associate with the restaurant in the past. As we left, my kids even joked that it might be time to call in Gordon Ramsay for a turnaround. It's disappointing to see a once-reliable favorite miss the mark.

Yelp
The garlic knots are no joke! Loved them. The ambiance is on point. The host was fantastic, but the service was what left us needing more. We ordered a zombie dust and got a 312, even after asking us twice for clarification. The thin crust was missing something, i heated it up at home and added oregano but it was still bland to me. It looked way better than it was. My partner ended up with some stomach issues the rest of the day. Add to that one of those annoying "service charges" when they're already nickel and diming on the "what used to be included" extras on things? We won't be back. We could not have even let the server know about it because they hardly came by during the entire visit. Maybe an off day? Idk but we won't return to find out.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
My wife and I went here for a date night. The food and drinks were horrible. We ordered the toasted raviolis. The ravioli was cooked well, but the cheese filling was awful, they put a pink sauce on the plate that was miserable and they topped it with some sort of beef and giardinara. It was awful. I ordered the skirt steak. It was poorly cooked and tasted bad. My plate looked like a soup from all the oil and juice on the plate. It also comes with fries and were drowning on the plate. My wife got Richie's chicken or something close to that name. It was two pieces of breaded chicken in what looked like a soup. Made it extremely soggy. It was way too lemony and lacked any balance. The drinks weren't any better. Maybe it's on us for not ordering pizza or Italian dishes. Everything was terrible and our waitress never once asked how the food was. I think she knew better. The place is so big and the food is extremely poor. I doubt they will remain open if they don't improve quickly. We will not be returning.

Yelp
Dined here on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm with 4 adults. Service was very slow. Took about 15 minutes just to get acknowledged after seating. Waitress botched drink orders. Appetizer was the stracciatella. Presentation was odd - three drinking glasses filled with components and served with pita bread (an Italian appetizer?). Entrees were not good - steak frites was chewy, salmon was ok but miniscule portion, gnocchi was bland with cream sauce, and the oriochette pasta was probably the best tasting of the 4. Carrot cake was ok but not memorable. $250 for 4 people - 90 minutes to get in and out. I think there are better options out there.

Yelp
Fun place. Love the bar. Good cocktails. The food is a hidden gem. Very good and nice portions. The customer service is great too
google avatar

Yelp
The same great Richie Burger, just like the old Labriola used to have. Fresh cut French fries dusted with fanciful salt flakes add just the right touch of flavor. I understand wanting to combine the old Labriola and LaBarra locations into one, keeping the large private/party room and great patio. However tbh, as your typical family on-the-go, we just don't go to sit down full service restaurants so much as fast casual which we'd rather prefer. So I get to enjoy a Ritchie Burger about 1/5 of the amount of times that I used to.

Yelp
Recommended but what did they do to their menu? They changed locations and possibly their menu as I couldn't find my old favorites when I went to order online. We did a take out order which was ready when it was supposed to be, which was nice, but really did like their old spot. Can't speak to the inside really but food is still tasty, fresh and flavorful. Some menu items can be pricey but food is of high quality and take out orders are packed well. Burgers are especially delicious.

Yelp
The pizza here is exceptional! I love the thin flavorful crust and the texture. It has a nice bite to it without being crunchy or too crisp. Chicago Deep dish and Skinny Deep dish are available, but I had the Chicago Thin Crust. Please be aware this is not tavern style and contains no cornmeal. The specific pizza I had was the Danny's special containing sausage, onion, mushrooms, and green pepper. The Cesar salad is pricy, but also exceptional and well worth the price. I loved the different flavors of unsweetened tea. It was the end of the night so they kindly gave me a large to go cup.

Yelp
While in the area, I was craving authentic pizza and discovered this family-owned gem in Oakbrook. Everything we ordered at La Barra was absolutely delicious! We started with a tantalizing arugula salad featuring pickled fennel, hazelnuts, and a lemon vinaigrette so good it could be sipped on its own. For the main course, we ordered the thin-crust Danny's Special pizza, loaded with house-made sausage, onions, and bell peppers--delizioso! To top it all off, we indulged in a warm chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet, crowned with vanilla gelato, chocolate sauce, and pecans. It was epic--so good it was gone before I could snap a photo!

Yelp
Came with a group of friends on a Saturday night. It gets packed! Make sure you make a reservation! Positives Lots of parking in the shared strip mall Large restaurant Menu had lots of variety- my favorite item that I ordered was the mama's meatballs. My friend had the shrimp - I tried one of hers and it was very tasty Another friend ordered the zucchini chips- they were tasty too Could be improved Filet sliders were tiny! Quality of meat was tough and I wasn't asked how I wanted my meat cooked Took a long time for server to come back. We were seated in the patio and she also had tables inside and had to go to the inside bar to get drinks Stalls in bathroom. It is hard to see if they are occupied and not all stalls lock. Women were accidentally opening doors on others.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
Tbh the service and food here is mid but better than going to a Panera. My bf and I each got a sandwich and salad combo. My meatball sandwich was okay - nothing wrong with it but something was missing in terms of flavor. Caesar salad could've used more dressing. However, this place gets 4 stars due to the amazing carrot cake. Holy moly this cake is to die for. Super moist, the cream cheese frosting is on point, and the candied walnuts are EVERYTHING. If you come here please get the carrot cake!

Kristina D.

Yelp
Loud- can't hear due to music and acoustics. Terrible service and food. Our server was really disinterested in serving her patrons. She hardly checked on us. She could be seen on her phone sitting in the back. The food was mediocre at best. My lemon chicken was dry but she never checked back to see how the food was. The best thing to try is their pizza. It's the best thing on the menu. Otherwise. It's expensive and not worth the trip.

Donna B.

Yelp
We ordered a deep dish pizza for the 3rd time in 2 months this. The pizza is the best deep dish you will ever eat. The pizza is huge, filled with delicious cheese, lots of sausage and we added ricotta cheese. It's so much better than Lou Malnati's. You won't be disappointed unless you don't love lots of cheese and sausage.
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
In town on business and decided to try Labriola. Blown away by the flavor of the orecchiette Calabrese! Highly recommend. Fresh bruschetta was also very good. They package the bread, cheese, tomatoes and balsamic all separately so the bread doesn't get soggy. A must-try if you're in the Lombard area.

Yelp
Did not love the changes. We were seated out side in a booth which was awkward and restrictive for conversation. It was a celebration:( the booth felt like the ugly sofa pulled out on Uncle George's porch. Our waiter never cleared a dish, the table was tight to begin with and the glasses we sat down with remained on the table till the end of dinner. I had to ask 3 times for silverware and napkins AFTER our food arrived. Over all the pizza was yummy, a nice gluten free crust (which you pay dearly for) but my advise is do not order any pizza with arugula - 2nd time the pizza was delivered not even warm. The other pizzas were hot, this has changed over the last year or so - I've ordered it before and it came out hot topped with fresh arugula. One of the cocktails way not good, the was it was so heavy it was undrinkable (for my bartender son) but the waiter never asked how our anything was. So it was not fixed.

Yelp
Decent spot for pasta and pizza. Casual spot mostly but good for most occassions. Portions are medium, great appetizers and comp bread if you ask for it. Service was a bit slow and there were only 3 parties there during the weekend mid afternoon. Price is $$, average entree is $18-$20, kids meals are also available
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
There were 7 of us here. We opted for a new place, something we haven't tried. They have pastas, pizza, salads, a decent burger selection, and a few other items. They have beer, wine, and various cocktails. This place is pretty large. We sat in the back by the pond. Since it's winter, they have it enclosed with heaters. It's a nice view. Our wait staff was a little slow. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or busier or a combination thereof. They did accommodate our large group. I enjoyed the Caesar salad with chicken. It was large and filling. There was just enough dressing. I ordered the jet setter drink (lemony twist). It was strong but good. I would come back, I had a great time and enjoyed the food.

Yelp
Another successful holiday party!! I worked with Beth the manager who is amazing and very detailed oriented. She was so nice to assign Andie on the day of the pary to help since she was going away for The weekend. We hosted about 100 folks open bar all night with excellent dinner. I am very pleased with everything and look forward to hosting more events

Yelp
Second time here in last 5 weeks. First visit great food and service. Goat cheese, fish and chips,gnocchi...all great. Today not so great. GF ordered soup and waitress disappeared so had to get Parmesan cheese herself. I got brunch omelette and had to ask for condiments I.e. salt, pepper, chalupa sauce. Just not up to par, which was surprising. Then get a 3% service charge..what is that? The no explanation general add on? Sure hope it wasn't for the slow service. I can't be the only person fed up with declining service and quality for more money? Soup, sandwich, omelette, smattering of hash browns(small diameter and smashed flat) ice tea and slow service for $48 plus tip. Wouldn't mind paying more if everything better. Peace

Yelp
We had a team holiday lunch here and it was lovely! We needed a last minute reservation for 10 after our other one dropped out, and this was the perfect spot. The ambiance was cozy for Christmas, and the food was delightful! I loved the salad I got - huge portion size - and my side of fries was also delicious. Recommend this place!

J P.

Yelp
Ordered for pickup and food was ready in 25 min. Entree was $22+ with taxes and fees which is a bit pricey for what you get. Food itself was tasty and eggplant, sauce, cheese was well cooked. May consider ordering again.

Yelp
Initially attempted to update reservations with the restaurant over the phone because open table was showing an earlier time. Should have been my first clue service would be slow. Was told there was no availability even though it was showing several openings. Waitress was extremely slow, she didn't come back for long periods of time. Food came out at all different times. The bread came with our meals which should have came at the beginning. Also, glasses were sticky and smudged, clearly dirty. Food was okay, not bad but not sit down quality. No one refilled waters or any drinks for that matter. Felt like our money would have been better spent elsewhere. Would not return!

Yelp
We loved our dining experience at La Barra - Oak Brook! It was a beautiful Friday evening and we waited for a bit so we could sit outside on the patio. What a great vibe! The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! We shared Richie's Lemon Chicken and a house salad and it was so fresh and delicious. Our friends enjoyed the Spaghetti and Meatball and the Lemon Chicken. Everything was spectacular!

Yelp
Pizza was good. Service was not great. They forgot ingredients on a pizza so I came back to get them. They acted like they were put out even though I drove back to get the missing toppings? Which seems strange. No apology or like how can we make this right for you. Then they called my husband the next day and hung up. I don't think we'll be back, even though the pizza was ok.

Jeannie C.

Yelp
We definitely preferred when it was LaBarra. The food was not nearly as good, service seemed a little unorganized and dishes were brought to table with a layer of black dust. We had visited the old restaurant many times and always had a good experience. Food was just not great and unfortunately won't bring us back. I think they are trying but it's just not same quality of food and experience.
google avatar

Josie N.

Yelp
Food was fantastic as usual - standouts were Brussels sprouts, the Parmesan crisp in the bread service, and meatballs. HUGE miss on service. We were barely waited on, had to ask for drink refills, the waitress seemed totally overwhelmed. The waitress mixed up our salad order - we never received the Caesar that we had ordered. We pointed this out and she said she was correcting the bill, just to run our card on the wrong bill from another table‍. We asked the manager for correction but no apologies were made. Forced to leave a 20 percent tip plus the 3% service fee. Feel ripped off. Probably never coming to this location again.

Yelp
I can't believe I am leaving a bad review for Labriola, it was the place for me for quite a while and I sometimes even order catering here. First trip since they merged Labriola and Labara here today I think I am done with this place now. Few changes that are miserable. 1. Speed is extremely slow. it was very quick for order and food came quick. Now enjoy 20 minutes of sitting at table and no waiter/waitress come and another 30 minutes for anything to come to table. 2. Price of all items increased about 15% 3. You don't order and pay from front desk now it's a 'sit down' restaurant so expect to add another 15%-20% tips for same thing Labriola used to offer 4. Bakery items/section is gone, I do not see cakes anywhere anymore 5. They also added a 3% service fee coming from nowhere

Yelp
Don't ever bother trying to plan a private event at this location because no one will ever call you back, even though you called multiple times and left multiple voicemail. The most unprofessional establishment I've ever seen will never even dine there again from the disrespect and inattentiveness of their management. Amy should be written up for losing a group of 60 people. Went to Seasons 52 instead. They had great service.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and dinner. Happy hour includes $7 10 inch cheese pizza, $5 beers, $5 well drinks, and $5 wines. I really liked the sparkling moscato I had. The cheese pizza was also tasty! For my dinner I had the gnocchi bolognese. It was the perfect portion of gnocchi and sauce. I really enjoyed the flavor. There were so many things on the menu that looked good to me. Most of the pasta options were around $20. The restaurant has a nice open but cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly as well. We were seated towards the patio and all of a sudden it got really cold. I'm not sure if that is always an issue or if someone opened a door for too long. At that point, I was ready to leave. Overall, I enjoyed the food and look forward to trying more on the menu!

Yelp
Geeeeez, this new concept is no improvement. My husband and I went for the second time to the new fancy version after having gone to the regular labriola version of the restaurant hundreds of times only to spend $70 on two meals with an absent waitress, flavorless food, and no salt and pepper on the table even, little plates but no bread. We were treated like we were invisible and spent money on tasteless pasta. I love the Richey Burger and will be coming back for that via takeout but NEVER AGAIN eating here bc it's a waste of money and time. Seems greedy to make it SOOOO fancy/ $$$ and have the quality of everything go down.

Yelp
We liked this place because it was fast casual while we were out running errands that was quality. New locations is now sit down waited on service with a 3% service fee, build it into your pricing and no one would complain. No longer fast or casual, $98 dollars for three meals no alcohol or apps. Salads were good, fries were still raw and the once fantastic cheese sauce was now bland butter sauce. My wife and I would split an order of cheese fries on every visit and tell people about how great they were. Not sure how they lost the recipe when moving. It's now another restaurant in the area that is just fine and will have a tough time competing with everyone else. Might go back might not........

Yelp
Came with some friends for dinner. My eye went immediately to the linguini fra diavlo that had shrimp , calamari and clams as that's kind of my go to dish but I had decided ahead of time to be healthy so I ordered the Lemon Kale salad and added shrimp. Really tasty so I didn't miss out. At least that's what I'm telling myself. Two friends got the eggplant Parmesan which they said was good and the other friends got the lemon chicken with smashed potatoes, also supposedly tasty. I wasn't impressed with the bread, not being warm and honestly tasted like it was missing salt. We split a warm cookie with gelato for dessert, plenty to share. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Nice place with outdoor seating and a fire pit but seemed a little chilly to sit outside.

Yelp
When this place was in the old location it was delicious. They moved across the parking lot. Change the whole concept and it was horrible. Grilled calamari was like rubber. Minestrone soup was undercooked , vegetables were hard. I asked the waitress. If this is an Italian restaurant, why don't you get any bread? And she said we don't give bread service for lunch only dinner, but if you want some, I can bring you some. What? What a bummer because we used to like this place. won't be going back here again.

Yelp
Came to Labriola for lunch. Miss the old storefront, bakery and business model. We ordered fried calamari for my daughter. The portion which is called "shareable" was too small for my 8 year old and way too expensive for $16! The margarita pizza was good but the cheese was out of proportion with the pie. The chips were very greasy. Sad to say, this won't be a repeat visit. Also, my daughter did not receive water and the waitress did not come by. After we flagged someone down for a glass of water our waitress finally showed up to ask what we wanted. Was it too hard for the employee to grab a glass of water? Also no more bread at the table for lunch. Only for dinner and only if you ask. Ambiance was nice.

Yelp
Just came for Easter Brunch. Everything delicious and huge assortment. Shrimp cocktail to beef tenderloin. Many salads . Many breakfast items as well as lunch and kids food too. Assortment of desserts from creme brûlée to carrot cake and everything in between. Too much to name. Very well priced and quickly seated. Our server was Ana who was sweet and prompt

Yelp
And cheese. And sauce. And... you get it.

Yelp
I agree with some other recent reviewers who share dissatisfaction with the level of service. I loved Labriola Bakery Cafe and had been to La Barra a few times with fine experiences but this was my first time since the merge/change. It was incredibly disappointing. The waitress was inattentive and lacked customer service. She was slow, unfriendly, and not knowledgeable about the menu. The food itself was fine except for a badly made tiramisu dessert, but two espresso drinks were pretty awful. I won't be returning again.

Yelp
So sad the former restaurant set up is gone . We were extremely frequent diners at older location and menu. So disappointed that restaurant is full service table setting. Loved the bakery, gelato, coffee service. Now we pass it up after all the years of attending Drury Lane productions as subscribers. It was our go to spot for a great lunch .. now we are into alternative. I understand why you expanded, but as far as a consumer, it wasn't broke. Can't you bring back some of the older ways.

Yelp
From service, food to ambiance this place is FANTASTIC & I definitely recommend booking your private events here!

Yelp
This is not deep dish. It's Detroit style pizza. If that's what you want - this is pretty awesome, but it ain't Chicago deep dish. The dough to non dough ingredients is completely reversed. It wasn't bad, but it's not deep dish.

Yelp
very disappointed. Chose this place for Christmas Eve dinner specifically for the cavatelli vodka sauce and when ordered they were out of it. Then ordered the orchiette and they were out of that too but didn't let us know until everyone else's food came out. The calamari appetizer was enough for one person. Took a drink off the table before the drink was finished!!!!! Felt rushed. They opened at 4 and we were there at 6:30 and they were out of 2 pasta dishes. No that doesn't make any sense.

Yelp
Just a hard NO. Our first time since they moved to the new location. I don't understand why people make bad business moves like this. They got rid of their breakfast during the week which we've been going to for years when my kids were young. It WAS one of the best breakfasts. The food was not good at all. Got a $16 calamari in a small plate. The ambience was not inviting. It smelled like a movie theater in there with old carpeting. Service was just ok. Who made this poor decision?? WHO ALLOWED THIS MOVE? If you loved the old Labriola, let me save you a trip and from disappointment. Don't do it. I'm sorry if you're a family business but you need help.

Yelp
Great food !!! Great in the summer, they have outdoor seating, looking at a fountain.
