Big LA Chefs Conference Restaurant Industry Event Returns Next Month | Eater LA

"Returning Monday, October 30, I note that the annual LA’s Chef Conference (which began in 2018) comes back after a three-year pandemic hiatus in partnership with LATTC’s Culinary Arts Pathway; the program includes panels and live cooking demonstrations and focuses on topics such as sustainability, food TV, and the evolution of food journalism with speakers like Bill Addison, Ruth Reichl, and Lesley Suter. I see there’s a full sustainability summit covering profit, sea, people, and land, plus a networking lounge, a lunch with several tasting stations, and an after-party that will feature vendors including Irv’s Burgers, Prince Street Pizza, and a collaboration between Wes Avila and Mini Kabob. Produced by Brad Metzger Restaurant Solutions, the event sold out its first round of tickets and will release a second round on September 15 at 10 a.m.; tickets include access to all programming, lunch, parking, and the after-party, and 15 percent of sales will be donated to Regarding Her." - Virali Dave

I've been using LaChef Catering for years. I highly recommend Jen and Melissa! Both are extremely knowledgeable and run an amazing business! The food is always delicious. Melissa is always so helpful and patient with me as I go about selecting menus. Our guests always rave about their food. LaChef knows our house, my likes, my needs, and they always help us to have perfect parties. You won't be sorry! Oh...and carmelized sweet bacon is an absolute must at every event!

I like to support good local companies run by good people making a good product. La Chef Catering checks all these boxes. I work at a local hospital and during the pandemic you may recall news stories about restaurants donating meals to front line workers. We received meals from all over the St. Louis area and I am not even remotely exaggerating when I say La Chef was consistently mentioned as the BEST meal we had dropped off for months and months by our staff. Keep in mind nearly every day someone was donating meals - that is a lot of competition. You will not be disappointed.

Only shameless gushing will do to begin to describe what Lachef does for a host! They did a BIG party for me which was handled to perfection from scrumptious food beautifully presented by genuinely pleasant, attentive servers to meticulous clean up of my own bone china and Irish crystal that left my kitchen cleaner than at the beginning of the event. Of course they are able to provide everything needed for serving, but I love that they will work carefully with my own things as well. When not expecting cast of thousands. we do pick up (or delivery) and call on them frequently for dinner parties of the ten guest variety, their menu being so varied and delicious that we can have repeat guests who never are served the same thing twice...although I get a lot of requests for repeat dishes, especially apps! The candied bacon is a straight up sin. Not only do they have a huge menu, and can help you create a unique dinner from all their usual offerings, but they will work with you if you have a favorite recipe as well. Mary, queen of the kitchen for forever, has magic hands! Her special for me Irish stew and colcannon for St. Patrick's Day were beyond beyond. During the pandemic we have taken frequent advantage of their dinner for four option, which you can find on their website. It is perfect for the bubble people one has dared to entertain, and can be adjusted to your wishes. The Lachef staff is easy to deal with, down to earth and accommodating for mere mortals, but sufficiently skilled to lay out tea for the queen (and the tea they did for me was indeed fit for the queen...lavender egg salad sandwiches alone were worth polishing the silver!) They will NOT steer you wrong! If you are looking for a treat (guys, a surprise dinner for the bride?), or just want your reputation as the hostess with the mostest solidified, don't miss Lachef!
