Ladda Thai House

We ordered takeout from here and it was super solid! The pads see you was well made, the papaya salad had that spice, but wasn’t over the top. We weren’t super appreciative of the small dried shrimp in there, though the crab fried wontons were more like purses, deep-fried, super thick with a really good filling. I think we like the wings the best! They were awesome, huge and very flavorful.

Vegetarian Food Review: I am so glad I went there and they are open late night. Phew. I went back here after 2 years and the food flavors felt lovely. I really enjoyed the tofu and garlic as well as the tofu skewers. The wafers with skewers had very odd and stale taste (my friend is also a cordon bleu chef who said same) I am not a great fan of soft tofu but alas since there is cross contamination in frying oil I had to settle for soft tofu. I wish restaurants would understand that vegetarians cannot digest animal fat from oil. I will change my review when I am assured that the oil has been separated because the vegan and vegetarian food is not vegan and vegetarian if animal fat is involved. The service is GREAT and I look forward to going back to try more things on their vegetarian section. The vibe is cool too.

Since discovering this place, it has quickly become a favorite. The food is so delicious, from staples like Pad Thai and curry to specialties like their Pad Eggplant with Tofu. I highly recommend their Beef Salad, no others I've tried can even compare. Service is always so friendly and helpful, and I love the warm and slightly hip vibes. Ladda is just 5 stars, top to bottom.

I had the chicken stir fry, tom kha soup, and summer rolls. Everything was delicious! Fresh flavors, tasty food, and friendly service. I’ll definitely come back!

Really wonderful food! And there is always this very friendly and kind man who works there, he’s always so kind and has a big smile on his face when we come. We love their Pad Thai with Shrimp and the Singha beer. 10/10 recommend coming here. Cute Patio as well with a few tables having a charming fire feature.

Ladda Thai is a fantastic spot for authentic Thai cuisine. The food is flavorful, well-portioned, and reasonably priced. I do delivery and get quite a few pickups from here or I would not have know about them. I honestly should have since this is an incredible restaurant. The space is so welcoming with it's décor and open space. The menu was overwhelming with so many options that made me want one of everything! And I do not typically drink alcoholic drinks with a meal but glancing over that and I simply must come here sometime for drinks and snacks since they have a ton I want to try! I ordered the chicken karee puffs which are incredible. That flaky delicious pastry is next level! And with their cucumber salad - yum! I also got the salmon avocado bowl. Audi explained to us about the bowl - it was a traditional Lao bowl. All of the food was so delicious and so clean. My friend got their fried zucchini and their fried items are done so mindfully, not greasy and great flavor. I cannot wait to go back!

I love love love this place. Have been multiple times since being in Portland. I stumbled upon this place because it was one of the only places open at around midnight when I was coming home from going out and hungry. I got the usual pad Thai with like level 4 spice and it was so delicious. The pad Thai comes with tofu shrimp and chicken so I love that it was full of protein and still so tasty. I've gotten it multiple times. I took my family here when they came to visit and my parents had never had Thai food but they left being Thai lovers. We had the crab fried rice, garlic prawns, Tom yum soup and pad Thai and rangoons for starter. Everything was so tasty and delicious and fresh and hot. The service was so quick we weren't finished with appetizers before they brought our main dishes. We sat outside in the patio which was nice. Everyone was so full and still had some to take home. The menu here is quite big and overwhelming and normally too large a menu is red flag for me but I think this place is the exceptions because everything I've had from here has been good. I want to try new places but then end up back here because I know it won't disappoint. Unfortunately I somehow only have a picture of the pad Thai but just know the food looks as good as it taste.

Lovely ambiance and really good food. Dee Dee Thai is the same place - final page of menu is all vegan. I've had four main courses here, all mild but still with a decent kick so if in doubt of spice level I'd recommend going lower :)

Have eaten here a handful of times due to late night hours (which is nice, they are open late). Service is great. Food is hit or miss. Bangkok fried chicken was disgusting, tasted like old meat. Eggplant oriental was good but oily. Curry taste good but made multiple people feel unwell. Sometimes the food is good but im hesitant to return due to mixed experiences

We had the Basil fried rice with chicken and the tofu eggplant rice dish. Both were so delicious! The eggplant, tofu, the fried rice, the veggies, the black rice, it was ALL yummy!  Honestly, their food is 5 stars! Oftentimes at Thai restaurants the meat is a bit sketchy while the sauces and rice are good, which is why we chose one vegan dish. But their chicken was quite good along with everything. The server was super friendly and nice, 5 stars on service too! I like that they have outdoor seating, but we sat indoors as there were no heated lamps, and the fireplace was not turned on.  The reason the overall score for me is a 4 is that it was super cold, it was barely warmer inside than being outside. I also would like the health score to increase. Both are not difficult fixes. As far as atmosphere, it's not cute and trendy like a bistro, but it was fine, please see my photos. I still very much recommend this place based on the quality of food and friendly service! Definitely the best Thai food I have had in a loooong time! This was my 2nd visit, the first time we had the eggplant tofu dish only.

All three dishes we tried were delicious!! The service was a great, easy access, plenty seating, and a clean restaurant with a good ambiance. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Thai food.

Delicious food. I originally ordered because they were open late and was delighted with the quality of the food. It was well seasoned and had a good amount of meat which is unusual for delivery and take out. I was quite impressed!

The reviews do not lie! We were skeptical at first that a place could be that delicious...Not only was our food fresh and good for the soul, but the ambience was so cheerful and clean! And our waiter was so happy and helpful. WOW, amazing experience. We had the OMG appetizer which was scrumptious, the Ladda Spicy Basil (not spicy if you get it mild, which I did because I'm chicken), and the Red curry. All divine! And here's the thing--it was all BEAUTIFUL. These guys are artists! Who puts an orchid on an appetizer, I ask you? Definite attention to presentation detail that made me definitely want to come here again! And the food can back up its beautiful appearance!

The best Thai Restaurant I have ever been to in my life! My partner and I sat outside where they have table fireplaces at each bench with heated seats. The food was nothing more than amazing! Each plate was so beautifully displayed you barely want to mess it up but it's so delicious you can't help but to stuff your face until you can't anymore! Haha! I give this restaurant 10/10!

I've been here a couple times, both takeout and dine in. I'm vegan, so all of the food I had was from the vegan menu. I really appreciate that it has a different section on the menu because it makes finding what I can have a lot easier, without having to customize any of it. Takeout: When I came for takeout, the waiter still offered me water and a table which was very nice. The wait was not long at all and all of the food was hot and delicious. I liked the decor and it kept me occupied during my pretty short wait Dine in: I loved the plating of the food, and there's some cool tables here. We sat at a normal booth but they have one right next to a big window and it looked cozy. They also have outdoor seating but it's still cold outside so I haven't experienced that yet. I got a thai green tea which I'd never had and was in love with it. Pricing: Main dishes were around 15-20, my sides were like ~10, the green tea was 6.50 I wouldn't say it's competitive, but I don't think the prices are offensive either. Please don't forget to tip

Came here after a day of traveling and disc golf as it was close to our accommodations and open late, left incredibly satisfied. The food and service were both superb. We had a couple appetizers (fresh rolls and a crab egg roll thing with a punny name), Tom kha soup, and drunken noodles. The spice levels are accurate and the food is delicious; our server was kind and handled all parties present (about 4 tables spread both inside and outside) without issues. If you're looking for a late night food option or quality Thai food in general, this place will not disappoint!

I used Uber Eats who gave excellent delivery. I ordered Pad Thai and O My God. The rice noodles where very overcooked and was just a lump in the container. I did not see or taste any crab in the O My God. Maybe the food had been better if I went to the restaurant, but I cannot recommend delivery.

The food is delicious. The service is fast and friendly, the ambience is delightful. It's a little brightly lit inside, but all the flowers and the welcoming lights, and the gentle background dining music made a really friendly atmosphere for meeting friends. The food is unbelievably delicious,whether you choose meat, protein or vegan. I highly recommend!

Did not get enough pics, but GREAT service, cool outdoor tables with heating, and good portions. Recommendations: If you like crunchy/crispy: Coconut Zucchini w/ Chicken vegetable/tofu: Thai Grilled Eggplant!! something different: King Salmon Curry Peek Kai wings are fuego as well.

We found this AMAZING restaurant by accident! Oh, how happy we all were!!! The food was absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was calm and relaxing (although it was a Tuesday night) nice soft music, clean and very good service with a smile! We shared the "Oh my god" appetizer, beef drunken noodles, chicken yellow curry and another curry dish (I think #52), everything was excellent. Highly recommend!!

where do i even start?? this lovely establishment has swiftly become my new go-to thai spot, and even better yet, so close to home. the server was exceptionally friendly and quick and even complimented my friends hair color!! my friend and i shared the salad rolls with tofu and let me say, some of the best. the peanut sauce was excellent. our entrees were even better! the portions are great for the price and the outdoor seating benches are heated! couldn't have asked for a better experience, will be going back. thank you Ladda!!

With looking up Thai restaurants, me and my partner loved that this restaurant is opened late! We were able to get a table outside, and the waiter brought out a portable fire pit! It was perfect for the summer evening. We order the fried chicken, pad Thai, and homemade icecream (coconut and mango). Both were really delicious. However, the best part of our meal was our waiter / arrive he provided. He was very attentive and kind.

Everything was really good here, service and all! The fried rice, pad woo zen, mango sticky rice...everything was delicious! Came here because of yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! And the topper was the service, amazing friendly service! Definitely recommend this place!

We were delighted to find this cozy corner restaurant on our walk home! Ladda's beautiful seating, complete with attractive fire pit and heated cushions, made for a wonderful outdoor dining experience. I could automatically imagine bringing visiting friends to eat and chat here. We were seated right away by a friendly server. The menu was full of traditional Thai dishes with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options, which I was gratified to see. We ordered the yellow curry, tom kah, and stir fried eggplant. All the dishes tasted flavorful and authentic, with fresh ingredients. I'd love to try some of the fried starters as well as the tofu larb or papaya salad next time we return. I definitely recommend stopping by Ladda whether you're in the mood for a meal or a snack, you won't regret it!

Saw this new spot on my Instagram feed and I love Thai food and craving some today. Ladda is located around 42nd & SE Hawthorne. The menu has something for everyone. We ordered pork/vegetable steamed dumplings, Larb Avocado & Beef Massuman curry ( so tender yum) which they serve with star shaped black & jasmine rice. The service staff are friendly and they know the menu well. They have outdoor seating with cozy fireplaces & picnic tables as well as plenty of indoor seating. We enjoyed all of our dishes & will definitely come back

New favorite! In a field saturated with Thai restaurants, this one stands out. We had the chicken wings in a tasty sweet and salty sauce, the duck larb (fantastic), and the crispy whole trout (wow!!). I appreciate that sticky rice comes with the larb and isn't a separate charge. The staff is super/friendly. This is where we'll be going for Thai food. It is really a cut above all the standard Thai restaurants in the Mt Tabor/Hawthorne/Richmond/Division area.

Really delicious food, kind service and romantic environment. I got the beef massaman curry, the beef was tender, veggies cooked really pleasantly and the presentation was stunning. I also got the fresh wrapped as an appetizer and the peanut sauce and the freshness of the wrap was delicious, again beautiful presentation. My Husband got the pad see ew, I enjoyed the dish but it wasn't quite as amazing as the other dishes. My husband said he was looking for a bit more flavor in the dish. This is the only reason I'm not giving the restaurant 5 stars. We also had the younger gentleman as our server and he was really nice. Definitely going to come back!

This is a welcome new addition to our neighborhood. Super friendly, great food, decent prices. We're regulars already.

We had the BEST dinner here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere cozy, but what really made the evening was the exceptional service. We walked in without a reservation, 4 adults and 4 unruly children under the age of 9. Not only was the server/host completely accommodating (love all the vegan options!) but went above and beyond to make our experience lovely. I think he reads minds and has the ears of a hawk, because if a fork dropped or someone needed something he was right there to help. Incredible! We were not an easy group and can't thank Ladda House enough for making our dinner over the top amazing. We will be back and will be telling everyone to go when they're craving Thai food.

This place is fantastic! We live nearby and I've been working through the menu, and have yet to find a dish that isn't excellent. My favorite is the Tom Yum soup but it's a close call. If you are a master of self control or can share a main to save room, the desserts are also divine. Try the sticky rice with mango Staff are friendly and helpful. You can choose the spice level on most dishes which helps for those of us with less tolerance. All in all delightful experience every time, I intend to keep going as long as they're around :)

Our new favorite Thai spot in Portland! The food is amazing and they are super friendly and excellent with all allergies...we have gluten free and vegan in our house. I also like that they have many spice levels to allow you to get the dish exactly how you want it. I went with Mild++ and it was perfect amount and spice and could still enjoy the other flavors...get the Tom Yum soup! We did take out but the dinning room looked nice and if it wasn't soooo cold out they have nice heated patio with fire pits...it's our new Thai spot and should be yours too!

Crab Rangoon, chicken satay, and fried tofu were honestly the best I've ever had. Pad Thai was also very very good. Would highly recommend; great service and ambiance as well.

Just got takeout and everything was amazing. I got the pad see ew, wings, gyosa and crab puffs. Wings were to sue for!!! I got medium spice and that was perfect. Went a little hotter for the pad see ew and it was just the right amount. I recommend those spice levels if you like somewhat spicy stuff but don't want to be crying. This is definitely my new go-to thai spot. They even gave me extra sauce on the side per request Personally I'm not use to having success with late night Uber eats orders so I really appreciate the effort they made to make sure everything was delicious and fresh and fast too.

Must get items! Fresh wrap and khao soy with duck noodles! Amazingly fresh and delicious will be back!

Overall this is my favorite Thai spot in Portland. Everything I have ever had here has been amazing and this is my fifth time here in the past two months. I am literally writing this review as I wait for my food. And as I was writing that sentence my food was brought to me so here's a pic, you be the judge

Honestly the best Thai food. Me and my boyfriend found this gem after arriving from the airport (we are from Southern California). We have eaten a lot of Thai places but this one has taken the #1 spot. The service here is amazing as well. We got the drunken noodles and the chicken wings and both were delicious and true to spice level. Definitely will be coming back here to try their other dishes!!

The best thai place and the staff is so friendly. I got Karee Puff, Ladda Fried Rice and Basil Chicken. There were at least a dozen other things I wanted to try too. The portions are generous and the prices are fair.

We welcome Ladds to the neighborhood and have now enjoyed multiple meals! The panang curry is lovely as is the Tom kha soup. Chicken was lean and perfectly cooked. The spring rolls are lovely and refreshing and the chicken wings are YUM. Wishing you all the best, Ladda!

We visited Ladda this evening for the first time. There are dozens of Thai restaurants within a mile of this one, and this one is my family's new favorite. The food is amazing. Best Pad Thai I've had. My son loved the Yellow Curry and my husband absolutely loved the Garlic Lovers stir fry. The server was super friendly and the atmosphere is adorable. We will definitely be back!

Love love love this Thai! The food is fresh, lovely presentation, excellent prices, very extensive menu. The owner is a lovely with a huge smile and served with genuine happiness. A pleasure to have them in the neighborhood.

We were traveling. We were hungry. This place was close, but had few reviews. It was late, this place was open. Our options were dwindling as we continued to search. Then there were no choices left, so we went. We ordered to go, and ate in the car. Sometimes life has a way of making the best decisions when you can't make them for yourself. The Pad Thai was spicy and blew my head off of my shoulders all the way to space. NASA Had been advised. The red curry was great, the spicy coconut noodles were mystically enchanting, and the chicken satay was justification enough for poultry sacrifice. If I ever get lost in Portland again and it is late and I am hungry... There won't be any need for discussion. This is the place.

This is a hot spot for delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere in a very walkable neighborhood. The food is thoughtfully prepared, the service is excellent, and the presentation is beautiful. Highly recommend!
