Rose Ave Bakery Is Setting Up Shop in Woodley Park | Eater DC

"Arriving in time for Mother’s Day at Tyson’s Corner Center, the Swiss chocolatier—said to be the largest in Switzerland—will open its Tysons shop as the brand’s 40th U.S. store and is known for roughly 20 varieties of FrischSchoggi, large slabs of chocolate bark." - Adele Chapin

I visited around 1:30 p.m. yesterday Thursday. The chocolate here is expensive but really delicious. You can tell that this Swiss chocolate is luxurious and strong when you try it. Also, the taste of each ingredient goes well with chocolate, so it's really attractive. The only flaw is that it's expensive. The last visit was in April, and I felt bad when I bought more than $100 in 5 minutes because of grandmother who was very unkind and ferocious. But yesterday, thanks to the very kind staff, I was able to buy chocolate with great satisfaction. I hope I can meet her on my next visit. She was really kind.

We visited for the first time on Wednesday September 17th to purchase some chocolate. I purchased 3 different flavors of the loose chocolates (hazelnut, strawberry, and pumpkin spice) about 3/4 of a Hershey’s bar. The total was $25 and some cents. The chocolate is good, but no better than Godiva or Ghirardelli for such a steep price. Both of the employees provided excellent customer service and let us try everything we wanted. I asked if the chocolates would go on sale during the upcoming holiday season, but was informed they don’t! I enjoyed the chocolates, but the prices are way too much for my pockets.

Really good chocolate, the lady helped us try all the flavors that we wanted before purchasing, def worth the price chocolate is very smooth and light, our fav was the hazelnut chocolate

Stopped by this chocolate shop while shopping at Tyson. The lady was so nice and friendly. We got dubai chocolate and it was delicious. Here are some pictures of the spot.

Google
One of my favorite chocolate stores in Northern Virginia for sure! They've got an amazing selection of high quality chocolates (if you're willing to pay the expensive price of course). They will also allow you to sample the majority of the chocolates before purchasing them, which is extremely helpful. I was a HUGE fan of the Dubai chocolate when they had it, but unfortunately it didn't last very long!

Google
Wildly expensive, but that’s the point friends 🩷 I had 4 different truffles ($10 total) and by far, the best two were the dulce de leche and white chocolate. The presentation is excellent! Would make great Mother’s/Father’s Day gifts, and/or Valentine’s Day gifts.

I love the chocolate and I have been buying a lot. I gave 4stars as few of the staffs are not welcoming. They look at you like you don’t know if they are annoyed that you are taking your time to choose and just may be because you ask for samples - like 3-4 different ones. I have other experience of the staff taking time to market the product. It is a chocolate shop .. staff needs to be a bit sweet. Thank you

I was shocked and disappointed during my visit to Läderach Tysons. I saw a fly land on the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Bark and walk across it. I pointed it out to a staff member — they said nothing, offered no apology or explanation, and just quietly moved the chocolate to the other side of the table. This chocolate sells for nearly $40 per pound, yet it’s left uncovered and exposed to flies? That’s unsanitary and unacceptable. I’m now genuinely worried about food safety and potential food poisoning from something I once trusted as a premium product. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but this completely shook my confidence in their hygiene practices. Unless Läderach takes real steps to improve food safety and show accountability, I won’t be returning — and I’ll be warning others too. No one expects bug-laden chocolate at this price point.

Yelp
We visit this place every week to get chocolates because the quality is excellent. However, the staff often seem snobbish and judge people by race and appearance, only warming up a little once you say you're buying something. It's quite uncomfortable, but we still come for the chocolates. If the staff could treat all customers with warmth and respect, the overall experience would match the quality of their products.

Yelp
The place is super fancy and you can sample the bark before buying. Chocolates are super pricey here though but pretty tasty. The truffles are $2 each.

Yelp
I was tempted in after being given a sample of the best chocolate I've ever had in my entire life - a piece of hazelnut chocolate. Hazelnuts are whole & roasted to perfection, then covered in a glaze. The crunch level is insane & the quality of the chocolate itself is superb. VERY pricey though. I purchased 1/4 of a lb & it was $15. Definitely worth it for a special occasion & would make a wonderful gift.

Yelp
Laderach is a little on the pricier side but is a great choice for quality chocolate offerings. You may be able to sample prior to purchase if you are unsure about your selections. A pound of the different bark (sold in quarter pounds) tends to run upwards of 50 dollars, but it is a great gift or treat. They also sell truffles and different premade arrangements for convenience. I agree with other reviewers that customer service/friendliness can vary.

Yelp
The best! This chocolate is delicious, soooo much better than others, although pricey. Had some from a friend who came back from Europe and was about to order on line when I realized, to my amazement, it has a store front at Tyson's I. I rarely go to that mall so I never saw the store. The "bark" chocolates are amazing. I don't care for white chocolate, that was before I had Laderach's. The raspberry-blackberry with white chocolate was a wonderful balance. The sweetness of the white chocolate was counterbalanced with the raspberry-blackberries. I tried a double chocolate with nut individual piece that was also very, very good. Staff is pretty nice, like others have mentioned, but I believe some are more friendly than others. DEFINITELY will return after I finish the sampler bag. I wish they had a store not just at malls or at Union Station. I am so glad I found Laderach in our area-- I'm still shocked that they're here and so very glad!

Yelp
Delicious sheets of gourmet milk and dark chocolate and decadent truffles. I was lured in by the free sample of a chunky piece of milk chocolate with almonds sheet. I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate, but the chocolate was divine! Too bad they don't sell the samples and small pieces of the sheet, the minimum is 1/4 pound. I customized my box of truffles and selected 4 dark chocolate truffles from the display case (there's a 4 truffle minimum, sadly you can't just buy one!) On my way out, I nabbed another sample of that milk chocolate almond sheet. May go back and purchase it!

Yelp
The "sheets" of chocolate caught my eye in the window. I really was only going to check it out. Just checking it out. Seriously. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We tried so many different flavors and bought so many different flavors: hazelnut milk, caramel milk, florentine milk (gone before pictures), strawberry curd white, to name a few. Everything was delicious. We definitely bought more because we were able to try it first.

Yelp
It's the best chocolate store in NoVA aside from perhaps Artisan Confections. It's hard to get real Swiss chocolate thanks to new FDA regs and shipping through a 3rd party makes it even more prohibitive. Laderach solves those problems! The sheets are fantastic, the truffles are amazing, and the gift packs are impressive. Everything is laid out neatly and the service is quick. It's literally the only reason to come to Tysons 1 anymore so five stars easily.

Yelp
This is my favorite chocolate that I tasted first in Qatar Airways business class. Staff in the store is also very nice and helps you with the selection of your choice of chocolates plus free tastings too. My favorite chocolate is hazelnut crunch milk chocolate.

Yelp
The chocolate is smooth and has a wonderful texture. The chocolates they sell are not cheap, but they are worth the price. They will let you taste test the different chocolate barks they sell and sell them in 1/4lb increments.

Yelp
Excellent and quick service. Many options and arrangements. Carryout bag doubles as a gift bag. Perfect host gift for an upscale dinner party. The long, single-row boxes pair well with group whisky, wine, or tequila tastings.

Yelp
Was given a small sample of the hazel nut chocolate bark but noticed the Strawberry curd white chocolate and sampled it and let me tell you it was honestly the best tasting Strawberry yummy-ness I have ever tasted. I just had to order more. Trust me it's just that good it has real freeze dried Strawberries and some kind of other crunchness that made it just that more delicious.

Yelp
Everything is really good, yes it's expensive. Some of the helpers are really rude and clearly don't want to be there, some are really nice and energetic

Yelp
Oh my god. This place is so dangerous. The chocolate is insanely good. They have so many to choose from and are gracious enough to let you sample whichever chocolate you want. My top 3 favorites are the milk chocolate with caramelized macadamia nuts in it, the raspberry white chocolate and the milk chocolate with hazelnuts. It's pricey but so so worth it.

Yelp
Finding Golden/Blond Chocolate is kind of hard in stores, but I stopped by the store to see what they had to offer. The ladies in the store were friendly and offered me some samples. I decided to purchase a Blond Chocolate tablet and a white chocolate tablet, each table is about $7.50. The chocolate was delicious and if you haven't tried Blond Chocolate, you should definitely try it.

Yelp
I had to go to LensCrafters and my kids were begging for a treat. This chocolate store was next door. I had no intention of buying anything. The man behind the counter was so friendly. He gave us free samples and then a sample of something else that we asked for. We ended up buying chocolate because it tasted incredible. You will not regret going here. Usually service these days is not great but you also get amazing service along with amazing chocolate.

Yelp
Wow. I am not a huge chocolate fan, but wow these are the best chocolates I have ver had. They are pricey, but sooo sooo good. I will be back the next time I am at Tysons Corner Center.
