Bob's Hawaiian Style Restaurant - Review - Gardena - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Like the name implies, Bob’s is a diner that feels like it was shipped directly from the Islands and placed in Gardena. The walls are lined with leather booths and T-shirts from island high schools, and of course, everyone from the kahiko to the keiki are eating local favorites like Spam musubi and steaming bowls of saimin. The food here is uncomplicated and pretty close to what you’d get in-state, like the salty kalua pork (which is made without cabbage and thus, is on the crispier side) and the silky, butterfish-stuffed laulau, both of which come on the aptly named “Hungry Hawaiian” combo plate. If you want something sweet, the macadamia nut pancakes should also be a top priority - they’re thick, fluffy, and come smothered in a butter sauce so rich it just booked a first-class flight to Honolulu." - Kat Hong

Plenty of parking in the back, and our first time here since it has changed to Ladybug, and the inside looks the same. I ordered the pork/cod fish Lau Lau and hubby got Bob’s omelette + pancakes! Let me tell you - these portions are so generous and so huge! We didn’t even eat half of what we ordered. The food was good, but my fave was probably the pancakes. The Lau Lau was a bit dry, oh and they also gave me a side of lomi lomi salmon which was a bit too salty for me. In the end, we got our Hawaiian food fix and a bunch of leftovers that we demolished later on that day. Service was great and love the old HI vibes here. They’re moving soon to the old Loft location on Artesia, so find them there soon.

If you're looking for some seriously good Hawaiian food in Gardena, you HAVE to check out Ladybug Cafe. We've been going there for a while now, and it's become a family favorite. Honestly, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they've got something delicious for everyone. My 7-year-old son is a creature of habit, and he's absolutely obsessed with their breakfast - anytime of day! He's a big fan of the classic bacon, eggs, and pancake combo, and they always cook it just the way he likes it. It's a lifesaver when you have a picky eater! Me? I can't resist their two-item combo. The chicken teriyaki is so flavorful and tender, and the fried chicken is crispy and juicy - the perfect comfort food combo. Plus, the portions are really generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. Ladybug Cafe has a nice, relaxed atmosphere too. It's a great place to grab a quick bite or sit down for a leisurely meal with the family. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. If you're in the Gardena area and craving some delicious Hawaiian food, definitely give Ladybug Cafe a try - you won't be disappointed!

Place is so chill with a laid back vibe. Erica our server gave exceptional customer service. I dont know why this place aint busy as heck! The food is bomb... the braised short ribs is fall off the bone, and my favorite was the lady bug fried chicken. So tender and crunchy!!

Google
It was our first time at the Ladybug Cafe and it was good! We met family there and enjoyed the food and company. We had a variety of dishes...the Lau Lau, sweet and sour ribs, and teriyaki salmon. The portions were huge and we all had to have to-go boxes. Our service was great! Our waiter, Jason, was so nice and friendly and came over often to check on us.

Google
On Saturday, we were a group of 16 and the restaurant was able to seat us all in two tables side by side. A long table with a round 4 person table at one end. The staff was VERY helpful in doing this for us. We had a 10 am reservation which I think made it much easier for them to serve our group. The noise level was medium high but not too high. The food was FANTASTIC. I had the Pork and Butterfish Lau Lau. SO TASTY!! Tender tasty pork, tender tasty fish wrapped in edible taro leaf. Taro leaf here at Ladybug has a wonderful a nutty earthy taste that's similar to artichoke. Very flavorful. Other restaurants serve lau lau wrapped in taro leaves but they do not taste as good as here! The filling is moist with a perfect balance of pork, fish, smoke, salt flavors. It comes with lomi salmon which is very salty but that's what it's made of, salt cured salmon. I take mine home add lots of fresh chopped herbs like mint leaves or cilantro, which balances the salt and makes it into an irresistibly great dish! Ladybug Fried Chicken, Misoyaki Butterfish, Kalbi Short Ribs, were all excellent. ALL portions are HUGH. Tara butterfish misoyaki is MUST ORDER. Thank you Ladybug Café. Everything so ono-licious!

Google
I got a chicken and kalbi combo with half roll I lived the kalbi and the chicken was cokoked well and moist. The California roll was good and decent size. The loco moco was good the beef pattie is more meatloaf like then beef patties but still good. The fountain drinks were good and not tasting like only carbonated water. The little salad was fresh and i liked the dressing in it. The guy who helped me was very kind and sweet. He also explained everything well.

Google
Love this place. My go to dish is the Lau Lau (pork & Black Cod)! Can't go wrong with anything here, love the Pork Karsu Curry Rice as well. Great service and quality food.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing service. Small/medium mom/pop feel place but don't let that fool you, the food is amazing. I got the butterfish and it was amazing. It's sweet and savory and goes well with the rice. The chicken combos are also amazing. For $18 it is HUGE portions with enough food for 2 meals. The fried chicken is also light and airy and not greasy. Recommend to try and they also have take out option. They have a good size parking lot in the back so parking shouldn't be a problem. I used amazing too much in the review but that's how it's accurately described :)

Yelp
Ladybug Cafe is a hidden gem in Torrance with decor that looks like it has been frozen in time since the 80s. The mom and pop shop has booth seating and ability to move around tables for large parties. There was long table with 8 people in the restaurant - I'd recommend making a reservation for large groups. There's small parking lot in the back of the restaurant. For the food: The combo is the best way to try different entrees. Any item with flower icon could be made into a combo - I chose Tara "butterfish" Misoyaki and Ahi Tuna Poke. The butterfish is flaky and tender. The poke is a bit too salty for me, but the fish quality is good. Overall, excellent friendly service and delicious food.

Yelp
Haven't been to Ladybug for over 10 or so years. I think at that time they were just starting out and they were at a different location in the same local area (my memory is kinda fuzzy). My parents suggested we go there so off we went. Their current location is off Western Ave about a block or two south of Redondo Beach Blvd...if you blink, you may miss it! For those familiar with the area, it's in the former Sizzler location. Ample parking in their back lot. From the outside, it may not seem "busy" or even open but once we opened the door and went in, it was surely the opposite...apparently IYKYK! Plenty of faithful customers enjoying their meals and some even reconnecting with old friends who they haven't seem in years. Menu is varied and I had a couple top choices. For the record, they have Western-style breakfast, Japanese and Hawaiian stuff too. Sadly, the number of legit Hawaiian places in the South Bay have dwindled over the years so I decided to go with the lau lau plate (broiled mackerel was my next choice) since it has been some time since the last time I had Hawaiian food. My plate was a very generous serving of two scoops rice, a sizeable lau lau (pork AND fish!), lomi salmon, a scoop of mac salad and some salad greens with a CCS-esque dressing. I gotta say that I was very happy with my choice. This was the best lau lau I've had in a while (on the mainland) and the lomi salmon (though a tad too salty for me) was on point. Overall, the flavors and presentation were legit and on-point. If they offered poi, I'd be here every weekend (poi is kinda hard to get now tho so I understand) Needless to say, I finished everything:) Service is pretty decent (we had three different young staff who tended to our table) but they could work on anticipating customer needs just a bit more. Kudos to them tho as they were holding down the full dining room on this very busy weekend morning! As we were eating, I mentioned to my dad that when I went to Ladybug years ago, their menu was a little bit different and I don't remember them offering Hawaiian items. He said that when they moved in this location, they agreed to keep certain items from the former establishment, Bob's Hawaiian Foods...which was another legit Hawaiian restaurant. This was a good choice because you kept the former Bob's customers as well as welcoming new ones. A very solid and unassuming place that can get quite busy on weekends. Can get loud due to people socializing and the like. Definitely a hidden gem in this part of Gardena. Charming, excellent value, lots of character and a very welcoming and comforting place for many!

Yelp
Every meal is delicious, their quality and consistency are outstanding! There are so many Ono dishes to enjoy and a lot of items you can make your own combo plate. I wish they had a "steam table" to order from, but other than that, it's all good. The servers are very polite and friendly, you do feel at home when you're here. The ambience is just like a coffee shop in Hawaii, you'll enjoy your meal in a relaxed easy paced atmosphere.

Yelp
My second time back in less than a week. We ate in and ordered to go. That's how good our food was. We will be back. The flavor is so fresh and crisp. Did I mention the service is A one. Everyone on the floor is attentive. No table assignments, just everyone be helpful it seems.

Yelp
Wow I am so impressed! The food here is soo tasty. I ordered the loco moco bowl and it was probably the best I've had in the South Bay. My friend ordered the fried chicken plate. The batter on the fried chicken was super light and crispy. It was also seasoned perfectly. It came with rice, green salad and mac salad. It was really delicious. The salad came with a sesame oil dressing and the mac salad was pretty light and had a good flavor. The service is awesome and super friendly. Ambiance is pretty laid back/casual and there are plenty of tables and booth seating. The menu is pretty extensive and the portions are quite large. Will definitely come back when I'm craving authentic Hawaiian food!

Yelp
Wow 10/10! This hole-in-the-wall is a must visit. The outside is very unassuming and growing up in the area, I never really knew about this place but a friend recommended it and we gave it a try. We went in on a Sunday at noon and we were seated right away. We ordered the butterfish misoyaki plate and the loco moco plate and both did not disappoint. The butterfish was so buttery and cooked to perfection. The loco moco patties were also perfectly seasoned and peppered. We can't wait to try everything else on the menu! Definitely will be including this spot in the rotation.

Yelp
Another couple of days of degen poker at Hustler Casino, another solid food discovery in Gardena, CA. I'm born and raised in Hawaii so it pains me to say, the food here is better than most plate lunch spots in Hawaii. It is not that they have elevated rather maintained the flavors that are fast disappearing in Hawaii's plate lunch simply because it takes too long to do it right. Outstanding beef stew cooked for hours with tender chunks of beef surrounded in a thick tomato broth laden with melting potatoes, carrots, celery and onion. An equally meltingly thick, delish curry. Potato mac salad, not with chunks of potato but rather crushed and mixed in. Loaded fried rice cooked with bacon fat and the right amount of basic soy sauce. No complaints on the well cooked crispy chicken katsu or the well marinated chicken teriyaki and kalbi. All plates come with rice, potato mac and being Cali, a green salad. Much smaller portions and much more expensive than Hawaii. You won't find me complaining that Mainland buds thought they'd do me a favor and take me to eat Hawaii food 2k miles from home.

Yelp
I order takeout from here sometimes and have also dined in. Recently, my boyfriend and I ordered takeout. I got a combo plate with the Lady Bug Fried Chicken and Kalbi Short Ribs. All plates come with rice, salad, and mac salad. The LB Fried Chicken is a must try. The mac salad is pretty good. The salad with the dressing is great. Usually when you order to go for a place, they might skimp you on quantity, but this place was not shy with their quantity. My plate was so heavy and filled, it was hard to get to the bottom of it for the rice. IG: @lovingyourtaste

Yelp
I had ladybug for a takeout. Let me just say that 1st impressions are everything. The food was just amazing. The lovely person who answered the phone made some nice suggestions. I wish I caught her name because she's just an angel. I can't wait to go to ladybug and dine in. When food is made with love you can just taste the quality. This local Hawaiian place is nowhere else than in the best food city of Gardena!! Thank you so much for a pleasant takeout. But next time I have to come and dine in!

Yelp
For those seeking some Hawaiian home goodness this should be one of your spots. It's a "don't judge a book by its cover" sort of mom and pop place. Absolutely a hidden gem! Parking in the back is a quick turn up the driveway which can easily be missed. Walking in completely takes you back to Hawaii. The spirit of aloha vibes are going strong and then you try the food and it's blissful. As a local would say, "broke da mout" (delicious food) Plunging in, balancing a chopsticks full, in the mouth and then the head nod while all those flavors mix on your palate. Simply heaven. The menu has all of the craveable favorites. We tried bbq short ribs, saimin, chicken katsu, kalua pork, lau lau, and of course spam musubi. Everyone enjoyed their meals as a moment of silence fell over our table. Wonderful hometown service, such sweethearts! They've really captured a ray of sunshine from Hawaii. We were needing some comfort and found solace here. These dishes may just bring out the ratatouille memories for you as it did for me. Will definitely return for more.

Yelp
Everyone enjoyed everything we ordered. I think the plates are a popular item it comes with your choice of protein, rice, Mac salad, and fresh salad, it's a good overall dish. Chashu was tender. The poke salad was my favorite, comes with ginger and wasabi and the tuna was good. I saw a couple eating shaved ice but didn't notice it on the menu and not many pictures of it on Yelp maybe next time I'll try it out. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Lovely and quaint spot for a delicious, authentic Hawaiian meal. We ordered the egg rolls, California rolls, spam masubi, chicken teriyaki plate, Kalbi & salmon plate, and braised short ribs plate. All plates came with a side salad and potato-Mac salad. Every dish left us full and satisfied. Service was friendly and helpful - service with a smile. Boys and I voted this place on our go to spot for Hawaiian food, so we will be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good, service was good and the prices were ok....its far for me but if I was nearby I'd return for a new item and bite

Yelp
Just ate at this scrumptious place! I am so thankful to Yelp because I never would have thought of going there! The location has a nice size parking lot in the back! Anyway the food was so delicious! We ordered the spring rolls and the Ladybug Fried chicken was delicious! I can't wait to try another dish next time I visit Southern California!

Yelp
We loved it here so much we absolutely had to get my sister's birthday celebration catered from them! The quality of ingredients, the portion sizes, the delicious dishes and wonderful communication and service from Ladybug Cafe will get us coming back forever!!! Thank you to the amazing Pablo and Janet! Everyone enjoyed every dish!!! (I only got 1 picture but we also got Chicken salad, Edamade, chicken wings, Spare ribs, chicken teriyaki, Gyoza and of course white rice and Japanese rice made right!!)

RC Y.

Yelp
Always a reliably good meal here. First organized group meal for 12 friends. Preordered entrees which streamlined the meal and Ladybug came through with flying colors. Plates arrived as group was getting seated. Excellent food and plating. Carlos was an attentive and thoughtful server. Butterfish/poke combo very good. Will do this again!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times. It was a recommendation from friends whose son works here. I usually get the Hawaiin fried chicken, but this time, I ordered a chicken teriyaki and beef kalbi plate. The food is always consistent and delicious. A little bit of that island style, yeah. The plates come with rice, mac salad, and crispy iceberg salad with their island dressing. The servers are always friendly and have the Aloha spirt. Thank you for the kinds *Ono grinds as always.
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
We were craving Hawaiian foods so we decided to give this place a try! Loved the interior design, it gave that nice Hawaiiany vibe! We Ordered the fried chicken plate and the cold saimen. They were both really good! Chicken was crispy and juicy and had good flavor! The saimen noodles were I think cooked a bit too much because they were a bit soggy. Staff were friendly. Can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a solid Japanese Asian Hawaiian restaurant. At first, I thought it was closed because I parked on the street and approached what I thought was the front door and the "Open" neon sign was not on and the door was locked... so I went into their parking lot and found the front door was in the back parking lot and it was indeed open. The Mac Salad that comes with the entree is excellent. The Green Salad that comes with the entree is good, and they use a similar dressing to what Rascal's uses for their Chicken Salad, which is a zesty oil based tasty dressing. The fried chicken seemed good in the photos but was just "okay" The butterfish was very good and my friend had the kalbi short rib beef and said it was good (also agreeing about the friend chicken too) We both want to and will come back to try other entrees here The service had the Aloha / Mahalo spirit and it's a nice diner / cafe casual styled restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Very happy to try a new place like Ladybug. Very interesting menu with items I like such as Saba shio, Portuguese sausage with eggs and rice, and Hawaiian French toast but you will see in the pictures that I chose curry pork tonkatsu with macaroni, rice, and red accent. So crispy. My friends chose other items that they felt was abundant and appealing. The ambiance was no rush, no stress Hawaiian vibe. Everyone was so nice. Nolan was our server who made sure that we got pictures. Everyone who arrived at 10:00 were there at 12:30 with no signs of leaving. It was like a lazy Saturday morning Used to be Bob's back in the day.

Yelp
I really like Ladybug Cafe and so do my family and friends. The food and service is fantastic. However, after dinner, we saved room for shave ice, but we were disappointed. We had two different orders and both were really tart. We mentioned it to our waitress, but she said that's why ice cream and condensed milk are added, to offset the tartness. We've had shave ice there before and it's never been tart. We'll still go back, however, because we like everything else.
google avatar

Addison P.

Yelp
Really good quality food. Everything from katsu to California rolls. Top quality. Come support this local business. It is so good
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
I love their kalua pork from here! They also give pretty big portion sizes in person compared to when ordering to go. I'd also recommend their fried chicken, but id skip on the kalbi. The meat slices are super thin & not worth it for the price point. Overall, Ladybug is great! The workers are all friendly & personable.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Always a treat coming here after church. New faces on staff due to kids going back to school. Despite the new faces; service was excellent. Wondering if we have a new chef due to definitely noticed that portions were noticeably smaller.

Yelp
First impression: Walked in a little over an hour before closing so there was only one party in the dining area. Greeted right away with a warm welcome. That was nice. Inside decor was nice and simple island themed. Bright but not too bright. Felt home-ey compared to when it was Bob's island food (I think that's what it was called, it's been years). Server was very nice didn't rush us and offered to take our drink order. Restroom was clean and stocked up. So far so good... Food: I ordered the Loco moco plate ($21) and husband ordered the Kalbi Short ribs ($20 ish) everything looked great I took a pic but for some reason it disappeared when I came back to continue my review. Sorry. No complaints it was all yummy. Their mac salad had potatoes in it! First time I ever had this way and now I'd like to only have it this way. The patties in my loco moco were very tasty and flattened out so they were huge. Definitely coming back and next time I'll take a picture and make sure to save it first.

Yelp
Came here for lunch yesterday and loved it. Cute open restaurant with friendly attentive service and great music playing in background. I had the chicken katsu curry which was yummy Uncle had his usual butter fish that he loves Mom had laulau and said it was good but she prefers fatty parts Dad had the mixed teriyaki plate and loved it They got a side of something... can't remember. But I will definitely be back if in the area again.

Ty K.

Yelp
Service was island nice and super attentive for our early lunch on a Saturday. I got the lau lau plate. It was one of the better lau lau combos I've had in a long time. Plenty of lomi lomi and Mac salad and the lau lau was great. Wife got the saba, my dad the curry and katsu plate. Everything came to the table at once, hot and tasty. Would be a solid 5 stars, but my wife's rice was smashed into a single solid mass that did not want to behave like rice.

Geun G.

Yelp
It seems to be a popular spot among local Japanese residents, which says a lot about the authenticity! The food was reasonably priced, and the karaage (Fried Chicken combo) was incredibly delicious. My husband tried the fried rice burrito, and it was equally impressive. The desire to come back is strong! With friendly service and fantastic dishes, I highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Food 5/5 Service 5/5 I'd like to highlight the portions here. The food is abundant and very reasonably priced. Everything we tried here was delicious and they were able to easily accommodate our large party. My favorites were the fried chicken, tofu as well as the salad that comes with everything.
google avatar

Diana M.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here. O e of the 3 youngsters I was taking out to lunch wanted to eat here. We ordered 3 orders of Hawaiian French toast and one order of beef stew. The Hawaiian French toast was good because the 3 youngsters ate all of their food. The beef stew was okay. The rice was so mushy I couldn't eat it with the beef stew. The actual stew was good, nothing spectacular. It comes with a potato salad and green salad which I did not eat. So I cannot comment on the side salads. Honestly, I would've rather had more stew and rice that wasn't mushy. The service was good. The dining area was clean. I probably won't come back unless the youngsters want to eat there.

Yelp
I normally eat Hawaiian fried chicken from Auntie's Cafe in Gardena, but they close early on some days. When I wanted it, they were closed. So I was on the hunt for a Plan B. I had seen this place but never been so I gave it a shot. I ordered the Ladybug fried chicken plate for myself, and I got the chicken teriyaki and salmon plate for my hubby. I got double potato salad for both of us instead of the green salad. I love Hawaiian potato salad! This one didn't disappoint, but the Ladybug chicken was meh. I was expecting the slightly sweet taste of Hawaiian chicken, but there was none. In fact, there wasn't much taste at all. I had to add a sauce to make it more interesting. Fortunately, the Chick-fil-A Polynesian sauce worked great with it. The staff was really nice, and the restaurant was nothing fancy but very clean. I will definitely give them another shot but will order something else. But it's a no for the fried chicken.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
The booths are hard wood and not comfortable at all Our server was Isaac and Darius and they were very nice young men. The ice tea is horrible. Tastes like brown pool water which is surprising since most Hawaiian food establishments have excellent tea. We ordered Chinese chicken salad, gyoza, poke and char siu. Ok well the Gyoza and the chicken salad were good, the salad I would say is slightly better than Rascals. The chicken is shredded and you get more cucumbers The Poke is just ok, the Mac salad has no flavor and char siu I couldn't eat. Not what I'm used to with crispy bbg edges more like sliced pork that's dry/ fat and not flavorful. They were nice enough to take the char siu off the bill I will say the portions are good. Not saying I would never come back, they have a large selection and everyone here is very nice!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stumbled across this spot while driving home one day and I have to say, we absolutely love it. The ambiance is lovely, the staff are awesome and super friendly, and the food is amazing. Going here for our first time , we felt like we were welcomed as regulars. We've been here I think twice since then and will definitely be returning again soon and recommend it to others whenever we get the chance. Great spot to check out for sure.

Yelp
First time here today and it is definitely a hidden gem. Food is fresh, tasty and the staff is very friendly. Inside it looks like it needs a remodel but that's the least of my worries we will definitely be back. The crowd was mostly elderly but they were having a blast
google avatar

Yelp
No Hawaiian plate on the menu, but that's OK. Today I learned of their ladybug burrito. The ladybug burrito is a combination of Hispanic and Asian taste and preparation pretty neat if I should say so myself Everything else remains the same there especially their up and being terrific service. Their service and friendliness makes everything seem so right. If you're in the area and from Hawaii and you're looking for some form of comfort food, this is the place to go. Lots of parking in the back there on the east side of Western Avenue. If you are from Hawaii, you will have a nice time browsing and looking through their Momentos are relating to Hawaii. Fun fact, the original owner of this place, Bob, is from the big island of Hawaii, I think. I could be wrong on the island, but certainly he is, was from Hawaii.
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
Recently went here with my girlfriend. Right off the bat, it reminds me of Honolulu, HI. Cozy, accommodating service, excellent ingredients and quality of food. I got the saimin (but didn't realize that I could've gotten spam saimin with it, DARN! Maybe next time I'm in Gardena). Gf got the butterfish with chicken teriyaki. Tuna roll was excellent as well. 10/10; both orders were so perfect. If I lived nearby, this would be a regular spot for me. Get this if you want some good Hawaiian food.
google avatar

Thomas K.

Yelp
Locals favorite. A good mix of Hawaiian style foods thats pretty good. The location is big enough to accommodate moderate size groups. I usually get the Lady Bug combo or the chicken katsu with curry.

Yelp
Food is not good. Service is incredibly slow. Most of the staff were nice. Price does not match quality. Price is too expensive for the quality of the food and the service. Food: - Luke warm miso soup that was way too salty. - California and spicy tuna rolls were ok... - Kalua pork was unflavorful, super dry, and lacking cabbage (which we asked for). - Spam Musubi cost $3.50 for 1. And it was way too salty. Service: - Super slow. - Took 45 minutes to get our food. - Waiters & Waitresses barely came by to refill our drinks. Very unimpressed with the food here. I was hoping it'd be the same or similar quality and taste as Bob's Hawaiian Restaurant (what it was before Ladybug). At least, the quantity of food was good.

Yelp
I had seen this restaurant on social media several times so while I was in Gardena I decided to go check them out I was surprised to find out thatLadybug is the old Sizzler building across the street from Clearview Convalescent. The food was good I would go back the staff is great I recommend this place to everyone

Yelp
I have not been to Ladybug Cafe for several years and it was my first time coming to the new location that they moved into. I came on a Wednesday night for dinner. It wasn't crowded, but they had a steady flow of diners and also takeout orders while I was there. The staff was very friendly and constantly came by to check in on us and refill our waters. // FOOD // Combos: Choice of 2 items: Chicken teriyaki, LB fried chicken, chicken katsu. I went with the LB fried chicken and chicken katsu. The combo comes with rice, potato-mac, and salad. The portion was large enough for me to be very full but no leftovers after. The katsu was fried to a crispy perfection! The LB fried chicken was good and tender - I added on some sriracha and teriyaki sauce for a little more flavor. Tara "butterfish" misoyaki: Buttery, flaky fish that is slightly sweet and salty from the misoyaki glaze. It goes well with the rice and potato-mac. Overall, I was glad to try out the new location and I enjoyed the food here. Our waitress said the sweet and sour spare ribs are the most popular item which was interesting to hear, but I will have to try it out the next time I come here.

Yelp
Very polite service and huge servings of tasty food. The salmon was cooked perfectly and with just enough salt. Go check them out.

Yelp
Great hometown vibes. Their Hawaiian food always hits the spot and their service comes with plenty of aloha. If your love Hawaiian food and culture you have to check this place out.

Yelp
I previously dined at this establishment at the prior location. Pros: Good size parking lot and ample seating. Cons: Conflicting signage (Bob's and Ladybug), deferred parking lot maintenance, and chicken curry with ~ 10% chicken (versus at least 30%). Service was mixed. I plan to return and try a more popular dish.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while. Coming back was like going home again. We ordered the beef stew, salmon belly and ahi tuna poke. The food was delicious. The service was good and parking on the premises. Lots of seating now that they removed the salad bar.

Yelp
One of my neighborhood go tos. The food is good, good value and unpretentious. Also love supporting a local business.

Yelp
The service here is amazing. Joyous, efficient and my server checked on me at least six times. The menu was enticing me to the two item chicken combo. I was going to get the LB Fried Chicken and Chicken Katsu with a side of Curry Sauce but they were out of the Chicken Katsu that day. LB Fried Chicken Plate - The servings here are large, you get a ton of food. The plate comes with green salad with sesame oil and vinegar dressing, white rice and a scoop of potato mac salad. The fried chicken were in boneless bite sized pieces, fried golden and with a light breading, not too heavy, which was great. The chicken does have a very mild sweetness but I also asked for a side of teriyaki. I would order LB Fried Chicken again. Spam Musubi - The completely wrap it with seaweed paper (I like the full wrap) and cut it in half. The spam had a perfect balance of sweet and salty. Their spam musubi is more on the rice heavy side. I got there about 5:45 pm on a Sunday and it was nearly empty for dine in. They close at 7:00 pm on Sundays. Then at 6:15 pm everyone started rolling in to get dinner before they closed. It can get busy in a hurry here. They also do a lot ton of takeout orders. If you're hungry and want some good Hawaiian comfort food, hit up Ladybug!
