Hidden underground spot near E 48th Amazing drinks. Romeo and Amina is a great bartender with great personalities . We were greeted by the host, she is lovely. Food is delicious farm to table style. I would say delicious clean/ healthy food. My personal favorites is the chicken Thigh with wild rice and the steak, burger and cauliflower from the sides. Service was nice casual and friendly. Oh the Decor is is just beautiful and spacious. Great HH Deal

Beautiful setting but disrespectful hostess. Ordered take out and both hostess and server were unwelcoming and unprofessional, making me feel uncomfortable throughout. Waited over 40 min after scheduled pick up time and the frustrated servers insinuated that I should be “grateful for receiving the food, considering the price I was paying”. This remark was not only disrespectful but also highlighted a lack of appreciation for the customers. It is disheartening to encounter such dismissive and condescending behavior from the staff. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy regardless of the amount I am spending. Such comments are completely unacceptable and contributed to my overall negative experience at Lafolia. I strongly urge management to address this issue promptly and ensure that all staff members are trained to provide professional and respectful service to their customers. No customer should ever be made to feel unworthy or unappreciated based on their spending capacity.

The room is gorgeous - with comfortable furnishing and calm lighting. From the first contact with the Greeter to the Wait staff and the bar tenders you feel welcome. I was with a group of musicians - The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It is a little oasis of nice, in the middle of midtown. Thank you Tiffany and Mirra!

This is a hidden gem in Midtown East. Really great vibes and interior design. The food and cocktails are top quality to say the least. Got taken care of at the bar by true professionals Amina and Roman.

Cool space! But the food wasn’t extra ordinary and was over priced. Interesting concept and the staff were super friendly!

Stellar experience dining at Lafolia. Each dish is well conceptualized and executed — I dreamt about their lentil soup after the fact, that’s how great it was. The salt and vinegar potatoes also made for a perfect snack. They had a versatile menu for all dietary restrictions. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! The bar staff are all fantastic, friendly, creative, and 100 percent know what they are doing and strive to and succeed in providing exceptional service. The cocktails are very creative and the wine selection is lovely. Their happy hour deals are spectacular, but prices are reasonable even outside of happy hour. Stop everything you are doing, and pay Lafolia a visit.

First, let me say the food was quite good. And priced well. The service, however, was horrendous. Valentines day (and really not that busy for Valentines day, a number of empty tables all night), 6:45pm reservation. At 7:05, since no one had come to our table yet, I went up to the hostess to request water (which she kindly brought). Our waiter first came to our table at 7:30 and offered to get us drinks, but we deliberately ordered everything at that point. I received my drink around 7:45, and by 8:05 had finished it when the waiter came back to our table for the second (and last, prior to us begging for the check) time and he took another drink order from me which never came. Our entrees (which were really good, especially for the price) arrived at 8:30pm, an hour and 45 minutes after the start of our reservation. After asking the hostess for the check around 9, our waiter finally brought it (and a different waitress took our card eventually and processed it, kindly). I've worked in restaurants for years before as a busser and a waiter. I get on holidays it can be busy, and kitchens can get backed up. I have a lot of appreciation for the kitchen keeping the quality up on the food, despite the backlog. What I don't understand is a waiter coming to a table twice in over two hours, and not realizing we never received a drink order or checking how the food was (fortunately the food was good). It wasn't just us, all the tables around us (who had the same waiter) were equally confused at the whole scenario. One table had to leave prior to receiving their entrees, which I think was due to having a show to see, but it wasn't the waiter that assisted them. It was just confusing. I liked the food. And even with the tremendous delay, I think we would have gone back again, because we understand things can be hard to manage time-wise on holidays, especially for a new restaurant. But with service so bad, and a billion other options in Manhattan, I think unfortunately we will have to pass. Edit (Feb 21): Revising based on a reach-out from the restaurant. They personally apologized and invited us back. I find this very meaningful personally, and will revise as appropriate the rating and review following our return when we are able.

A very beautifully decorated restaurant, the live plants and the green furniture is very relaxing. The food is very good, and I’m sure as time goes on it will get even better. The bean hummus was good, but needed more chips for scooping. High marks for the spicy chicken, lentil soup, and autumn falafel. The fish tostada Was recommended by the waiter and it was good but not great. The tables around the center plant island are very cozy, but the booths are private and spacious.
