L'Afrodisiac

I was really looking forward to trying this African restaurant in Paris, but my experience was extremely disappointing. I’m not French, so I relied on the staff to explain the menu. Instead of explaining anything, they simply assured me that the dish I was ordering was meat chops. When the plate arrived, it was clearly not what they said it was. The appearance was completely different from any kind of meat chops, more like meatpies . When I asked about it, there was no proper explanation—just the same repeated assurance that it was “meat,” which felt dismissive and unhelpful. Also asked for a replaced and it couldn’t be given. It’s frustrating to be misled, especially when you’re trying to enjoy a new cuisine in a new city. The lack of honesty and communication ruined the entire experience for me. I left disappointed and still unsure of what I was actually served. Definitely would not recommend.

Really good food, not sure about the low rating, the cocktails are really nice and the fish was pretty amazing. Lovely staff, the only thing is that I had something that I was allergic to in my dessert, so extra attention should be paid to détails like that, otherwise I had a good time here.

Good restaurant with a service highly oriented on the well-being of the customer. I did like my first experience over there and was not disappointed by either the service or the food, the place is also cozy. I still believe they can do some adjustments on the waiting time hence why not 5 stars. I would recommend to you the restaurant if you are definitely thinking about eating an African food, but you know what they say good things come with patience.

Good food. Lovely service, didn't wait long for drinks and food. One polite waiter and a waitress that acted very busy and was borderline haughty. Interior is nice, colourful and well designed. Too many tables and chairs upstairs,it makes it too tight to move around. Overall a great place to be.

The food was really an aphrodisiac it was splendid. The decor was amazing.

I must say, I was blown away. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was immaculate. The lighting was just right, the décor was modern and stylish, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Upon being seated, we were greeted by our server who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us some great recommendations and ensured that all of our needs were met throughout the evening. But let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, the food! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients were clearly fresh and of high quality. I particularly loved the steak, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was simply impeccable. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or just a casual night out with friends, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. And I have no doubt that you'll agree with me that they deserve a 5-star rating.

Terrible experience at this place...and the number on the website doesn't even work. From when we walked in, we didn't even feel welcome, we felt like burdens. We made a reservation which clearly didn't even matter as they just shoved us on a table in the corner, which was literally freezing as it was next to the window. When we asked to move upstairs, they said no because they hadn't cleaned upstairs. She offered us the table next to us, which we declined as even the ladies on the table next to us were complaining about the cold. On top of that, the women that had finished eating from when we walked in didn't have their plates cleared long after they left and they were even still there when we left (about 2 hours later). In fact, every empty table had food on it. Disgusting! They took way too long to take our order, didn't even offer us water or ask for allergies. The lady was pretending she didn't understand my friend's French which was agitating her on top of the cold and the long wait time. Our food came out in waves which was a stark contrast to how it is in London, where we are from, because if a group orders food, it all comes together and if it doesn't you are at least informed. She said she would come back for our drinks order, and didn't even bother. We asked for sauce tomate with our fish but when the food came there was no sauce tomate in sight. When we asked the server, she then said there is no more sauce tomate but AGAIN, failed to inform us of that or ask if it was okay to replace. The prawns tasted stale, the tilapia was alright but the portion sizes of the sides like fufu and atiéké are ridiculous. Clearly understaffed as there were 2 servers between the whole restaurant, the dirty plates were right next to where the kitchen serves food from and were piling up (probably why they took so long to clear things up) and after all of that, they had the cheek to tell us the service charge is not removable. Absolute disgrace of a place, I will not be visiting again. Could find other restaurants for a fraction of the price with service that is miles better.
