WONDERFUL quintessential French experience. My husband and I enjoyed the 5 course menu. We also had an aperitif and bottle of white wine. We thought the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of food and lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is cozy and romantic in the front. It is larger and brighter in the back. Service felt a bit rushed at first but leveled out through the courses. Husband said foie gras was the best he's had in France! I thought the fish (John Dory) was the best bite of the night. Both desserts were excellent-- sweet but not too sweet. Although the restaurant has an upscale feeling, you can wear nice jeans and sneakers (at least during the week when we were there). Staff was friendly too, despite my husband and I not speaking much French. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent lunch at L"Agape on our final day in Avignon. Everything was first-rate - the food, service, wine list, and the atmosphere. They were very accommodating regarding my wife's allergies to beef and beef dairy. Highly recommend.

Google
Delicious food right in historic Avignon. There are 3 prix fixe menus or you can go a la carte. The fish melted in my mouth. Don’t miss it! The service was also amazing, very kind staff.

I really can’t recommend this restaurant. The food looked fine, but the portions were too small and not what we expected. We had a reservation for seven, but only five of us arrived, and before we even sat down the chef de service — she was quite mean — scolded us instead of greeting us. They wouldn’t allow any change of dessert. To make matters worse, they resold the two seats from our cancelled friends — twice — so they even profited from the situation while treating us poorly. Besides, the lighting in the back is as harsh as in an operating room. At least our waiter was very friendly, but everything else made the visit disappointing.

Made reservations for a Thursday night. Food was very good! Each dish was made very well and the flavors all complemented each other. The owners serve you and prepare the food and you can tell they take great pride in the prep and their patrons. Highly recommend a stop here. For 100 euros, the seven course menu plus wine is a great value in Avignon. The one thing to take L’Agape up another notch is to improve the by the glass and bottle selections. There is only one white, rose, red, and sparkling to choose from by the glass. The by the bottle list is above average.

Google
Really nice & cosy French bistro in Avignon. Easy relaxed dining & prompt service with locally made fresh French food. That’s how I would like to summarise the experience. We had the veal carpaccio to start followed by the duck as mains. Every dish was really well cooked & delicious especially the duck. It’s got a nice wine list too. Pricing is reasonable as well. Verdict 5/5 Meal for 2 is easily 100€ without drinks For more foodie pics & tips please check out @s50ush thanks !

Google
Great location with tasty food. The starters and mains were fresh and light, the cheese platter was also good. However the deserts were a little underwhelming for the price and location. Service was fast and professional. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Incredible food!! Top quality, sophisticated, and delicious flavour. We just had 5 courses, 60 euros each, and I think it is a bargain for the quality of every single course😋 Top 10 for all 😍❤️💙🤍❤️🫶

Yelp
Simple ingredients prepared exquisitely. L'Agape deserves it's Michelin Guide mention. I enjoyed the 3 course fixed meal priced at 39 Euros. L'Agape offered 2 choices each for Appetizers, Mains and Dessert. Each dish was exquisitely prepared. I had a Mackerel appetizer, a Hake main and Meringue dessert. The Cheese course (also a Dessert choice) was worth the additional 8 Euros. The locally produced red wine we enjoyed was on par with $100 USD bottles - we were charged 37 Euros. Great experience overall. Well worth the 55 Euro cost per person for the meal.

Yelp
Excellent set menu! Every dish was very tasty and balanced with depth of flavor. Restaurant is quite small so reservations are recommended. The menu did not have a wine pairing but the rose and red wines by the glass went well with the food.

Yelp
L'Agape is a good place to enjoy a tasty lunch for a moderate price. The chef utilises a vast range of cooking techniques and especially the sous vide one. We paid 19€ each for a 2 course menu. The decoration is modern and clean, while the service is gentle. Overall, L'Agape is a good restaurant to stop by.

Yelp
Lovely meal, beautifully composed, eaten outside right near a bubbling fountain. This restaurant is close to the Rue de la Republique, with a number of restaurants clustered around a square featuring a fountain and trees. It's a great place to eat on a warm night with the light in the sky until late. My "tasting" menu with a cool cucumber soup, fish, and dessert was paced perfectly, with ingredients from local suppliers. The food wasn't "spiced" but, as I find with lots of French cuisine, was seasoned enough to enhance the food but not overwhelm it. Our waiter spoke English well enough to help us with information, and the English menus (plus translation apps) made dinner choices fairly easy.

Yelp
Beautiful, unique, refined interior that's a blend of nostalgic Monaco racing posters and modern place settings. Delicious 35€ menu degustation with large portions. I had beef cheek, rabbit, etc while my partner had salmon, cod or similar white fish with mussel terrine. Verre de vin rouge au Maison was 5€, local, and delicious (Syrah/Grenache). I speak very little French and the staff was friendly and patient. Impeccable service. Customer attire was a blend of sport coats, jeans, and younger couples in sweaters. Recommended.

Yelp
This place was recommended by local artist, John Gormsen. It's fantastic. The dishes are excellently prepared and I particularly recommend this white wine. Delicious.

Yelp
Supposedly one of Avignon's finer culinary establishments -- perhaps we experienced an off-night? -- but the food was amongst the least enjoyable of our brief French trip -- and easily the worst in our regional review of Rhone restaurants. Issues did not include presentation -- but service was strained (grossly understaffed - one waiter, the hostess seemed to stand around mouth agape with incredulity) - and the dishes were not prepared correctly (over-cooked duck and veal; pungent, under seasoned fish). With low expectations, we would have survived the evening underwhelmed, but for a restaurant of high standing, our experience was quite disappointing.
