Lagman House Review - Sheepshead Bay - New York - The Infatuation

"This Dungan spot specializes in hand-pulled noodles, served in both hot and cold variations. Dungan food is the cuisine of one of China’s primary Muslim communities, and it pulls influences from all over Central Asia. Go with a group, because there’s a lot to try on this menu. Start with the Dungan-style salad, a zippy mount of shredded carrots with pickled greens and radish. It’s the perfect counterpoint to richer menu items, like dapan ji, a dish of wide, flat noodles topped with fragrant chicken. The classic lamian, hand-pulled noodles topped with beef, is a must-try, as is the ash lan fin, a cold noodle dish in a vinegar and soy-based sauce enhanced with fresh vegetables and wobbling batons of bean jelly. Food Rundown Dapan Ji Can’t decide between noodles or fried chicken? Dapan Ji lets you have both, smothered in a savory red pepper-based sauce. Ash Lan Fin These cold noodles made from bean jelly come topped with thinly sliced vegetables and beef. The dish is a textural wonderland, and it’s particularly enjoyable on a hot day. Classic Lamian Hand-pulled noodle soup with braised beef. If you’re only getting one thing, make it this. Dungan Style Salad You’ll want some vegetables to cut through all the noodles and meat here, and this melange of shredded carrots and pickled greens dressed in soy sauce offers the perfect hit of crisp acidity to balance out your meal." - Carina Finn

Good atmosphere for a family. Huge dine in hall, foods were okay in taste and price was little bit more expensive than other shops. Tasted Uighur Cuisines and it was average in taste.

Good service. Serve local food and western food. Good lagma. The pizza is great too. Reasonable price.

The food was fantastic. To other Western tourists I would recommend the beef noodles (of course). Delicious food (and the fruit tea!) The service was perfectly nice, very traditional, but the language barrier caused staff to be stand off-ish and inquisitive (learn a few phrases if you can). Atmosphere very cool, amazing downstairs decor, perhaps for men only.

The best lagman, the only thing that sucks is the service. Waiters just don’t care. I come here a lot and despite that still have to ask to be served. I believe they’re open 24/7.

The food is pretty average and the portions are small. The menu is overpriced compared to other similar restaurants in Tashkent (20% service fee at the end). The staff were nice though. Wouldn’t come back!

Sometimes you should remind to waiters that you are here... I think that they should change cashiers! That boys thouth that they did a favor... what a demeanor!

Located near chorsu bazaar Lot of options available on menu, but pls check as Plov etc usually gets finished bit early. They do accept Visa and master cards, They do offer cherry juice as a complementary drink. Lunch for 2 people cost us around 94K som. Keep in your bucket if you are visiting Corsu bazaar. If you want a traditional uigur lagman this is the place. Really delicious with noodles stretched by hand. You get a little bit chewy noodles with flavour rich sauce. Manti is also worth tryng: meaty, juicy and just a little bit spicy. But most importantly the dough was so thin and tender! The service is unfortunately a little bit unresponsive. You should call the waiter yourself unless you want to wait for a long time. Atmosphere is nothing fancy, but tidy and clean. This place is great if you want to treat yourself for a lunch
