This is a great spot that's been hidden for so many years until my aunt finally sent me an invite hahaha but if you’re craving flavorful seafood and a lively atmosphere. The food was delicious and well-seasoned, and the menu offered a good variety of options The menu prices were a bit on the pricey side but the quality of the food and presentation helped justify it. The drinks were also solid and paired well with the meal They had a live band performing, which definitely added energy to the restaurant, but it was a bit too loud at times and made conversation difficult. While live music is a nice touch, lowering the volume slightly would make the dining experience more comfortable One highlight of the restaurant is the amazing patio area, it’s perfect for eating outside, especially if you want to enjoy the atmosphere without being indoors. The patio really adds to the overall vibe and makes it a great place to relax. ****One small downside was the bathroom cleanliness. The bathrooms could’ve been cleaned a little more, which stood out compared to how nice the rest of the restaurant looked Overall, Lago Mariscos offers great food, a fun vibe, and a beautiful outdoor patio. With better sound control and cleaner restrooms, it would easily be a 5-star experience!!!

This is the Mexican restaurant experience I never knew I needed. On the way to the restaurant, I was game for something new. Going home I am singing its praises - this place is hands down the best new restaurant experience I’ve had in a long time. Don’t let the humble tables and chairs fool you - this place is spending its money on the amazing cuisine they put in front of you. Their chicharrón guacamole is so amazingly fatty you’ll ruin your diet in one bite. The contrast of avocado and bacon fat is insanely good. Their signature paella - what can I say? How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! Seafood exploding with delicious flavor, tart capers and salty olives, all the way to the creamy sauce topping the perfectly cooked rice. I was in seafood heaven. I never expected this place to cause me to redefine good Mexican food, but it absolutely has. There was also so much food we’ll be eating this for another meal later! The service was also great, very friendly staff and there’s even live music! I’ll absolutely be back, next time with friends. A truly fabulous experience!

Plenty of seating area, bar seats, outside patio seats and plenty of indoor seating. We had a party of 14 and not an issue to accommodate. Service was excellent. Drink and food order was taken efficiently. Food came out hot-warm. Delicious. Too bad they didn't have one of my fav dishes - carne guisada, but they had plenty of other options.

5 star experience from the time I arrived to the time we left. Vanessa was our server and did a great job guiding us through the menu and providing some excellent suggestions. The shrimp empanadas and ceviche tostadas are a must have. The entrees were nothing short of amazing and the live music was a very nice touch. I’ll definitely be back sooner than later!

Food and drinks were excellent. Service was very stellar despite them starting to get busy. Very blessed to have a place like this in Sugar Land. Excited to try more dishes and come in for a drink to watch a game or live music!

Our waitress Betsy was tge best. This was my first time. I will be back. I had this taco tacos with black Charro beans. These are some of the best black Charro beans I ever had. Thank you everyone for making it amazing.

Was there this past Friday and I have to say I had a good time. Sat on the patio. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Everything was tasty! Our server Vanessa was amazing always making sure we were taken care of! Shotout to the manager in charge and busboy. Will definitely be back!

We recently visited Lagos Mariscos and had a decent overall experience. The server was friendly, but she wasn’t very attentive and we had a bit of a hard time communicating at times. At one point, some extra food was brought to the table and then taken back. My wife ordered the steak fajitas — the flavor was good, but the dish came out warm rather than sizzling hot like we expected. The drinks were very good and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. One thing that was disappointing: dessert was never offered. As we were walking around afterward, my kids and wife saw the churros and were disappointed because we forgot they even served them. If it had been mentioned, we definitely would have ordered some. Overall, it was a good experience with room for improvement in attentiveness and food temperature. With a few small adjustments, this could easily be a 5-star visit. We’d be open to coming back and giving it another try.

It was a packed Friday night and we had a rather large party. We were seated outside and luckily the weather was pleasant. On Friday evenings they also have a live band for entertainment. I was told that the seafood boil was a good choice and that's what I got. I got a combination of crab legs and shrimp, the crab and shrimp was seasoned well and nicely cooked. My mango margarita was great to wash everything down with. They have lots of seafood entrées to choose from. Next time I would like to try their ceviche. Our service was attentive and polite. There's lots of parking but it can be crowded on the weekends.

Good food, good. Service. Great value. Their food is as good or better than some of the very pricey Tex Mex places in Houston. The outside patio has umbrellas for shade, AND fans. I wish more patios had fans. Nice cooling airflow AND the airflow helps keep bugs away. Nice visual touch seeing ducks and turtles swim by in the pond outside. Fatima was our server, and she was cheerful and energetic, and helped make this a very pleasant experience.

Let me start by saying that the food is great - especially the ceviche, which I make a meal out of (go for the aquachile if you like that green salsa style spice). Service is good, they're usually pretty busy, but the wait staff keeps up. And why 4 star then? If it isn't music blaring, it's Mariachi's blaring, or random soliciting of photographs. Every server we've had while the mariachis are around have commiserated - they don't like them either. It was so bad one time we almost cancelled our order and left (this was because another patron a table over from us plunked down a $20 and wanted the mariachis to serenade all through dinner). At least it isn't every night like this, but in the several times we've been there, it's always been *something*. Food is good at a decent price though, so we'll keep going back, but keeping it to non weekend evenings.

Reviewing for takeout. The takeout experience could be improved. The food was fine but everything was too salty. First, I tried to place an order with their online system but I guess they're not using it or watching it because the order didn't get confirmed. Then I called to place the order and the lady I spoke to was very nice. She told me my food would be ready for pickup in 10-15 minutes. I get to the restaurant in about 17 minutes. No one was at the hostess stand for about 3-4 minutes. Turns out, the food wasn't ready and we had to wait another 10 -15 min more for them to get it ready. We ordered a variety of foods. - chips & salsa (included with every order for free) - I like the chips from here because they're thin. The salsa comes warm and has a nice kick to it. - guac was a sizeable portion and had nice chunks of avocado in it - 7 mares soup - a disappointment. It was very salty, couldn't drink that much of the broth. The ingredients weren't the freshest. - fish playa azul - this dish was ok. very little crab and the crab was a bit mushy. Could barely see or taste the lemon sauce. Fish was too salty too. - trio enchiladas - average enchiladas.

A complete disappointment. Honestly I had such high hopes and expectations for this place after seeing so many great reviews for the high-quality food, excellent service and great ambiance. However, none of the above applied to my first-time experience at Lago Mariscos. Sad! The food was so-so. The oysters on the half shell were small, thin and translucent- just not my favorite. The 7 Mares soup tasted kind of funny- it was not served hot or warm but slightly cold. Was this soup supposed to be served that way? The Paella was A-OK. The chargrilled octopus was a little chewy, the shrimp was overcooked, the mussels were super small and some were not fresh and smelled bad. The fish filets and whole scallops were good. The scallops were actually pretty big and fresh- loved 'em. Yay! Service was alright- everyone looked so busy. We did make a reservation but still had to wait half an hour to be seated. Our server had disappeared for a long time after food was served, until she showed up again with our check. The live band- O.M.G. They were SOOOOOO LOUD in a bad way. Seriously, I was not able to hear anything else when the band was playing the unpleasantly loud music. Argh. We were seated about 50-60 feet away from the stage, but still, it was way too loud!! To me, this was not music for entertainment but extremely loud noise that hurt my ears. I hope the audience sitting in front of the stage did not go deaf by the time they finished their meals.

Great food and good service. A bit loud but I guess that is expected. Live band sang some American songs but only spoke to crowd in Spanish so I felt a little out of place. If you only come for food, then 5 stars!!!!

Large variety of Mexican style seafood, hot grill brought to your table if you are a lover seafood and tired of the typical seafood dishes you would love this place

Hey I really like this place, it's loud full of energy with great food and drinks. What else is important? The building has an attractive exterior but the inside reminds me of a large sports bar. We sat in the covered patio which was very warm (perhaps problems with the air). My dish was the Mango Fish topped with crab, shrimp and octopus. It was delicious!! Considering the crowd the drinks and food arrived quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive without being annoying. Yes, I will certainly return because I love seafood and they do it right.

Such a fun lively restaurant! The atmosphere was so fun with mariachi going around the whole restaurant and lots of families eating. It's quite crowded so a reservation is probably really helpful. Our Spanish isn't very great and our servers' English wasn't great but we were able to communicate. Regardless they were all so nice and happy to help us and work around the language barrier. The food was great and the seafood was so good. The oysters were a nice size and tasted great for a good price too. The Parrillada deliciosa was really good and great for sharing. We loved it and can't wait to come back!

Service is very good food not good at all. No seasoning, very bland for a Mexican restaurant. Drinks excellent! Atmosphere Great! I would go back for the chips and drinks (Alcohol only) because they don't seem to serve sweet tea. Or at least that is what I was kind of getting because I never got it and when I asked she looked confused.

The drinks are so good here! (Alcoholic and non alcoholic). Horchata is 10/10! Lemonade is freshly squeezed! Food was all delicious and everyone in my family loved their dish which is always pretty hard to accomplish. Highly recommend! We always sit outside and watch the birds, kids go and play. Service was fast and efficient!

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! We saw this place being featured on social media and had to give it a try, so glad we did. Food: 5/5 we got the ceviche, seafood soup and grilled octopus. I didn't really have high expectations but the freshness and flavor of the dishes blew me away. The margarita portions were HUGE and they were delicious too. This place gives you great food at a great value, what's not to like? Service: 5/5 service was AMAZING. They came to check on us frequently and got us our food and drinks quickly. The manager walked over to make sure everything was good for the night. Other restaurants should take notes, because this is one of the best services we've gotten at any restaurants. Ambiance: 5/5 this place was packed on a Friday night and it was popping with live mariachi music! We loved the authenticity of everything, we'll definitely be back!

Whew!! Where do I begin? I guess I'll start with the drinks! So, happy hour looks like it's M-F until 6pm but let me tell you...you'll only need ONE MARGARITA. However, happy hour is only eligible at the bar! I'm very picky with my Mexican food....i typically judge places off of their charro beans. If you don't have good charros, you ain't Mexican. Unfortunately, I didn't have the charros! LOL!! But I did have the barria tacos and they were absolutely delicious. If you check in, you get free queso. I didn't like the queso very much but their red sauce was pretty tasty! We had gummy bear shots, House Margaritas, Mojitos and Top Shlef Margaritas. We all thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The young lady that was our server was so sweet!! We were all having such a great time I'm sure she was sick of us at the end! LOL! However, she kept the party going and offered more drinks! We sat outside on the patio, they have heaters to keep you warm. Make sure to visit when you're in Sugar Land!

Pretty outstanding Mexican seafood joint in the Sugar Land area. The ceviche pura vida we got was fresh and tasty, even had the ledge del tigre after I finished it up (at home). The Baja fish tacos were light, crispy, and very satisfying. The seafood enchiladas were some of the better ones I've had in a long while. Last but not least, the mixed parillada we had was scrumptious. The only thing we didn't enjoy (wasn't bad but wasn't great) was the queso flameado. On the drink front, micheladas baby! Theirs are so good with the chamoy rim job. One of the top two micheladas (other being Capt Tom's) in my book!

This is a 3.5 star establishment - the food is mostly great but the service is so off I can't ignore it. The good: drinks! I had a michelada and I could have downed a few more easily. So delicious. The margaritas were also yum. The Queso Flameado is mandatory eats. The beef is marinated soooo well. Augustine also fantastic. The mid: the octopus / shrimp were all overcooked. Good flavor but texture too rubbery. I think this is because we had it on the grill plate with the meats, and that constant heat just did not do good to the seafood. I know it looks cool for presentation but doesn't feel cool in my mouth. The bad: Service. The servers were nice enough but were quick to run away whenever I tried to place an order. And no one I mean no one understands the concept of bussing tables. We piled all our used plates next to us at the end of our table and I stared at it for the entirety of our dinner. So def a star off for that. Even w the questionable service, the drinks and fajita beef were so good that I'd come back to try their other things! Hopefully they can train the staff to do better.

The food was excellent. I think this would be a great place for larger groups as it can be a little loud. They also have some entree options for 2 (or more) people. It does have a sports bar atmosphere. If thats not your vibe, eh... however, if you enjoy seafood, you've got to come try it. We had the fried tilapia, the chicken (pollo Del Mar?), blackened salmon, and the... gumbo. Everything was tasty.

Great place for seafood, lively music lots of events during the week and specials. The food was good service was excellent. At the time of my visit December 2023 i was told they have only been open for about a year. I was given a tour of the establishment and it was a big place plenty of room. They even have a private room on the second floor to host 100 guests they have pretty good deals on that option. Overall it was a great experience i spoke to the manager in charge and he was very nice and gave us the run down of the daily specials. One thing to note is that the establishment is just a little hidden behind/middle of the chick-fil-a and Carrabas in the same area. But if once you turn onto the area you can't miss it. Give them a try!

As soon as you walk in, you don't even feel like you are in Sugar Land. There was a mariachi band playing and it was a busy evening. Just beware, we tipped the band, and then he said veinte cinco...which was a huge turn off since we thought $10 was already pretty fair for a tip. The food is authentic but stick to the seafood which is what they do best! Ceviche was fresh, cold, and delish. Grilled pulpo was very tender. Will try of their fish next time. Surprisingly, the Birria tacos were also very good. Beef and chicken fajitas were ok but better at other places. Can't wait to try more items next time.

Plenty of parking, has an outside patio with water view and has indoor live music at times (can get loud on some nights). Fish playa azul has been the standout dish - the fried rice w/ the lemon butter sauce taste great! There are a variety of dishes from fajitas to ceviche, oysters, soups, even paella, and more! Lots of drink options as well. The seafood soup was quite salty so I wouldn't get that again, but I'll be back to try other items. I'd definitely still go back for the fish playa azul!

This is my 2nd time coming to Lagos. We booked a few tables for my husband's birthday and boy did we have fun! We sat out on the patio that is right off the water...nice view..especially for a sunny patio day. We had about 17 family members and were sat with no problems. The waiters were very nice and friendly. This is my 2nd time getting the crab, potatoes, corn and shrimp. I loved the spicy sauce and the crab and shrimp were pretty big. My husband got the octopus...this is the best deal I have EVER seen on octopus. He loved it. He made about 6 tacos from it. The kids meals come in a little boat. My sons still playing with his boat ...we got an extra,lol. I got a sangria and another drink and I don't think they were too strong. Next time I'll go for the margarita. This place is def a good time...they even had karaoke that night.

First time going here and it's my favorite Mexican food I've had in Sugar Land! Really great flavors. Their fajita beef is amazing.

The Seafood boil is good with diffent level of spices. Service is great . The ambiance is nice due to the water if you sit outside . The view is nice and relaxing

Came here right after the Jill Scott concert, so you know I was real hungry. Chileee I was singing and dancing so hard I should've been on that stage with her...but let me get to the point. Looked up the reviews on this place is how we found it and they had me at "seafood enchiladas"! Walked in and the Latin music is bumping so that's a vibe already. Had the Grand Anejo which got to the point and was yummy both times I ordered it. My husband ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks and he is super picky about how these are made. Let's just say they crushed it and he ordered two of those too. Started with Chili Con Queso and it was super delicious and flavorful. Ordered the Seafood enchiladas verdes and they were ahhhmazing! The rice had a very unique taste almost like beef flavor. Black beans were easy to eat but I had to remember I was on a date with the husband and flatulence would not be a good look. So I held back on that. The enchiladas had seafood in every bite. The shrimp tasted VERY clean which was a plus. Our server was extremely attentive and on top of it. We had to break her off A little more than the usual for her tip for that reason. So run here don't walk you won't be disappointed!

Good service. Loved the outdoor sitting. The indoor was super loud and had bad karaoke. The food was good but the best part was the flan!

I can attest to the yummy food and wonderful customer service. I have visited the restaurant multiple times and never been disappointed. There is frequently lively music and entertainment in one area of the restaurant. A good time is there to be had. I introduced my young adult daughter and several of her Houston Aunties and Godparents to the restaurant last week. I arranged a Happy Hour (15 guests) so my daughter could visit with her Aunties without running all over town during her short trip back home from living out of state. It was a huge success and the restaurant gained some new customers. The restaurant managers were very accommodating and even provided tickets for me to give each guest for a drink. I ordered some appetizers for the table in addition to the host drinks. My server, Debbie, was on top of keeping my tab separate from the guests who ordered additional food and drinks for themselves. The frozen margaritas are always smooth and refreshing. I had the quesadillas and shrimp ceviche for the first time. Everyone enjoyed them. I didn't get pictures of the food or margaritas on this visit, so you'll have to take my word for it! I will add some pictures from a previous visit. The food tastes as good as it looks and maybe better. Grab your friends and family and go enjoy yourself, responsibly!

Always great food. Fried fish could have used more seasoning but other plates we got were very tasty. I love to sit downstairs since the ambience is better, this time we got sat upstairs and it was very quiet. It was good overall!

We've been back to Lago Mariscos twice since my last review and thought I should update it. The food and drinks are great. It's the atmosphere that's an issue for us. The music is really loud and unless you're sitting way in the back near the patio area it's difficult to talk. My understanding is that this is typical of a Mexican marisco style restaurant. Probably fun for large groups but not so much for couples looking to talk and decompress after a busy week. Back to the food, we've had raw oysters, cerviche, fish, tacos and octopus and all was delicious.

Mexican seafood, sign me up. This place is so fun. We got top shelf margaritas and they did not disappoint. That paired with the live mariachi band who took song requests made for such a fun night for the whole family. Oh the food ... Amazing. Starts off with warm Bolillos and butter with a side of spicy pickled carrots. I LOVED that it was different from the usual chips and salsa you expect at a Mexican restaurant. The flavor is new and bold. We had the octopus (pictured) and the fish and shrimp in adobo sauce (not pictured). The ONLY critique I have was that the octopus and shrimp were a little overcooked. But I bumped this to 5 stars because the manager was SO receptive to our feedback and even offered us some food for next time, which there will be! This place is definitely worth a try!

Run, don't walk! I will not gate keep- everyone needs to know about this spot! Cleanliness- 10 Service- 10 Food- 100000/10 We got the molcajete for 2, and it did not disappoint! Just look at the pictures.. We also had a queso, which was what I'd expect it to be, and their salsa is bomb- came out hot, too! Hubby got a Michaela and said the chamoy wasn't the best, but there's a bunch more to choose from. New regular spot, for sure! Also, shout out to our beautiful server Jennifer! She was amazing and speaks English if you aren't fluent in Spanish

Mrs and I hosted dinner here for a party of 12. It was easy to make a reservation in the Yelp app. We ordered a variety of alcoholic drinks and foods. Everyone was impressed with the alcohols, foods, and table service. The seafood dishes, especially the ceviches shined the brightest. The beef and chicken fajitas could use more seasoning, but were tender. Conversation was a little difficult because there was a DJ playing loud music. Parking spaces were plentiful. We will return for sure.

My wife and I took a trip to San Antonio and Houston Texas. We came here for lunch after we have seen a Instagram clip about this restaurant. When the video clip shows an octopus dish, we are sold. There are many outdoor sittings if the temperature allows. Our server Lulu is very friendly and patient with us when we try to read through the menu. We were also greeted by the manager and the chef. Since we came here for the food, let's talk about their food. This place does not disappoint us. We ordered the Octopus dish and a seafood soup. First of all, the octopus dish is served on top of a hot skillet plate to keep it warm all the time. The Octopus meat is so tender and it doesn't need a steak knife to cut it. The taste is just right and the fajita style veggies that are served with it is perfect. The veggies soaked up the sauces and they taste great. The seafood soup (7 Mares) is full of seafood like fishes, scallops, mussels, shrimp, octopus, clams, and 1 full cluster of blue crab. It is delicious and very fulfilling. All in all, if you come to Houston's and have the time to drive to Sugar Land area, you will owe it to yourself not to try this place.

Drinks and food were excellent!! My family enjoyed the seafood platter! I would recommend this place if you're around the Sugarland area.

We made the drive from Manvel to Sugar Land after seeing this place on yelp. Don't Start with the Salsa and chips taste fresh .. like literally someone in the back making it. FRESH! Service was good. All I'm going to say about the drinks my wife couldn't finish hers. So what does that tell you? They are not stingy here!! You'll see when you walking out how you feel lol. Ambiance is a vibe forsure! If you're looking for that Authentic Mexican atmosphere I got that here. Live Band was playing music on a Sunday. I'll be back!!

Took my dad here for Father's Day and oh boy they were super super busy! But the hostess was very nice and patient! We all really enjoyed all the food and atmosphere! The oysters were a BIG hit we ordered 2 dozen!

The food and service used to be great a couple years ago! Each time we go it gets worse. The ceviche is either super fishy or bland and rubbery. The pulpo is overcooked. The quality of food has gone down with each visit. And be sure to review your bill closely. We were charged so many extras that weren't charged before. $5 for a few slices of cucumber? Never going back.

I am happy to see a Mexican seafood restaurant. The outdoor setting reminds me of Cabo. The indoor is also great. Big open bar with tons of TV's, great for watching sport. The food is amazing.

Our new favorite spot. Disappointed we went over a year living here without knowing about the atmosphere, food and drinks Lago Maricopa offers. We brought our 19 month old who loved running after the ducks and watching the turtles in the creek right outside the patio. Our waitress was precious- she offer our son her Easter ears for photos. Multiple people came by to check on our experience. The chips, salsa and cheese dip were all yummy. We also ordered the combo platter for 2 that had fish, chicken, steak and stuffed shrimp with beans, rice and other sides. Truly amazing- very filling- and highly recommend everything!!

Food was your standard Tex-mex, service was wonderful and the waterside views were refreshing. Cocktails were alright, so next time I'm here I'll likely go with a standard beer. If you're ever in the mood to get away to a place with some breeze and water views, this is a great choice. We came with my 1 year old nephew and he was thoroughly entertained with the geese that were wandering outside the restaurant perimeter. Great spot for a family meal out in Sugarland !

The place is vibrant but the food was not up to the mark. Also there was a pin in my son's food. When we pointed it out the waitress was very indifferent and said she will get the manager. Manager apologized and said they will take away the order and then asked if we would like any dessert. We asked for one and were surprised to be charged for the food with pin as well as the dessert. We were so done with the night that did not want to waste any more time and energy.

They've always been good, but today was a miss. Drink excellent, Oysters were good. The ceviche was a miss. It was fresh, but was not tossed in like juice... it was very,very,dry... I've tried all of the ceviche's and they've been great... This time not so much. Service was great as usual... and the ambiance was nice, for lunch.

Red salsa was warm and GREAT flavor. Mix Empanadas were SO good especially with the cilantro sauce it came with. We go the Parrillada for 2. The octopus and shrimp has a really good butter sauce I liked. The beef fajita was a little dry... chicken quesadilla were great and came with refried black beans I've never had before. The pepino jalapeno margarita came in a shaker with a tajin rimmed glass ($13.99)! I didn't really care for the grapefruit margarita drink ($13.99) but it was pretty. Ambiance was fun, they played a lot of good music and I think they had karaoke going at one point. Service was a little slow at first but we were not in a hurry and the actual main entries came out pretty quick. 5 stars I wanna go back and try the clams and scallops!

Food was just okay. Service was poor. The ambiance was nice. It was a party of 35 with only one waitress. Who didn't bring the meals out in a timely manner, no water refills.

The decor is not bad, but not great either. I was surprised to hear that this was part of the Los Cucos chain because the food was tasty. No shade I have been a few times when they first opened and was satisfied each visit. I love the fresh bread and pickled carrots and jalapeños they give you. The Cajun rice was a little salty for me, but edible(not pictured) I love the flavor on the crawfish boil. The happy hour is not bad either. Service is fast and friendly. Also not pictured is the queso flameado which was really good.

Nice day to sit on quieter patio. Shared a expensive beef and chicken and shrimp fajita bowel ($50) with wife, that filled with too much pepper juice. Food was good, Presentation, a bit gross. Service was good but not excellent.

Ceviche rojo is a 5/5 in spicy, be careful!! but very yummy. Cucumber Jalapeño margarita highly recommend.

Great place, with plenty of choices not the typical Tex-Mex you usually get. That was my first visit and had the fried red snapper and it was great, will definitely go there again and try other items on the menu.

Everything was so good. Fresh. Oh so gooood. 1st time and we will be back. Best seafood enchiladas I've ever had. Bartender was good and service was great.

When I came here, I was pleasantly surprised to realize it was the old Los Cucos location! They renovated the place a little bit, and it was spacious and neatly decorated. I ordered the Fish Playa Azul which came with fried rice, lemon butter crab meat, black refried beans, and avocado. All of it was absolutely delicious. It was a great portion, and all of the ingredients married together well.
