Laguna BOB

We were told to go check this place out by family that has been before and it did not dissapoint! We started with a Yellow Fin signature cocktail and it was so delicious! 3 of us had their vurger which was a fresh pattied burger on an onion bun with lots of condiments and toppings plus add on options. The 3 of us had sweet potato fries, French fries and fried pickles and all of it was delicious. Our last guest had the teriyaki chicken bites which were also delicious. It took almost no time for our food to come out and the staff was so friendly and fun. Live music started at 6 and the guy singing had an incredible voice. 10/10 recommend, especially if you want to enjoy some drinks and music right on the water!

I definitely love the atmosphere as well ad the service from bartender..his drinks were right in point. My eofe got a Yellowfin and it was delicious! Great view for the sunset as well.

Always a great place for a sunset, a drink and live entertainment. There is no table service, but the bartenders are friendly, the food is fresh and the entertainment is probably the best on SPI.

Chillax!! Your on the island n life is blessed!! Sweet Bay chill vibes, sweet sunsets, cold brews, great atmosphere! You can't go wrong. There's no table service so you get your own drinks, no biggie- bartenders are usually fast with little wait. Live music is awesome!! Small dance floor near band, so dance dance baby!! Kool breeze flowing, boats passing by.....go get em tiger!! Have a blast!!!

They specialize in cocktail drinks served in a plastic souvenir cup. Their cocktail drinks are not my favorite, but the beach vibes and the sunset make up. They do serve the typical bar food. It’s not the best. At times, it gets too busy for the servers to handle. I’d like to see more staff when the crowd is high. Our server was very overwhelmed trying to serve multiple large groups at the same time.

Live music was great! Had so much fun listening to people preform. Drinks are pretty expensive though.

I didn't end up ordering any food, but I tried some fried pickles and it was a good late night snack. They ID at the door, and the restaurant is the perfect size where it's intimate, but not too crowded. There's live music and a small dance floor, and obviously a beautiful place to watch the sunset.

So far, our favorite beach bar. Great outdoor seating with spectacular bay view. Drinks were good and the mahi ceviche was very good. We'll be back to try some of the other menu items

As far south on Padre Island as you can go,overlooking the beautiful Laguna Madre sits this little gem. There are many places here that you can catch a glorious Texas Gulf Coast sunset. Cheap,expensive,food,no food. However, Bob's is laid back,cheap good drinks,no expectations and a great view of the sinking fire ball. Oh,did I mention the friendly people and low key live music? I highly recommend it.

Terrible service. Watered down drinks. Rude servers. Ceviche wasn't not good either. Bouncer was not nice.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Workers are rude and disrespectful. The view is great but not worth the time or money! Any place next door would be so much nicer.

An older crowd, but as I'm older myself, I didn't mind. No draft beers. Couldn't find a beer I liked so I ordered a rum & coke. I was sober & it tasted like a slight rum & coke. So I ordered 1 Long Island to get a decent kick. I was disappointed. My bill was $18 dollars plus tip (for those 2 drinks ! ) Still feeling quite sober, I tipped 18% & left; & went next door to the "Tequila Sunrise" bar. Drinks were considerably much stronger there. Need I say more ?

This is the 2nd time I have been to Padre and I will always go to Laguna BoB when I do. The atmosphere is amazing, live music during the day and night and the views are amazing. The staff is friendly and accommodating and it's always a blast, I highly reccomend!

Very relaxed, bay side bar. Bar food but really good. If you're coming to watch the sunset, bring sunglasses because the sun sets right over the patio. Not a problem, but you should know..

Beautiful view and live music were the highlights of Laguna Bob. I We ordered fish tacos, fried pickles, ceviche, and fried shrimp. The food was not great. Food: The fish tacos lacked flavor. The ceviche had a weird flavor. The fried pickles were actually good. They were not too salty. View/live music: If you're looking for a place that has a good view of the bay and live music this is your place.

Bar with few food options that they serve till. 10:00pm. We went on a Saturday night. It caters to an older crowd. Ordered the large ceviche, which we ended up throwing away due to it having jalapeños in it. No where on the menu did it state that it was spicy and made with jalapeños which ceviche is typically not. All good is to be ordered at the bar as there is no waitresses. Band was mediocre. Not a place I will be returning to.

What a fun spot! All ages of patrons looking to have a good time. The beer is cold and the bands are entertaining.

Just what we were looking for. We wanted a place to hang out after a day of windsurfing, which for me means no makeup,flip flops, casual, outdoor patio, a view would be nice, and a plus would be music. That's exactly what we got at Laguna BoB (Bar on Bay). My guy and I had sweet rum drinks and tasty fish sandwiches while enjoying the breeze, the view, and a terrific local band (no cover charge). There was enough room to dance too- BONUS! This is a very casual place. You order and pay at the bar, and they give you a number to display at your table. All in all, it has a perfect vacation vibe. Get away for a couple of days, and stop in Laguna BoB. Hang loose.

Great patio to listen to live music and watch the sun set. This place is relaxed and casual, great after a long day at the beach. There isn't a ton of variety on the menu, which is taped to the side of the napkin holders on each table, but the grilled chicken sandwich was big, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Fried pickles were great with Ranch dressing, and I liked that they were cut the long way with a light fry. You order at the bar, they give you a number, and then the waitstaff bring your food to you. Bartenders were friendly, efficient, and accommodating!

Come see bob at the laguna. Nice sunset, music, views, people watching, food. Words to meet min requirement.

What a view & plenty of drink options. They had a great local band on the weekend I visited. Definitely plan on enjoying their shrimp again. Can be hard to find parking on a busy weekend.

Horrible service me and my friends came out to bar hop and enjoy some food and drinks at strip when we went inside got IDs checked perfectly fine went outside to get some air and got our IDs checked three times when he saw we just stepped out. A bald guy checked our IDs and told us to leave when we are of age and the other security did not step in at all. Told them we would take our business elsewhere.

I'm so glad to have stopped by this place. Very chill outdoor area and it has live music. The bartender was very nice and helpful. The food is delicious and very fast to be served. I ordered small size ceviche and half order of wings. Very tasty wings!!its so crispy and delicious . For the ceviche very fresh! Overall this place rocks...!!!

This night is already becoming a blurrr. And I'm loving everything and everyone. Great place, location and try the Yellow Fin.

Food is good, bar tenders are super good and friendly. I would recommend this place all the time.

We went here for a quick bite to eat after initially arriving in South Padre. I don't know if it is because of Covid or their usual MO, but you have to order from the bar. The service is pretty quick and efficient. We decided to do a menagerie of appetizers. WOW they were all delicious. The ceviche is definitely a must! Their Yellow Fin cocktail, although high in calories I am sure, was so good! Will I be back? Without a doubt. We went there 2 more times while on our vacation just to grab Yellow Fin.

This is a really great place to eat with family and all, if you aren't a person who likes seafood, they have lots of other foods like fries, and cheeseburgers just so great! The service their is totally outstanding with quick fast Service you get your great food in no time. As for Ambiance the views are so amazing and pretty for photos as of beachside I totally recommend!

I've been here a few times over the years that we have vacationed in SPI and I love it! The staff is always awesome and accommodating. They offer a nice menu of food and drinks, with live music at night. This spot was perfect for watching the sunset!

Didn't eat here. They are not pet friendly. We had our service dog with us. Oh well. On to tequila sunset.

Laguana BoB's is tough to put into words. I'll say this, it's an open-air bar right on the bay and the drinks are cheap. So...it pretty much checks all of the boxes. That said, it's pretty crowded, the food isn't anything to write home about and the crowd can be...interesting to say the least. We had a fun time while down in South Padre, and I think it's somewhere you should definitely stop by, but not my favorite of all of those bars on that strip. Quite the experience!

We loved the looks of this place, so it was our first stop when we arrived on the island. Hard to believe that we were able to grab 2 seats at the bar. Tom was bartending, and was quick to fix our drinks and order our food. The special of the day was wings. We chose the roasted style. They were so big, and so delicious! Jul and the Chrome Wheels Band was playing, and their selection of music was right on for the February midday crowd.

Great little.place to listen to an awesome band. I have to say south padre island is a fun place to take a mini vacay.

We received poor service here at noon on a Friday. The waitstaff seemed more interested in talking to each other at the hostess stand. After we had to go up to our waitress there and give her our drink order (10 mins after the menu was dropped off) she copped an attitude throughout. Maria didn't even say one word when she set the bill down.... Pro's- it's nice to sit on the water. The decor is cute and lively. The ranch dressing is the good kind. The mixed fried vegetable basket appetizer was delicious. Cons- service. Seared Ahi tuna wrap was very sinewy. I had to spit out several bites that were unchewable. It was served in a thick, store bought style tortilla. With great Mexican food all around, there are probably better tortilla options. My fork had food crusted on it from a previous diner. The drink menu is pretty limited for a place that is marketing fun and liquor on the beach. The Twisted Tea was not good- supposedly crafted from several liquors, bit they managed to give it that 'fresh out of a can' taste like the Twisted Tea you can buy at the market. The Miami Vice was good.

Bartenders are extremely rude and called the police on me for a drink they claimed I stole. I had receipts in my hand and they still got me arrested other bars told me that they do not like tourist and Hispanic people there. They also tried to charge my card 52 dollars for 2 beers. My charges were dropped within a week because the bar knew they had no evidence against me. Do not come here terrible people.

Fun music and crowd, crap food, cheap, fried and horrible. Friendly staff, lousy food.

Came to hear Danica and eat. Monday wings and peel and eat shrimp. The original roasted chicken wings were delicious as was the peel and eat shrimp (although I would have preferred them hot) You order from the bar so not much contact with the servers. All staff wore masks

This was the most amazing experience of our whole week in SPI. The bartender mixed the best from scratch margarita and the fried pickles where out of this world. The locals made the whole evening introducing themselves and we had the best time laughing- I would say this is THE place to gang, on and by the way the singer on the stage right in front of you was killer...

Fish Tacos were delicious and welcoming as we were ready for lunch. Our tacos were served with a tasty mayo spread, I think, and it added an extra flavor. Fries, regular and sweet potato, and waffle and regular and larger steak fries-I know-what a mixture, but this added to a variety of texture. Weird! Lutz had an IPA, and I had a Coors Light because I was in the mood for a good American, cold beer. The only thing was that the sun was on full mode! Hot! Hot! And hotter! My beer got warm after I had only finished half! :( This reminds me that I just have to take a coozie next time it's this hot. 105 at least! We'll return here as it's comfortable sitting in the shade and looking out over South Padre's bay. You know after this, we headed to the cooler ocean side of South Padre and relaxed some more! :)

Came more for the ambience than the food and drinks. Ordered a shrimp basket and madrerita, both good. The fries are a mix of sweet potato, regular cut fries and seasoned waffle fries...pick one or give an option to choose. Drink was weak. Waitress gave a really ugly annoying look when we asked for extra items. Overall music was really good and the water view was beautiful.

Lovely views! Sitting on the bay and eating lunch was pretty great. Super laid back atmosphere. Order at the bar and they bring it to your table. I'm sure coming here during sunset would be an awesome site to see!

Great place to hang out for a while tonight. Order at the bar, pick a place to sit and they deliver the food to your table. Hubs ordered wings and I had the biggest BLT I've ever seen and both at reasonable price. The couple performing was really good and wasn't too loud.

If you're looking for a bayside spot to have some fresh fried seafood this is one of many great spots. The servers were friendly, attentive, and made the experience a great one for us. Combine the great service with good food and we were happy patrons of Laguna Bob's. I highly recommend their appetizer of fried vegetables. The name is escaping me at the moment but it has Texas Toothpicks and you can't go wrong with those!

Visited this place last night and it was super awesome place to sit down, chill and have a cold beverage and enjoy the live music. All drinks are very reasonably priced and would say very good priced for the Island. The bartender is fast and makes great drinks and just the overall atmosphere is fantastic! If you are looking for a place to just hang out on the island and just relax and enjoy a pleasant evening, this is your place! It's always a great time at Laguna Bob's!

It was a cold day we were here but still enjoyed the setting sun through the clouds. And the band was great. Had to try the "World's Best Ceviche". Since I'd never had it before, hard to say but I liked it. I would recommend ordering the smaller portion if you're not sure if your party would eat the whole big bowl. It's a lot for one person even as an entree.

When they say small, but they mean tiny. "Small ceviche for $12." Wow. Sorry, not worth it.

Went here from Minnesota to enjoy my sisters birthday and they assumed our IDs were fake since I'm from out of state so The manager was super rude and disrespectful wouldn't recommend this place at all

Great bar to have a few drinks, listen to music and enjoy the sunset. They also are not lying about the ceviche, it's the best I've ever had. My only complaint is that there is only one bathroom per gender.

We've tried the fancy expensive place on the island, we tried the highly Yelp rated place, we've even tried the recommended places from work. This place which we decided to "give it a try" has had the best food on the island. Hands down. Ok now, it's a bar and you're getting "bar food" but I'll tell you what, it was a really good lunch. Both the fish tacos and fish sandwich were grilled perfectly. Great flavor on the fish, and it's not fried! The fried pickles are sliced lengthwise (I thought they messed up the order,they looked like french fries) and were great. The fries are a mix of potato, sweet potato, and waffle. And, the coleslaw was really good too. I had some fruity cocktail off their list, I don't remember the name. It had coconut rum, banana liquor, and pineapple juice; wow it was good. That is until the ice melted and water it down, then it sucked. So drink it fast! Missing star then? I'm picky and I just can't give it a full 5. Bar keep smoking on the job is one reason...
