I was so disappointed tonight. Although it was lobster night I decided to go with the Crab Stuffed Mahi Mahi. I asked the server if it was possible to not have the truffle tomatoes in the risotto "I can't have tomatoes I'm allergic". He stated it would be no problem. Once my meal was placed in front of me it only took a few seconds to see the diced tomatoes, at first I thought they may possibly be red peppers so I took a few off my plate and gave them to my mom. Yup they were tomatoes. I called the server over, he apologized and stated a new plate would be right out. I told my mom to eat her dinner as I didn't want hers to get cold. While waiting the server gave us a drink chip. 20 minutes later my meal arrived, my mom was done with her meal so I asked for mine to be boxed up and for the check. I was a bit shocked honestly. There was no discount on my meal or any items on the check however I did get a wooden chip for a LYC, glass of wine, beer or a well drink....
Here's my real issue... Our server really didn't seem all that concerned about the tomatoes, more or less an "oops" attitude. No manager came over to apologize, (I'm assuming he was the one cracking everyone's lobsters, and didn't know?) the Chef didn't come out to speak about the mistake (possible he wasn't informed?)
If I had gone later I would have never seen the tomatoes as we were seated where there was only a few lights around us and a candle on each table as the sun sets it very dim, however also very pretty. I dare to think what would've happened if I hadn't noticed the tomatoes.
I did tip, I didn't make any fuss (I was a guest of a member) I did eat my meal once I was home, honestly it was average...
However as someone who works in the food industry I wanted to warn patrons to be weary of eating here and to check your food if you have any type of food allergy, it doesn't seem to be taken to seriously.
+1 star for the view and +1 star for the friendly bartender that brought a drink chip to our table a few minutes after we were first seated.
-3 stars for the close call of a long night in the hospital (l'm glad I missed out on the stomach pump) and no real acknowledgment of the issue.
Honestly I wasn't expecting the total cost of my personal meal to be comp'd or even a huge discount (10% I probably would've never scored only 2 stars) but I was highly disappointed that the situation was so lax as a whole. Just a little more attention to detail and attentive response most likely would've received a better review and more then a 9.00 tip on a 97.00 bill.
I am thankful there's no hospital bill to go along with this.
