"Christy Hughes immigrated the U.S. on March 8, 1974 — coincidentally the same day The Dubliner opened its doors to the public — and became the restaurant’s first-ever general manager soon after. He now owns the Irish Inn at Glen Echo and Lahinch Tavern and Grill in Potomac, Md." - Dayana Sarkisova

I came here and tried out their burger, it was very good and has an amazing smoked flavor without the char, but the fries, were boarkwalk style and none of my friends liked them, they have changed to these fries from other ones that were really good years ago. This place has a bar seating area and a fancy white table seating area on the other side of the location. The food comes out fast and hot. The fish and chips were nice and crispy, minus the chips which again, none of my 5 friends have liked. The service is pretty good. There is a live band about 4 times a week or so in the bar area which is really nice, you can check out their website for more information.

We came for DC trivia and got some happy hour items before it started (happy hour ends at 6:30pm, trivia starts at 7). We got the hot crab dip and calamari to share among 3 people; needless to say I was still hungry and I will definitely be trying a meal item next time. The crab dip was just slightly burnt but still yummy, and the calamari was great and came with a nice mayo kind of dip with some peppers in it. I got a perfect gin martini which was a little sweet and smooth and smelled very nice. The trivia host was very friendly and we will surely be back for more.

Had a Sunday brunch here for Mother's day. The staff that waited on us was friendly enough and fairly attentive. A bit nitpicky and perhaps unfair, but we would have appreciated some level of attention from the other hostesses and manager as we departed; as by comparison we observed them being fairly active with the other guests. Regarding the food, we ordered the corned beef hash, lamb stew, crab toastie, the shrimp scallops with risotto, as well as a blood mary. The lamb stew dish had mash potatoes, the mashed potatoes was delicious and mixed well with the stew sauce, but the lamb itself was a bit dry and needed a heavy amount of mashed potatoes to offset it. The crab toastie was slightly over seasoned but put together well and had a good flavor overall, but we were disappointed at the lack of attention to detail in the fact that the avocado slice on the toast was not yet ripened - made obvious by the hardness. No serious issues or constructive criticism with the corned beef hash aside from my mother not enjoying the dish all that much. The blood mary tasted good but there was a noticeable lack of alcohol for a 8.50$ item. Lastly the big ticket special, the scallop and shrimp in risotto. The scallop was cooked well, the risotto and scallop dish was enjoyed throughout the table - as we are a sharing group. The main let down was the fact that the shrimp used in the dish had a telling sign that it was not freshly obtained from the market given the size and shape. This was disappointing especially being a 32$ dish. This also resulted in some pessimism as to whether we had eaten fresh crab as well. I think this will be a great establishment for having some drinks especially with the bottomless deal and enjoying live music, but I would be hesitant to seriously recommend any food options, especially the higher priced items.

Excellent Irish place in our area. Food is delicious, staff is great, and decor works very well with it all.

Great food and fantastic service. One of the best corn beef sandwiches ever! Served with an au jus for dipping and packed with Cole slaw and gruyere cheese, wow! Desert was a whole wheat carrot cake that sounded healthy but tasted like a cheat day.

Nice Irish pub to grab a drink. They don't have a ton of craft beers on tap but they do a good job rotating them. The bar is huge and wraps around to the dining room.

Would definitely recommend this place. Awesome vibes, life music, flavourful dishes, fantastic customer service. Highly recommended. suggestions : please add more vegetarian and vegan dishes. stop the use of plastic , use normal glas for sodas in stead of plastic cups ; it tastes better and it saves the planet. #saynotoplastic
