"Lahpet is a buzzing Burmese restaurant serving enough coconut and ginger to shock you out of your urban blues. The vegan yellow pea paratha is a zesty little flatbread number, and you’ll be tempted to ask the massive king prawns about their workout regime. The highlight, though, is the coconut noodles. Rich, creamy, with an essential crispy wonton that serves as the ultimate spoon." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager
"Lahpet’s original restaurant is in Shoreditch, but in our opinion, its Covent Garden spot is better. Downstairs there’s a buzzing open kitchen and big sharing tables that are perfect for anyone who’s on a solo mission to eat some excellent Burmese noodle soup. Upstairs, the lighting is a little moodier and there are lots of two-person tables that will suit a date night involving lentil chow chow, several small plates, and a round of Lahpet’s pickled tea take on a classic martini. Expect great vegan options, gluten-free numbers, and enough ginger to shock you out of your urban blues." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"Being loved-up? Fabulous. Not being able to eat noodles on your date night? Terrible. Enter Lahpet, a cool and casual Burmese restaurant in Covent Garden, where the go-to glass noodles are gluten-free and importantly, covered in chilli jam. This place has a whole host of free-from options and although the coconut-packed curries are an easy win, it’s extra exciting that so many of the noodle dishes are gluten-free too. The downstairs table is a big sharing situation with other diners, so opt for the upstairs tables if you want to set the mood for a little romance." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
"Lahpet already have their original restaurant in Shoreditch, but in our opinion their Covent Garden spot is bigger, better, and importantly, tastier. Downstairs you’ve got a buzzing open kitchen and big sharing tables that are perfect for anyone who’s on a solo mission to eat some excellent noodle soup. Upstairs, the lighting is a little moodier and there are lots of two-person tables that will suit a date night involving sweetcorn and shallot fritters, several small plates, and a round of their pickled tea take on a classic martini. Expect great vegan options, gluten-free numbers, and enough ginger to shock you out of your urban blues." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
