Google
Shout out to Gerald he was a great server he took great care of us when we visited. The chicken sandwich was delicious I got the ghost cheese so it had a wonderful kick of spice. I'd skip the side salad next time. Truffle fries were good. Perfectly crispy and hot. I also really enjoyed the charred green beans. My husband said his Luxe burger was cooked well and very juicy. The jungle bird was delicious, I'd definitely get it again. This spot is pretty solid with the food, the service and the music!

Google
Great experience! We sat out on the patio and it was great! Our server Emily was terrific. She had great suggestions and was very helpful when we had questions or when we were confused on anything on the menu. All the staff were great, super friendly and clearly liked being there. The food was great. I was a bit skeptical of the aioli that came with the hanger steak at first but it was delicious. I should have just trusted the menu. It was great. My friend got a make your own and did fried rice, ahi, and pork belly and it was so good. So many great flavors going on. This has been on my list to get to and I’m so glad I finally went. It was great and I hope to be back to try something new.

Cozy place with some delicious food. The Ginger Seared Tofu was one of the best Vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had. The fried cauliflower was also fantastic. Great spot for brunch as well!

Google
I forgot to get this written sooner but my wife and I stopped in for lunch and had an amazing experience! We had never been to this establishment before, we were in the area taking maternity photos and just Googled "restaurants." We were in around 3:45pm and the place was relatively empty, but my assumption is that's only because it wasn't dinner time yet. With that said, I could easily see this place filling fast with how amazing the food tastes and the great service. Joe M was our server and not only did he display a knowledge of the menu, but gave us great suggestions and was very attentive! We started with the Truffle Fries, and both got a burger. She got the Cheeseburger and I got the Luxe Burger. She unfortunately had to get it cooked a little more done through being she is pregnant but either way, our burgers were juicy and delicious! I was especially delighted by the foie gras butter. She ordered a mint lemonade mocktail that looked just as good as it tasted. If you haven't ever been here, please please stop in and give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Google
First time here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place has a nice atmosphere and a great staff, but the food stole the show. We did the Buttermilk Chicken sandwich and the brisket sandwich. The Buttermilk Chicken has some hype for good reason, but I think the brisket sandwich was possibly the better of the two. Both were great and we’ll be back soon to try some other menu items.

Google
I don’t know how else to say it other then this is the best restaurant for the value in Minneapolis. The food quality and service is unmatched. Been coming here for 7+ years and never left with a bad taste in my mouth, never left hungry, and never left upset. The owner Chris treats his staff with respect and care that allows them a healthy work environment to enjoy and you feel it every visit. I can’t recommend enough paying lake and Irving a visit, this is my second night in a row and planning a reservation for tomorrow night 12/10 over all

Excellent gastropub serving tasty food and well crafted cocktails. Our Luxe Burgers and Tostado were wonderful. Very nice beer tap list as well. I plan to return

We had a great Sunday brunch here. Every staff member was so friendly and the service was great. The menu has so many good options and what I got was delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We dined here on a Sunday night with early dinner reservations and it was not too crowded (definitely could have walked in). We were seated at a lovely table near the windows. There were a few highlights of the evening. The first was our server, Matt. He was the perfect mix of attentive but did not crowd us or rush us - and he knows everything about the food and wine. The other highlight is definitely how pleasantly surprised we were with the quality and taste of all of our food. Standouts included the hanger steak, prepared to order, presented sliced and served with these amazing potatoes called hurricane potatoes. They are thick cut like a steak fry but shaped like a giant curly fry with the perfect amount of seasoning outside and warm, fluffy potato inside. The salmon dish also was outstanding. Fish is prepared medium, which is quite rare and pink in the middle. It absolutely melted in my mouth, and I was equally impressed with the bed of wild rice, rich with flavors and textures, even including tiny bites of sous vide egg white - just wow! They don't mess around here, it's great food. We finished with desserts. The table favorite turned out to be the cheesecake, which I think was due to the wonderful espresso and caramel sauces on the top. I enjoyed the Tres Leche but some bites were overly sugary and I wish I had been there to try the coconut flavor a few weeks ago. I'd definitely suggest you try at least one dessert so you can linger a bit longer after dinner and enjoy this place.

Yelp
I've heard so many great things about this place and it is literally a 10 minute walk from my friend's place in Minnesota. We Decided to try this place as it was recommended from a lot of our friends. I don't really know how I'd describe the food since it's Asian fusion. If you've ever been to JOEY DTLA or cactus club in Canada, you'll love this spot. There's a dish for everybody and you really can't go wrong with anything here whether you're craving seafood, meat, salads or hamburgers. I didn't really feel like anything stood out or maybe I'm just spoiled! Service here was amazing and the vibes here for the outdoor deck is really nice on a hot summer day.

Yelp
Edited to add - my friend ordered 2 Maker's Mark on the rocks. Receipt shows: 2 Maker's Mark (@$8/ea) $16 2 $Rocks $4 I didn't notice until later. Never seen a $2 charge for ice cubes at a bar.

Yelp
Ordered a selection of food on our evening dinner and we were disappointed in the food that was served. Staff were friendly and they had a nice outdoor and indoor dining area. The best dishes that stood out the most was the loco moco, coconut tres leche, and seared ahi salad. The use of the curry sauce instead of the gravy for the loco moco was very interesting and paired perfectly. The coconut tres leche was very moist and the dried coconut weren't too crunchy. The seared ahi salad just taste refreshing and guilt-free. Would highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
If you're looking for the perfect place to do a shared small plates moment, let me put you on to Lake & Irving. Not only is all of the food really, really good, but the staff is AMAZING. They always have great recommendations when I want to try something new, and are super attentive and quick to offer refills, etc. One of my favorite things about Lake & Irving is they do have a little parking lot off to the side of the building, so if you're lucky, you won't have to chance it with street parking (which, can end up being pretty scarce in Uptown at times). Onto the food: I've never actually had anything I didn't like here, but the holy grail is their poke nachos ($18). Fried wonton skin "chips" with ahi tuna, seaweed salad, pickled onions and jalapeños, eel sauce, and aioli. When my parents are in town, we have to order AT LEAST three of these for the table because of how obsessed they are. It's not a traditional poke preparation by any means, but it's the perfect fusion bar plate. If you try nothing else here, you HAVE to try the poke nachos. Also have to shout out the hot fries ($8). The first time I tried these, I naively didn't realize the fries themselves were going to be super spicy (thought it was just going to be the ghost pepper aioli) and I was (pleasantly) surprised the fries themselves pack QUITE the kick. The KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) ($13) is another favorite of mine. Perfectly balanced spicy and sweet flavors. And of course, Lake & Irving is a favorite of mine because of their Thursday night trivia with Kim! She's one of my favorite trivia hosts in the metro (and L&I is one of the few Trivia Mafia sites still on pencil and paper) so if you're looking for the perfect night out, go get some small plates and play some trivia--you won't regret it!

Yelp
I went here for dinner with my Nana during restaurant week. We went on a Wednesday evening; had a reservation at 6:00pm, which wasn't busy - I think it was perfect because it got busy shortly after. The place seems to be dog friendly. I saw 3 dogs on the patio. The food was delicious and fillling. I had the smoked ahi croquette, ahi tuna poke bowl, and chocolate creme brûlée with pearls. Nana had the summer salad, ginger scallion tofu, and guava custard beignets. The sauce to accompany the croquette was flavorful and not spicy. (I do not eat spicy). The ahi tuna poke bowl had a mild kick. The content in the bowl works well together. It was very filling. The creme brulee was delicious. It wasn't too sweet; just perfect. I had a bite of the guava custard beignet and it was also delicious. It had a warm strawberry jelly, which works well. I didn't drink any alcohol, but they had an extensive list. Otherwise, for sodas, they have Coke products. They also have sparkling if you don't like still water. Our server was quick and attentive. He checked on us every course. He was very friendly and professional. They do have parking, but it seems to be limited. We drove an SUV and had to maneuver carefully when it was time to go. (Also, when we arrived, there was plenty of parking available. By 7pm, it was full and I guess other customers park around the area.) Overall, great good food, good environment, casual attires, and friendly staff. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Lake & Irving is a quaint restaurant just off Lake Street. The inside is nice, modern, and even a tad cozy. Service was solid throughout the meal, although cocktails tended to take a bit long (but they were almost always worth the wait). The food really knocked it out of the park though. Starting with the KFC, which is Korean fried cauliflower with Gochujang. Great texture, flavor, and a real surprise honestly. Would recommend though if you're feeling a bit adventurous! Next we're two phenomenal sandwiches. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was top notch - great flavor, balance between the contents and crispy bread, and just an all around fantastic sandwich. Then came the Luxe Burger which might have been even better. This thing was a definite 5-star burger - up there with the best of the Twin Cities and one of the best I can remember ANYWHERE. To top it all off, the truffle fries with shallot aioli were amazing. As were the regular fries with harissa aioli. You really can't go wrong with either!

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch and were promptly seated. In spite of the road construction out front we were able to park across the street. Our server, Gerald, provided exceptional service. The Luxe Burger with bacon and foie gras butter was very juicy and tasty. The Poblano soup had a nice flavor but the cream poured on top made the soup cold. They also offer breakfast at lunch time and the Classic Eggs with Bacon was good. I wish they would have offered some of the sushi items at lunch.

Yelp
I sat at the bar during the evening midweek. It was kind of empty on the inside but the side patio had more people. I ordered the coconut shrimp, truffle fries and Thrilla in Vanilla. Drink was good, shrimp and fries were ok. Bartender was friendly and made sure I was taken care of. Only thing that was off putting to me was I asked for some aioli for my fries, which they provided. But the charged for it. It was only 50 cents but I just thought that was a bit strange and they didn't mention the charge.

Yelp
I met some friends for brunch. I love this location, and how close it is to lake Bde maka Ska. However, you should a lot some time to find parking. There were a couple of things on the menu that sounded interesting, and I went for the brisket hash because it was unique sounding. I loved the pickled red onions, they added a great acidity to the dish. The brisket cubes were a little tough and the potatoes didn't have any flavor, but it worked if you got a bit of everything in one bite. I got the Paloma to drink and it was delightful and looked so pretty!

Yelp
I had this place on my list for so long and I'm so glad I finally tried it! It was hard to choose because everything sounded so good, they have a creative and innovative menu. It had a lot of Japanese fusion items on the menu, which were fantastic. I did wish they would have had a vegetarian option for sushi rolls but the salad was absolute fire and I'm still craving it again. It's been a while since I've seen or had such a great and flavorful option as a vegetarian. The drinks were delicious as well, and we also loved the truffle and hot fries. The service was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was beautiful. I absolutely would return and highly recommend.

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was tasty food. Great atmosphere and a menu with lots to choose from. Parking in back too! I had the ghost bowl and it had kick so I had it on the side. Great mix of avo, pickled onions, egg, crispy potatoes etc. I may have to order again. Brussels sprouts got eaten so fast there's no photo! Eggs Benedict and an Asian slaw salad made our table amazing.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Uptown. Excellent menu, and even greater staff. Their Korean Fried Cauliflower has me truly in a chokehold, I have even started trying to replicate it on my own- it never can compare.

Yelp
You should NOT eat the Luxe Burger as it will ruin all other burgers for you. Make sure to try the other entree's first because once you get the Luxe Burger you won't ever want to eat anything else here. Unless you maybe come with friends and you all get different appetizers to share and you nibble on some things here and there. But when the server (I think his name is Joe) brings the Luxe Burger to your table you will immediately forget about the appetizers and become visibly aggressive as you eat the Luxe Burger and your taste buds savor every drop of the truffle sauce. Your eyes will widen and your heart rate will increase and you won't even care that they don't have ranch for your fries and when you scarf down the last bite you will wonder how you have survived without this burger. The outdoor patio is super cute.

Yelp
Lake and Irving is a really special gem in uptown. A subtly classy joint with folks coming in dressed to the nines, or casually from a stroll by the lake. You can tell the chef is passionate about world cuisine, incorporating contemporary American cuisine into pan-Asian styles. The meal was perfectly filling with enough room for dessert. Our server was FANTASTIC! The cadence of service is what others can only dream of. The attentiveness was spot on. Not too slow and not too rushed. The patio is wonderful for the summer and dog friendly!! Adding this to the list of local faves.

Yelp
The food at Lake & Irving is always delicious. From Hawaiian inspired to classic burger and fries, it's all delicious. Drinks are beautiful and hand crafted and they have a great beer list too. Patio and indoor seating. Our server was friendly and helpful. Whats this?! Free parking in uptown!! We were grateful they have a lot behind the restaurant. See you again soon!

Yelp
Fabulous for Sunday brunch, especially so sitting outside with my friend's "chick magnet" puppy! Beers to start and then breakfast. All too often, "chicken and waffles" is just a dry waffle and some dry chicken wings tossed on a plate. Not here at Lake & Irving where the Belgian waffle was light and fluffy. The chicken was crisp and moist. Presented well with some bacon crumbs and a little pot of maple syrup, it looked delicious. I had a Benedict which was served on toasted muffins and a side salad instead of potatoes because I'm still faking it on keto. Service was fabulous and the food was delicious. It was a great meal! Yelp
Yes a million times. Lake & Irving is one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities and is one of my go-to's in my home neighborhood of Uptown. I have been here so many times and everything I've ordered here has been incredible. I've had their Valentine's Day Tasting Menu which featured Steak and Calamari which were both great. My all time favorite here however is the Luxe burger. This might be the best fancy burger in the Twin Cities. It is a big juicy burger with cheese, Duroc bacon and foie gras butter. The foie gras butter interestingly gets shipped here right from my hometown area in New York which is pretty cool to me. For brunch, definitely get the chicken and waffles. Absolutely to die for. I love this place as I'm sure you can tell. It's all my uptown friends favorite place to go and it's completely understandable. Great place to meet friends, take the family, and go on a date.

Yelp
The ambience in this restaurant is very romantic. Dimly lit and not very loud, the feeling was very intimate. Service was great! The waiter was attentive and gave great food and drink recommendations. We came for the restaurant week menu and this is what we got: 1. Ahi Bombs: Sweet and savory, with a little kick from the Sriracha aioli. 4/5 2. Miso Kabocha Soup: Light flavour tending towards savory from the miso with the sweetness of the kabocha weaving in and out. 3.5/5 3. Kalbi Hanger Steak: tender hanger steak with sweet soy glaze over a bed if pureed kabocha and perfectly cooked bok choy. 6/5 4. Macnut Crusted Opakapaka: Crusted snapper over a bed of salad with soy mustard beurre blanc (huge portion!). 4/5 5. Maple Bourbon Pot de Creme: Light on sweetness but strong on maple flavoring 3/5 6. Tiramisa Semifredo: Looks weird but SO delicious. Lady fingers retain a bite to them despite being soaked in espresso. Semifreddo was perfect in texture and flavour. 4/5

Yelp
Wonderful amazing beautiful! My friend and I went here for drinks and appetizers before a concert in the area and we didn't want to leave! The food was amazing, our server was so kind and helpful with the drink menu. We ordered the truffle fries, Korean Fried Cauliflower, and poke nachos. All to die for. My favorite was the nachos and I plan to be back for them again!! Thank you Lake & Irving

Yelp
I was looking for a chicken sandwich to rival OMC Smokehouse's Tennessee Hot and this was recommended by local foodie Anthony Holznagel. My wife and I stopped here for an early supper and caught the restaurant between services so we were immediately seated by the host/waiter who was ending his shift. He quickly supplied us with water, menus, and our cocktails(Gimli and You do Yuzu) before passing us off to his replacement. We ordered the Luxe burger with bacon and the Buttermilk Chicken sandwich(with Ghost pepper aioli). Everything here from cocktails to food to service to ambiance was top notch...definitely worth return visits.

Yelp
Wow!! Lake & Irving near uptown/lake bde maka ska was amazing. I was so impressed with the staff and food, I will be back. FOOD: The KFC Cauliflower was addicting. They are crispy and tossed in gochujang. I also got the Mac and cheese bites which were okay. The chicken sandwich was HUGE! I see why it has been voted best in Minneapolis. STAFF: so friendly and helpful with making menu choices. PARKING: they have a small lot in the back. If full, street parking is around. I highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Restaurant Week!!! Our first time to L&I was for restaurant week for their set menu. We had a nice experience both with the food and service. First off, our server was excellent, he gave the perfect amount of attention. The starters: The Fried Calamari was just what I was craving. It also came with a few fried veggies and a classic aioli dip. The calamari were not chewy at all, however they were a tad salty, but when your having fried food who cares about salt. The Miso Corn Chowder was simply amazing, packed full of flavor, the only disappointment was the amount. The shell it was served on was so shallow it was almost flat. There was probably about two tablespoons of soup total. Very skimpy portion. The fried Mushrooms had a very nice breading on them, very flaky and light, served with a tasty dipping sauce. Entrees: I had the hanger steak. It had the perfect char on the outside with a medium cook, super tender and delicious. It was served with perfectly cooked fingerling potatoes and rainbow carrots that were sliced into strips, kind of like veggie fries. The entire entree was bathed in a red wine demi glaze. I paired the steak with a Surly Russian Stout, so good! My wife had the Char Siu Pork Loin. Lake and Irving did not mess around with portion size here. It was too much food compared to the portions of everything else. The mash and green beans it came with were so so. The two gigantic pork loins had a char glaze that was pretty tasty. Ultimately my wife wished she had ordered something else. Dessert: I decided to go with the Poached Pear Cheesecake. The pear slices on top of the cheesecake made every bite the perfect pairing. I paired cheese cake with an once pour of EH. Taylor rye whiskey, delicious! My friend ordered the Flourless Chocolate cake, very chocolaty, this would go nicely with Surly's Russian Stout.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Minneapolis and our server, Matt, was so welcoming and attentive throughout our entire meal. He went out of his way to make sure our experience was a pleasant one and that we enjoyed everything. We started off with the Nashville hot smoked wings & ghost pepper aioli - these had a really great and potent kick to them, were nice and crispy on the outside, and the ghost pepper aioli was a perfect spicy compliment. For entrees we had the cheeseburger and the Loco Moco. Cheeseburger was juicy, flavorful, and the cheese on top was delicious. We substituted the regular fries for spicy fries which was definitely a good call! Loco Moco was so tasty. We chose the ahi tuna which was perfectly seared but the true stars of the dish were the crispy coconut shrimp and coconut curry. All the flavors blended so well and the over easy egg on top was perfection. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Minneapolis!

Yelp
I wasn't sure how to rate this. I've been going here since they opened. I've spent years promoting them as arguably the best burger in town with the Luxe. My last trip there will be the final time I go however since they have completely destroyed the best burger in town with the oh so sad addition of unwanted fungus. If you want to completely alter the flavor profile of a local favorite, think long and hard. Better idea would be to leave the Luxe alone. You can always add the Luxe minus, now with fungus.

Yelp
The waitress was presumptuous and rude It was very wrong and my daughter and I couldn't even stay she was just not what you wanted to go out diner and have to pacify her mood

Yelp
Visited for the first time right before heading to Luminary Loppet. A bit busy on a Saturday evening but the services are fantastic. Great and practical recommendation as I wasn't hungry. Had a great time. Will come back to try other things on the menu!

Yelp
Lake & Irving is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Uptown. The food is always fantastic and the service impeccable. FOOD: The first few times I went here, I kept ordering the Luxe Burger - it's fantastic and easily one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Well worth the price point. At my last visit, I ordered the sesame crusted ahi and it was amazing - the sauce was perfectly spiced. AMBIANCE: The wood finish inside is upscale but approachable and cozy, and they have a side patio perfect for the summer and enjoying a cocktail (my favorite is the rose & mary) SERVICE: The servers here are consistently friendly and extremely helpful in answering questions and giving advice. PARKING: Street parking might be a little scarce on weekends, but isn't too bad.

Yelp
Great entrees,The coconut shrimp was a good appetizer. The patio was a great spot to hang and enjoy our meal. I'd definitely recommend this spot. Lastly we loved the cheesecake for dessert!

Yelp
Have been here multiple times, I think the atmosphere is great. Great for a date night, dinner/brunch or a large group gathering. They have a nice outdoor patio section too if the weather is nice. I got the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and it is super good, it is a heavy sandwich but very tasty. One of my favorite items here is the Korean style fried cauliflower. I always get this as an appetizer every time I go and would recommend it to anyone. Pretty standard prices for the uptown area, overall would come back again.

Yelp
Came here for date night. What a find! I am really mad at myself it took me over 2 years to come here despite living in the area. Got the salmon and my gf got the Moco Loco. Both were fantastic. My salmon was perfectly cooked. I had a bit of the moco loco and it was probably one of the best bites of food I have had in my life. Really. Server was great. Patio was equally great but really tough to beat how good the food is. I will be back .

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in the cities. Hands down. I've been here probably 25 times since I moved to Minnesota last year. Every time I have family or friends come to visit, I bring them to Lake & Irving! Their menu is so diverse and delicious, that everyone can find something they like. They have an amazing patio that is shaded for most of the evening. The service is always the greatest, and they have some of the nicest servers around. The food is to die for. There's a hint of Hawaiian and Asian influence in the menu, and there is almost always an amazing special that the head chef has come up with that day (lobster roll was a personal favorite!). I've tried most dishes here and there has yet to be one I haven't liked. My personal favorites are the Loco Moco and the luxe burger. Loco Moco is topped with their coconut shrimp and an amazing golden curry sauce. I've had it with both the beef and ahi tuna, and I'd recommend the ahi! The luxe burger is perhaps the best burger in the city. Super cheesy and delicious. They also have a great beer and cocktail menu, and most are reasonably priced too! If you like Lake & Irving, head down to Savage, MN too and try Pau Hana. It's owned by the same chef and has a similar but unique menu that is equally amazing.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about our experience at Lake & Irving. We were a little worried about parking but they had a lot in the back. The atmosphere is modern and intimate, with a great street view in front. We had Nate as our server who had great pacing with us, was very knowledgeable, and patient as it was our second time here in a number of years. The burger was as amazing as I remembered, honestly might be the best in the Twin Cities. For sides we got the Caesar salad and truffle fries, both were really good. I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for their next favorite burger spot.

Yelp
Great burger, great chicken sandwich, amazing Korean fried cauliflower & truffle fries. Make sure to try the harissa aioli and the ghost pepper aioli! This is our group's go to spot for birthdays since they can host 14 of us at a table in the back A few things to note: is pretty dim in the back at night for anyone who has a hard time seeing the menu in darker settings. They have a small parking lot in the back which is great for uptown. I also tried the yuzu cocktail and while it was yummy it's too similar to just a hard lemonade... it would be nice to see it spiced up a bit with creative ingredients or with better garnishes for presentation just so it doesn't feel like I'm paying $14 for an adult lemonade Overall great service and its a regular spot for us in uptown!

Yelp
Came by for drinks during the week with coworkers. Great summer patio vibes, we had a nice time. I usually really enjoy Brussel sprouts but can't say that was the case here, they were very fish oil heavy - stay away from that app unless you are a fish oil aficionado. That being said, the drinks were lovely and clearly created with care. Service was good, though we did have a hard time getting our checks at the end. I'd take a friend here in the future.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to eat prior to an event at the Granada Theatre and found Lake and Irving. It was great. I found on street parking right in front of the restaurant. For some reason my reservation hadn't gone through but no matter, we had a nice table in the front of the restaurant. The vibe of the atmosphere feels like an upscale brewery but the menu was more complex, with hints of Asian influences. I was waffling between 3 choices and after consulting with the server, I chose his recommendation of misoyaki salmon. It was delicious. It was served with broccolini and brown rice. I asked for my salmon to be cooked to medium and it had a nice char on the outer rims. The others in my party had hanger steak and chicken sandwich. All were enjoy with no leftovers. Our service was excellent. We had a lovely time.

Yelp
Went here for the first time the other night and it was hard to choose what to eat because everything sounded so good. We ended up having the Furikake Chicken, Hurricane Hanger Steak and Miso Salmon. The flavor on the chicken was very light however the steak and salmon were excellent. Nice ambiance, friendly staff and overall a great place to eat. We look forward to going back and trying other dishes.

Yelp
This is The Luxe burger at Lake and Irving in Uptown. Truffle fries on the side. It was a solid burger and worth a try if in the area, which we were after the Uptown Art Fair. I wouldn't rate it in my top 5 or anything. Maybe not top 10 either. And it's up their in price too. But I was certainly not disappointed. This one has foie gras butter in or on it. Can't say I noticed. But I'm not entirely sure what flavor to expect and look for with that anyway.

Yelp
So excited to be back in Uptown. It's been a couple years and let me tell you, it was buzzin w/good energy. So happy to find this neighborhood gem. We sat out on the patio at a table closest to the road. If noise of traffic bothers you ask for a table in the back (we were fine with it). The food was tasty and the presentation was great. We started with kfc (fried cauliflower) it was amazing!!! I had Asian slaw with Ahi (tasted good, slaw could of had more aioli for additional flavor but I did really enjoy it. Husband got loco moco, loved it. Our friend had the ribs. The wasabi potato salad was a bit too spicy for me but the guys loved it! We will be back for sure! Great service from Ben!

Yelp
Lake and Irving is a neighborhood favorite. I love their outdoor seating (so much I have never even ate inside). It's just busy enough to be lively, but isn't overly loud or crowded. Great for a warm summer or cool night as we enter fall (just bring a jacket). I love the chicken sandwich, but they only give you a half sandwich serving (which is honestly kind of a rip off), so I recommend saving some $ and splitting the burger with a friend instead. They have a decent amount of rotating taps, and some cocktails as well, so there is something to please everyone.

Yelp
I think I'm done with this place. Two times in a row, I show up and it's booked out to a private event. Are you a restaurant, or a social club? Pick one. Previous visits have varied from quite solid, to disappointing. Specific shortcomings include apathetic service, luke warm food and overpriced items. Seems to me to be in a steady decline.

Yelp
Food is incredible (and exceeds expectations) and employees are very kind. We love going here for their trivia Thursdays and all the other days too. Despite being a bar, the food is not only "bar quality" food-- it's far better. My favorite is their Luxe burger but you can't go wrong here. Every menu item is intentional and well-prepared. Sorry there's no photo on this one yet-- I ate it too fast ‍. But I'll be back soon and will add a photo.

Yelp
I actually really like this place. Went here for a quick meal after a walk around Bde Maka Ska. Got the miso caesar salad and had tofu as the protein, highly recommend, it was firm tofu and it was lightly breaded and fried. Even talking about it again makes me want it haha. Delish. I had also asked for light dressing which they did follow those instructions. Added had the roasted red pepper soup which was good, maybe a little overly creamy, but nontheless, very good. The service was fantastic and quick.. which is important especially since I was guzzling down my vodka club soda lemon limes. Will definitely return.

Yelp
They need more veggie options. Too meat based. Good quality but limited choices, and not cheap.

Yelp
I went to Lake and Irving on a typical muggy Minnesota summer day with an overcast sky. If it was a little more pleasant outside I would've opted for patio seating but the cool dark interior was more welcoming. My friend and I were seated promptly by a friendly hostess. Not long after we were greeted by our server who was also very attentive. The mood of this restaurant is casual but cool. A list of local beers in tap is posted in chalk on the wall. For an appetizer we ordered the KFC (Kentucky Fried Cauliflower) which resembled boneless Buffalo wings and actually had a similar crisp texture on the outside. The sauce is sweet, and savory with hints of Dijon, and would definitely recommend. My friend ordered the cheeseburger with hot pepper fries and I ordered the chicken sandwich for entrées. Apparently the ghost pepper fries have a kick my friend wasn't expecting as he coughed down his first bite. My chicken sandwich was loaded with pepper jack, a well seasoned tenderized fried chicken breast, bacon and yum yum sauce on sourdough. The sauce was an interesting choice but the flavors worked well together. Overall, I had a great first impression and will be happy to pay another visit!

Yelp
Over 7 years ago I was living in Uptown and walked into a brand new restaurant and the server suggested the chicken sandwich. The rest is history. This may very well be my fave restaurant in the Twin Cities and since opening Chef Chris Ikeda has been knocking it outta the park with elevated American classics using worldly cooking techniques. Everything on the menu is spectacular and their craft cocktail game is superb. There is, however, one item that even after trying countless others is still my #1. This trip I also enjoyed a burger that is now in my top 5! What we ordered: Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich ~ duroc bacon, cady creek farms pepperjack, sriracha aioli, la brea sourdough. **pro tip: always get a side of their ghost pepper aioli on the side for your fries. House pickles on the side and you better throw those bad boys on their too. This chicken sammie is just straight up where's it at! I'm usually apt to try something new when we go, but will still order this sammie anyway and take some home if needs be -- it slaps that hard!** Luxe Burger ~ double pat la frieda beef patties, cheese, black truffle & hudson valley foie gras butter, & secret sauce on a brioche bun. **I could gush all day long about how delicious this burger is. It is exactly its namesake. Luxurious and elevated yet unpretentious and reasonable. Any one more ingredient added or one taken away would ruin it. It's simply on fleek (is that still a popular slang term?). And comparable to other burgers at its price point, with this including fries or side salad, it wins out in my book.**

Yelp
Brunch visit last weekend at Lake & Irving. It was my first time there for Brunch and was very impressed with the menu. Stop by if you're in the Uptown area! * Brisket Hash- smoked beef brisket, breakfast potatoes, roasted red peppers, caramelized onion, vat 17 white cheddar, eggs, pickled red onion, and microgreens. * Coconut Shrimp. * Weekly Rotating Waffle- Strawberry & Chocolate Waffles.
