A Thursday seasonal market known for family-friendly programming and robust food-access support. Cited by Axios in 2025 among returning neighborhood markets, it’s where North End residents stock up and linger for community activities.

This is a great farmers market. We go every Thursday and enjoy the lovely display of fresh fruit and vegetables. A couple of bakeries show up too !

This market itself is kind of small but the options they do have are really good! Got some really good cider and fresh fruits. All the people working the stands are very friendly as well

Do Not Obey In Advance

I have been a long time fan of farmer's markets, having patronized them in 3 states and 2 countries... but i have to say i never go to this one any more even though it's a few blocks from my house. There's just a bad vibe to it.. I don't feel like lingering. Lines for many stalls are very long and it's very crowded to even look at the stuff. Many of the vendors are not friendly and don't want to talk to you about their produce. People seem stressed and not relaxed. There is rarely any live entertainment though props to the person always offering kids activities. Also while it's nice to have food trucks, many have no connection to local food and are loud and polluting with their generators. The prices are high for a low income area and even though I have SNAP match AND Fresh Bucks, it's still unaffordable and honestly not that much better than a supermarket. When I lived in Portland, both Lents and King farmers markets had prices in line with the socio-economic realities of the surrounding areas, and I still have fond memories of both, though I haven't lived there in over a decade.

This place is a block from our home and I absolutely love it! Every THURSDAY from 3-7 I believe. The freshest veggies and fruits. Kids love going. We took grandma to it this last Thursday to check it out and she loved it. There was one kiosk w/ a lady their that was not so sweet to the kids, but other than that, it’s a kid friendly place where they always have something going on for the kids, making cucumber cars, coloring, and tons more arts and crafts every week.

Google
Great farmers market option, lots of wine and cider tastings, and a decent selection of food. Note that 28th st is blocked off so plan driving/parking accordingly. There was only one flower vendor when I was there (Blongs, I think?). Very kid and family friendly relative to some other markets - there is a park area off to the side.

EBT accepted + double cash vouchers for produce! Spent $10 of my food stamps and got an extra $10 for fruits & veggies! Buy berries, fruits, vegetables, wine, meat, gourmet cheese, & more. Ethnic food vendors too, bring a shopping bag ;)

Yelp
I ordered gift certificates online to give a friend who is moving to the area. Thank you for making this an option. I would love to try it out sometime.

Yelp
Flavorful strawberries fresh from the farm (the booth near the south entrance says Mt. Vernon on it, don't remember farm name) is all you need to know. There is no comparison with what you buy in the store. We also buy veggies and pastries and everything has been good. I'm planning to get meat next time. This isn't the biggest market, but that's fine with me. If you want to spend hours perusing booths, you can pass this one by.

Yelp
Stopped by today and this market is small, but had a good variety of things to choose from. I saw berries, fresh flowers, roasted nuts, cheese, bread, pastries (european and german), fresh produce, eggs, meats, a coffee stand, a snack stand offering quesadillas and tamales, and a couple other things I can't name off the top of my head. Price wise, as other reviewers have mentioned, it is a tad pricey. We took a look around and the cheapest berries were 2 for $6 (which is fairly cheap), but when we ate them, many of them weren't the best quality. Otherwise, it's a nice little spot to check out, but as far as buying produce and fruit here, I would probably head to the local fresh produce market instead. Most stands here are cash only, which kinda of sucks for those who don't carry around cash or don't bank at BOA (there's one next door). They did have a good selection of various breads and pastries which were reasonably priced and that I want to try out next time. Another plus, everyone is friendly here. Also, I didn't realize this before we walked into the market, but if you drive in pass the "local access only" sign on the north end, you can actually park in the garage of the Lake city public library while shopping.

Yelp
It's a small one compared to Ballard, but they still have a great selection. Lots of food options and the people selling their produce are always so friendly. I love coming here.

Yelp
When we first moved here, I was at this Farmer's Market almost every week. It was within walking distance of a friend's house, and it made the perfect excuse to get together. It has a nice family vibe to it, and the salmon guys rock! My friend would loyally buy cheese curds here, and the flowers were always amazing. I also bought great fruit here - both dried and fresh. On the downside, my mother once bought what she called "the most goddamned expensive tomato I've ever bought in my LIFE" here (oh yeah, did I mention that she said that in a loud voice while we were still at the market?) Most things are pricey but you get what you pay for (it was a good tomato but our homegrown ones - now that we've been here a year - are much better). I would still say head on down if you get the chance!

Yelp
This was the first farmer's market I have attended since moving back from California. It seems like a huge rip off quite frankly. I always thought farmers markets were a place farmers and other vendors could have a low overhead so as to make it a good value for everyone. Are the people who organize the event charging the vendors too much or what? Half the vendors were very friendly the other half not so much. We spent almost 50 dollars and had little to show for it. I like supporting local farmers and vendors but Trader joes is a better value for me in this economy.

Yelp
I've went twice to the LC Farmers Market and as much as I wanted to like it, I found that it was really difficult to strettttch my $20 that I had allotted for fresh local produce. Hoping to snag ample fresh veggies and fruits, I kind of grimaced when all my $20 bought me was 1 bag of produce. I kind of felt jipped. Produce was okay and I love supporting local farmers. However, I was disappointed that a pint of strawberries were $4.50 and they started to wilt about a day after purchase.

Yelp
I'm really not a fan of this farmers market. Not a lot of varieties of food to choose from.

Yelp
The Lake City Farmers Market was one of the best things about living in that neighborhood. I've moved south now (thank goodness!), but I'll still stop by on Thursdays if I'm nearby (especially if I've missed the Columbia City one the day before). The market is open from 3-7. This is one of the smaller neighborhood markets in Seattle: just a single "L" of stands. The dead-end can make for a bit of crowding. There aren't a lot of extras, like the live music or the cooking demonstrations. But they've got all the basics: a variety of produce, the juice (and cute juice girl), the flowers, the wine that I wish we could sample, some eggs and cheese and meat, and the adorable neighborhood hippie families out in force. Parking can be a problem, but I usually hike over from the QFC or Fred Meyer, where I pay my space rental by buying something non-seasonal, non-local and non-organic. You know, for balance.

Yelp
The perfect place to grab a delicious bite to eat and stock up on some incredible ice wines. They have everything from fresh fruits, delicious pesto mozzarella, fruity ice wines and raw honey. I'll be here every Thursday! And next time trying the Ethiopian food !

Yelp
I went last Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. I am from California and thought the prices were fine. It is a little on the small side which is nice since I wasn't elbow to elbow with folk. I don't come to these to save money - and I'm surprised that people do. I come here to get high quality goods from local vendors. I am always happy to pay a little extra for quality. I bought eggs from the TMT farms guy and was very pleased. The duck eggs made for a luxurious scramble and the chicken eggs tasted fresh and delicious. I also bought two beautiful bouquets for my Mrs which were arranged wonderfully. If I had more time I would have focused on the produce and probably will come back next week. There was also an interesting Afghani food stand there that smelled delicious but I wasn't hungry. Parking was easy.

Yelp
Lake City's farmers market on Thursdays in the summer. A little smaller then some of the other markets. I usually head straight for the honey stand. Then wounder around and pick up what I need.

Yelp
These posts about the Lake City Farmer's Market need to be updated. Much has changed about the market this year. For starters it is no longer in the parking lot behind the fire station. It has moved to Albert Davis Park and along the street in front of the library. The old market was definitely second class (compared to some of the other neighborhood markets). But the new location and a new vibe at the Lake City market have moved it on par with others and past some. There is grass for the kids to play on, a playground, live music, demonstrations, yummy ice cream and of course what you go to a farmer's market for, fresh produce. In fact there seem to be more vendors than there were at the old parking lot site. The market is well laid out (except for the live music tent) and the crowds are not too big. But being that this is Lake City, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Seattle, the people watching is great. The hours are convenient, 3-7 p.m., and parking is in the garage under the library or on the street.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood next to this market and I love it! I think it is a much more pleasant shopping experience than the bigger more crowded markets like the U District market. It has really been cultivating a lot of new activities as well as interesting vendor choices over the last couple of years. I like it being next to the library and always having something to do for when I bring the god-children. I get stunning flowers there that I still have by the next week when I buy new ones! We eat amazing tomatoes starting from the first day of the market (I LOVE Kittitas Valley Greenhouse). There is squeaky cheese and olive bread and Cle and her ice cream is the very fattening best. My only problem is a tendency to buy more veggies than we can eat. I strongly recommend people check out this market. It is the best!

Yelp
One of the best things about this market is the timing. Held on Thursdays from 3 to 7, it's so easy to swing by after work for fresh produce for dinner. The earlier you go the harder it is to find parking near, but the walk is worth it when you make it to the stalls. Plenty of choices and good fresh produce.

Yelp
Does not have the selection you would find at the U District, W Seattle or Ballard farmers markets, but good selection none-the-less. Nice to have it so close to home and I wish it was year round since I can generally make it over on Thursdays. I have a hard time spending as much on produce as it costs here but its nice to have a place to buy product directly from the farm, and some things are a great deal at the market (like fresh basil).

Yelp
I LOVE this market! Such a sweet surprise. It's location is great - plenty of parking - not too crowded. Fun music and a place for kids to play - tucked away at the end. Great vendors - yummmmmmmy food. The Olive Bread that looks like an octopus (kind of) is to die for. I'm most grateful to live near - made the move to LC purely palatable.

Yelp
One of the best places to bring kids on a warm summer day!! With tons of fresh berries/fruit, ice cream, kid-yummy prepared foods, live music, activities for kids (often), etc. it's a wonderful place to have a picnic dinner. It's at the library/neighborhood service center now, and there's a big field for kids to run and a play structure as well. (We also do all of our library stuff on Thursdays now.) No need to worry about kids running into traffic or finding parking (you can park under the library). Also, people who use the WIC and Seniors Farmers Mkt. nutrition programs can pick up their coupons on-site. Because of these and so many other things, this is our family's favorite farmers market in the area.
