Where to Eat, Stay, and Visit in England's Lake District

"Three and a half hours by train from London, Lake District National Park is known for having some of England's most beautiful walking and cycling routes. In summer, the air is warm with honeysuckle, the vales flushed with green. With one of the country's lowest levels of light pollution, the park is perfect for stargazing." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We had an amazing family trip to the Lake District National Park! The hiking trails were beautiful, with stunning views at every turn. There were plenty of routes suitable for all ages, and the kids really enjoyed being outdoors. The landscapes are incredible mountains, lakes, and peaceful countryside everywhere. It’s a perfect place for a family adventure, and we’re already looking forward to visiting again!

Every part of it was stunning. Beautiful Mountain Views, lakes, ancient standing stones, waterfalls, and several castles to visit. Stayed for a few days and it did not disappoint. There was a lot to see and many attractions don’t cost anything. There’s also a nearby RAF base and we saw several fighter jets fly over during our stay.

A beautiful place to calm your mind and be in tune with nature. A drive through this place is enough to feel inner peace. The lake is so large and has many activities for families to enjoy their time.

A long drive from Manchester but the scenery is beautiful and amazing. Car park is not free though and the phone payment is absolutely trash. You will be better odd if you are a national park member.

I went here with my granddaughter and her girlfriend as they had never visited before. I knew how stunning this place is but they didn’t. They were blown away by the scenery. We were also lucky enough to see a a low flying jet plane doing manoeuvres as we were driving. Of course we had to find a place to stop so we could watch it. That made the day for the girls.

This place has to be seen to be believed!! No photos will do it justice! There are some wonderful walking trails and even though on our trip we didn't have the BEST weather we couldn't deny that this place is so well looked after, preserved and loved. Can't wait so much to explore more on our next trip! 💕

If you are looking for a scenic walk try the Coffin route. Bus 599 , get off at Rydal . The views are great ! The hardest part of the journey is walking up the long steep lane to get to the start. You can park on the lane but you need to get there early to find a spot.
