Decided to stop in here after driving by and being curious for years! Glad we did, this will be a new weekly date night spot for a nice meal. My gripes are minor. Booth was cozy, food was delicious. We got the bruschetta buratta, steak salad, and prime rib sandwich. The bruschetta exceeded my expectations for a place that isn’t Italian. The sandwich had a lot of beef and the fries had that fresh cut flavor without being limp - the only disappointing thing was the au jus, it was so salty I couldn’t eat it and I’m a person who loves my salt. My partner loved the steak salad. For two drinks, an appetizer, and 2 entrees we ended up paying $118 with tip, so not cheap but the food was good quality and we had a good time. If it’s cold out I suggest bringing a sweater or something because it’s a little drafty. Our waiter was really busy and refills took some time.

Lilly and Jhon were very exquisite going above and beyond with goddess advice... and recommendations... corn chowder and house salad with the vegan lettuce cups a 10 of 10 with two thumbs up Very clean bathrooms 🚻

The Classic BLT was excellent! The lettuce, tomato, and avocado were very fresh and abundant. The bacon and fries cooked perfectly. Bread toasted and seasoned well. The service was great too! It was an enjoyable lunch on the patio.

Came here on a Tuesday evening and it wasn’t very busy but it took a while before I was seated, but I’m guessing I just arrived when a couple other groups arrived and orders were leaving the kitchen. Service was prompt and they were diligent about checking in with us and getting our drink and food orders quickly. The wine I got was okay, it was full body but I was surprised I didn’t get a tasting first before the full pour. I ordered the winter gnocchi with grilled chicken and it was really good! Kind of rich for me so I had to take about half home which didn’t reheat too well because the sauce broke but still tasted good. Atmosphere was alright, it was dim like a nicer restaurant but had sports on the TV’s which is fine but would have preferred different ambiance in that case which is what brings my rating down a little bit

We had an incredible experience here with Lily G. We came in on a Saturday around noon and she was doing everything! Running the food, answering the phones, taking tables all over the bar and restaurant, etc. (with a giant smile on her face). They also have great vegan options like a vegan chicken patty, impossible, and lettuce cups, which was refreshing. My husband got the burger and it was on of the best he’s ever had. The atmosphere is so cute, chic diner. Our first time here and we will definitely be back! (especially for Lily on the days she works ;)

Google
just ate their elk burger....yummy...then read the dumb reviews by the people who haven't a clue. Restaurants are the absolute toughest business known to mankind...and a restaurant that cares enough to read reviews, respond to them and then offer a free meal when it wasn't even required....FABULOUS! our meal was great, the service even better...try it...you WILL like it.

Google
⭐️⭐️: Wouldn’t recommend going here. Food: Dessert was too sickly sweet with a bad consistency Service: Our server was kind and attentive. Atmosphere: It took 5-minutes for the hostess to come to the front even though they acknowledged us several times after we walked in. And then…she walked us halfway to our table, handed the menus as we were still walking and then pointed to where we were supposed to go…instead of what I would consider basic hostess’s of bringing us to our table first and then handing us the menus. It may be small but it left an impression that they couldn’t and wouldn’t be bothered by us.

Google
Food was pretty good, and portions were larger than they appeared. Prices were very high, however (28-40$ per person, 10-20$ for each drink) and service was only okay. For the price of the food, I'd definitely go elsewhere

Yelp
I came into my local eatery after a nice cleanup remodel to try their new salmon recipe. I have complained before about their previous salmon dinner that had a glaze on it (looked and tasted like corn syrup). However, this dinner was delicious and the fish was rare as ordered with a nice sauce with capers etc. something I will definitely be ordering again. Well done folks...Bruce Macdonald

Yelp
So unfortunate. We used to love this place and came all the time. Last time we came was about a year ago and what we noticed was a huge price increase and a tiny menu with most of our favorite items gone. What we ordered was far from our usual experience, quality wise. We didn't come back. Fast forward to today, we decided to come back because I noticed they're on Passport and we missed the Mac and cheese balls. The Mac and cheese balls were good as always and the staff is the same, they're nice. The rest of our experience wasn't great. Menu is even tinier - no Mac and cheese at all. My son thought the fish and chips were pretty bad and the shrimp and grits, which I have loved in the past was awful. So many ingredients added that didn't need to be there. We won't be back - even with the buy one get one fee from Passport. It's just not worth it at all.

Yelp
Visited yesterday and discovered they are adding a 5% Cost of Living surcharge on the bill. Then the machine asked for a gratuity and begins at 25%. This tipping culture is getting out of hand. Additionally the pricing has increased too. Thus restaurant is losing my business.! BTW... All of the staff are very friendly and provide great service.

Yelp
Went there last night, for the steak medium rare and the blackened chicken Alfredo. My steak was burnt on the outside and red on the inside and left the worse taste in my mouth. The Alfredo was so spicy not just the chicken. We asked for a non spicy sauce but they gave us the same sauce and charged us six bucks for it! The staff is clueless about the menu and it was a terrible and expensive experience. Do yourself a favor and eat ANYWHERE else. To make is worse we got a burger to go and the bun was so soggy it broke through when you picked up the burger.

Yelp
The food was ok and the staff was nice. I would go again if I was urged to by others but I don't think I would go back of my own accord.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful service with hardworking waitress who was taking care of what felt like the entire place and doing it with no complaints. Unfortunately that does not erase the fact that the food has taken a huge nose dive. I could not reccomend this place.
google avatar

Noah G.

Yelp
The burgers were good 1/100 of the time, the only good thing on the menu is the cobbler, and I think that since other reviews are nasty they probably ruined the thing anyway, the food takes too long to get out, I could bring out a some cheddar and dry macaroni in THAT amount of time and it would be better than their Mac and cheese. ALSO ITS TOO EXPENSIVE, I honestly don't know why people still go there

Yelp
The worst. Frozen potatoes. Hideous 'mushroom bisque ', which was a congealed blob out of a box. Nauseating. Very slow, inept service, we sat and waited while those around us, who arrived later, were served. Extremely slow . Waited over 40 minutes for soup and omelette. Waited 20 minutes for a coffee refill. unacceptable. Mediocre food. Really nervy of these owners to serve up frozen 'country potato ' cubes. Inedible. Really crap move. On top of this, they slap on a 3.75 surcharge. The way we figure the only ones who come here are the already in the bag daydrinkers who don't notice, don't care, or who know no quality . Who knows. Not for us ... Never again!

Yelp
Ok, so I'm happy to provide a great review on this business after two previously negative experiences. Today I walked in to an immaculate bar and was greeted by a very pleasant bartender within 30 seconds. Beer in hand within a minute! Bar dining area nearly full and people were being professionally served. Great job . This was an entirely different experience and one I'm happy to report.

Yelp
Hands down the best happy hour in the area Kenmore/Kirkland/Bothell. The beers are like $4 and they have a great selection of rotating taps (Mannys and more). The outdoor dining area is really tranquil and spacious. The staff is always super welcoming and friendly, and they have a cute kids menu that doubles as a hidden picture hunt that's guaranteed to occupy your little one for a few minutes! Pros Best happy food and prices Tons of parking Good for kids Warm service Cons None! Check it out post haste!

Yelp
This is my local restaurant hangout for our neighborhood. It has that '60-80s road side diner vibe that takes me back to my childhood. If you have been to LA, you know about Norm's, and that's kind of the vibe this place has inside. They have a nice outdoor seating area with sectionals and fire pits in the back. During the NFL season, they have a special menu for the 12s with lower cost items. There are plenty of screens and it has become more of a sports bar with a hint of mid century modern. The drinks here are good. The huckleberry cosmo is great. We had a "Zelenski-rita" at one point to donate to Ukraine. Service is always friendly and attentive. Our last visit was for dinner and the price increases on the menu were shocking. I did not see the chicken club, my favorite, on the dinner menu. I did order a french dip that was served on a scaled down round bun instead of a hoagie. Not a lot of food for $25. My wife had the tuna bowl which was also relatively small portion for the price. Both were OK but rather small. The portions don't align well with the diner theme or the menu pricing. I get scaling back the protein due to inflation, but why not add some slaw or double the portion of fries so that the plate still feels substantial? Why not throw a couple of fried onion rings on there as a garnish? It just looks skimpy on the plate for the price and the diner vibe. There are no lake views here. It is a nice diner, nothing more, nothing less. If it's not affordable or substantial, it's missing the mark. The normally comfortable booth seats have unexpectedly eliminated the back bolster cushion so it is now hard flat plywood. I do not understand this decision. I didn't really notice the seats in a state of disrepair previously. I definitely notice the lack of comfort from the interior "refresh." I do like the orange mid century loveseats in the entry with bolstered backs, but it was so cold in that area that you could not sit comfortably while waiting for a table. If the owner is reading this, I hope I have been fair in my assessment. We want this place to succeed. We will probably start going more during happy hour or for lunch as the dinner menu is not worth it to us. I would also like to see the current menu on your Facebook page or link to a website from the Yelp review page.

Yelp
Dangerous error by server. I ordered a cranberry mimosa and orange crush for my young son. She brought a drink and said here's the orange. Since it wasn't red I didn't question her placing by my son. She came back and said that's alcohol and moved it. Fortunately my son hadn't drank it. I never got my cranberry drink.

Yelp
What gives with Lake Forest Bar & Grill? Since my original (favorable) review there seems to have been substantial changes! The food and service have been questioned as to value and worth. The service has also been criticized. Not much has been said to update the ambiance. Does one of my favorite dining establishments need to be scratched off the list? Or does the dining establishment need to revaluate what is happening to their business? I want to return with my family, as this has been a hit in our past. Currently, it is a chancy risk. Will wait for improved reviews from fellow Yelpers. Please, Lake Forest Bar & Grill, bring back your former glory, so reviewers can share their supberb dining experiences with the rest of us.

Yelp
This is a casual restaurant, I have frequented at least 10 times. I think the bonus are, they are open for seating just about anytime you walk in, the food arrives promptly, they have an outdoor patio that is nice. Plus, they have great vegetable side dishes and have my favorite offering, soup. As you walk in, you notice the large bar area. This seems to be a favorite with regulars. The service here is good, they make an effort to bring your food items promptly and check in to see if you need anything during your meal. The food items have ranged from mediocre to really good. The salad featuring golden beets is excellent. The tomato basil soup is tasty. The coconut shrimp is a great way to start, with a Thai chili sauce dip. The sandwiches are good. And while the steaks are not tender, they are flavorful. One aspect of this place, is that they encourage lingering. I have been here with my loved ones and it is nice to have a place where you can leisurely order drinks and appetizers, without feeling rushed. The comfortable booths and laid back service makes you feel positive about spending time here. Was here this week for happy hour. Great service. However, the happy hour burger was very overdone and dry. Creative cocktails, including a huckleberry one my daughter was eager to try. The experience is like going to a friend's house. Sometimes the food and experience is great; other times they have an off day. One of my favorite experience, is coming here and sitting in their outdoor patio, enjoying drinks and appetizers during warm summer months. overall, I recommend coming here with lower expectations and know they offer basic level food offerings.

Yelp
My 2 friends and I were completely ignored and not even sat! The other day myself and 2 others walked in the front doors and stand by the host booth where the sign asks you to stand here and wait to be seated. The place was moderately busy, not empty and not packed. We stood for about 3-4 minutes and noticed no one came to seat or greet us. Mind you, we're watching employees (2 ladies, one in a green shirt) in the back chatting. No worries, we aren't that impatient and surely they'll be out any minute. A few more minutes go by and still no one approaches. At this point we have yelled from the front, tried waving and I even stood directly inside the host booth hoping it would catch anyone's attention. Nothing. More minutes pass. Now the customers in the dining room are all watching us as we've been hanging out for quite a while. The 2 women in the back are directly in our line of sight and not far. We try a few more hollers and after continuing to be blatantly ignored we decided to leave which is unfortunate as we drove 30 min to get there. Won't be back to try the overpriced food.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant a number of times in the last couple years, and overall I've had very positive experiences. Occasionally, they have been shorthanded and it's taken a while to get our order. Food-wise everything is always very good. I had their steak salad one time and it was seriously delicious! Lots of bits of blue cheese, yummy! I've been for brunch several times and whether it's eggs Benedict or something else, everything's been delicious. Including the mimosas, LOL!! It's part of a retail complex and there's a large parking lot; I have never had any problem with parking. That's kind of nice, coming from someone who lives in Seattle and has to consider parking when deciding where to dine. - And I have to give the restaurant KUDOS for their Mother's Day "Mother's eat free" deal. I went with a friend, and we just assumed it meant one free meal per table. Nope! We BOTH ate for FREE, which we were astounded at! (Needless to say, we left a very big tip for our waitress, who despite being very busy, took great care of us.) - Thank you Lake Forest Bar and Grill!!!

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've had in a long time and good service. A bit pricey but they have discounts if you sign up as members so we got 25 percent off. Huge portions and good service for us

Yelp
Not much to say about this place. Nice server/service, but the food just wasn't very good. Menu read like the fish and chips were prepared fresh; pretty sure they were frozen. Unoffensive. The meatloaf was just bad. I'm not usually a sauce/glaze person, but the mustard treatment on this took my aversion to the next level. We were there midweek after the dinner hour - maybe 8 or so. The place was very quiet.
google avatar

Abby C.

Yelp
The food was very good. Drinks were good but a little on the pricey side. Friendly staff in a very chill environment. The menu was really small, not sure I'd come back because of lack of options.

Yelp
This is my second time here with my wife. Our first time was two or three years ago. This place is a bit of a diner, a bit of a pub. The atmosphere is mediocre. The layout of the restaurant is just odd, even though it is nicely furnished. Unfortunately the hanging light above my table (and all the tables are the same) has no shade over the bulb, and the light shone directly into my eyes. However, the food is great. On our second visit we shared a steak salad which was large enough for us, and quite tasty. If necessary I can always grab a snack later, eh? Our waitress didn't have time to listen when my wife needed some more blue cheese crumbles, and brought us dressing insted. Is she overworked? I don't know.

Yelp
Mac balls was delicious and the drinks are fairly priced. Ordered the prime rib and must have sat over the heat lamp for a while considering I ordered it medium rare and came out super well done. Overall the environment food and service was good.

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Server was excellent! I luv the atmosphere I ordered fish and chips one piece was over cooked and to my surprise without having to ask they brought me another piece It's a great place to go
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
Pretty weak given that you expected more; I really think given the location and the general quality of food found in the Seattle area that it should be a source of good food and drinks. Drinks are ok, but the food is distinctly mediocre. Not terrible and certainly edible but just such a missed opportunity.

Kahn M.

Yelp
this place is egregiously overpriced for Ihop quality food. Service is fine but it's a terrible waste of money

Steve P.

Yelp
Great place to bring the family. Nice variety of choices for vegetarians and meat lovers. Andra provided wonderful service for our group of six. Nice atmosphere at reasonable prices. Give it a try and you'll put this on your list of regular dining spots.
google avatar

Marlee K.

Yelp
This is my second visit in the last two weeks and both times the food was good. Especially liked the steak salad with blue cheese. The outside patio is very pleasant, away from street noise, and lots of lovely plants. The best part though is the service. Our waitress was friendly and right on top of bringing things. She was just great!!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars because our service was good but the food was horrible especially for the price. No better than something at Applebees The mushroom soup tasted straight out of a Campbell soup. The salad was grocery store goat cheese, beets from the can, cheap chicken and dry greens. The roasted chicken was rubbery and not browned enough and the risotto was swimming in cream. We live in the neighborhood and had been curious, won't ever go here again.
google avatar

Deborah N.

Yelp
Disappointed at last visit. First few visits the food was good. This last time the food was not so great. Service also lacked. Server asked me if everything was okay and I requested more blue cheese. She stated blue cheese dressing as she turned and walked away, not even giving me a chance to say, no. I wasn't about to yell at her backside. Ambiance ok. 2 1/2 stars. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Jd T.

Yelp
Took close to 10 minutes to be noticed at an empty bar. The beer menu was wrong. Ordered a cod taco and got pulled pork even though my order was shouted back at me. Constant attention was given to the only other customers at the bar, while I sat with an empty glass for another nearly 10 minutes. The only thing that went right was the food order (once they fixed the protein) and the cold beer. I won't be coming back.

Patricia P.

Yelp
My husband, daughter and I had dinner at this restaurant a couple of evenings ago. The meatloaf dinner wasn't bad, my fried chicken wasn't bad either, however, the autumn salad sounded delicious but at $28.00, my daughter ate one half of the serving. It contained lettuce/romaine, some minute portions of butter nut squash and not so great salad dressing. Perhaps, at that price, we can upgrade to mix greens? I get it! Cost, cost cost, but we consumers are so tired of the upgrade in $$ but the quality dwindles. In Europe, mix greens are always served, not lettuce or romaine for that matter. Disappointed, but will try their breakfast menu next time. Btw, the service was great, a little short staffed sometimes.

Brian E.

Yelp
I ordered the prime rib medium and it came out extremely well done... brown and leathery. Server said something about it being a little too dark to see how off it was when he grabbed it. They took off $10 and I ate it because I hate to waste food but I really should have refused it. It killed what might have become a prime rib habit. I also don't recommend their mixed drinks. The more things I try here, the fewer I want to reorder.

Molly H.

Yelp
I have been going here consistently every week for years for work and personal meetings. The food is good and consistent, the servers and owner are absolutely fabulous! Also, I just had their new elk burger... I am from Montana and know elk. This was one of the best elk burgers I've had! Love, love, love them.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Great place to frequent for any meal. Enjoy coming every time I visit Seattle
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
My server was not all that friendly. It may seem like she was for a second, but she seemed more irritated most of the time. Checked up on us maybe once. Was friendlier when she gave us the check to put for our food. Brunch food were okay. Just simple breakfast like every other place. Cant go wrong with breakfast. Until 11am daily they have a breakfast deal for $9.99 that came with free coffee. (Only meals with the acrobat next to it.) They also had $4 mimosas until 2pm. Overall, I wouldn't visit this place again.

Cindy C.

Yelp
I will never go here again. The food is just okay, but the server who always wears a mask was horrible.

Ronald S.

Yelp
I had been there before but not as good this time. We arrived late afternoon and the restaurant was not so busy. The bartender seated and took us order. He got busy later at the bar, and never came back to check on us at all. We would looking for some more items but no one came by. At the end, we had to go to the front desk to ask for to go container and check The young man at the front desk brought us the container.. The Bartender dashed by with said what our bill was and he said that is a good price. I usually give a better tip but due to the lack of service or lack of attention to us did not deserve such a tip. I asked a printed receipt which was not brought. I thought the food was OK but not as good as the time before. My son has baked Bolognese. He said there was hardly any meat, and with the noodles and cheese, it all clung together like a big lump. I had the NY steak was OK. The two ends were quite grizzly and hard to chew and my son mentioned that first. The asparagus was OK-thin and hard to slice. The best part that my son and I liked was the fingerling potatoes with cheese.

Mark B.

Yelp
An easy, relaxed atmosphere. The menu has changed a bit since the pandemic but a good place

Gabe R.

Yelp
This would be a 5-star review, but they have a misleading promo and I ended up spending $87 instead of $47. The food was phenomenal, especially at the price point. Very unique mac and cheese balls with Thai chili sauce which was to die for; I also had the 3 pig mac and cheese which was heavenly and again very unique. The service was nice enough and VERY fast. The problem is that this promo says buy $50 and get $10. My thought was that if I bought this before I paid for my meal, I could then redeem it for this meal, because there is no time restriction in the promo. This is not the case, it is only for future purchases (in other words, it must say "buy a $50 gift card for later, get $10 off today" as opposed to the photo I am posting). When pointing this out to the waiter, that the promo says nothing about a restriction on time such as it not being able to be used today, she said "that is just the way we do things here." As a result of the misleading promo and no effort to accommodate what is said in the advertisement, I cannot recommend this place to anybody. I need to note this is also potentially legally disallowed. This is a shame because it is otherwise a very nice place.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
The service was great - the food was ok but not great. The restaurant was too dark the lighting could have been brighter, my mother had a hard time reading the menu due to the lighting.

Yelp
My oldest Seattle friend and colleague Uncle Dave and I love to come here in conjunction with attending a Walt Longmire/Craig Johnson reading event at Third Place Books. This time I had the Bourbon Mustard Meat Loaf, and Dave had the Chicken Strawberry Spinach Salad -- both were excellent! The attentive and gracious server was the wonderful Cierra W. and as always, it was a splendid meal, and the perfect accompaniment to The Longmire Defense. We're eagerly looking forward to our next visit to Lake Forest Bar & Grill.

Yelp
Tried the prime dip. It was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy. Service is friendly. Just what you'd expect for a neighborhood B&G
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Nothing special. It's just your standard locals place although, my son enjoyed the elk burger. You don't find those many places.

Tom N.

Yelp
Great food, great service, reasonable prices. All of the diners in our group were happy. We had a 4-year-old with us, so we were glad the food came reasonably quickly!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome grilled cheese & soup! They also have great vegan options. Service is always so good and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
The cheeseburger and beer are outstanding. The service was prompt and the place is clean. Nice traditional bar and grill.

Yelp
Al Pastor wrap.. amazing! Some kind of lemonade with basil/mint, lawn clippings. Amazing drink! Service. Excellent! Edit: For the jack ass who called me an imbecile for a single typo. You sir must be the greatest person in the world? I suppose you've never made a typo. We should all be as amazing as you.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times now and only sat in the bar. Both times I was here during happy hour and was able to find a seat without issue. The bartender/server is super friendly and on point with customer service. I didn't have to ask for more water when I was out, he made sure I was topped up at all times - smart man! I've ordered the tree hugger sandwich twice now and love the meatless patty. The cheese is expertly melted on and they gladly replace the bun with lettuce wrapping. Thank you! You can swap fries for salad or other novel options so most recently I opted for the house salad. This is a decent side salad and it rounds out a pretty healthy meal - something most restaurants have a hard time accomplishing. Last time I also ordered the salmon with more veggies instead of potatoes. What I got was a beautifully plated and cooked WA filet of salmon atop fresh cooked asparagus. Yas please! Already planning my next visit here! The only downside is the shopping center traffic if you're coming from the Lake City Way entrance by the Starbucks! Make sure to enter for Lake Forest to avoid hangry aggravation in your car!

Heroes for t.

Yelp
First timers and motivated by their sponsorship of Adams County Pet Rescue. The fundraiser was really generous and the food was very good. We ordered more than we normally would but everything was great including the cheesecakes. Fun atmosphere too! Big thumbs up for owner Staci who went from table to table thanking patrons for attending the fundraiser.

Yelp
Terrible food. It's like they didn't cook the asparagus. I had to discreetly spit it out. The meatloaf was charred/burned (not sure how that happens with meatloaf). My bill was 40+ dollars, probably the worst $40 bucks spent in a long time. I'm surprised this place is still in business.
