Magnifique !!! ✨ If you are a nature lover go for it. However have some snack bars. Energy drinks. Water with you. There won't much cafe areas, but restaurants, for that you might have to walk or drive a bit. I enjoyed it. Water was super calm,.Clear, Ducks were there, the mountains !! Awesome. If you want to talk a rest 'find the kiosk' in the Google map. You can park a vehicle or two there.

Lake Maggiore, Italy’s stunning alpine gem, offers travelers a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical grandeur. Nestled between the majestic mountains of northern Italy and Switzerland, the lake's crystal-clear waters and lush landscapes have captivated visitors for centuries. Among its treasures are the enchanting Borromean Islands, a group of three islands named after the aristocratic Borromeo family, who transformed them into luxurious retreats. Isola Bella, with its grand baroque palace and terraced gardens, feels like a step back in time to the Renaissance. Isola Madre, known for its exotic plants and peacocks, exudes serenity and elegance, while the charming Isola dei Pescatori retains its traditional fishing village charm. The islands, surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the lake and the Alps, offer tourists a unique opportunity to explore Italy’s rich cultural heritage, relax in picturesque landscapes, and immerse themselves in timeless beauty.

Lake Maggiore is a wonderful place to visit, offering a perfect balance of activities and relaxation. You need more than 3 days to see everything. I would love to come back!

Beautiful lake with some nice islands. We took a 2 island tour for €11 but I think an hours wait for the next boat is a bit too long. Not much to do in the islands. One island for €8 is enough as both islands are very similar

Beautiful lake. Boromeu Islands worth a visit. We left out of Stresa and visited Isla Bela and Isla Pescatori. Most restaurants close at 3pm until 6pm.

This beautiful lake, second in size only to Garda lake, is a must see while traveling through northern Italy. The sceneries are varied and beautiful, the drive on the Piedmont side is the best: small villages, sinuous roads take you up to Switzerland, where the northern part ends. The opposite shores are in Lombardy, but aren’t as strikingly beautiful as the western coasts. Ancient villas belonging to ancient noble families as well as to rich entrepreneurs, as well as flourishing vegetation grace this side of the lake. It’s a one hour drive from Milan and truly worth reaching Arona or, further north, beautiful Stresa to catch a ferry boat that will take you anywhere you want, which in my opinion is the best way to appreciate its overwhelming beauty. The three Borromeo (an ancient local noble family) islands are a must to visit. Isola dei Pescatori, small, medieval. With shops, restaurants and some wild beach make it a lively place, overly crowded in the summer. April or May are the best months to visit. Isola Bella boasts a botanical garden and the ancient but well kept castle of the Borromeo family. Both the park and the castle can be visited through the year. The third island is to be avoided, as there’s nothing worth seeing. Near the pretty town of Arona, drive up to check out one of the tallest statues in Italy, dedicated to Saint Carlo Borromeo, an important religious character who dedicated his life to the poor and least fortunate during the 16th century plague, creating hospitals and caring centers to cure the sick and offer refuge and solace to the dying.

Lake Maggiore is an absolute gem of nature's splendor! I had the privilege of visiting this breathtaking lake, and it left me utterly mesmerized. The beauty and grandeur of Lake Maggiore are beyond words and truly a sight to behold. The vast expanse of crystal-clear, azure waters nestled between picturesque mountains is a sight that instantly captivates the soul. The surrounding landscapes, adorned with lush greenery and charming villages, create a postcard-perfect setting that feels like something out of a fairy tale. One of the most enchanting aspects of Lake Maggiore is its ever-changing vistas. The play of sunlight on the water's surface creates a mesmerizing dance of colors, ranging from deep blues to shimmering silvers and golds, depending on the time of day. Watching the sunrise or sunset over the lake is an experience that will forever remain etched in my memory. Exploring the lakeside towns and islands is a delightful adventure in itself. Each spot exudes its unique charm, with quaint streets, historic buildings, and lovely gardens that add to the overall allure of the region. The Borromean Islands, in particular, are an absolute must-visit, with their ornate palaces and exotic gardens, transporting visitors to a realm of pure enchantment. Whether you're leisurely strolling along the lakeshore, taking a boat ride to explore hidden coves, or simply sitting by the water's edge, you'll find a profound sense of peace and serenity at Lake Maggiore. It's a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In summary, Lake Maggiore is a paradise on Earth that boasts unparalleled beauty. If you have the chance to visit this majestic lake, seize it without hesitation. It's an experience that will leave you in awe and rejuvenated, and you'll undoubtedly carry its beauty in your heart for a lifetime
