This was a very enjoyable trip and worth the cost of a 1 1/2 hour tour of Lake Mead. The Desert Princess was very clean with ample crew to guest ratio and all of whom were pleasant and professional. The Captain was very clear in his introductions and commands; he also conducted a man overboard training exercise which was interesting. We enjoyed the pre-recorded narration, fully stocked bar and food available for purchase all reasonably priced.

Google
This was such a nice boat tour of the Lake Mead and Hoover Dam! Super friendly staff, very accommodating. During the 90 minute ride, there is a bar and food service on the cruise. We had nachos, the order arrived quickly and the food was great! Such great scenery to float down the Lake, towards Hoover Dam. Was nice to see so many other boats and seadoos around. During the cruise, they provide you with a lot of info and fun facts. Learned a lot from this tour. They do offer locals discounts, so please ask them. This was really nice, the marina is nice and clean and lots of fish to see in the lake too!

Google
A nice 90-minute cruise to see Hoover Dam. The speed was awfully slow, however, I would like to see a faster speed so that more of Lake Mead could be viewed than just Hoover Dam. All employees were friendly and helpful.

Google
It was 118° out that day. I really enjoyed our time out on the lake. It was a perfect day despite the heat. Took some floaties and when we stopped we got right in the water. There were 4 of us. I wouldn't put anymore on the boat we were on considering we had bags and coolers with us. Take SPF 30/15 so you don't burn. I started with 30. Reapplied 15 and did great. Wear a hat too. It was a bit expensive but worth it in my opinion. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Google
The price is great, the staff is wonderful and I appreciated the snack options.

Google
Great boat tour, highly recommend. This was our second time taking this cruise in a few years. It is a relaxing, educational trip around the lake to the Hoover Dam. It is extremely informative if you choose to listen, if not, sit back and relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Mead.

Rachel Chang

Google
The view is good. We came for mid day sight seeing. get pretty close to the dam. We came right after the dam tour, so a bit redundant (a bit different angle). But I guess if you haven’t been to the dam, definitely a good sight. Only around 20 people on board on a sunny Friday in March; we have pre recorded tour audio, the sound system wasn’t working very well at the beginning for the safety instructions. Some gaps in between. Friendly staff, nice cruise (3 level) and clean restrooms. I think it’s just a bit overpriced ($42 per person) for a pre recorded tour.

Rodney Lucio

Google
Super friendly staff. The boat is clean and well staffed with plenty of drinks and food. Plus a fantastic A/C!!! The cruise had an audio tour playing over the speakers but it wasn't too loud and the information was interesting. I'm definitely coming back.

Yelp
A beautiful boat ride on lake mead is ruined by too much talking. Very little quiet time to enjoy the scenery. When you're not being told about all the history in nauseating detail they have to play music through out the boat. Why can't we just enjoy nature?
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a good time and a nice way to spend 90 minutes on the lake...the boat is a two tiered vessel with an indoor seating area that has a small bar where you can order some food and drinks, as well as sit inside and look out of the windows if not inclined to deal with whatever the outside elements may be...the top tier is a fully outdoor deck with about 30 plastic chairs set up to sit on during the tour...the narration throughout is prerecorded but informative nonetheless...you can also stand along the front and rear of the boat as well as the sides...the price definitely isn't cheap, 50 for adults and 25 for kids but seeing how costly it must be to operate I can understand the cost...a lot of employees inside and out that need to be paid...unfortunately the cruise hasn't fully recovered from Covid as they are only running on a minimal schedule, 1 tour a day, 4 days a week...they are hoping to recover and return to a more pre Covid schedule but that remains to be seen...they also used to have a brunch cruise on weekends as well as a sunset dinner cruise, hopefully the future will see the return of those events...all in all a fun day on the lake..:RECOMMEND

Yelp
It was a tranquil boat ride. I had hoped to see a bit more than we did. I'm glad we got the locals discount, not too many places even offer that anymore. The staff were inviting and nice. We ordered a drink from the bar and some nachos. The drink was for sure over priced but the nachos were good.

Yelp
Went here with my husband for a Thursday mid day sightseeing cruise of Hoover Dam. We got there early and browsed in the gift shop. Later bought several souvenirs, shirts, magnet and hat. Staff were friendly and the cruise was very relaxing, we couldn't even tell when we left the dock, it was so smooth! Food onboard was reasonably priced and good, credit cards only for all purchases, but there was a jar on the order counter for cash tips. There were about 20 guests on board and the ship is in need of renovation, but it sailed and the views were beautiful enhanced by the recorded narration played through out the cruise. A/C made it comfortable in the cabin to escape the deck heat and this is well worth the trip to Boulder City

Yelp
OK, so I am easy and have a low bar. I found this a great day trip. And after you are done visit the Boulder City Inn and visit their museum and have a drinkie. And across the street is a bakery/bar restaurant that serves a GREAT potato leek cream soup with home made bread. Ya GOTTA try it! The tour could have been longer but for what it was, it was good. The three decks of the "sternwheeler", LOL. were good to explore, The ship had a bar so you were always hydrated (with gin and tonics) LOL and the staff was fantastic. The ongoing narrative gave you a description of the lake and Boulder Dam. Getting there follow the signs and gravel and dirt roads, watch your step, and have a picture taken before the cruise. The captain is always around and cordially attentive. There is a predeparture lounge that has a fridge with water, cokes, and my favorite Stella Artois. All in all a fun experience.

Yelp
Located in the middle of nowhere, the boat offers the comforts of civilization in a sizzling hot and dry climate. The lunch was basic, and I didn't see any goats on the rock formations. Hoover Dam was impressive. The tour guide was informative, and the scenery of the wet lake and dry rock formations were a great contrast.
google avatar

Yelp
A very nice afternoon cruise to Hoover Dam via Lake Mead. Onboard drinks and food are available. The cheeseburgers were fantastic. Friendly service. A wonderful time! Nice little gift shop at the pier. Great views throughout, with pre-recorded informative narrative history onboard.

Yelp
I had family in for a trip with Lake mead cruise and due to a holiday weekend, we left early to get to the boat, but unfortunately the line to get in the park was over an hour wait and we missed the boat cruise, out cost was $188 and I explained to the company what happen and if we could get credit to go on another cruise, they replied they do not give credit, so we are out of $188, I will never do business with them again and just to let everyone know this is how they operated, just my experience. Thanks John S.

Yelp
Want to see water? Eat on a small cruise? Want to know more about Lake Mead or Hoover Dam? Come over here! Or Bring your family! This is the place to visit for lunch and sightseeing. On the ship there's light music. And when the music's not playing there's, a narrator telling the history of the Lake and Hoover Dam. Pretty interesting. There are three tiers where you can hang out. The bottom would be the galley has a little bar. Then second floor and a top deck to catch sun and air and enjoy the view. This is like an hour ride. The food is good. It would be nice if they serve salad. We did the sightseeing tour so I'm sure on other tours like the dinner tour should be different food. Overall, this is cool. I'll be taking friends and family here when they visit me.

Yelp
The scenery is nice. However, I think it needs to be updated as far as the food , drinks and decor . Also, the day we went the AC went out so the boat was a little hotter than expected.

Yelp
Beautiful day on lake Mead and a great experience with this cruise. Everyone was friendly and the booking experience was easy online. You can also buy tickets on site. We enjoyed visiting the Lake Mead National Recreation area and the narration on the cruise about the history of the Colorado River, the lake and the Hoover Dam was informative. The bar on board had a wide selection of beverages and snacks/food for purchase. There are two indoor seating areas and an upper deck for outdoor seating. They do have a gift shop at the marina and souvenir pictures for purchase if you're interested, but aren't pushy if you're not.

Yelp
what a nice adventure, nice 2 hour dinner cruise, staff was super friendly, calm waters good views, dinner was a choice of Prima Rib Chicken Breast or smoke salmon all included salad, bread and Champagne ( dessert too ) couple things you should know 25$ to get into lake ( not included in package ) about a hour from the Vegas strip and line to get into lake gets backed up and their not in any hurry to get people in, overall great a experience would highly recommended

Yelp
My partner took me on this cruise on a saturday and I absolutely loved it. The history of the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead is just amazing. We have already gone to the Hoover Dam and Boulder city and this was the last part of learning all the history. The scenery was just beautiful and so peaceful , the tour is only 2 hours and very informational which is perfect if that's what you are looking for. They have several packages even dinner and drinks , we got just the tour and went to the bar for a beer. It's a really nice mini cruise to try out !

Yelp
This was one of the better excursions we did on our visit to Boulder City. I really wanted to visit the Dam and this was a great way to see it from the lakeside. We inadvertently waited until Mother's Day to take the cruise and we were told there were over 200 people on board. We chose a seat inside on the second deck near the bar area at a table. They had a special for the day of a prime rib french dip sandwich with chips. We decided to order that for lunch, and apparently, everyone else on board also ordered food. We really enjoyed the cruise while waiting for our food, and we got lots of photos of the dam and the lake. There was an ongoing narration playing over the speakers to tell you about the history of the area. The food came pretty close to the end of the cruise but faster than some of the others near us. The manager offered us two free drinks to make up for the delayed food order. She also seemed to offer similar deals to the others who were still waiting. I thought it was great that they owned up to their mistake and made good on it. That impressed me and I'd recommend this cruise to others because of it. They could have been jerks and they weren't. The staff and crew were friendly and professional.

Yelp
This is a short cruise around Lake Mead 90 minutes at noon time that I would recommend to anyone.... The sights ... The history that is given... so scenic and relaxing.... This is not a place to have the food though so I am not docking points for it... all about the cruise... at a reasonable price at 35 per adult. The Paddle Wheel Boat itself holds 275.... The staff all nice and helpful.....

Yelp
We did the Desert Princess Cruz for our anniversary! It was wonderful and might I say romantic! This two hour dinner cruise starts you off with complimentary Champaign, bread and a salad at your assigned table. Your dinner menu is already available at the table and you server will take your order. Your dinner choices are: Chicken, Salmon or medium rare Ribeye. All served with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies! After you have placed your order, you are free to explore the boat. There are 4 levels to this ship. The first 3 are inside dinning with AC and the very top deck is outside. Unfortunately the day we came is was a blistering 117 degrees outside so the top deck was not open for dining, however you could still go up top and enjoy the beautiful scenery for as long as you could last! Once your dinner is ready, the captain will call your deck. We were on the first deck, so we got called relatively fast. Which was perfect because we didn't last long in the blistering sun! We each ordered the prime rib and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly and seasoned well! It was accompanied with an auju sauce and a horseradish cream. It was perfect! We were seated by the window, so even though we didn't last long outside we still were able to enjoy the scenery of the sun setting on a glass lake, beautiful red mountains, delicious meal and of course my handsome date! As the cruise started to head back to dock, we got a small piece of vanilla cake with a strawberry jelly center. It was the perfect way to top off our anniversary!

Yelp
My boyfriend surprised me with tickets for the dinner cruise last month. At first I was thinking about giving 4 stars, only because the boat was very hot inside and it almost seemed like there was no A/C on at all while we were eating dinner. However, the staff was excellent. Our beverages were always refreshed, everyone was so knowledgeable and friendly! It was approx. a 2-hour experience and watching the sunset on the top deck of the boat was something I'll never forget. I would have loved to gone when it was a little bit cooler outside, I suggest September or March for the best possible experience!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
We enjoyed this boat ride on Lake Mead. You can see most of the lake from the dock really but it was nice to get an up close view. The staff was nice. It does suck that you have to pay the park entrance fee even if you only want to go on the boat ride though.

Yelp
A beautiful and a very relaxing cruise! I booked the Champagne Brunch cruise $46 that includes a glass of champagne and American style buffet breakfast and ofcourse the cruise. The length of the cruise is 90 mins. Yesterday, I got a courtesy call and confirmation and they asked if there was any special requests and that was nice. For $26, they have just a cruise at 12pm and 2pm but there is a grill inside to order food. This is located in Lake mead National recreational area and you will need to pay $25 entrance for it's a National park. We headed to the Lake Mead Cruises landing today and boarded the Desert Princess. It's a colorful and beautiful 300-passenger paddlewheel boat. We checked in at 9.30am and the cruise starts at 10am. The breakfast was not bad. After eating, my love and I went up to the sun deck. The view was spectacular and esp the Hoover Dam. The music was pleasant. The staff were friendly.
google avatar

Jill M.

Yelp
Less than an hour out of LasVegas. Expect to show your National Park Pass or pay a cover charge at the gate. Reservation system is questionable. At first I called to check that wind wasn't a factor. The woman who answered sounded half asleep and didn't give the business name when answering. I wasn't sure I had the right number. She said she is taking reservations and not there on site, so wind isn't an issue. I ended up making the reservations online and did not receive an email confirmation. I did have the reservation number and itinerary number. The women at check-in could not find our full reservation, which included one senior, five adults and a child. After consulting with two others and arguing with me that the total I was charged did not include 7 people because she couldn't see it on her screen, but the amount I was charged equals seven tickets. Don't believe them if they say online charges you a service fee. It doesn't. Finally they reluctantly gave me 7 boarding passes. The cruise was beautiful with a prerecorded narrative. Sitting on the top deck in the sun was delightful. Full bar located on board too. Easy access for our 80 year old birthday girl. However some younger heavier guests were not able to navigate the steps on board.

Yelp
It's been several years since I've been on the ship and wanted to go for a dinner cruise. I booked online and needed to change the date, so I submitted the request via email and it was updated easily. When our day came, we arrived by 5:30pm and had a designated table. Everything was preset with bread, water and champagne. The interior was clean and well-maintained. The servers were friendly throughout the night. When it came to the food, it was literally the worst food I've ever been served. The chicken and salmon were so dry and the chicken, especially, was rock hard and I couldn't even get my knife through it. I cannot see how that is acceptable by any means. We voiced our concerns and several minutes later, we received substitutes of prime rib and pasta. The prime rib was ok, but still had a greyish tint and the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. The pasta looked like baby food and was very mushy. For the price per ticket, I am very surprised regarding the substandard quality of the food, especially considering someone could get sick or choke on it. I unfortunately would not recommend going for dining purposes.

Yelp
We went on the Saturday evening dinner cruise. Boarding, including taking pictures of all guests, and debarking is included in the 2 hr trip. Service was exceptional. The staff was extremely friendly despite having to run around to meet everyone's needs. The speaker sound system is horrible. Scary to think about if an emergency arose. Would have been nice to have a short narrative about the history of the lake and dam construction. The food was not good. The prime rib was very fatty and my salmon was very dry. I love any and all seafood so my husband was very surprised when I ate less than half of it. Potatoes and veggies were good but cold. We recently took the Lake Tahoe Dinner Cruise and liked it much better. There was a 2 man band, singer and keyboard player, that were very good and entertaining. Most of us even got in a dance or two. The food was delicious and bar service was excellent. Wish there were no children allowed on dinner cruises. There was a toddler boy who cried a little but his sister was a fake cry/screamer when she wanted something. Ugh

Yelp
My friend reserved a spot on Sept. 6th for the four of us on the dinner cruise on Sept 14th. We drove the one hour there and waited in the parking lot until the gates opened only to find that we had been canceled and received an email regarding the cancellation that morning at 9:05 am. We are all traveling so haven't been checking our emails regularly. I would highly recommend calling people about cancellations rather than rely on email. A call a week in advance or even an email a week in advance would have gone a long way! Ridiculous! Don't book this cruise! Per your reply, my friend was not contacted the day before to communicate the cancellation via phone.

Yelp
This was one of the most educational experience of Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. The paddle boat was smooth and the weather was perfect. The staff was exceptional with customer service.. this was absolutely beautiful scenery.. we learned a lot!

Yelp
Pros: Boat was clean and tables were distanced properly. Views were beautiful and the sight-seeing portion was great. Cons: - Food. was. really. bad. How do you mess up the most basic of foods lol - our table had the Salmon and Prime Rib and let me tell you, it's like they never heard of salt and pepper lol. - Veggies tasted like they were microwaved and left there. Probably canned. Soggy and cold. -prime rib was well done when we asked for Medium Rare - Salmon was as dry as the desert - The dessert was a slice of cake, which was frozen solid still when it arrived to my table. - just to park here it was $25 - Servers were really sweet but super slow - Cruise started half an hour late and ended late too. - Soft drinks are not included, an extra $3 per cup of soda (like 6oz or less) - Mentioning again how awful the food was because god it was really the worst thing i've ever eaten in my life. So yeah, cruise itself was nice. Avoid the dinner part at all costs.
google avatar

Neil O.

Yelp
Did the Dinner cruise and I will say that the cruise itself it great. The views of Lake Mead during sunset is pretty nice and the staff was friendly throughout. Now for why I rate it 2 stars. The dinner portion was possibly the worst meal I ever had to pay for. My party had the prime rib and salmon and they were both awful. Prime rib looked like an overcooked grey mess when we asked for medium rare. The salmon was hard as a rock and dry. Both lacked salt or any other flavor. The sides were veggies and mashed potatoes and they were both cold and flavorless as well. The dessert was a strawberry white cake that came to our table still frozen. I have to say that I was shocked regarding the food quality. How can you flop on every single food item? Absolutely not worth the price and I would not recommend the dinner cruise.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Save yourself a lot of frustration and do not book a cruise with this company. I booked a birthday cruise dinner weeks ago and 24 hours before the cruise they canceled our reservation. The reason they canceled was because they didn't have enough customers to go on the cruise. I have already arranged non refundable transportation from the strip at the cost of $150. They sent me an email canceling and when I called them, I was on hold for 50 minutes waiting to speak to two extremely unhelpful customer service reps. One of the reps told me that they cancel cruises all the time in the slow winter months. I think it is extremely inconsiderate to have people make reservations and then cancel most of their cruises. Now I am scrambling to recreate the birthday experience and I am out $150.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
A fantastic tour! It doesn't say it online but locals get a discount when you call in for a reservation. I believe it was $6.50 off the daytime sight seeing cruise. I'd recommend if you go during the day & want to sit on the top level bring sunscreen. Even on a sunny 70 degree day it gets very hot.
google avatar

Yelp
Such an AWSUM way to serenity, while dining & viewing the rugged, yet amazing views of Lake Mead! EVERYONE, from making our reservations to loading onto the boat ranked a high 5 in customer service! Including our wonderful meal, great service there as well! Such a SPLENDID way to spend my birthday!!
google avatar

Yelp
Took my mother here for her birthday for a 12 pm cruise. Had an overall pleasant excursion and would go back! We got to the marina at the schedule time: 30-45 minutes prior to arrival. Chatted with the staff inside at the marina gift shop/boarding area. Glad we did because the cruise was going to be late taking off. Instead of boarding at 11:45, we ended up boarding at 12:20 due to the brunch cruise being late. This put us a little behind for the rest of the day, not a big deal, but would appreciate some text updates if they are able to do so, as it is a longer drive from Vegas. Crew was wonderful on board and helped us pick great seats for my mom to make her comfortable. We took the advice of the staff from the marina and promptly ordered burgers. Let me tell you...this burger was amazing. Skip the In N Out and get one onboard the Desert Princess. Big props to the chef! Everything was so fresh. The almost constant recorded narration, which tells you all about Lake Mead, was a little annoying towards the end as the cruise itself is so serene and peaceful. Could do with a little less of that. Def. would love to come back for a brunch or dinner cruise, since the food was so great!
google avatar

Yelp
Eight of us made reservations on 8/11 for 8/22; however, 7 of the reservations were not found. We all received confirmation emails and our credit cards were charged within a few minutes of the reservation. Due to the COVID max of 62, we were told we could not board. They would only provide a refund or another date. Since this was a going away party another date wouldn't work. The did not offer to reimburse for fuel and some of our folks came 40 miles to the marina in a big truck. Instead of making people that had reserved just today, they threw us off. What happened to first come first served. This is unacceptable for any business, especially now. Never again. I've lived here 35 years and will never we bring another visitor here or use the cruise company. Shame on you Lake Mead Cruises.
google avatar

Norm K.

Yelp
I have done the Lake Mead cruise three times. It really is a super way to send a relaxing hour and a half. The cruise gives you a view behind Hoover Dam which is a view you'll never see unless you do other water activities at the lake. The narration during the cruise is very informative. It explains the geology of the Boulder Basin on which this section of Lake Mead is formed. The narration goes on the explain the building of the dam, and now there's a separate narration to describe the Hoover Dam Bypass being built south of the dam. I have done this cruise twice in the summer. The paddle wheel boat is air conditioned, but when it's hot, it's not conducive to going out on deck to get some great photos. More moderate months would be best. If you are visiting in the summer, don't be afraid of going because of the heat. You;'ll enjoy the trip in the air conditioning inside.

Yelp
Very poor customer service. On August 20th I spent an hour online and on the phone just making a reservation for a dinner cruise on Thursday September 3rd. Just two days before the dinner cruise, I received an e-mail from them telling me how sad they were to hear that I canceled my dinner cruise, I never canceled it at all. When I spent another hour on the phone to find out what the hell happened, they informed me that they were cutting back their cruises to weekends only. Our company coming in from out of town were leaving Saturday morning, so no, I couldn't move my dates. They told me "we'll give you a full refund on your credit card". Six days later, no refund, so I had to dispute the charges on my credit card to failure to deliver services.
google avatar

Zach V.

Yelp
I'm a local, who made reservations and paid on your website. I saw no mention of the local discount that you offer. Booking online shouldn't be a disqualification for the local discount. How can I be refunded the local discount amount? Please advise.

Yelp
A bit hot but we knew what we were getting into! We bought our tickets with ease, the woman at the counter was super friendly and informative about the cruise, The ship which was for 12 noon didnt leave till 1230 just so you know and it didnt finish till 2 so dont expect for things to go exact! There is a series of bathrooms on board and for someone like me they are PRIVATE and both gendered so I think that is fantastic, the private part :D There is also a bar on board and I told the girl that I would love a margarita but cannot drink and she said she could make me a virgin one and wow was it good!! super refreshing so dont be afraid to ask! I also met a woman on the boat and invited her to my gift giveaways group on FB, I sure hope she joins. The ride itself was nice, smooth, I did get a little sick I think because of the heat but you can also buy dramamine in the gift shop if you arent sure... The ONLY thing I didnt like about the ride was the narrator who was a recording that went on and on and on about the history of Lake Mead and the dam, Ok...I understand people would like to know but I also want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the boat ride... The boat goes to the dam and shows you the bridge! It was nice and calm.

Yelp
We came here yesterday morning to go on the Desert Princess and have brunch. The ride on Lake Meade was 90 minutes and we got really close to Hoover Dam. The food was really good and served as a buffet. As part of our meal, we received champagne, orange juice, coffee and water; no extra charge. If you decide to have brunch on the Desert Princess, the best place for a couple to sit is at one of the tables next to the windows. I feel like I missed out on some of the scenery while we were eating because our table was not by the window but in the center of the dining area. Other than that it was a wonderful boat ride and the food was great.
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
So cool! Took the 90 minutes tour of the lake and the 3 level cruise was a great experience! Staff was super Friendly. Drinks and lunch options were super helpful with scenic windows on the middle level. Deck scenery with chairs was relaxing and views of Hoover dam were the bomb

Yelp
Every year we enjoy the cruise and the time laps of our photos each year as we board the Stern Wheeler vessel (Desert princess). Lots of places to sit top side or inside. Booz and snack Bar. If you want to impress your girl or kids knock on the captains cabin door to experience the view behind the wheel. Fun for all ages. We caught a glimpse of some longhorn sheep on the mountain side during our last voyage.

Yelp
Poor customer service. Very disappointed. We had family in town from New Hampshire, wanted to take them on nice tour of Lake Mead/Hoover Dam. We reserved 6 tickets on Friday, 9/20/19 for mid-day cruise to enjoy lunch, photos, etc. Just before we were to set off, a woman came by telling everyone that the grill was closed and there were no photos. No sorry, just "sometimes it happens"...really? No offer of refund, or we will provide a discount for the inconvenience and disappointment. My father is diabetic and needs to eat at certain time, so it was also very troubling to "find" a snack that would be appropriate until we were able to find restaurant nearby after the cruise was over... so not very enjoyable when you are concerned about health of father. Not to mention, so so afternoon entertaining out of town family. Things happen, but believe it could have been handled differently with more apology and offer something for inconvenience.

Yelp
Hubby & I had a wonderful time. Awesome crew. They had their hands full but still managed to keep our drinks filled (& all I had was water). Saw some fantastic views of the lake, the mountains & Hoover Dam. Will definitely do this again.

Yelp
This is a great way to stay cool on a hot day. They serve food (albeit, pretty well pre-prepared. You get 10% discount with AAA. There are air conditioned decks on the cruise but many people sit without eating. Get your spot early by getting in line before everyone else.

Yelp
Worthwhile event. Service was great and food was mediocre. I would do it again for the cruise on the lake.

Yelp
Didn't even get to go on a tour... Scheduled a tour on Saturday and on my there, I get a call that it's cancelled. I was told it's was due to wind. I get it, things happen. Reschedule the tour for Sunday. 30 mins before I need to be there, the tour gets cancelled again! This time it's due to mechanical issues. No apologies, just a refund that will be issued on Monday. I'm just irritated that they cancelled the tours, so close to the start time. Each time I was on my way there. I'm also frustrated that I didn't receive an apology for the inconvenience. It would have been nice if they offered a discount for a future cruise. I guess since they are the only cruise company on the lake, they can get away with that. Luckily, I live in Vegas so I'm driving my own car. However, if I was staying on the strip and on my way I would be super pissed. I would suggest renting a boat with some friends, instead going on the cruise. More flexibility and at least you'll get to go on a boat.

Yelp
So I won 2 tickets on the radio for an Evening Dinner Cruise with Lake Mead Cruises. I procrastinated and ended up booking their weekend before last cruise of the season (October 31). Making reservations was easy, they called a few days before to confirm and ask a few questions. The marina was easy to find once you get in the park, the have signs up pointing you in the right direction. The parking lot is dirt and near the dock. We checked in with ease, they offered if we wanted to buy refreshments or snacks. we opted for a beer, took a quick potty break and looked around the gift shop. They took everyone's picture before boarding started. The temperature was nice but it was a cloudy, dreary evening. We boarded in no time and were escorted to our assigned dinner table. The dining room was only half full, we got a nice window seat. But because of the time of the year it got dark fast and looking out the window was pretty useless, all you see is darkness. We were served drinks pretty quickly, then our salads which were all dressed the same with a vinaigrette, also some rolls and butter on the side. They were all very good. We picked our main course. I got the Salmon and Doug got the Steak, both came with mashed potatoes and mixed steamed veggies. It wasn't gourmet but it was very good, steak and salmon a bit overcooked but edible. We had a few minutes in between courses so we would all go out on the deck and check out the moon and stars and anything else we could see. Dessert was last, I chose the Lemon cake and Doug picked the Chocolate. The Lemon was light and delicious, Doug was even jealous and said it was better than the chocolate. Before you knew it we were on our way back to the dock, enjoyed the night air, conversation with each other and another nice couple we met on the boat. Over all it was a relaxing nice time, but with it being so dark out, if I had advice to give... go on one of the daytime cruises. And remember to tip your server!

Yelp
Had a great experience with this cruise and my lady and I actually got engaged on it! I called ahead from NYC and made reservations for a Sunday brunch cruise, as we were traveling to Las Vegas and Boulder City. I gave them another call the day before and made a few more specific arrangements and what not, and everyone was helpful. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. They have a few draft beers, cans, and some mixed drinks. Seemed pretty cheap (compared to NY at least), and our bartender was friendly and let us run a tab to the boat once brunch started. Before we ate, we secretly went up to the top deck, where I surprised my girlfriend good! It went over really well and Shelli, our server, walked up with mimosas and took a few photos for us. She was fantastic! They also made an announcement to the ship and everyone was cool and didn't embarrass me (too much). The food was good! I was pretty distracted and excited, but I had some sausage, crepes, eggs benedict, bacon, and all that other good stuff. The entire staff was really cool. Carla, Shelli, thanks a bunch! Also, the captain and his apprentice took a photo of us in the cockpit, which was cool. We got some souvenirs after and one shirt was too small for my fiancée, and they were really cool about exchanging it the next day. Overall a great job and a wonderful experience!

Yelp
I don't think this is getting enough love. Maybe I'm biased since I used to cruise around on a paddleboat like this one on the Pittsburgh rivers as a kid. How can you not like a casual day on the lake? Here's what you need to know: this is meant to be a relaxing, sit-back and enjoy the afternoon kind of ride. It's on Lake Mead so you certainly can't be expecting something exciting to pop up during the cruise. It's also a paddleboat so you can't be expecting it to go very fast. It's meant for you to have a chill afternoon in Boulder City. We, of course, had to go on one of the windiest days so far this year. And I, of course, had to think I was going to look cute and wear a dress on our little afternoon date. Do not do this! It is not smart and everyone will stare at you like you are a crazy person. Yes, we had extra wind the day we were there, but I can imagine that it's windy on the lake most days. Because of my fashion don't, we didn't explore too much of the boat. We ran up to the 2nd floor and grabbed something to eat and then as I clung onto my dress for dear life we went to the 3rd floor to really enjoy the views. We completely missed the first floor. There is a prerecorded guide that talks about the history and geology of the area when the cruise first starts. I'm kind of bummed we missed it since I can be a bit of a nerd, but I was starving and my stomach always comes first. We were able to order off the menu on the 2nd floor but unfortunately there weren't a lot of options for vegetarians. We ordered some snacks and I decided that I couldn't pass up a frozen strawberry margarita. I only reserve frozen cocktails for days when I feel like a tourist, and this was one of those days. The second floor was just to the full point when we arrived but cleared out after 20 minutes. On the top floor there are some patio furniture-esque chairs to sit in and soak up the sights. I decided to not let the wind win and relax. There were plenty of interesting rock formations to see as well as a new perspective of the Hoover Dam (down below vs. from up top). If you're lucky you can steer the boat for .82 seconds like I did! In all, this is a fun afternoon date or a good spot for a family. Prices for drinks and food are a little more than I would normally spend but not outrageous. I am docking one star, however, since I do feel the tickets are overpriced. I got a discount on mine and feel like it was worth the price for what I received.

Yelp
A fun tour! Beautiful scenery & I loved the informational recording telling us about the geology, history & science of the landscape. The boat is beautiful. As we waited to board, the boat pulled up & was playing new Orleans style jazz. It was so perfect for the event. Unfortunately, after you board, between the informational audio pieces they play country music. I hate country music. I would prefer silence so we could listen to the sound of the boat going through the water, the birds flying overhead or the wind through the canyon.
