For those seeking a beach day closer to Columbia, Lake Murray Public Park is a staple recommended by local outlets like the Free Times and South Carolina Living. This lakeside escape features sandy shores, swimming areas, and picnic spots with sweeping views of the water. The park is operated by SCE&G, and while there’s a small entry fee, the friendly staff, clean facilities, and locally organized summer events make it a beloved community resource. Paddleboard rentals and fresh-caught fish fries from nearby independent vendors add extra flavor to the experience.

Great spot to launch a boat and spend the day fishing. Very clean and accessible bathrooms close to dock. And, a great day of fishing with a local guide.

First time visiting, very nice area plenty of picnic tables available for different families and friends. However parking for vehicles not carrying a boat is limited so I got lucky that day.

This is an amazing spot to relax alone or with other people. The view of the lake is breathtakingly beautiful. You may see divers, speedboats many happy people having a great time here fishing or just enjoying the calm.

Beautiful park, perfect for a family picnic, date night to watch the sunset, kayaking, fishing or boating. Access to water for watercraft. No swimming allowed though! There are a few pavilions for shelter w picnic tables and charcoal grills. Bathrooms are decent. The walk across the damn is beautiful and a great way to get your steps in!

This is a very suitable place to take your family to barbecue camping on weekends. We depart from Fountain Inn and the journey is about 1 and a half hours. The scenery of Moli Lake is very beautiful, and we saw many people driving their speedboats over here to play. It was a great experience.

Nice walk over the dam. Not a great place for dogs as this is right along the highway. Matter of fact I do believe there is a no dog policy. We drove through the park area before leaving there were picnic tables grills restrooms and public boat launch.
