The Best Affordable Restaurants in Las Vegas for a Cheap Meal | Eater Vegas

"The best deal at this lakeside restaurant is the 24-hour breakfast. Order the New York steak and eggs, which comes with potatoes and toast, for just $9.99; a pancake special with two pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon, and two sausages, runs for the same. For lunch and dinnertime diners, fish tacos go for under $10, as does the steak sandwich." - Janna Karel

Today was the first time we ate at this lounge, and we are so glad our friends took us here for lunch. This lounge is located away from the hustle & bustle of downtown Las Vegas, next to Lake Sahara. There is plenty of free parking within the complex with some handicapped designated spots. The lounge is separate into a dining area and bar, which is separated by a glass door and is small when compared to most other restaurants. However, the staff here were fantastic, friendly, attentive and helpful with menu selections. Each of us had different meals and all of us were quite happy with our choices. The food was served in a timely manner, hot and was very tasty. I had a freshly made chicken pot pie, and it was delicious. There is a special everyday and the prices were more than reasonable, especially considering the portion size. Bottom line, we will return to this lounge in the future because of its excellent service, menu and location.

First time here for us. The steak n eggs here r cheaper than village pubs now. $11 per dish which is a great price for people who came from cali. Steak was soft ( ordered medium/ med rare), toasts were really crunchy n buttery, fries r food. No complaints here as they just got themselves 2 new loyal customers. Highly ultra recommended for cheap eats. Service is great, food came out at a decent pace despite there r many guests. The vibe is cozy with many booths, lights not too dimmed ( we went in restaurant side since it’s split into 2 w bar area on the other door). There r many other food items that r reasonably priced too, lookin forward to come back next time! 9.5/10

Update: we came back to try their happy hour. It's such a good-looking menu. The red wine was not good. The drink was pretty weak. We ordered the potato skins and they were served totally cold after about 20 minutes. We asked for them to be replaced but the waitress came out and just gave us our check with them removed. So we never got them back. The waitress was really nice and she got in a fight with a cook about it but I will not be coming back. What a good find this was. The food was delicious. The service was good. I love the decor. The prices were especially reasonable. I can't wait to come back here for the happy hour. Also look at the price of wine compared to other places.

Let's start off by saying that the staff here is amazing. They are kind, attentive and accommodating. Food service is fast and food is good. Large portions and fair prices help to make this small restaurant a good choice for any meal. The only downside is the bar type of smell but if you are into that type of thing than this place is for you. Very quiet and low lights make this restaurant a good place to eat off a hangover.

If you want to escape the bright sun and heat while treating yourself to some good ol’ American comfort foods then Lakes Lounge is perfect for you! This is a darkly lit, small, cozy diner with an all American comfort food menu. There aren’t many tables so you may have a short wait but there was one available when we went so we did get seated immediately & I noticed throughout our visit that the turn over was pretty quick. Our food came out fast, myself just having my normal plain side salad with no dressing. I should note *medically my diet restrictions are no meat, no dairy, gluten-free, low-sodium & low sugar… so you wld think it’s impossible for me to go out to eat but I figured out a way too because I’ve always loved the experience of different restaurants. So the downfall on my simple side salad was that I asked for romaine lettuce instead of iceberg and they brought Iceberg and also the menu states that it comes with cucumbers (*I also specifically said “with cucumbers” when I ordered) and my salad had no cucumbers. I did say “no croutons” and they got that right. So maybe don’t try to modify something so simple there but I didn’t mind, I added my tofu & berries that I brought from home and it was great. My fiancé though is the true food critic. He’s obsessed with finding the best steak n eggs for the price around us and so far this was his favorite! He said it tasted good, was perfectly cooked (med-rare) and his portion was slightly larger than his prior favorite at Mad Maddies down the street and the price was lower at 10.99 compared to their 14.99. All and all we enjoyed ourselves, we were satisfied and we will be revisiting! Updated: We did revisit and our service and food was great! This time my fiancé got their Fish n Chips and was very satisfied and I finally got the romaine lettuce :)

I just love this place. The little street mall but gets busy during the dinner time. Foods are very good as the prices.

Pretty solid and fair prices! Chicken strip appetizer was excellent Update! The Monday special baby back ribs were absolutely delicious! The French dip was pretty solid as well. Additional photos on my profile page 3rd visit! Sunday special turkey dinner for $10.99 was excellent! The fish and chips for $12.99 were also tasty! 4th visit. Fried chicken was also delicious Tried out breakfast today. The French toast was pretty solid. Yelp
I would like to start out by telling you the truth. THERE IS NO VIEW OF THE LAKE FROM THIS BUSINESS. You have to ignore the outdoor pictures posted on Yelp. The Lake is nearby on the other end of this strip mall but not here. Moving on - The Lakes Lounge is a 24/7 food, bar, and gaming type place. This one is a smaller place and isn't fancy. It looks like your average 24/7 type place inside. Here they have two separate rooms and doors. One is for the restaurant and the other is for the bar and gaming. They offer the usual breakfast and basic American menu. The specialty of the house are the beer battered fish and chips. I sort of got to try them by ordering the (non-traditional) beer battered fish tacos that were only $10.99. I was very surprised when I saw how generous the tacos were packed. The batter on the fish seemed crispy when they were first brought out but latter got soft. The tacos were double shelled and the beer battered fish seemed like a better quality than what I tasted at another similar restaurant recently. The batter contained a good amount of flavor. The slaw on it was average but the taco sauce was mighty flavorful so it was good. Like I said it was an enormous portion of food. I doubt than any mortal can eat all three tacos here. My husband thought his Soup and Shepard's Pie Special was just OK. Not bad but just OK. Service was good and was done by a team of a server and her busboy. THERE IS NO LAKESIDE VIEW HERE. It's on the other side of this strip mall. Low Prices - Large portions 3.5 Stars rounded up because the fish tacos were so much better than from another place I tried recently.

Yelp
We went there for breakfast and it was full as always, I ordered Denver omelette with potatoes, they were good but I noticed the portion is smaller than before. Hubby ordered French toast and they're consistently delicious. Service is always good and they recognized us since we go there often. Although a small restaurant every space of this restaurant is used and plenty of tables. This place is popular among seniors as there's an assisted living nearby. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
Food Rack of Baby back ribs - A feast for $25. Tender, flavorful, classic. 4.6/5 Beans - Solid and balanced. 4.4/5 Fries - 4/5 Caesar salad - 3/5. Very standard and one note. Needs improvement. Steak sandwich - For $11 this is excellent. Steak was cooked to my liking and had a nice smokey flavor. Needed some mayo for moisture. 4.5/5 Service 5/5 - Friendly staff. Atmosphere 5/5. Clean and good lighting. An excellent value for some no frills, classic American food done right. This place is Norms/Denny's/Sizzler but actually good.

Yelp
I always have a wonderful experience at Lakes Lounge! The wait time is unpredictable, sometimes we have arrived to a full house and other times there has been plenty of seating. The food is ALWAYS great, I have not had one experience where the food wasn't up to par. The steak and eggs deal is one you can't beat, but don't be shy to explore the rest of the menu. The breakfast specials are such a bang for your buck and portion sizes are plenty. I love the chicken wings, they are huge wings and are crispy and juicy. This place is a must try for anyone.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a hidden secret! The food is good but they sell out of the daily specials. The funny thing is I ran into a friend from Califonia in this small restaurant. Can't wait to see you again!
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
Being from Las Vegas, this is my favorite place to go off the strip for $10.99 Steak and Eggs. Sometimes the wait can be a little long but it's worth the wait and price and chill environment. I love getting the sweet potato tater tots with my steak and eggs.

Yelp
My family moved to Vegas in 1990. Lakes Lounge was one of the places we'd go. This place is a hidden gem in Vegas. It's hidden in a shopping center right next to the lake! Best food and still to this day they have fair prices. I've never had a bad experience at the Lakes Lounge. Service has always been spot on. The ambiance is definitely Old School Vegas! I highly recommend this business!

Yelp
Steak and eggs for $10.99 - great value! It comes with eggs, potatoes and a bread (I opted for mashed potatoes and biscuits and gravy). I asked for medium rare and got medium (which was expected). Steak was actually delicious and pretty tender. Server was friendly and the dining area didn't reek of cigarette smell. I'll be going back!

Yelp
Excellent, serene, peaceful with well prepared food at excellent prices. Very respectful and friendly staff. One of my favorite places!

Yelp
Back here again ..... This place is a real hidden neighborhood gem. Kind of small, hidden away in an old plaza that looks like it was constructed in the 60's by the lake. Kind of off the beaten path, I.e Sahara ave. But certainly convenient if you want to dine here. We're not regulars but it seems like 85% of the diners are. We got there at around 11:50 yesterday. Jenn was our server. My dining companion wanted the Tuesday spaghetti special but our server said it couldn't be served until 12:00 and was pretty rigid about that. (The specials availability time was clearly posted so it was our fault for not paying attention). Anyway, the restaurant was pretty much filled after about 10 minutes. My dining partner ordered the Reuben and I ordered their classic burger. The Reuben was huge and well prepared. Now on to my burger... I think it was an 8 oz patty, pretty standard, not specially ground with a special meat combination or anything but it was cooked the way I ordered. Melted cheese and crispy (probably oven baked bacon) a thick slice of red onion, (which I really liked) , two slices of tomato and a slab of iceberg lettuce. I'm not a fan of lettuce on sandwiches so I gave that huge hunk to my dining partner. We both got skinny fries which were crispy and not too salty. Pretty tasty meal and we both only finished half our sandwiches. Sorry, no pictures this time, too busy eating. Tip for prospective diners..... the place is popular and fills up fast at traditional meal times so pls accordingly.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE this place! We come here frequently to get the steak and eggs deal. I get my steak medium rare with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. This is a cute spot, I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes to be sat. They have a mimosa/Bloody Mary deal on the weekends, $3.50 each until 2pm. The menu looks amazing, but we always get the steak and eggs. I will try something else next time! I promise! This is a great Mom and Pop little location, make sure to stop and check out the views of the lake before or after you eat.

Yelp
Their food is pretty good! Another hidden gem that I never knew would actually have some tasty eatings. I've gone a few times and I've always gotten the cheeseburger and garlic Parmesan fries. The Cheeseburger is massive and priced fairly decent. Cannot speak for the service because I've always gotten the food to go. Will have to go in next time and actually sit down inside to experience their service.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been eating here for years and have always loved their food but today the food was terrible. I ordered my favorite, steak & eggs. The steak was ultra salty and full of grizzle. Also, the potatoes were greasy and tasted old. I was told by the server the steaks now come to them pre-marinated. That's the end of their steak and eggs breakfast for me. What a shame. We also had a longer than usual wait time for our server to take our order. The restaurant was not even half full.
google avatar

leo o.

Yelp
The only thing I've had here is the fish and chips. But it is amazingly well done especially for a bar. The pricing is very very reasonable as well.

Yelp
I am an out of towner and I came to this place with my parents who live in Vegas. This place seems very much like a locals spot, and a popular one at that. Their prices are incredibly low and the service is friendly! However their food just seems soooo greasy and a lot of their food is just cooked with wayyyyy too much garlic--and this is coming from someone who absolutely LOVES garlic in cooking/food. But the food here just seemed drowned in grease and too much garlic (if there's such a thing). For the price, I can see why this place is popular. But, for the grease, meh.

Yelp
Hi, we stopped over at the Lakes Lounge for a late lunch today. My brother started with soup, Cream of Chicken w/wild rice. He said it was very good. (I tried a little and agreed!!) I ordered a app. of Fried Zucchini, handmade and very nicely done. For lunch I ordered their Chicken Pot Pie, I liked it very much. The heavy cream added a nice background flavor. Plus of course stopped it from breaking. My brother ordered their hand breaded Fried Chicken. He was ot pleased. He did not like the breading. I tried the drum stick and thought it tasted bland, no seasoned flour? WE will not order that dish again. My brother decided to order a dessert. He got the Apple Cobbler which he enjoyed. I tried some as well. I thought it was very nice plus the added ice cream made a nice finish to the meal. All together it was only $50 plus tip which is very reasonable!! We will be back for sure.

Joel F.

Yelp
My favorite place for fish and chips. The service is good only thing is no phone orders. Nice little place. Just wish they took phone orders.
google avatar

Eve Y.

Yelp
The food was good, and the service was good as well. We ordered chicken tenders, chicken picatta, steak and eggs, pasta and chicken pot pie. I love the price too
google avatar

Alfie L.

Yelp
first time trying the Lakes and tried their New York steak and eggs for $10.99 24/7. Great quality of meat, excellent friendly service and best value. This should be your go-to place for a convenient reasonably-priced diner. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Good food and service. A little dark and noisy, but still not bad. Will be back again.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
We've had lunch there a few times. It's like a senior citizen center, but less fun. Food is edible, nothing to write home about. The lunchtime bartender is cold enough to freeze the beer! Worst customer service attitude that I've seen in Las Vegas in years. There are way too many places to spend money and be treated a lot better. Go to the Thai restaurant in the same plaza.
google avatar

Lida M.

Yelp
After giving 5 stars for the last 5 years or more to a restaurant that I considered an extension of our kitchen to eat in because consistently the food and service were excellent, I have to update it to a one star!! Lately, the service & also the food have taken a nose dive. It is the new normal for them to have many empty tables and let the people wait outside literally for 30-50 minutes lining up without apology! The badly trained new host seat two people at a 5 people table while a group of 5 are waiting! Happened twice to my husband & I. It is also new normal to forget part of the food order and bring it so late when you are done with the meal and still charge. Also they forget to get your cocktails & drinks! after asking 3 times they finally come when you are done with your food! Very Very disappointing & sad! Ruined my brunch on Sunday & dinner last night! Hope they fix the situation soon or we will never come back again.

Yelp
The Lakes Lounge in Summerlin is a true hidden gem, offering a cozy, small-town vibe that's hard to find in Vegas. If you're looking for a place with a dark, clean, homey atmosphere where everybody knows each other, this is the spot for you. It's like walking into your favorite local hangout where you instantly feel at home. What makes The Lakes Lounge stand out, besides the welcoming environment, is the incredible value. You get huge portions at unbeatable prices. Where else can you get a New York steak and eggs for just $9.99 or a delicious Chicken Parmesan for $14.99? The Sunday turkey dinner special is an absolute must--massive and loaded with all the fixings, perfect for a hearty weekend meal. On top of the great food, the staff is fantastic. Danni gets all my jokes and they treat you like family, always friendly and attentive, making sure you feel taken care of. The cooking here is exactly what you want from a local spot--simple, satisfying, and made with care. If you love the charm of a small-town diner but want it right here in Summerlin, The Lakes Lounge is the perfect place. Great food, great prices, and great people--what more could you ask for? Highly recommend!

Yelp
Small low key lounge with the best daily specials and reasonable prices in this area. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
google avatar

Marie I.

Yelp
Nothing fancy.. Just a decent place with decent prices. They have daily specials. There is a bar if you like some drinks with your meal. Service is not great. Even if the place is not crowded. It took us 40 minutes of sitting before our orders were taken. Tables that we sat 10-20 minutes after us, by another server...received their meals rather quickly. When our food finally arrived. It was cold to the touch. The cooks definitely did our orders correctly... but our server was slow to get it out. I would still come just for the price, and quality of food... with a different server...
google avatar

Tiffiny K.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly Dining room is tidy, dimly lit and calm. There are tables as well as booths and charts without arms. It's a door within a door situation but should not impede mobility devices including wheelchairs. Food was a mixed bag. My chicken francese was very good and I would eat those well seasoned veggies all day. My husband's fish and chips were not good. Neither of us would eat those again. All in all a good place though and for the price you can't really go wrong. We'll be been to try other items for sure.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
What can you say about the Lakes Lounge? I've been coming here since 2007 and they have consistently been delicious ...even through the Covid years. The prices have gone up a few dollars but for a good hearty comfort style meal, This is the place to go. The burgers never disappoint. The steak sandwich has always been a hit. The service could be a little slow at times, but they make up for it. I remember when I first came and the place had a "crusty crab" feel to it but now it has a nicer diner style going for it and It is always clean. Whenever we can't decide on what we want to eat The Lakes Lounge is our go to.
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Cozy, kind and speedy service, overall great value at The Lakes Lounge. Can't forget to mention the beautiful scenery outside too. First timer - I walked in on a Monday and was in heaven with the amazing aroma of baby back ribs. I didn't realize until we were seated that there is a daily specials menu and the ribs were the deal of the day. Ordered the full rack of ribs. They were so tasty! Also ordered the fish and chips - fish was *chef's kiss* Onion rings were fabulous as well. Did not get a photo of our main courses because they were enjoyed immediately after the plates were set down lol! We'll have to come back to try all the other specials that have caught our eyes. Can't wait!
google avatar

Chanel B.

Yelp
Great local spot and hole in the wall in the Lakes area. My brother loves their morning steak and eggs and they also have daily specials. When you enter one door on your left, it is dark and there are a few tables and booths on one side, the other side, you'll find a bar. I've never been to the bar area. For what you pay for, it's a great deal if you happen to be at the Lakes. The service is quick and accommodating.
google avatar

Jenna H.

Yelp
I heard about this place from a close friend and we tried it the other week. First of its definitely tucked away I can see why people would drive past it. It's in this very cute shopping center. When you enter there are 2 doors one for bar and one for restaurant. I will say they did have it decorated so cute for Halloween. The restaurant is small but cozy. I orordered the fish and chips. They were out of this world. I love that they are smaller than traditional fish and chip fillets and you will see in the Pic. Price wise I think 12.99 is a steal. I also got a side coleslaw for a few dollars which was just as good. This place is open 24 hours. Definitely worth it. I bet you breakfast here is amazing! Loved it.

Will W.

Yelp
Daily special. Fresh food right out the grill Get your prime rib on a sat. Stop on by and get your grub on

Michael G.

Yelp
Great place, reasonable pricing , we get breakfast to go virtually every Saturday morning. Jen is OUTSTANDING, food excellent and always our order is perfect!!! Definitely a hidden gem!!
google avatar

William D.

Yelp
Great service and food. They have daily specials and happy hour as well. The food is flavorful and made well. There is a bar and a separate dining section. I love their fried chicken.

Darin D.

Yelp
Good Food but the noon bartender rides a broom! colder than dry ice! been going there for years but the atmosphere now is horrible spend your money elsewhere! have fun life is to short!

Ann H.

Yelp
So many things to say about our experience as a family for the last few years first it was a cozy great ambience for Friday nights with prime rib and it was fun to know that we just made the cut to get it our servers Leslie and Dani had always the best smiles and friendly service. They made us feel like we were visiting family because they would pay attention to our son as well. We are so lucky to have this so close to us and pricing with food quality makes it our first choice for family night. The most recent change is no honey mustard and Friday night prime rib has been moved to Saturday based on our weekend schedule weren't able to go as regularly as we wish we could get it back to that so we always have the fond memory of something. We can always count on food and seeing our friends, Leslie, Dani and the Team.

Yelp
Fantastic place hidden away in The Lakes area. Food is outstanding most everything is from scratch. Specials every night. Prime Rib on Saturday was amazing. Do yourself a favor and go check it out.

Carol B.

Yelp
Very good food and what Great service. The servers were so kind and attentive, a big shout out to them ! With so many people divided these days and unfriendly ,it was so great to see kind and caring workers ! With hope, we will someday return to kindness . The food was fresh and excellent . The clam chowder was delicious . Fish and chips , the French dip sandwich and the grilled chicken with spinach and mushrooms was really good too. We wish it was a larger dining room tho, I'm sure most people I'm sure would agree.
google avatar

Pam Y.

Yelp
Tasty & economical menu! Lots of comfort food choices like French dip, fish and chips, etc.

Yelp
Hi! I've been coming to the lakes lounge since I moved to the area in april 2023. I've been a long time fan of the buffalo cauliflower and I'm so sad to see it's left the menu! :( bartender on grave, Jason, wasn't super great... but I'll be back regardless cause I love the steak sandwich.

Yelp
This place is a super cozy "old fashioned" make you feel good ambiance on the restaurant side. Additionally, the servers have always been very friendly. There's not an abundance of tables so prime eating times could incur a wait. I went at an oddball 3pm and there was plenty of seating. Originally I was going in for the Chicken Francese, but reading the menu, the Chicken Piccata, it looked very similar, almost identical but with the addition of capers and sautéed spinach. I opted to try the piccata. The pluses - it comes with a choice of soup or salad. I chose the salad which is your standard iceberg tomato croutons. The main entree is a BIG portion! For a $10.99 special you get your money's worth. Another big plus is every item on my plate was served hot - spinach was delicious, vegetables well-seasoned and cooked all the way thru (yes!), rice pilaf had a nice texture. What I thought was just Ok was the actual chicken and piccata sauce. The chicken may have been a breaded pan seared item but it tasted more like a deep friend item so it wasn't as light/fluffy as other piccata dishes I have had. However, the chicken portion was a great portion. The piccata sauce itself I felt was a little thick compared to other places. This one was more like a thick gravy than a loose garlic buttery sauce. My personal preference is more of the classic piccata sauce. Overall, I only was able to finish half of my plate because of the giant portion. It is great to see this local establishment still give such value to its loyal customers. I do have to note that while the menu reads served 24 hrs, the restaurant side itself closes at a certain time and the bar side is the only option left late evening until the other side reopens. I did walk in once late night and there were only two customers on the bar side but the bartender refused to let me order food unless I was playing a machine. Again, it was not busy at all with only two other customers in there. I asked about this incident on a separate visit and a server told me that it's the bartender's discretion and some may or may not let you order. This makes it a little iffy for later dining as it's not consistent if you'll get food without mandatory gaming.

Yelp
Amazing food but the last server we had it took forever to served the food and by the time serve it's cold already. But otherwise we go back there and hopefully we don't get the same server

Yelp
It's a smaller than expected space with dim lighting. Service was good and the servers were kind. Drinks and food came out quickly. Food wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. But I'm not complaining when you get $11 steak and egg breakfast.

Yelp
"What happened to this place? It used to be our favorite" The servers are rude, they seem drunk or high... Our family will never come back.

Yelp
I was having an insane craving for fish and chips, apparently my 87 year old Grandma was wanting the same thing. She had read a Facebook post about the 10 best place in Vegas to get some, and someone said, "don't bother with all the other, just go to the Lakes Lounge." So off we went. It's a dimly lit little spot with maybe 15 tables that are constantly full--they turn and burn here. The service was good and the food came fast. The ham steak was giant, as big as the plate itself, and was easily the best I've ever had. The piece de resistance was the fish and chips........phenomenal! Delicious! Amazing! I have stopped thinking about it sense. Just GO!!! Because I I'm planning my next meal!
