Really good food. Must try if you haven't been. Our server was really good. We had a sampler platter to try everything and that's the way to go if you haven't been before or your first time trying polish food. Get the city chicken which is actually pork awesome flavor moist melt in your mouth. The place could use a little up lift paint was cracking and drop ceiling was stained. Chicken noodle soup broth was good but noodles were not and there was no actual chicken in it not even a tiny little piece. Clam chower was good. Crepes were good but only sweet kind. I suggest making savory ones as well. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

If you like Polish food then you should definitely try here! They have Polish dishes like stuffed cabbage, city chicken, pierogis, etc. They also have sandwiches and salads also. Service was quick. Food was delicious. I had stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes and veggies. Good food for the price!

May 2023 - came here for lunch on mother's day. Very busy, kitchen was backed up but the staff did a great job. I ordered the polish combo and finished it with a full belly. I would say #1 bigos, #2 lakeside combo and #3 polish combo (picture) are the top meals. My kids ordered grilled cheese but 2 of 3 ordered dill pickle soup. August 2022 - brought two of my kids out to dinner. They both had pickle soup and they are under 7. They loved the soup. I ordered the Polish Stew (pictured) and it was awesome. Very good. I am going to be selfish and wish the bowl was bigger. April 2022 - came here after church with my 3 daughters and wife. Food was great! Wife and I ordered the Lakeside combo (pictured). Always good and has one of everything. Best polish food in the area! Staff is always great with the family. 4 yr old loves the pickle soup. February 2021 - Awesome polish food! You have to try the city chicken.

If you like Polish food you have to try this place. I see why they were named best Polish restaurant so many times. I had the meatlovers omelet and the Dill Pickle soup. Both were unusual and excellent. The omelette has the usual sausage with Dearborn Ham and (get this) kielbasa. In addition to adding great flavor the texture was also a pleasant surprise. For the soup, think of potato soup with small slices of dill pickle dropped in. Just enough to taste it but not at all overpowering.

We went to Lakeside Family restaurant because we heard from others it was great polish food. People were right as the food was very tasty and good! I had the dill pickle soup and a polish combo (sausage, pierogi, kraut, and city chicken). All the food had great flavor and was delish! On the other hand, what wasn’t nice was the inside of the restaurant. The paint on the walls was peeling and the place had an old building vibe. To sum up, food was a 5 (authentic great tasting polish food) and the inside of restaurant was a 2. Overall a 3.5 for me and next time I would just get carryout.

It's has been a bit since we have been at the restaurant. O my it's still the best. The dill pickle soup is the best and city chicken is almost like my mom's and the pierogi pan fried is excellent

First visit - food is great! I thought the stuffed cabbage was GREAT! Potato pierogis great also. Potato pancakes and crepe with apples tasted like you'd expect but you can't do much with them. Not pictured is an omelet that was good and good portions. A couple weeks later on a sunday,, I picked up a quart of Czernina for my mom who was sick. She loved it! She says that it was sweet and that's how she liked it. Looking forward to going back! Service fast and friendly. I saw reviews complaining of the decor and actually knocking Lakeside down a rating. Get a life people!!! The place is not dirty. Table, chairs, utensils, etc are all clean. Staff, friendly. They don't make you take a chair or a light fixture home ffs. If you're going to be triggered by the dated decor, stay home. Or carryout. And make sure you do curbside because god forbid ypu step inside 🙄

First time eating pierogies! Husband and I both got a Polish combo (3 pierogies), so we tried one of each (fried for all, and then the 6th was a boiled farmers cheese(we also got a fried one) as recommended by waitress). They were so yummy. Oh my gosh. The city chicken (pork skewered, fried and then covered in gravy) was heaven. Stuffed cabbage was typical (I'm generally not a fan). The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I'm happy we tried it out. The windows made it seem so nice for a family dinner. I recommend.
