So I go here for lunch quite often BUT today was the first time I went for breakfast!!! 🩷 And I'm soooooo excited. I love breakfast and brunch more than anything and the Lakeview Grocery crew just surpassed many others and tied with the best in the city! I will be back... And often 😂

Steak night 👌 We eat their hot bar so often that I decide to try their steaknight on Thursday last week. I'm so impressed with the portion and sides that come with the Steak. Ordered medium rare, and it was cooked on point. Not the best cut, but for the price, I can't complain.

Google
What happened to the recruiting process at Lakeview grocery?? Revolving door of check out people with zero customer service training coupled with an "I don't care attitude." If it's so difficult to get good hires, perhaps you should look into automated self check out. Beyond this issue, it's been our go-to grocer for 20 years and 1.5 blocks from our house. No complaints on product and convenience

As someone who has had breast cancer run in my family, I really appreciated speaking with the United Breast Cancer Foundation team. KEEP THESE GUYS COMING! So sweet.

Google
This place just ain’t your average Grocery, I’ve actually never shopped for food! I go straight to the Deli Section, the food buffet is AWESOME! I’m still mad at myself for just recently finding out about this place! The Folks that prepare the food in the Deli should really earn a good living!😎🔥🔥🔥

Google
I have been looking for a grocery to shop at and am lucky that I found this place. After walking in City Park, I ended up heading in this direction to go to Metairie. So I stumbles upon this lakeview gem. I had to go in and I only got a few things. The store has a nice selection of groceries, wine, hard liquor, hot food, bakery, and sushi. There is even a small restaurant inside of the grocery called The Cove. The prices were more than my local grocery, but for quality I would happily pay the extra fee and will be returning.

Nice place. Friendly staff. Good variety of products. Good location. A little bit pricey. Limited parking lot, but it's free parking. Handicap accessible. Kid-friendly. Next to many shops and cafes.

Deli is always delicious!! Fried fish/shrimp, salmon, and crawfish cornbread dressing are my favorites.

Yelp
801 Harrison Ave New Orleans, La 70124 Lakeview is getting better and better every day. It's like a day out with friends. I start out with a budget for myself and end up buying more than I planned. But "dat's" ok, because everyone who enjoys my cooking says, gurl, you should be a chef, now dat's Nu"awlings. As I rolled along, I ran into one of the staffers at the deli area (Pamela) is her name, who have her specialty dishes in the deli department. My good friend was enjoying a sample of the chicken salad, the shrimp, of which you could make a salad instead of just boiled and seasoned, and the potato salad was so good, I bought more to take home. You could hear my friend and I going hmm, hmm , hmmm, way at the cashier's area, we were in tasting heaven. Pamela made you feel like you were visiting family, her specials were absolutely deeeee licious. When you make the curb on the other side of Pamela's & staffers, there's more Chefs, Sous Chefs, kitchen staff, they always have a smile and they are the best cooks and the best food one can find in a market. Have mercy y'all, there's everything you can think of.,especially chesesie ham, oh I know it's spelled wrong , you won't notice what's incorrect when you eat the ham on a PoBoy, uh huh. There's all the libations you can name all year round. I'm telling you, there everything you want. I'm an up and down the aisle gal, I don't need a list, I'm happy when I leave out broke, that how stocked Lakeview is. I know you're laughing but I've got what I needed and don't have to run around the city to get what I need at home and won't have to come back until next week. Now don't forget go and holla at Pamela and the whole deli staff, the Pizza stand ( and the pizzas are hot out of the oven. This is nat'Ully naw'lins y'all. Ahm outta heah, be safe " MO" pics will come later.

Yelp
Used to love the food but had baked fish and was a piece could not eat was unable to cut and gave up as half left. Asked the manager if OK to just snag another piece and was told NO you already ate half of it! I said I ate lunch there everyday and will deny me 1 piece of fish? Totally ridiculous never heard of this so wont be back. Is a rip off anyway. I dont know her name but totally a surprise. They charge for water anyway is crazy.

Yelp
The hot food section and cold are some of the best around. We love shopping here and the kids baskets are perfect.

Yelp
My fav neighborhood grocery! Large variety of fresh items and the prepared food section is awesome. The store is always always clean and organized which I love. Service is what's great and staff is always ready to assist when needed. I can get in and out pretty easily as well. I've been shopping here for the past 10 years. Also enjoy the Harrison marketplace in the spring & fall. + parking, clean/organized store, fresh food, prepared food is delicious and always presented nicely, catering is also a plus, deli, cheese selections, part trays

Lawrence P.

Yelp
Yes, I recommend Lakeview Grocery they usually have all of the items that I'm shopping for, even though a bit higher priced...quality cost. The store is very clean and well organized, and staff is great. I wish that they had shopping carts though for the disable, but that is not a deal breaker.

Coral M.

Yelp
I just paid $3.78 for a quarter slice of a watermelon with no taste. Maybe when packaging the slices, a piece of the watermelon should be tasted in order to throw it out. Worst piece of watermelon I have ever had.

Julie A.

Yelp
Rude employees and cold food Good management but rotten food service people This is not the right area of the city for these types of employees

Yelp
This is my favorite neighborhood grocery for so many reasons. It's close, convenient, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful, and they carry Boar's Head deli meat - which my family can't seem to do without. Please know that this isn't Winn Dixie or Rouse's. This is a smaller, neighborhood grocery. They carry most of what I need, and they have a great deli section with quality cheeses and meats. They have a sushi chef on staff - and the sushi is pretty good. They have a great salad bar - the chicken salad is delicious! They serve hot breakfast, lunch and dinner - give their catfish a try. I pick it up for almost every party I throw and it's always s huge hit, and their homemade tartar sauce is soooo good. My only complaint is that their prices are a bit higher than the larger grocery stores, but I completely understand that I'm paying for convenience. It's nice to be able to park my car and be in and out of the grocery in 5 minutes if I'm only picking up s couple of items. And it's CLEAN!!! This means a lot to me as well.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Many of the staff members treat customers terribly. (The high school students are an exception.)

Yelp
This review will be like one of those charts where you answer questions and are directed one way or the other. Before I begin, I need to explain a few things: 1. I do not live in Lakeview. 2. I like beer. Do you care that I don't live in Lakeview? If yes, stop reading. If no, continue. Do you like beer and have found yourself in Lakeview? If yes, you should come here. If no, disregard all these words. The end. And now for the rest of the review. A while back I was at my brother's house and it was determined that we needed beer. Dealing with me alone requires beer, but add in the rest of my siblings and that means lots of beer is needed. Since he didn't have any, we all loaded in his car and made the short trek to Lakeview Grocery. All of us loaded in a car must've been quite the sight, but the other Lakeviewites didn't even bat an eye when we rolled up. Inside we found a pretty extensive beer, wine, and liquor section. My guess is that folks who live here need it to cope with Nola city government, but regardless of the reason, the beer selection was pretty nice. We loaded up, rolled out, and shared some brews. The end. For real this time.

Yelp
And even still, 1 year later, rudest staff I've ever encountered. They must go out of their way to hire miserable people with attitudes. Absolutely ridiculous to go into a higher end grocery store, pay their prices, and consistently be treated like shit. Lots of people need jobs right now, so maybe they should narrow down the selection pool. The woman working the deli counter this afternoon in the pink mask needs to find a job where she doesn't interact with the public. I walked off in the middle of my order b/c she was so agitated by my presence (which she didn't acknowledge the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd time she looked right at me) that it was unnerving. She didn't even get my order correct either (which I found out when I got home). Obviously I wasn't going to bother her with the rest of my cold cuts, or order my party trays while I was there. Lakeview Grocery missed out on about $300 worth of catering business, that will now go to Dorignac's. Although this place is up the street from my house, and convenient, every time I give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm grossly disappointed, and quite frankly, insulted. DONE.
google avatar

Victoria P.

Yelp
They have a very small selection but I needed something simple so I stopped in. Randy the cashier did not have good customer service at all. She didn't even say hello when I started checking out. When she gave me the receipt I replied "thank you!" And she said nothing. The security guard also watched me the whole time I was in the vegetable section...

Yelp
It was a long wait for another grocery store in "Central Lakeview" since Lakeview Fine Foods was destroyed. Now that the wait is over, I am happy to say I shop here at least twice a week. It's usually to buy small quantities of groceries, and often consists of me picking up something to cook for the same day. It's so close that I often find myself here several times a week just to pick up a few fresh items or even to just pick up some lottery tickets. The prices here a a little higher than some of the major supermarkets in Metairie, but the convenience of shopping close to home and supporting Lakeview businesses negates the slighly higher prices. They have a great selection of fresh cuts of meat and the fish section isn't too bad either. I can't say that I have tried any hot plates from the deli, but I have made several salads from the salad bar. Now that I'm Yelping, I'm sure to be considered a regular here.

Yelp
An older store in the Lakeview Area, this locally owned grocery store serves the Lakeview Community. Open lanes, well stocked aisles, one can be found out perusing the aisles for extended periods, making selection choices one after another. I find their pricing to be more than Wallyworld, but as expected, its not a chain & doesn't have the finances of big box retail... Support Locally Owned. Checking out is easy, paper or plastic? Cash or credit? I've seen a time or two where the bagger has assisted a patron with loading groceries into their car; so like the days of yesteryear!!! Awesome!!!

Grace L.

Yelp
Service is absolutely horrible. Went there on Tuesday June 15 to buy a few groceries and no one was at the lines that were "open". Finally found a cashier and put all the items on the belt and walked to the cashier and he was playing on his phone. No greeting or anything. Finally someone else came and said "he was busy" and asked me to move all of my items to another lane. Ridiculous. I would rather starve to death then ever buy groceries here again.

Yelp
Best Rotisserie Chicken Ever! I love grocery store whole rotisserie chickens. They're tasty, moist and tender, super convenient and until recently all pretty consistently good. That was until I tried Lakeview Grocery's Italian rotisserie chicken. They put some kind of zesty spicy Italian seasoning on it that is next level. I don't even usually like the skin, but it was so crispy and delish and the chicken had tons of flavor too Yum! I will make special trips now just to get this chicken. I like the grocery store too. It's not big, neighborhood size and some items can be a little pricier but it's also high quality including their breads and Boar's Head cold cuts too. But try the Italian rotisserie chicken you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES! This is the 3rd time of purchasing a food (all either fresh canned and sealed) item and it was past the expiration date. :(( The coolers for the meats also barely blow enough cool air to keep the food fresh. The associates are always sweet and helpful but whoever is doing the restock and maintenance, is clearly not checking anything.
google avatar

Yelp
They have a very good breakfast buffet. The usual selections are available with 3 variations of scrambled eggs, bacon, link and sausage patties, waffles, biscuits, gravy, etc. The surprise is the batter dipped, pan fried chicken tenders. Nicely peppered big strips of chicken breast. Incredible! Nice with the waffles or just by themselves. They are often available in party packs in the section next to the sushi. They are so good. This is about a product they now carry in the frozen pizza section - Wild Mike's Pizza. I bought the Ultimate Pizza version to cook in my oven. Claims are "no artificial anything. Made from scratch, 100% all natural". Yeah, whatever. This is some of the best pizza I have chopped down on, ever. Great crust and ample toppings including sausage, pepperoni, onions, black olives, and peppers. The claim is "Over 2 pounds" and I have no reason to doubt. I prepared it per the box instructions at 400 degrees for 18 minutes. My choice was to add 2 minutes under the broiler for some extra browning of the thick crust edges. Great taste and I will be buying more.

Yelp
First off: This place has kids sized carts! Not just one or two of them either... something upwards of 20. When the Things saw that they just about died and went to heaven. So about the store. It has it's own parking lot which is very important along Harrison since street parking is at a premium. The store itself is nice and clean. A little tight in places (like the soda aisle). The employees are very friendly and helpful. Price wise they aren't as expensive as Roberts or Whole Foods but they aren't as cheap as Rouses. Their selection of local food is really really good. They have some things (like luzianne bbq sauce) that Rouses doesn't carry. Their ready made food is quite good. Not gourmet but definitely worth the little money they charge for it. Mommy notes: KID SIZED CARTS!!!, employees don't ignore kids when spoken to, lots of fried chicken drumsticks and napkins.

FW A.

Yelp
Beware of prepared food. Just threw away the raw chicken, the part that I didn't unknowingly ingest, from their "prepared" food area. I called and was not reassured by their level of concern. They did tell me to call back if I got sick. When pressed, a refund was offered if I could produce the receipt. Meanwhile, I'm thinking about the sinewy raw chicken I just swallowed, hence this post... Fair warning.

Yelp
Conveniently located grocery store with friendly staff, fast service, and a great selection of prepared meals! We come here at least once a week to supplement our usual grocery runs, for special ingredients, or for a beer run. The staff is very kind and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes at the register. The produce selection is limited and there are no bulk items. This grocery store is small so they have all of the items you may need but only one or two brands in one size. I've never done a comparison on prices either. The parking lot is also extremely treacherous for both cars and pedestrians so be safe when you're walking in! Great for a quick grocery run but would suggest other stores for your weekly haul.
google avatar

Sandy D.

Yelp
Terrible experience today. Tried to order pizza. The woman behind the counter ignored me for a while. When I placed my order she said she would get the pizza guy. I heard three employees arguing about who was responsible for serving pizza. A guy showed up & was bitching that it was not his job. He went outside and got the "pizza guy" who was apparently taking a break. When he came in, he wiped the sweat of his face, put on gloves and served me my pizza. At that point I just wanted to leave. Don't think I'll ever come back even though I live in the area.
google avatar

Grace G.

Yelp
Most things about this store are fine and it's usually a pleasant experience. But the produce section is absolutely atrocious... Do NOT buy fruit or vegetables here. Three separate occasions I have bought fruit from there (Lakeview Grocery branded) only to get home and discover that it is absolutely rotten. Not only that but every time I buy produce from there it only about a day before growing mold or rotting. Skip Lakeview Grocery. Go to Big Easy Fresh Market instead.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
This grocery store has some really good prepared food options. I work near by and it's nice to come here and feel like I can grab something on the healthier side without having made it at home. They have a fajita bar which is really tasty and a great idea! Nothing like being able to eat healthy on something that isn't just the salad bar. They also have a large sushi variety. Their premade dips and snacks are perfect for any potluck or occasion where you don't want to show up empty handed. The better cheddar is a personal fav. I also found a bottle of wine that was in a plastic bottle (this was essential for drinking wine by the pool). Their prices may be slightly higher than the large chain grocery stores but I believe that is to be expected. Overall my experiences here have been clean, quick, and positive.

Yelp
Very rude girl cashier in deli checkout. No customer service skills. Asked if I could checkout with her 3 times but she continued chatting with co--worker.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good neighborhood grocery store. Has your typical items plus some hard to find groceries. This store also has freshly made sushi, made to order sandwiches, a great selection for hot food for lunch and dinner and some other really good options. They also have a restaurant attached to the store that is just as great. Checkout never takes long and the store is always clean and well stocked. Love coming here to shop and ran some necessities!

Stanton M.

Yelp
Cheeseburger Po-Boy tonight. Same as always - very good! Consistant, great food. Our go to place for prepared food and Po-Boys to order. Thank you for being in the neighborhood.

Yelp
SO consider this review as a review of the multiple experiences I have getting the only things I almost ever get there: limes, beer...and chicken. Ample parking, check, clean business, check, very nice staff, check. This neighborhood grocery store is very pleasant for those who live in this area, and, of course, myself, when I'm making a beer and chicken run before heading over to a friend's house. This isn't my usual "buy all my groceries" place, so please keep that in mind. The limes...always a little over fair market value. i.e. 3 for $1.00 here, 4 for a $1.00 elsewhere. Beer...they have a good selection of wine, beer and liquor for the size of the store albeit a little bit more expensive than my usual grocery store, but when I'm looking for a larger than 6 pack, no bottles, light Mexican beer in the way of Pacifico, Modelo or Tecate; it's never consistent which one they'll have a 12/24 pack. While sometimes it makes it interesting, there are other times I'm just bummed. I just started getting into their fried chicken. As Faith had mentioned, they really do have an ample amount of ready made dips and food to take home, and I really enjoy that. I've recently been laying claim to not 1, not 2, but 3 fried drumsticks when I visit. The batter isn't Popeyes, but it's not going to make you regret it 20 minutes after eating it. A very light spice to the skin, and always ample meat on the drumstick. I also like that they sell local products, like the new Creole Crackers there. This review really is more like a 3.5 star, but it's hard for me to justify the 4 stars when I probably should be buying the limes and beer at a closer grocer for less, and having the option of getting what I like instead of compromising.

Yelp
I am so excited that I will be living a few blocks away from this grocery. Here's why: -Wednesday afternoon outdoor local business market complete with band -soft serve ice cream machine -waffle bar on Sundays -Daily prepared food specials -salad bar -sandwich shop -boiled seafood -buy any fish or meat and they'll cook it for FREE! -super clean need I say more?
google avatar

Rene D.

Yelp
A great hallmark of a neighborhood! Big, beautiful deli, an adjacent restaurant, the kiddie-sized baskets are ingenious! While the prices for staples can be higher, the sale items are pretty good. The meat counter was pristine. Why 4 stars? The produce department wasn't as fresh as it should have been; those bagged salads were pretty mushy. Secondly, I asked a checker about a sale item. She told me, "I don't know - I'm not the one to ask." not the response you want from an employee.
google avatar

Sophie T.

Yelp
My favorite grocery store in the area! I love the food they make for the hot bar. The salad bar is always delicious as well, and their coffee bar is a treat. Considering this is a neighborhood grocery, this place has great options!!! I recommend.
google avatar

Marielle S.

Yelp
This is a neat little grocery store. It reminded me a little of Whole Foods, but not as snobby. I came here looking for something specific and was helped right away. The staff is friendly and everything is really easy to find.
google avatar

Mardi C.

Yelp
I stumbled in here cause I am always looking to make groceries. this is a fun store. jam packed with all kinda stuff. Made a point of shopping here twice now, and was fun to come home with things we have never tried. I like the music, I like the people who work here, and I like the atmosphere. Better than roberts, better than whole foods, and just all around well rounded. I got lots of stuff for a party at my house, and didn't disappoint. I will be back many times over. thanks.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
This is one of the best groceries if you don't want to cook a big meal and want a quick grilled steak, chicken or fish all of which they cook for you for free. Just buy the meat and they prepare it for you in their kitchen so you don't have to use yours. They season everything well and do a great job in the kitchen. They have a wide selection salad bar and seafood specials on Friday, a huge BBQ plate for $7 on Saturday. Their prices on other items or up there so do your shopping wisely, but if you want a great pick up meal at a great price this is the place. Just do your heavy duty grocery shopping elsewhere.
google avatar

Michelle Q.

Yelp
We live close by and go to this grocery out of convenience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The store is always clean. I feel that the prices are a bit high, but I guess that it's because we are in lake view. I like that they have various trays of sandwiches, chicken, etc. . . available everyday. I know that if I need to bring a prepared food item to a party or function I can count on this store. The wine and beer selection is pretty well stocked.

Daniel D.

Yelp
The staff here are so friendly, you'll want to come back again and again! I had to stop by here because I didn't want to drive back to Metairie or spend a ton of money at Roberts. I'm happy I did! I was greeted by every single employee here. From the buggy boy who went out of his way to greet and welcome me, to the sushi guy (from who I didn't even attempt to buy food from), and finally the cashier. They were all very friendly. I grabbed only some red beans and a bag of rice. The total was very comparable to the grocery chains in Metairie, which was the cherry on the top. I will be returning to this store!

Courtney E.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Highest prices with the worst service. AND the produce is very often rotten and dated on food is expired... check your dates people. And don't expect the management to be any better. I came here today because of its close proximity to my house. Never again though. I'll drive a little bit further next time.

C C.

Yelp
if i could review zero stars. in the middle of a lunch rush with no people i ordered a club sandwich and it took 45 minutes for 4 people in the kichen to make it. if you don't want to make sandwiches, dont sell them.
google avatar

Faith A.

Yelp
Lakeview Grocery is a great neighborhood grocery store with a great local selection. My favorite thing about this place is all the prepared foods making an impromptu wine and apps party possible. Just looking at the variety of dips made me want to scoop them all in my basket can call all my friends for a dip extravaganza. They also have a and order type grill called "The Cove" that offers specials every day of the week. Wednesday is $10 steak night. That is just cray! They will also grill any meat that you purchased at the store for you so you can go home with dinner ready. How convenient is that?!
google avatar

Perrey L.

Yelp
I pop in here more and more lately. The first time I went I thought it was sort of expensive, but I have learned that you can do really well here if you pay attention to the staples and don't try to fill the whole pantry/fridge when you shop here. It is a bit cramped, with narrow, high-shelved, dark-ish aisles, but I have never seen it even slightly crowded and have always walked right through the check out (er, paying, of course!). The layout takes some getting used to, but once you learn it you're golden. The tellers and management are super friendly and always go out of their way to be conversational and welcoming. The produce and deli are very well-equipped, and have plenty of variety.
google avatar

Yeashan R.

Yelp
This is one of those grocery stores that makes it difficult for customers who use things like EBT or WIC. Nice products but I can't support that kind of business.
google avatar

Relle N.

Yelp
This is a great grocery store to get your fresh veggies and fruits. Public service announcement: you will spend a pretty penny here mainly because there are always healthier or organic options to choose from. Your best bet is to come prepared with a list and ideas for meal prepping. Lakeview reminds me of an old time grocery store- the kind I grew up shopping in. You will also see a lot of brands of foods and everyday-use items that are different than the average brands. That detail alone is enough to make me visit again when I'm in the neighborhood. Attached to the grocery store is a restaurant which- especially during this time of year in New Orleans- makes way for fresh boiled crawfish and boiled shrimp! Yum!
google avatar

Pupul H.

Yelp
Awesome store with a Very convenient location. I love how I can buy my raw meat and have it cooked for no extra fee. I can even eat here before/after buying groceries. Staff are always nice & friendly. I LOVE coming here for the Harrison Ave Markeptplace.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
I go here ALMOST everyday. I have the European approach to shopping and this place helps me figure out what I'm in the mood for. I know it'll be fresh. The staff is always helpful and kind.
google avatar

Ziggy B.

Yelp
The best thing about this place is Harrison Cove the dinning area connected to the store. There are seafood specials on Fridays. A lot of attention to detail was observed setting up the dinning area. The hot food bar has excellent selections. If you want a feel for the ambiance of Lakeview spend a Friday afternoon with your friends and your pet here.

Damien A.

Yelp
I shop here because I live in lakeview and it is convenient. Although prices on certain items can be high, their roasted coffee bean price is good compared to other businesses who sell the same product and they sell Coffee Roasters of New Orleans who produce an excellent product. The coffee beans are roasted locally and delivered to our stores. Also, I find the staff to be friendly. I have never been a fan of flavored coffees. In the past, I have tried it and have always been disappointed. I like the taste of quality coffee beans and enjoy my coffee every morning. Twice in the past two months I have purchased whole bean coffee from Lakeview Grocery from their bulk bins expecting to purchase unflavored, quality coffee beans and only to discover once i am at home and have already brewed a pot of coffee that it was flavored coffee instead, even though the bin was labeled Royal Blend coffee beans which is most definitely one of Coffee Roaster's quality, unflavored coffees. It is either Lakeview Grocery or Coffee Roaster's dumping flavored beans into the wrong bulk bins. Anyway, it is very frustrating! Since i have already ground the beans and brewed coffee, I figure it is too late to return the product. For this reason, I give it 3 stars and I will start purchasing my coffee beans somewhere else.

Yelp
I really like this grocery store. They have a great selection of wine and prepared foods. The only thing that kills them is the customer service.I wish I could say it has only happened once but it's every single time I go. The last time I went, the girl at the register literally did not say one word to me. Not even after I asked her how she was doing. Sorry that I needed groceries today Courtney, please don't kill me with your eyes.

Yelp
Convenient, but if a price seems to good to be true, check the exp. date! I have bought dairy that was bad or went bad quickly, I am not convinced that it is stored properly. You do know that this is just another Roberts. Their prices change frequently. Check price and dating and check price again at the register.

Yelp
It's my local grocery. There is music outside when you walk up, often someone boiling crawfish, you can get hot food made, salad bar burrito bar, breakfast bar, espresso bar. They have a good variety for a smaller store. it's a great experience and the produce etc is always fresh.
