The Mid-Wilshire Lunch Guide

"It’s 61 degrees outside, Bill from finance has the AC on full blast, and you still haven’t taken your jacket off yet. When you need to warm your soul around Mid-Wilshire, you won’t find a better spot than Jinya. The tiny place inside a strip mall at Wilshire and La Brea is definitely a chain at this point, but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped serving solid bowls of ramen. Our go-to is the spicy umami miso or garlic-doused cha cha cha. Lines somehow never get too bad either." - brant cox

Laki Ramen is a small but stylish restaurant located in a mini mall, with a bright and thoughtfully designed interior that feels welcoming and modern. The atmosphere has a refined touch, likely influenced by the female owner-chef, which makes the dining experience feel a little more special. The signature chicken paitan ramen had a rich broth with plenty of chicken umami satisfying, though slightly heavy toward the end. The toppings were soft and moist, adding nice texture, even if not particularly remarkable. I also tried the vegan ramen made with soy milk and mushrooms, which offered a gentle, comforting flavor, a pleasant option for those looking for something lighter. The menu includes side dishes as well, and I was tempted by the matcha tiramisu, though unfortunately I was too full to try it. Overall, it was a good experience with some elegant touches, though not without small shortcomings. A solid place to visit once or twice, deserving around .

Google
Super solid ramen, very rich broth. Almost feels like tsukemen broth but you have an entire bowl of it. Noodles were cooked perfectly as well. Only feedback is that the seasoned egg is not really seasoned and overcooked so was mostly just a hard boiled egg

Amazing ramen ! Incredible customer service. Niki is a force of kindness and wonderful business owner who shares her love of food through her incredible recipes. Do yourself a favor and stop by this unique ramen spot. Casual but fancy ! Quick service and high quality. You won’t regret it. P.S. even the mochi is made w love. 💕

The most delicious Japanese ramen in LA. All the staff are friendly. Among them, Sakamoto is lashun the best.

Google
Easily top 5 ramen spot in Los Angeles. A classy, sit down, mom and pop joint. The food is high quality. The spicy chilli is unique. And the broth has a ton of flavor.

It was such a good dinner. I got the signature spicy ramen with pork chasiu and the dry ramen with truffle oil. Highly recommended. The place is so cute also.

Stopped by after a screening at the academy museum, & so glad I did because WOW that broth was something else! All the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection, the flavours just worked. Really friendly vibe here too. Will be back for sure 🍜

10/10 ramen. Dan Dan was incredible and didn’t feel too heavy either! Get the matcha tiramisu every time and just came for the popup with the gyoza restaurant from Japan.

Yelp
Ramen spot located in Mid-City and I think their specialty is their chicken broth. At least that's what my good friend who loves this place told me. The location feels unique in that it's kind of on an 'island' - the ramen spots I've been to in the city are typically in a 'cluster' of other Japanese spots or larger malls, etc. I came here on a Saturday night and the place was really relaxed. It wasn't crowded at all so I was able to get a table right away. The folks here are very friendly and service overall was wonderful. I ordered the Chicken Baitang Ramen (with chicken chashu) and some matcha milk to wash it down. This broth was rich, silky, and oh so delicious. The noodles were chewy and plentiful. Just a wonderful bowl of ramen all around. Parking was plentiful when I went, but I can see how it might get a little crowded during the busy times in the strip mall.

Yelp
Honestly solid ramen spot. I think that they specialize in chicken baitang ramen which is like a thicker broth consistency, similar to tonkotsu but chicken-based instead. So honestly I think this is one of the few times I have had chicken-based ramen but it's like fine, lol I enjoy it. I got the spicy chicken baitang ramen and my friend got the clam chowder ramen. I think we both enjoyed the ramen. I think the portions are fair even though at first the bowls look quite small imo, but they are surprisingly deep! I will say that EVEN THOUGH they told me that it was "very spicy" (at the Spicy level of spice) it was not spicy at all to me, lol. So if you like a bit of kick to your ramen, maybe get the spiciest level. But don't expect e.g. Orochon levels of spice lol. Parking is good if you get there earlier (we got there around 6pm) but it started to get busy on a Saturday night around 7pm and the parking lot was quite full when we left around 7:15pm. Also people don't know how to drive on Wilshire ugh. Overall SOLID ramen option in the Mid-Wilshire area though. Would def come back to try the other ramen options on the menu.

Yelp
Live down the street from Laki and am always more than satisfied with their light and warm bowls of ramen. I usually come on a Sunday morning after a late night out so the delicate broths perfectly sate my needs each time. I was first drawn to Laki because of their chicken based ramen which I find are harder to come by in Los Angeles. It was refreshing and a nice change of pace in terms of all the different ramen I've tried in LA. Will definitely be frequenting in 2025!!

Yelp
This is a charming ramen spot tucked in a small strip mall on Wilshire Boulevard, just a block away from LACMA and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The menu is compact but well-curated, focusing on three main Japanese noodle styles: ramen, tsukemen, and mazemen. For a quick lunch, we tried two noodle dishes, and both were outstanding. The Spicy Chicken Baitang Ramen was packed with flavor, leaving a lingering spicy kick that was absolutely satisfying. The tsukemen broth was complex and layered, while the noodles had the perfect chewy texture. We couldn't help but regret not having more time to explore the rest of the menu. As a self-proclaimed ramen snob, I rarely find places that truly impress me, but this one is a gem. If I lived in LA, it would definitely become a go-to spot. The service was another highlight--the young server was exceptionally sweet and cheerful. The dining space itself was modern, spotlessly clean, and inviting. I wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially for anyone visiting LACMA or the Academy Museum. You won't regret stopping by for a meal here--it's solid ramen that's worth your time

Yelp
This ramen shop is top tier and needs to be added to your bookmarks! The chef at Laki Ramen trained at Menya Takeichi, one of Japan's top chicken ramen chains. Their specialty is using chicken broth in their ramen, which is light and super flavorful! They have unique options like their rich & creamy Clam Chowder ramen which comes with Japanese scallops. Their Chicken Baitang Mazemen was packed with flavor, especially with the addition of truffle oil. Once you're almost done with your mazemen, you're given a small bowl of rice and a side of broth that you add to your leftovers at the end which makes for such a comforting dish! And you can't leave without getting their Matcha Tiramisu

Yelp
Think Blue Bottle meets Ramen Shop - that's the vibe at Laki Ramen, a 6-month-old establishment that's quietly making waves in the LA ramen scene. Earlier today, I swung by Laki Ramen after seeing a few mentions on Reddit, and let's just say, the reviews were spot on. Opened about 6 months ago, Laki Ramen is slowly but surely making waves in the area for their unique bowls. The ramen is above average, especially when compared with other top-tier ramen shops in Los Angeles. I got the Chicken Baitang Ramen, which had a delicious and complex broth. The noodles and egg were decent too, but the winner of the bowl was definitely the broth! Second place goes to the slices of pork chashu, which were cooked to near perfection. I am salivating just thinking about this afternoon's delicate bites of meat. Overall, I'm a fan of Laki Ramen and would come back again. One small nit was that a few tables were left uncleaned, which might have been due to a lunch rush or because I came during an off time. The interior was super clean and modern - a perfect stop for a quick bite. Parking was relatively easy too, which was a huge plus. Disclaimer: No, they don't serve coffee! The place was just super clean and minimalist, which reminded me of Blue Bottle's aesthetic.

Yelp
I've come to Laki Ramen a few times as a solo diner and with a group, and each time I've had a wonderful experience. The staff is kind and welcoming, the restaurant is cozy and comfortable, and the food itself is DELICIOUS! The first time I visited I tried the clam chowder ramen which was very unique and tasty. I typically order the tsukemen ramen these days - the ingredients are so fresh and the broth is packed with flavor and very rich. I also think they have some of the best bamboo shoots! If you're a matcha lover, you'll love the matcha tiramisu. As a heads-up, if you plan to order dessert be sure to do so when placing your entree order! Yesterday I popped in impulsively after running an errand nearby and was delighted to find that I caught the final day of Laki's pop-up collaboration menu with a dumpling restaurant in Kyoto. The dumplings, while not a permanent fixture on the menu, were tasty and not too heavy. My ramen was plated beautifully; I neglected to take a photo because I was so excited to dig in! I think it's really cool how Laki makes efforts to collaborate with other restaurants internationally to bring a taste of Japan to LA, and I'm excited to see what they do in the future! Whenever I'm craving tsukemen ramen, Laki Ramen will always be my first choice. めちゃ美味しかったですよ!

Yelp
First time here, food and service was great. Very cute little place to come and eat. We will definitely come back again and try out the rest of the menu Thank you

Ari H.

Yelp
Cute restaurant and the wait staff was friendly, however the ramen was pretty underwhelming, if not outright bad. The broth was very thick, and you have to pay extra for the toppings like egg. This is the first place I've been to where it's not automatically included (maybe due to the current price of eggs? But still doesn't explain the rest of the toppings costing extra) The chicken was pretty bland. I had asked for pork but maybe the waitress misheard me and it's on me for not sending it back / correcting her once I received my meal. The noodles were a bit excessive, but my personal preference is more broth than noodle. I think they should thin out their broth, season their chicken a bit more, and include toppings with a serving of ramen. The broth could be a little more seasoned as well, but it's all up to preference. I wish this business luck!

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of my friend who has been raving about it because she loves it so much. I arrived around 4:30ish on a Wed afternoon after visiting the La Brea Tar Pits Museum nearby. It wasn't super busy, there were two other tables finishing up and one server and the chef inside. The inside is very modern in terms of decor, and the only qualm I had at all was that it was hot inside so I was sweating a lot after eating my ramen. The female server asked me if I wanted regular water or lemon water, so I opted to lemon water and quickly checked the menu using the QR code on the table. I ordered the clear chicken ramen and waited maybe 15 minutes until the chef brought out my food with a jar of yuzu kosho and a jar of spicy garlic chives. The clear chicken ramen was delicious and came out piping hot. It's like a shio chicken ramen, and the broth wasn't overly heavy/fatty. The noodles were thin and slightly chewy, menma was lightly sweet, chashu was flavorful, and egg was cooked well. I loved changing the taste a little between bites with the yuzu kosho and garlic chives (but do know that the garlic chives will inevitably give you bad breath for a few hours). Thank you to the beautiful Chef Niki for an amazing bowl of ramen! I will definitely bring my husband next time to try the other dishes at Laki.

Yelp
Laki Ramen is in a strip mall and looks modest from the outside but their ramen is to die for! We ordered the spicy chicken tsukumen and were impressed by the thick flavorful broth, the expertly prepared ramen noodles (chewy and tasty!), and the tender chicken and chashu pork. Condiments on the table were fantastic! They should be sampled--fresh scallions greens with chili flakes and ground green chili with yuzu. Service was impeccable. We were greeted on entry, shown to our table and our order was taken efficiently. The ambiance was casual and seating was nicely spaced so you could have a normal conversation. The wait staff were welcoming, friendly and eager to please. This is an excellent ramen restaurant which is a cut above the usual. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Chicken broth based ramen is quite rare. Since my accidental discovery of Laki Ramen in March 2024, I have frequented this ramen joint no less than 10 times (living in OR and only come down every other month) and tried 4-5 kinds of ramens at Laki. Chicken baitang ramen with chicken cha-shu is my favourite with the clam chowder ramen closely second! The broth is rich and creamy yet not fatty. The noodles were al dente. Their matcha tiramisu was delightfully delicious and it was not very sweet. I also invited and recommended many of my friends and coworkers to Laki. Once they tried their first bowl, Laki Ramen has become their favourite ramen joint. I'll be coming back at least one more time before heading home. Thank you for bringing such delicious and unique ramen to LA!!

Yelp
The service here was excellent. We snuck in 30 Mins before it closed and the server kindly let us know we had 5 mins until the kitchen closed. We already knew what we wanted but discovered the clam chowder ramen was not available. I ordered the salad and Dan Dan ramen instead. There was a cute patio area with a fire feature but we were too cold and chose to sit inside. We were the last ones out but they didn't rush us at all, I will be back soon to try the clam chowder ramen!

Yelp
Suuuuper delicious Spicy Chicken Baitang Ramen (Pork Chashu) with "Spicy" level of heat at server's suggestion. Incredibly rich and dynamic flavor, and a quality portion size where I left very satisfied but not overly full. I love spicy foods, and I felt the "Spicy" level was enjoyable and balanced without being overbearing. Cant wait to come back.

Yelp
I work really close to Laki Ramen, but I only tried it for the first time recently. My first impression of the place was that it was super clean and bright, and spacious enough to be able to catch up with some friends while eating lunch or dinner. The parking was free and there was enough space in the plaza lot which was quite convenient. The waiters and waitresses were super kind and quick to action as well. While Laki offers a diverse range of menus from classic broth ramens to tsukemen and mazemen of their own style, I would say their broth ramen was the best out of all of them. My friends and I ordered a Spicy Chicken Baitang Ramen with Pork Chashu, Spicy Tsukemen, Clear Chicken Ramen, and match tiramisu. While the ramen portions weren't too big in comparison to other places, it was the perfect size for my party. Our collective favorite was the Clear Chicken Ramen and I personally would go back to Laki for it. The clear broth was very flavorful and you could tell a lot of time went into it. I will be revisiting for this specific item. Our second was the Spicy Chicken Baitang Ramen with Pork Chashu, and I think this is one of their specialties. The ramen wasn't super special, but it was nice that we could customize the spice. While we did love the Tsukemen noodle because it felt like it was freshly made from scratch, the Tsukemen broth at Laki was just mediocre. I think I would have enjoyed the Tsukemen noodle more with the Clear broth! Lastly, the matcha tiramisu was super decadent but not too sweet, which was perfect finishing touch to our meal. I highly recommend ordering the tiramisu for dessert.

Yelp
A few outdoor tables at his little ramen shop. With comfy bench seats. Our food was delicious. Had the karaage chicken, Spicy baitang with pork chasu ramen, and spicy tsukeman with the cold noodles. Everything was flavorful and nicely prepared. Our friends also tried a chicken bowl and the regular chicken baitang ramen and said the soup was delicious. This restaurant is close to the Peterson automotive Museum and also the Academy Motion Pictures Museum and easy to walk to if you are looking for someplace nearby.

Yelp
What a gem We wanted ramen close by and it was late but this spot was thankfully still open. I had just picked up my bestie from LAX who happened to be hungover. This was the closest to us in proximity to home. The outside is super cute with a fireplace. I got the dandan. Friend got vegan. AMAZING Something about the broth of mine reminded me of home. There was a taste in there that reminded me of something my mother makes. Can't wait to come back

Yelp
My friend told me about Laki Ramen and how he heard good things about the restaurant and how they just recently opened in LA so I had to try it! I didn't know what to expect or know what was popular to order but I ended up getting the chicken baitang ramen with pork chasu. Overall the broth was great! Normally chicken broth is clear and light but Laki Ramen's tastes very similar to a tonkotsu broth that is creamy and kind of has a fatty/pork taste. It was a bit hard to believe it was chicken broth but that's what made it amazing! I really enjoyed the noodles as they were chewy and had a great consistency and everything else in the bowl including the pork chasu, green onions, and bamboo shoots came together really well! Everyone working in the restaurant was super nice and helpful. I felt bad though because it didn't look like the restaurant was getting much business as it was only me and another party of 2 on a Friday night at 7pm. It may partially be because the plaza is going under construction at the moment and the restaurant isn't too noticeable and kind of hidden but I'll do my best to recommend this place to my folks and anyone who sees this review, please blow this place up! They deserve it :)

Yelp
The food is delicious. I'm tried many ramen places and this place is pretty up there. Inside is new, clean, and nice simple design. Service is great too. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Do not sleep on Laki ramen. This place is so good... to start, the interior is modern and cute & the service was really friendly. My boyfriend and I each got a bowl of their chicken baitang ramen except with different proteins and they were both so good. It was interesting how just the pork chasu as the protein really changed the whole flavor profile of the ramen but I really liked both equally, just depends what you're in the mood for. The chicken they use for their chicken chasu was literally perfect & so tender. I really like that all the ramen options are different than your standard ramen spot but they even have fun special items like "clam chowder ramen" which I'm super curious about. Prices are standard / fair for LA. All in all, I'm so happy this place is the closest ramen spot to me because we will most certainly be back. I look forward to trying their Dan Dan ramen as well as their clear both ramen. Like I said, don't sleep on this spot. It's really SO good.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch this week because I was craving Tsukemen ramen but didn't want to go all the way to Sawtelle. The restaurant is nice and minimalistic. The shopping center is currently under construction, which makes it a little hard to identify which restaurant is which, but we figured it out, and there was a ton of parking, which is always a win. The katsu curry here was the star. Curry was flavorful and the chicken crispy. The ramen was okay... I don't think the chicken is as good as pork so wasn't completely satisfied but would be open to trying their other noodle dishes. Service was friendly and we never ran out of water!
google avatar

Claire M.

Yelp
This was one of my first times trying chicken ramen, and I was not disappointed. The decor inside and outside was super stylish and comfy. I ordered one of the chicken baitang ramen and clear broth ramen. Both presentations were beautiful, and the broth flavors were very deep and textured. The baitang had a more luxurious mouthfeel, but I enjoyed both with my friend. Something you need to get in addition to the ramen is the karaage, probably the best karaage I've ever had, being juicy but crispy on the outside. A MUST is the matcha tiramisu- this will be the best matcha tiramisu you ever have, I'd go back again to have it in a heartbeat. A must try spot in LA!

Yelp
Honestly this is one of the best ramens I've had in the area. My friend introduced me to this place, situated on Wilshire fairly close to LACMA. I otherwise would have had no idea it existed. Theres a decently sized parking lot, always a plus. I didn't have trouble finding a spot when I went that weekend. I ordered the signature chicken baitang ramen with pork chashu. Actually, right after I ordered, I had to go take a sudden work call, and by the time I got back, my ramen had been sitting out for awhile. I was so confused when a worker came by to take away the ramen since I hadn't even touched it yet. But they insisted that I have a fresh one. And wow was it one of the best chicken ramen broths that I've ever had. The noodles had a great chew to them and the chashu was extremely light and paired well with the rest of the bowl. Incredible service and delicious ramen. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day, there is parking inside of the lot. This restaurant opened not too long ago the owner and his daughter were there the night we came. Friendly service and delicious food. My friend and I both enjoyed our dishes. I had the spicy vegan ramen & my friend had their special Dan Dan Ramen, which was also good I would definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
delicious! women owned! Everytime i come here and post the ramen on my story....a million people respond to me asking where I got my delicious ramen!
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
The ambiance is great, the service was good, and the food was pretty darn underwhelming. The broth was next level; can't say enough about it. Incredibly good. There was no meat in the ramen. We ordered chashu pork and there was literally only the thinnest amount of shaved fat in the bowl. For the amount that we had to pay (way overpriced compared to competitors), it was definitely not worth the trip.
google avatar

Danica L.

Yelp
I was recommended to come here as it was a new restaurant that recently opened. Parking was pretty easy as there's a big parking lot and I believe there's no valet as of right now. I ordered the Chicken Baitang Ramen with Pork. I liked how light the broth was and the toppings that were included. The ramen itself was flavorful and delicious. The service was also very good as staff were nice and friendly. There were only 2 parties (including me) when I came here on a Friday night, so business was slow. I'm assuming it's because the plaza is undergoing construction so it may be hard to spot. If you're in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
This place was good. I love the little outdoor seating area. Service was friendly. I guess what I was most looking forward to when I added the seasoned egg is there was for it to be seasoned. When I took a bite out of it, the inside was still cold. And the seasoning was so light it was almost just a plain boiled egg. Other then that, the broth and noodles and chicken were delicious.
google avatar

Stephanie ..

Yelp
The food here was great, the staff was very nice, and the decor was super cute! We got the Spicy Tsukumen, which you can customize the spice level. We both got medium, which was a nice heat but not too spicy. The noodles were nice and springy, the broth had a strong and pleasant miso taste; it was nice to have a lighter version of a Tsukumen that still tasted great and filling. We also got a pork chasu bowl which tasted great. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Was excited because my friend told me the chef is from Japan. [Food 4/5]: We both got the signature ramen and green tea tiramisu for dessert. The chicken broth was very comforting and flavorful, but a little oily and on the thicker side. I liked the noodles, green onion, and pickled vege on the side. The only thing I thought was missing was a poached egg. I thought the ramen was good, but I def prefer iki or nagi. I also felt like the portion size was a bit small because I didn't feel that full afterwards. The green tea tiramisu was a bit disappointing because we were expecting green tea breading, so if the chef can include that that would be perfect. I felt like I was just eating a box of super thick cream and didn't taste like an actual dessert. [Service 3/5]: The ramen took a while to come out even though there were only 2 other tables there. Also if they would bring out the food for both bowls of ramen at the same time. Because one bowl came out first, and I wanted to wait, so we can eat at the same time. But the second bowl took a while to come out, and my ramen was getting cold just sitting there. I had to ask the server to make sure they put in 2 orders of the ramen in because it was taking a while. It was just a bit off putting. Other than that. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant looked very clean. It was a good try, but I prefer other ramen spots.

Yelp
Where do I even start with this? once I arrived, there were a lot of tables empty, but they were all dirty. They sat me at a table that I had to ask the server to CLEAN it. I ordered a Ramen that had very little broth in it, (however, I did ask before getting it, and the waitress said that had a lot). SO, I kindly asked to have some broth on the side since what she told me was not accurate. She brought to me something else, which I think she did not understand what I said, so fast forward I explained and after a WHILE she decided to bring it and it was extremely salty! While I was eating it, (this actually happened before I called the waitress to bring me some more broth),I found a piece of plastic, like a little square one, I picked up with my fingers and put it on the side, showed it to my waitress, she completely ignored the fact that it is something you need to at least ASK if a guest wants a new one, be genuine about it and apologize. NONE of the above things I just listed above happened. ZERO empathy or customer service! The ramen was super, super, super salty. Plus, on the check they had the audacity to charge me $5 extra on the check for the broth that my Ramen turned to be not even edible. Simply 100% disappointed.

Yelp
So happy we gave this ramen spot a try and can't wait to come back. Their special of the month is a truffle oil mazemen and it was bursting with flavor and wasn't spicy, but you could add spice to it yourself. It comes with a small bowl of rice and broth that you add in at the end. The other thing we ordered was chicken curry which was delicious as well. They had a high chair for my baby that had its own tray which was great!
google avatar

Yelp
The promotion of Japanese Scallops with Clam Chowder Ramen was well worth the price of $25 especially when paired with Special Toppings: Seaweed, Pork Chashu, Chicken and Flavored Egg for only $4. Try the ramen before the promotion ends!

Yelp
so yummy! i can't find the one my boyfriend ordered but it had ground beef in it and it was good. i got the spicy chicken baitang ramen and it was really good and really spicy. i love how creamy and flavorful their broth is. the service is really nice, its a small place with about 5 tables and it's a very nice modern look inside. we also got the chicken bowl and it was so simple and delicious.

Tiya S.

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken Baitang Ramen with Pork Chashu and extra bamboo shoots for delivery. Wow, this may have been the least delicious, strangest bowl of ramen I think I've ever had. It was somehow bland, sweet (?!), and way too salty at the same time. I didn't even know that was possible. Oh, and I paid for extra bamboo shoots and only got a very normal amount so they either a) didn't give me extra or b) give you a very stingy amount to begin with. Also of note: very little broth. Just enough to wet the noodles but not nearly enough. Or as much as normal. Again, a very odd, not very good bowl of ramen. Disappointing.

Shayan J.

Yelp
Cute ramen shop with unique flavor. It is different than other spots I've tried with a more full and fatty flavor - which was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Baitang Ramen (pork chashu) for reference. The staff is also very friendly!

Yelp
I saw my buddy @GoRamen post about this place. And I definitely trust his ramen recommendations. This spot is known for their creamy chicken based broth. I came on an evening near it's closing time so it wasn't busy. But I think this place is way underrated. It is so so so so good. The broth had that hit of umami. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The pork chashu was cut the right amount. Staff was very friendly. I also got the karrage chicken. It was very very filling. They've got free parking here if you're eating in the plaza. And the space inside is very clean. Well designed store. Recommendation: Chicken baitang ramen with pork chashu

Yelp
Amazing food and service, i didn't get the waitresses name but she was outstanding! Super patient and recommended the best foods, she was immediately kind to my 9 month old and had small bowls for the kids. Absolutely loved the experience, highly recommend!

Yelp
The best thing about traveling is discovering places like, Laki Ramen! The modern decor creates a delightful atmosphere, and the exceptional service truly made me feel welcomed. The clear chicken broth ramen was beyond amazing - the flavors were simply unbelievable. Laki Ramen is a must-visit for anyone seeking a combination of modern aesthetics, outstanding service, and unforgettable ramen flavors.

Yelp
From the outside where this area is located, there's a lot of construction and it doesn't look like an appealing spot based on location. But this place was worth the visit. Not too busy and service was prompt. It's very cute with great art and nice comfortable, clean seating options both inside and outside. The ramens are unique and not like the standard typical ramens you'd get. I think our server mentioned they make their broths with pork and chicken, but also soy milk. So the taste of their ramens was completely unique from other spots we've frequented. Ordered the Din Din ramen, Karaage, and the matcha tiramisu. All of these dishes were very good. Everything tastes like it's made from scratch, and every plate is made and presented with a lot of care and precision. Tasted their house ramen and the broth is almost like a gravy in how hearty it is. Definitely recommend this place is you're looking for something different, but traditional and delicious.

Yelp
We had bunch of appetizers and ramen. Only thing we liked was fried shrimp cocktail. Everything else wasn't good. Specially the Ramen. It has weird thick chicken broth that had no taste. I tried spicy first but the spice had weird taste. So I asked to switch to non spicy ramen still not good and second time my noodles were very chewy. They charged me for both of the ramen and I didn't eat either. Service was ok. Ambiance is like modern cafe. Doesn't really look like ramen place. Unfortunately will not return.

Yelp
Delish! Small menu, and you can tell they put a lot of effort and quality ingredients into the dishes they offer. Super clean restaurant and parking lot with easy parking (great!). Had their spicy signature ramen (can't remember the name) and it was delicious. Thick broth with tons of flavor, noodles were good, pork chasu was a tad thin but delicious and I think more of a style thing. Definitely authentic ramen. Also SUPER nice staff and great service. I live close by so will def be back!

Yelp
Delicious chicken based soup! Very flavorful but not as fatty as tonkotsu soup. The broth is a bit on the sweeter side. Plenty of parking spots on a Sunday.

Yelp
I ordered vegan ramen for lunch today. I have tried many vegan ramen before but this one was very unique and special! The soup is very creamy and tasty. The owner chef explained the soup is made with lots of vegetables cooked long time to make it thick and tasty. The sliced tomato on top made the ramen so refreshing too. Fried shrimp was so good and nicely decorated. The parking is right front for free which is a big plus. The decor was nice and clean. The round chair was comfortable. I want to come back with my friends again!

Yelp
Saw this ramen shop just two blocks from hubby's work, so took him to lunch here. Clean, bright, open air. Didn't realize they have been open just 4 days nor that they had a great reputation in Japan. I am not a big fan of pork ramen bowls so I was happy to see they had a chicken chashu bowl. Yes, please!! Piping hot, silky rich broth, plenty of noodles, bamboo, green onions and fried onions. Good to the last tasty drop! What was a crazy surprise was their appetizer shrimp cocktail. I ordered it to start and was told it was one shrimp. Okay. Out comes a fluted glass with an egg salad in the bottom in the glass, fresh dill, lemon wedge, with a hot crispy panko-breaded shrimp. So seriously good, I ordered another on the spot. We loved this place. Glad we got here before the local lunch crowd, because they got busy quick once they opened for lunch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We came here on my birthday back in October - my husband picked it out based on the Yelp reviews. Had i read the reviews I don't think we would have come here given my daughter and I prefer authentic ramen with pork/bone broth. What Laki offers is only chicken broth based ramen, and the location is in a somewhat sketchy strip mall, with a somewhat utilitarian design to the interior seating. The ramen itself was okay, but not at all what we were looking for from an authentic LA ramen experience. Some of the reviews talk about this being like your grandmother's chicken noodle soup. Well, that's not ramen. Lesson learned.

Yelp
Laki Ramen is ramen spot located in a Plaza off Wilshire and Crescent Heights. The plaza contains a good amount of asian food spots. The place is very casual but very modern. The customer service is excellent. Parking was easy. Took 15 minutes for our food to come. I ordered the Chicken Karaage and Chicken Baitang Ramen with pork chashu. The Chicken Karaage was great. In comparison to a ball/chunk of chicken fried, the size and shape was more comparable to Chicken Katsu. The cuts were thick, the chicken was juicy, and the skin was crispy. The amount was very generous, and was definitely good vallue for $8. The Chicken Baitan Ramen was good and unlike most ramen I've tried. The broth was very thick, but had a much lighter taste. The noodles were much thinner and firmer and the ratio for noodles to broth was quite high. The pork slices were thin and not cooked as much. With so many slices though, the amount is definitely standard. It was not amazing, but was a interesting and tasty enough take of ramen I've tried in the past. Overall, 7/10. If I'm in the area or am looking for a lighter tasting ramen, would definitely come to this place and order the same thing I got.
