Drove a few times from RI specifically to this bakery. They are running of many items very quickly. Glad that we can order some items prior and pick up on weekends. A bit on expensive side. The special croissants are great! Love their pastries too, not crazy about their cinnamon buns. Like their savory black squid ink croissant.

Emma Hart

Google
The food itself looks great, all the pastries are decorated so nicely. As for the taste, they were a bit drier and crunchier than I'd like. Not very fresh tasting. The staff were super nice! Space is a little small though, had to sit outside

Alex Griffin

Google
If there’s a line, it’s worth the wait. They’ve only gotten better with time. Lakon releases monthly line up of 8-12 new speciality pastries, that keep me coming back. On the pricier side for pastries, but each one is a phenomenal experience

Mika Hale

Google
I ordered the tiramisu latte and was in love with it! The drink came with a layer of cream on top (maybe mascarpone whip?) with a dusting of cocoa and lady fingers laid on top. It tasted amazing! They also have these huge pastries that just looks divine and I would love to come back and eat it again. I saw that they also have a pistachio latte which I will be trying the next time I come back. The staff were so nice and honestly just made the nice, sunny day outside even better.

Google
The croissants here are HUGE! The flavors are delicious and usually take me 2 or 3 sittings to finish. I love that they use mascarpone cheese in the middle. I just got the chocolate filled cube croissant and the chocolate in the middle was definitely more like a pudding, than the ganache I expected (ganache would have been incredible). I look forward to trying other desserts from here.

Google
For the price I honestly didn’t think it was worth it. I was expecting more flavor to the strawberry twist and the monkey bread (no filling no nuts

Cami Tussie

Google
Croissants were delicious, with the pistachio croissant a standout. Felt the cream was full of flavor without being too sweet. The hazelnut cube we didn’t love, felt a bit too gimmicky and bland, but could be a personal textural thing. Cappuccino was good. Definitely want to go back to try more. No indoor seating

Jenny Maron

Google
Best croissants in Boston hands boots down. I usually get the plain butter croissant and a speciality one. Weekend specials are always fun to try. The squid ink danish is SO delicious and pretty.

Yelp
I've been wanting to get these viral croissants for so long and I am not dissapointed! This place exceeded my expectations and I am in love with all their pastries. The chocolate ring is filled with delicious creamy chocolate hazlenut filling and the passionfruit cube croissant is filled with a sweet tart filling! These are huge croissants and super filling. They are made fresh everyday and the passionfruit cube croissant is my favorite. I believe they change their flavors often but this one is to die for. I also got the thai tea croissant with thai tea filling! Super rich and creamy and the croissant was light and buttery. Overall their croissants are definitely as good as it looks make even better! They are so crispy, flakey, buttery and delicious! The service is great and they were very kind to explain their pastry items. Super fast service and its a grab and go situation. No seating at all which is unfortunate.

Yelp
Flaky and delicious -croissants; Had chocolate and raspberry croissants and it was really good. I enjoyed every pieces. The cream inside was very sweet which i' prefer to be less sweet -price: on the very pricier side considering one croissant is around ~$8-9. Not sure if I'd come often because of this reason.

Yelp
I really like croissants and I LOVE stumbling upon unique food items. Small shop, on street parking. Not enough room to sit and enjoy inside. Just a place to purchase and quickly move along. The staff was not interested in small talk- just move along. She wasn't rude but just business focused. I was really excited to find a pistachio croissant as I recently had one and it knocked my socks off. But It was around 1pm on a Saturday and sold out. I get it! So I looked around and the idea of a flattened croissant was interesting but the caramel popcorn croissant roll looked tasty! I did it. $9 later my son and I were digging into the roll. I have never seen anything quite like this. I am identifying it as a croissant roll because it's layers of croissant rolled up. It was then coated lightly in caramel with a few pieces of caramel popcorn on top. How does one eat it? I just ripped a piece off to start. I like the idea of the caramel drizzle with the light and fluffy croissant. I was shocked when I got into a frosting or cream rather in the center. I thought it has more of a mapleish taste. It was just heavy and a lot. I could have done without the filling. My kids each had a cherry macaroon. They disappeared quickly so I assume they were good! My husband had a hot coffee and I had an iced matcha. Big flakes of green. Not my favorite. True score: 3.25

Yelp
All 3 pastries I got were great, but my favorite was the pain Suisse with cream and chocolate inside. Prices are high so I don't think I'll go again! But, everything I see there on display looks profesional.

Yelp
Despite the cute vibes outside and inside, this small French patisserie is unfortunately underwhelming. The seasonal popular Ube croissant was just not it. It didn't have much flavor, and was very hard. It appears that it was just for the Instagram wow factor--very New York. I wouldn't really recommend this place, although the basque cheesecake seemed enticing. Service was ok.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday and it gets busy but they are ready for it! Place is clean and staff is friendly. We got the pistachio croissant, the hazelnut one, the hot cocoa croissant and the coconut mango passion fruit mousse. All of them look super good! The cocoa croissant is a great experience, but we both agreed to say it was a one and done. The experience is worth it and it's fun, but not the most delicious to us, also a little hard to eat. The hazelnut one was both our favorite! The right amount of everything, would get it again for sure. The pistachio one was great and delicious as well, although, it didn't have a strong pistachio flavor, wish it was a bit more powerful. The coconut mango passion fruit mousse was super flavorful and fresh.

Yelp
Lakon definitely has some of the most beautiful croissants around Boston. Tried the chocolate ring and it was pretty good! It was flaky and filled with lots of delicious chocolate cream. Was it $9.50 good? Not really, but it was cool to try at least once and the quality was nice. Got their London Fog Latte and it was ok, oddly bitter.

Yelp
My friend stopped by on weekend to expected more items available but it still a disappointment.. Items are very limited on Saturday even in the morning... it is pricey even it was nicely presented.. the croissant are nicely presently but I preferred light golden brown instead dark golden brown. Sometimes with the lack of butter and over bake, it makes the pastries on the dryer side. Will give another try, hopefully there will be more flavors available.

Yelp
Stopped in today after a nice lunch out with the husband. We got a Kouign amann to split and coffee to go. I got a peppermint white mocha with oat milk. Husband got a coffee with a splash of cream. Our coffee was perfect for our walk back home on this very windy day. We ate the koign amann for dessert this evening. It was perfect. Creme Brulee like coating on outside. Perfect crunch. Buttery soft on inside. It heated up nicely. Definitely recommend. Can't wait to come back and enjoy some other desserts.

Yelp
Small bakery chain from NYC. The shop is grab and go. There is no sitting inside. They have pastries made fresh every day, and switch out their menu daily It is quite pricey. You will expected to spend around $9/ croissant. Coffee is more reasonable price and roasted nicely! This is definitely a very aesthetic bakery. But I would not come back for their pastries, the flavor is not worth the price.

Yelp
I have been here a few times now and overall I would definitely recommend their pastries! Their speciality croissants are definitely on the pricier side but it is worth it as an occasional treat. I've tried the strawberry cheesecake and bicolor croissants, the honeycomb ring croissant, the chocolate chip cookie, the pain suisse and the cookie croissant! The classic butter and chocolate croissants are great but I have had better pain suisse in other pastry shops for a cheaper price (I'm always on the hunt for the best pain suisse in Boston). The service is great! The small cappuccino is more like a medium, I would order a macchiato over a cappuccino!

Yelp
I was very excited to finally try this spot since I've heard so many good things. I'm a little afraid to go on the weekend because of the lines, so I went around noon on a Friday. There was a small line inside, but it moved quickly. It's a tight space, so definitely plan to take your pastries with you. I got the chocolate cube croissant and caramel biscoff ring croissant. I was a little disappointed that those were the only options for those shapes, since they have so many choices of cubes and rings on the weekend. They also didn't fit in the box, (the ring is too tall) so as I walked to my car, it kept blowing open. The croissants themselves were really good. I loved the ring- it had a nice crunch on the outside, was flaky and soft inside, and the filling was well distributed. It somehow wasn't soggy, which was impressive. It wasn't overly sweet, which was nice. The cube was very, very chocolatey. Like, a quarter of it at a time would be fine for one person. It was good, just super intense. Again, not soggy at all. I totally understand why these croissants are pricey; I'm sure with the fun shapes, there's a lot of extra effort in making them. However, at $9 each, I'm unlikely to be a frequent visitor. Perfect for special treats, though!

Yelp
We stumbled across Lakon Paris during a stroll in Coolidge Corner after seeing their chalkboard ad of their drinks outside. Very glad we gave this place a try! We ordered their Rose Tea Latte, London Fog, and their Chai Tea Cube. Both drinks were delicious and the floral taste of the rose really came through in the tea. One thing we did notice was that both of the drinks had very different levels of sweetness. The London Fog was much sweeter so I would definitely ask about the sweetness levels prior to ordering if you prefer less sweet drinks. They also offer sweeteners on the side for you to adjust your drinks to taste. We ended up mixing together the Rose Tea Latte with the London Fog to make the drink a bit less sweet and the concoction was actually really good. We absolutely loved the Chai Tea Cube. It was just sweet enough that you didn't feel weighed down by it. The cream was so fluffy and complimented the flaky pastry well. It is a messy eat so definitely have napkins on hand. The interior of the store was really small. When we went, there was a small line so it felt very cramped. The line does move fast so you aren't standing there waiting for too long. There is no interior seating, which is a bummer. However, there are some public benches in the area for you to rest and enjoy your drinks at. We would definitely come back to try the rest of the pastries but they are a bit pricey (~$10 each) so this might have to be a place we treat ourselves t.

Yelp
Despite the bad reviews, I really liked my experience here. Warning, this place is super small and takeout only. Since it's really popular, we were practically shoulder to shoulder with other people ordering and waiting to pick up. I picked the pistachio croissant and iced americano. Iced americano was standard. The pistachio croissant is one of the best I've tried if you love pistachio. It has real pistachio cream and ganache on top, but still was so flaky. There's not many places where you can find pistachio desserts that's not overdone with the artificial extracts. It costs almost $10 so it's not something I'd get everyday, but I plan on returning and would like to try their other desserts

Yelp
The service is alright. It's a small shop with really good pastries. The sweet pasties pictured are all filled. The strawberry cheesecake one was really good, fruity and not too sweet. The matcha one wasn't too overwhelming. The savory croissants were my favorites. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area or if you're looking for breakfast! The coffee here is also pretty good!

Yelp
My friend and I dropped by this place on Memorial Day weekend and there was hardly a queue! I wanted to try this place for a while but there was always a queue. I got some plain croissants, almond croissants, pistachio croissant, strawberry jam ring, and milk cream cube croissant to try. The strawberry jam ring was very cute but it was way too sweet! Not a fan... The milk cream cube croissant was also cute but delicious. It had the right amount of sweetness. The plain croissants were buttery and flaky. The almond croissants were not the best I had but still pretty good. I would come back again to try other flavors.

Yelp
Milk Cube Croissant 5/5 Chocolate Round Croissant 4.5/5 Pistachio Mascarpone Croissant 4/5 Came here with a friend to see what all the craze was about. We had gotten there right at 7am when they open on Sundays for a better chance of getting their viral specialty croissants and the line was already wrapped around the block. There was plenty of free parking on the sides of the streets and we waited for about an hour before we were able to order. The service while waiting in line was great. They offered us hot chocolate while we waited and made sure that people who ordered ahead of time knew they could just pick up their order instead of waiting in line. Once we got to order, we tried an assortment of items that included their specialty croissants and some staple bakery goods like their ham and cheese croissant. All were quite good. I would recommend! The croissants were very fresh and had a beautiful flaky texture on the outside while being soft, buttery, and chewy on the inside. Would highly recommend the Milk Cube croissant as the filling is just the perfect amount of sweetness. There's no seating inside or outside the bakery so you'll need to enjoy your pastries and hot drinks on the go, but they package it very well.

Yelp
Lakon Paris Patisserie blew up on foodie social media for their beautiful and unique croissants. I've heard countless stories about their lines so my partner and I decided to come to this location instead of their Newton one around 9AM on Wednesday. We called beforehand to ask if any of their items were sold out, and they informed us no as it has been slow. This location is very tiny with no seating. The workers informed us that the Newton location is larger and actually offers seating. We ended up eating our pastries outside on some chairs we found. We ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, strawberry cheesecake croissant, and hazelnut cube croissant. They had an array of other sweet and savory pastries, as well as giant macarons but we were not that hungry. Strawberry cheesecake croissant: 4/5. I am a huge strawberry cheesecake girl. The croissant itself was very fluffy and moist with a cream-cheese based filling in the center and strawberry-jam like filling off-center. This was my favorite one as the flavors and filling were light, and it tasted the closest to what it was actually supposed to. Pistachio croissant: 2/5. Although the inside and toppings looked beautiful, this one disappointed me the most. The pistachio filling did not have a very strong pistachio flavor, and it was very heavy and thick. The pistachios on top added a nice texture but overall my least favorite and something I would not try again. Hazelnut cube croissant: 3.5/5. The cube itself was beautiful and the filling was a delicious hazelnut chocolate. It was topped with dark chocolate and hazelnuts. My only dislike is how hard/crunchy the actual croissant was. I understand it's to hold its shape and the filling but it was very hard to bite/eat. Worth trying and I'd love to try their other flavors in the future. Overall, their pastries are very beautiful and worth a try at least once. I am hesitant to come back but would love to their their other pastries and other flavors of croissant in hopes that my first experience was a fluke.

Yelp
Is this an aesthetic, instagram-y place? Yes. Does it take away from the quality of the food? Absolutely not. While definitely pricey, this bakery lived up to its display with solid items that had good flavor. the tomato danish was absolutely amazing and the peach cream croissant and butter croissant were sooo good! Even though it was busy, you can get in and out within 20 minutes. Would go back!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place ever since they opened and they had back-to-back weekends of people queueing around the block. I'd been by a few times and the line looked unmanageable, so I always told myself that I'd come back another time, and today there was no line at all. It seems that since its opening, the hype has died down and Brookline has seen this place for what it really is - very pretty and aesthetically pleasing pastries that are much too expensive and have a slightly above-average taste. Firstly, the selection of pastries in the window look beautiful - there's no denying that. The cubed croissants and ring croissants are completely original designs and showcase the many layers of buttery pastry. The strawberry cheesecake and pistachio croissants look hand-painted, and each item really does look like a high-quality time-intensive piece of art. However, the price was a little bit outrageous. I got the simple Milk Cream Cube Croissant, and it was $8.99! The pastry was nice, and the cream inside was not too sweet, but the price definitely was more for the novelty/spectacle than the quality itself. It didn't taste like anything special, and it actually was a bit on the dry side. Plus, a cube croissant, it turns out, is quite hard to take bites out of without making a mess. I'm glad I finally got to try this place, but I don't think I'll be back - the price is just much too high.

Yelp
We decided to visit Làkon Paris Pâtisserie after spending some time a few doors down at the pottery place. It's a small, quaint little Pâtisserie located in Brookline. It was my birthday and I figured I'd grab a treat here instead of the usual cake. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The Pâtisserie had a small, but solid variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries. The croissants looked incredible and I will certainly be coming back to try one! The tiramisu is also another favorite I'll have to try! But today, I decided to grab the last two Eclairs. The Eclairs are adorned with chocolate nibbles/flakes and edible gold! They also come served on a convenient little "tray", which is very unique. I haven't seen that before anywhere. Presentation of all pastries and desserts was on-point. The eclairs looked pretty tasty, but we were floored when we bit into them. The filling is typically vanilla or cream inside of eclairs. Their take on the eclair uses a very, very rich chocolate filling. To be honest, it was so sweet it wasn't edible. These were $8+ a piece and it was my birthday. They should inform customers if they choose to go against the norm. They should've just clarified that they are CHOCOLATE-filled eclairs. As I said, they have a small selection of baked goods, pastries, and desserts. Honestly, I was surprised by how small the selection was. They could certainly improve in that regard. It may have just been the time of day I visited too. I will update my review after another visit to the establishment. If you are into coffee/espresso, they have you covered on that! I cannot comment on the taste or quality, as I am not a coffee person. I will certainly be returning to give the tiramisu and the croissants a try! I do feel they could improve selection and be more forthcoming with customers. Let folks know it's not a typical eclair. That way, they can pick something else if that isn't their thing. I am hopeful the next visit to this establishment will yield a better experience! Everyone deserves a second chance, I'm willing to go back and give it another try!

Yelp
Lakon is primarily known for their variety of specialty croissants and have gotten really popular over recent years thanks to social media and food influencers on Instagram and Tiktok. I typically try to stay away from speciality cream filled croissants because i have personally never had a croissant that could retain its optimal buttery/flaky/crispy goodness whenever any sort of pastry cream gets added to it. This morning, i decided to try out the speciality croissants here (got a maple bourbon, pistachio mascarpone, and chocolate ring croissant), along with a couple danishes (cherry almond, and apricot). Unfortunately, i was disappointed with every single one of the pastries. While they all looked amazing and picture perfect, none of them were flaky at all. Every single pastry that i had tried were stale, dry, or dense. The fillings/toppings were excellent though! If you're looking to get some amazing pictures of the speciality croissants to show off on your social media page, then this is the perfect place for you, but otherwise you're not missing out on anything. Also, the speciality croissants here are not cheap and will set you back $10 each. There is also always a line here on the weekends. My wait today on a rainy Sunday morning was around 25 minutes. I think you will probably be much better off with going with the non-speciality croissants here (e.g. regular butter, pain au chocolat, almond, or ham & cheese). While i never got the chance to try the non-speciality croissants at this particular location, i've been to their original Newton location a few times and the regular croissants there were always flaky and never stale (they're not necessarily the best i've had but would still hit the spot). If you're looking for a no-frill croissant that is flaky, buttery, well laminated, tasty, and has a good outer crisp, there is another bakery called Cremeux French Patisserie that is in Brookline about a 5 minutes walk away on Harvard St by Trader Joes that make excellent croissants in the mornings.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for novelty items if you couldn't tell from my last review about the hot chocolate ring croissant. This time I came back for the chocolate flat croissant. Once again, the idea isn't original; Lakon is just hopping on the viral train. However, that didn't stop me from wanting it. It was $7.50 and tasted exactly how you would imagine: a dry, burnt croissant. 2/5 for taste, but it did get oddly addicting to crunch on. I also couldn't resist picking up a milk cream peach cube ($9.50). The croissant was not as flaky or buttery as it could have been, but the peach was fresh, and the filling was good. Not worth the price, though. I arrived 10 minutes after opening and had to wait in a line this time, but I was still in and out within 15 minutes. I feel like most places either have good food or good-LOOKING food; the rare few have both. Lakon definitely excels at presentation, but the quality is just not good enough to justify the prices.

Yelp
We made sure to go super early on a Saturday morning, a few minutes before they opened. The line was already starting to form but we only waited about 20 minutes. The pastries were beautiful and very instagrammable! Everything was made fresh and all the employees were very kind. However, I did not find the croissants to be very flaky and the cream filling added too much density. The specialty croissants will set you back almost $10 apiece which is very steep for a pastry that didn't blow me away.
google avatar

Yerina K.

Yelp
Usually this place has a huge line outside in the mornings but we were lucky and didn't need to wait at all. We got the pistachio croissant, plain croissant, calamansi macaron, passionfruit macaron and they ALL slapped so hard! The pistachio croissant was so good and it wasn't super sweet or dense so it was easy to eat. The pastries tasted so expensive (it was like $10 per thing besides the macarons) but I honestly think it was so worth it. We also got the matcha latte and it was not sweet which was perfect to balance the pastries. It does get $$$ and I want to get the cube next time but honestly is one of the best places here in Boston for some flakey soft croissants! The place doesn't have seatings inside so just be mindful for that (there are some benches outside if you want to sit and eat).

Yelp
we went to this bakery literally 10 minutes before closing. there wasn't a lot to pick from, but it was the best decision ever! this was one of the best almond croissants i've ever had--i typically am not a fan, but this croissant changed me. the coconut mango passionfruit mousse was also sooo good, it was creamy and tarty. i would love to go back here and try the other pastries and cakes. i highly highly recommend you try this spot out!

Yelp
This location is a "take and go" format, where customers can quickly grab their favorite baked goods and drinks. This bakery has become very popular due to its square croissants and pastries, which are highly sought after by locals and visitors alike. In addition to these delicious treats, the bakery also offers a wide range of specialty drinks, including tasty lattes and other unique options that are sure to satisfy any craving. However, due to the bakery's growing popularity, lines have become a common sight. So, if you're not a fan of waiting in line, it may be best to visit during off-peak hours or wait until the hype dies down. Hope to visit again later.
google avatar

Angelina Z.

Yelp
I finally got to try their specialty croissants! I arrived at 9am on a Saturday, and there was a line of only 5 people. I got the rose lychee croissant which was super aesthetically pleasing. Taste wise, it was great. It wasn't too sweet, and the balance between fruity and creamy was perfect. However, I was disappointed by the texture. The croissant felt super stale, not at all fluffy or soft.
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
I've lived down the street from the new location for years. When it got announced, I waited in anticipation. Then the negative reviews started pouring in, and the lines were insane, and I more or less wrote it off. I was so wrong! I can only imagine one of these three things happened: it took time to dial in the proper approach at the new location, people came on a bad day, or people are super picky. Today, I got the Nutella banana, the pistachio, and a classic ham and cheese. I do agree with the folks who say the classics are better. That's true. But I'd actually also say it was the best ham and cheese croissant I've ever had. The Nutella banana was also fantastic. The pistachio seemed as if it were a little underdone to preserve the aesthetic, and I can appreciate that. Still good. Not one was dry or tasteless. I will absolutely be back.

Yelp
lakon is a bit overrated. i expected their pastries to exceed expectations, but they tasted just ok. i ordered the bicolor chocolate croissant ($6.50). the croissant was a bit hard. the pastries range from $5.50 to $9. service was ok, the employees were kind. there's only a couple tables inside, and a few outside. parking is convenient - lots of street parking right outside the shop. overall rating: 7/10
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! No joke! Love this and the Newton location. Anyone that gives a bad review is trying to get rid of the long line! It's the best croissant ever.
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
Small little shop. Has plenty of croissants available now compared to before. No more lines. Flavors vary on the weekday and weekend. The croissant are a bit pricey for the flavor. They taste good but are not to the point of amazing. Would come again but not often. I had the rose lychee and strawberry croissants before. The rose tastes very artificial would not recommend, only the looks of it looks good but not the taste. Definitely would have the strawberry one again. The regular chocolate croissant is also average, if you like flaky croissants this one isn't the best I've had. Overall nice store and ok to try.

Yelp
Amazing!! This is a tiny hole in a wall bakery with a delightful selection of pastries. We came early on a Saturday morning and the service was extremely quick, no wait at all. Tried the blueberry & cream croissant (my favorite! Wow the jam and crème pat were incredibly fresh, the croissant was light and flaky), chocolate croissant cube, opera cake, and cinnamon roll. Would love to return again to try more of their items, and sounds like they have a rotating menu.

Yelp
This place is magical - everything tastes as beautiful as it looks. Been here probably 20x since they popped up, we try something new every time and have never been disappointed. Everyone we've ever encountered there is insanely nice. Legit baffled how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. Haters who want a quicker, cheaper pastry can walk on over to Dunks and suck a munchkin.

Yelp
We walked into Lakon on a whim near closing time despite the sign on the door that clearly stated that they were sold out of croissants. Turns out we were in luck -- someone hadn't picked up their order so we were able to buy it. We felt very lucky and rushed home to try our haul. We spent close to $30 for three croissants, which, phew! That's a lot of cash for three pastries. Overall I wasn't really impressed, though. The strawberry croissant was filled with strawberry jam and cream. It was quite sweet. The croissant itself was not very good -- a bit dry and not flaky and buttery. It tasted like a day old croissant, which it might have been. I'm not a fan of pistachio croissants in general so I can't speak to how the pistachio croissant was. The milk cream cube was quite good. I liked the milk cream filling the most out of the three croissants. However, I was again not very impressed by the croissant. I don't live in the area so probably wouldn't ever be able to join the long morning lines. And from what I've tried, I wouldn't be willing to wait. It seems like people who order a lot of croissants are able to pre-order and pick up without a wait, but at this price, I wouldn't do it with my own money. Perhaps the hype will die down someday and I can try some of their other offerings, hopefully in a fresher state...

Yelp
Brookline is a tough place to please. Folks are well traveled and have experienced quality food. The pastries are the best in town - hands down. I sense the frugal nature of some has influenced some of the lower ratings I.e. " delicious but the price" reaction.... Starbucks is close by for a dry croissant for 1/2 the price...go at it. I removed a star for the lattes and cortados. - sour and bubbly. Head down 2 blocks to Cafe Fixe after u pick up the best pastry around. Great coffee if you can deal with the eccentric owner...you're welcome.

Yelp
I can't say I understand why some are blaming the bakery for the long wait. It's pretty obvious how popular the bakery is and people should have reasonable expectations on how long a line of 20-30 people takes to serve. I went on a weekend day and found the line moved at a reasonable pace. The staff took our order and pastries were out quite quickly. Honestly, the coffee is what slows down most orders due to the care put into each drink individually. I enjoyed a matcha red bean croissant which was Instagram worthy as well as fresh from the oven pecan sticky buns (yum!) And the almond peach scone. If you have time to wait, I would highly recommend!

Yelp
I went here while on vacation and was so excited that there was nonline! We went around 10 am on a saturday and only waited about 10 minutes! There were so many options! We got the chocolate cube, biscoff wheel, strawberry croissant, strawberry/rhubarb pastey, lemon cake, pan au chocolat (there are 7 of us). Everything was amazing! We also got an espresso and an iced coffee, which were delicious, very reminiscent of European style coffees! The service was friendly and quick as well! I would definitely go back! Side note: the filled pastries are a bit messy to eat. Dont forget the napkins!!! And i would recommend eating them outside!

Yelp
The short: I waited over an hour from start to finish. The food IS delicious. My friend and I got in line at 10:20AM on a Sunday morning. Luckily it was sunny, because it was a looooong wait. By the time we finally made it into the shop, placed our order, and received our food/drinks it was 11:30AM. We were super hungry but we knew this would be the case, so we were patient. Our drinks (my friend got a large Thai Tea Latte and I got a black coffee) were fine. The pastries were amazing! I was disappointed they did NOT have those super cool looking cube or wheel croissants. I don't think they were on the menu at all today. They had a sign on the front that said "4 specialty croissants per customer". The specialty croissants of the day were: strawberry, lemon merengue (with real merengue piled on top), tiramisu, and boston cream pie. They were out of plain chocolate croissants and the specialty strawberry ones by the time we ordered. Across the both of us, my friend and ordered: - tiramisu croissant (creamy, chocolately, great) - butter croissant (classic! can't go wrong) - cardamom bun (delicious flavor, a bit dry) - roasted tomato danish (5/5) - pear almond scone (too heavy on sugar and almond extract. also the texture was too cakey - I like a more crumbly scone) - ham and cheese croissant (TRANSCENDENT) So, I would come back...on a weekday. And I would not hope for the cube croissants because I'm just not sure if they ever carry them at this location.

Yelp
Love this patisserie Any chance I get to snag a cheddar biscuit I'm there! The hype is definitely worth it and if you can't be patient enough to wait this is not the shop for you.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday around noon and there wasn't a line. Got 4 of their specialty croissants (pumpkin, pistachio, blueberry, chair) which are around $11 each with taxes. The croissants were a little dry imo and not as flaky as I usually prefer. The flavor and fillings were good and not too decadent. would recommend sharing because the croissants are p big. Also wished they didn't use food coloring for some of the croissants like the pumpkin and pistachio ones. I would come back to try other flavors or maybe try the Newton location. Overall p good and more of a special occasion typa thing.

Yelp
Their customer service is waaaaaay nicer than Newton, the ladies here are lifesavers.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot in Brookline's Coolidge Corner. A tiny cafe with a lot to say -beautifully crafted croissants and gourmet croissants and other Parisian inspired desserts. I'd recommend the chocolate croissant cube to share with a loved one! Fresh baked daily and lots of love in the ingredients. Friendly and patient staff, nice stop on weekends.

Yelp
This place is popping on weekends for their specialty croissants. I got there at 9:30am and waited 30min! There is a limit of 4 specialty croissants per person and they go QUICK!! The croissants are MASSIVE so make sure you share (or not)! There was a lot of street parking or you can park at the big lot at Coolidge Corner behind the CVS/Maruichi.

Yelp
Recently placed a large order for our wedding with the manager ( in Brookline) to be picked up on our wedding day. Went back a 2nd time to reconfirm with the same manager and was told that everything would be ready to pick up the morning of our wedding. We offered to pay in advance, but he insisted on our paying upon pickup. We show up the morning of our wedding and no one has prepared our order, with seemingly no record of it. The manager wasn't there, so his young employees slowly assembled what we now had to reorder. After 20 minutes we had most of what we had initially ordered. Even so the pastries were packed in a disheveled manner, damaging the pastries en route to our wedding. The staff was disinterested at best, but did call the manager, who was basically unavailable to help us at this point. We were going to let this go, as we are now happily married and decided that we would never return anyway, but this kind of "service" was terrible and ultimately insulting. Buyers beware! Update! I very quickly heard back from the manager. He was very apologetic and took complete blame for the mistake he made. He obviously felt bad for us and the bakery's reputation, which I can appreciate. He refunded our money for the large purchase we made, which is exceptional customer service. I myself have forgiven the situation and will be back to support this local business, but my wife is still upset unfortunately, as the stress of the mistake affected her greatly that morning and carried into our wedding day. I appreciate the swift apology and remedy of the manager very much!

Yelp
Lakon's pastries are not only beautiful, but delicious. The strawberry banana croissant had the perfect flavor - not overwhelming the croissant but making it the right level of sweetness. The croissant was flaky, and warm. The coffee was good too. Kind cashiers and great indoor seating.

Yelp
I found Lakon through Instagram when I saw pictures of some of the cross-sections of their croissants. And I'm glad to say that picking up some of the pastries at the store did not disappoint. I tried the pistachio croissant and pumpkin spice croissant. Both pastries were filled with a delicious cream. They were buttery and flakey after heating them up in the oven. They'd pair well with a cup of coffee or a warm drink. The croissants are certainly on the pricey end for pastries but I'd return to try some of the other pastries in the future.

Yelp
The moment I heard Lakon Patissiere opened a second location in Brookline, I knew I had to finally try it out. My friend and I started to line up a little before they opened at 8am on Saturday and got our goodies in about an hour. The ordering process was really quick as the cashier was very efficient about it. We did have to wait a bit for them to call our names after packing up our dessert, but it was not more than a 5-10-minute wait inside the store. We got a selection of pastries including the Thai Tea Croissant, Pistachio Croissant, Milk Cream Cube, Monkey Bread, Spinach Feta Danish, Roasted Tomato Danish, Basque Cheesecake, and Chocolate Éclair. We also ordered two drinks, their hot Rose Milk Tea and hot Thai Milk Tea. Their rose milk tea was not bad. You can definitely taste the rose flavor, but it was more like rose milk rather than rose milk tea. I have definitely had better from Grace Street in NY. The Thai Milk Tea was extremely weak. The flavor of Thai tea was barely prevalent in the drink, so it was probably one of the most disappointing Thai teas I have had, especially with how expensive it was. Now, the best pastries out of everything I got were the roasted tomato danish and pistachio croissant. The spinach feta danish was quite disappointing as it tasted watery and just mediocre. The roasted tomato danish, on the other hand, was amazing. It was savory and just so satisfying with each bite filled with cream and cheese. The Monkey bread was alright; it was light and had the right amount of sweetness to it. The chocolate éclair had chocolate cream inside as well, which made it slightly too heavy to eat. The filling in the Thai tea croissant was too bitter for my liking. I also found the croissant too dry in comparison to the pistachio one. The filling and the frosting on the pistachio croissant were amazing. It had the right amount of sweetness while also still having a fluffy texture, so I greatly enjoyed this one. The milk cream cube filling tasted mainly of condensed milk, so it was also alright, but not something I would get again. Is it worth an hour wait? Not really, but I understand that the demand is high, and they are trying their best to serve the crowd. I would come back here on a weekday to try their other regular pastries or to get the roasted tomato danish again.

Yelp
***IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OF ANY KIND DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!*** I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE who has allergies or anyone at this point. I ordered the honeycomb pastry and the chai cube croissants, and SPECIFICALLY asked if they contained nuts. The cashier went back and asked, and one of the bakers told him no (which I saw!! I saw them say no!!!!!!) which he communicated to me. So imagine my surprise when I begin eating the honeycomb croissant and immediately SEE AND TASTE NUTS on top and a nut butter inside. My partner has a SEVERE nut allergy. Like, are you joking me? I luckily stopped him right before he ate too much of it, but he had already ate some. This is an extreme liability and now I'm worried about my partner's health because he ate some before I realized. When I called, they seemed to think it was an accident. Which would be an entirely different thing if one pastry accidentally got another allergen ingredient not typically in it. But then the woman on the phone went and asked and she said "I'm so sorry they must have misunderstood you or didn't realize/know" or some bull. They gave me a refund but this is completely unacceptable. When I told them that they need signage or SOME indication of potential allergens in the pastries, all the woman on the phone said was "I understand your frustration." I am BEYOND furious. I am livid. I'm only not cursing because this is a public forum. Nut allergies are one of the most common allergies, and there was NO signage or indication that any of their pastries may contain nuts or other allergens. All they had was a sign at the front asking customers to let their server know if anyone in your party has allergens WHICH IS WHY I ASKED. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN, AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER. THEY ARE A FOOD SERVICE, AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S IN THEIR FOOD. If you don't know what's in what you serve, you shouldn't be service it for food hazard and safety issues.
