Drove a few times from RI specifically to this bakery. They are running of many items very quickly. Glad that we can order some items prior and pick up on weekends. A bit on expensive side. The special croissants are great! Love their pastries too, not crazy about their cinnamon buns. Would be nice if they add more layered pastries like opera cake that offer more texture.

Friends have graciously shared with me during a quick visit to Boston. It is so delicious!!! The flakiness of the pastries and the perfect capture of savory and sweet still stays with me. They certainly specialize in croissants! Although I haven’t walked in here in person, the packaging of the pastries speaks to the elegance and care that is put into baking these pastries! I’ve been so blessed!

This place is an absolute gem. We ordered a pistachio mascarpone croissant and monkey bread with double espressos. The croissant was absolute perfection! It was incredibly beautiful, with flavor to match. Delicate and rich, without being overly sweet. The monkey bread was delicious as well, though the croissant was definitely the star of the show.

Went there for the strawberry cheesecake croissant, they didn't have it or any really good options. They have a seasonal menu apparently and we did go around 2pm and it was just what they had left. The passion fruit eclair wasn't great, and it was stale. We got the strawberry shortcake and it seemed to be fresh, and it had real strawberries so it was pretty good. Small shop, pretty cute. It was just us in the shop so it was a little awkward with the silence of the employees. Overall, it was an ok experience. We may have just went too late in the day.

Got there early and it seems I just beat the crowd. Wanted to try everything in display, but had to calm myself.. Must try at any bakery is the plain butter croissant. $4.50 love the rich buttery flavor, texture however was dense rather than flakey crisp I was expecting. Pistachio croissant $9.50 heavenly pistachio creme fillings! Not overly sweet, just perfectly fluffy creme. Again the croissant seemed not as airy, perhaps it has to be heavier texture to complement all the glaze and nut toppings. Regardless it was our favorite of all we tried today. Hazelnut cube croissant $9.50 this from the photos intrigued me the most. Rich chocolate covered cube was more like a pains au chocolat than croissant. It sure was packed with rich decadent flavor but was it worth $9.50 price tag? Not quite sure. Basque cheesecake $9 creamy cheesecake with hint of sour note, but wish it were little more burnishy? Ham & cheese croissant $6 was perfect for breakfast with coffee. French roast coffee $3.25 Only 2 tables available for dining in. This location seems to work for takeout only, and parking is scarce.

The croissants here are absolutely excellent! Flaky and buttery, they’re such a treat. The espresso drinks are also very high quality and well prepared. The place definitely gets busy, but the line moves fairly quickly nonetheless. Overall a wonderful cafe to enjoy a croissant and cappuccino!

They were out of all the flavors I wanted to try but that’s okay! I think the pastry would be good warmed up—I just went later in the day so that may have been why.

Wow these croissants are amazing and I can see why they are viral. Ttied the chocolate hazelnut cube, pistachio, chocolate and egg croissants. We got there 5 minutes before it opened on a Saturday and there was already a line. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors.

10/10!!! Can't say it enough. At first I thought this place was all hype. But then I was proved wrong. We got black cherry, egg nog, and pistachio croissants. And the Lychee rose raspberry macaron. Croissants- Black Cherry- was a solid 8/10 was not as sweet which is great! And the cherry flavor was the perfect amount of tart. Also felt like the actual croissant was a little burnt. Pistachio- 9/10 the pistachio taste was strong! The croissant was perfectly crisp and buttery Egg Nog- 7/10 tasted more like regular vanilla but the croissant was good! The decor on it was super cute and on point for the holidays The lychee rose raspberry macaron was a solid 9/10. Tasted amazing. Each piece of it tasted exactly what the name described. The macaron top and bottom were rose flavored. The pink cream was raspberry flavored and the white cream was lychee flavored! The inside was cute! Also very busy but super normal for the holidays. The cashier was super nice and was not affected by how busy it was.

Been going to this place for so long already before it blows up on instagram. A place for "high end" pastries with a variety of asian influenced flavors. Croissants are flakey and buttery but the fillings inside are too much for me - I can never finish one. I love their coffee! A little too expensive to be a regular coffee and pastry spot tho. -7/10

I haven't been to Lakon in years. The shop still looks charming and clean inside. One thing about Lakon is that everything looks beautiful. However the quality has changed. The rose jelly inside the rose mousse was terrible. It was so overpowering which left a bitter aftertaste. Thought I was inhaling rose perfume. The coconut mango passion fruit mousse was okay. There was a subtle mango taste with the jelly but I didn't taste any passion fruit. The mousse had a nice airy and soft texture. Coconut flavor was nonexistent. The praline Paris brest was overall very sweet. The cream was dense and heavy. All of the components did not complement each other because all I tasted was sweet dense cream. The choux pastry was the only good part. Carrot cake sponge was lovely. I loved the texture and being able to see and taste the plump raisins and walnuts. Just the right amount of cinnamon. The cream cheese frosting was too sweet and thick. There were definitely some misses with what I got. For the prices Lakon charged, I expected a better product.

Decadent and beautiful French pastries that you have to take a photo of before eating! I came here last weekend with some friends and and there was a short line outside the bakery, but the line moved fast. The bakery is small with only 2 small tables that fit 2-3 people. Pistachio croissant: layers of green pistachio in the croissant with a nice ratio of pistachio cream filling and some pistachio sprinkled on top Hazelnut cube croissant: cubed croissant was crunchier/harder than a typical croissant filled with a good amount of smooth chocolate cream. The top of the cube had this rich chocolate ganache with toasted hazelnuts. Butter croissant: crispy, flakey, buttery and airy. Perfect classic croissant Ham and cheese croissant: crispy and buttery croissant with some cheese and ham. There was very little ham and cheese.. so little that my friend thought it was a cheese croissant. Wish there was more ham and cheese, but not sure if it would ruin the texture of the croissant Probably not something you should eat all the time because of all the cals and $ .. but definitely a nice treat.

Went here with a group of three. I got an iced rose tea and a pistachio mascarpone croissant. The croissant is extremely large and had a great balance of pistachio and mascarpone flavor. The way the croissant is structured, the inside of it has the filling that is a mix of mascarpone and pistachio - the green on the outside is not the primary source of pistachio. The rose drink great, however, it was larger than I needed. There are around 2 tables on the inside of the bakery, so we were lucky to be there at a less-busy time so we were able to sit. Would definitely return to try some of their other specialties.

I went to this patisseries strictly for their very cool cubed croissant that reminds me of Agha's cubed art installation called "Intersections" at the Peabody Museum. But can you really pick up just one pastry? Absolutely not, which is why I picked up a chocolate cube croissant and a classic croissant. I also picked up a couple of cubed croissants for a dear friend and her husband to liven up their breakfast. Once home, handling the cubed croissant was fun. You could see all the layers on each side of the cube and it smelled liked a classic croissant but classic it was note. After being sliced at an angle to make two 3D triangles, I was able to enjoy the flaky inside. The outside wasn't soft but what do you expect when it's been compressed/expanded into some medieval cube torture device? Fun to eat, especially with your favorite coffee or espresso. I also devoured the flaky buttery classic croissant.

I tried to hit both Salt in Newton Center and Lakon Paris in Newton Highlands one summer week day, but the early lunch crowd had already arrived at Salt. Lakon, however, had a pair of customers settled at the table out front and a single customer within. Signs on the door stated Face Masks are Optional (in other words, the staff isn't masked), and Please Only 3 People at a Time (when I turned to leave with my order, I discovered that I was surrounded by a party of three ladies, and that the customer preceding me was still handling her order on the side). They were low on certain items and I spied a few empty platters. The interesting looking butter cube croissant $6.50 was described as denser and more bready, so I opted for the Apricot Almond Croissant $7.50 ($8.03 after tax), which was filled with apricot jam and almond cream. It felt hefty in the bag, so I weighed it at home - 10.1 oz. It was good, but a bit sweet, so we enjoyed it more in smaller portions. I appreciated that there was actual visible fruit when I took a peek beneath the top half. 3.5 stars on this visit.

My partner and I visited Lakon's Brookline location once before but were too late for croissants. Glad we were able to get a strawberry cheesecake croissant and creme brûlée croissant in Newton this time - TASTE: 4/5 - the strawberry cheesecake was the star, w dried strawberries on top and a filling of cream plus sweet strawberry jam. The crème brûlée, filled w vanilla bean pastry cream, was alright in comparison TEXTURE: 5/5 - the crème brûlée croissant was extra crisp because of its caramelized sugar glaze. Both croissants had a nice balance of flaky and buttery softness w creamy filling. Would come back to try the cube and ring croissants too PRICE: 4/5 - $8.50 for each of these speciality croissants, so definitely a treat to splurge on SERVING SIZE: 5/5 - the croissants were larger than I expected and generous w the filling SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 1pm on a Sunday, and nothing was sold out yet, phew. There were only a couple folks in front of us in line, and it moved quickly ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - a bright and small space w a couple tables and chairs inside. Food: I would typically get a hot oatmilk rose latte on my way to work here, their coffees are pretty good. I've never actually bought a pastry there myself, but I've had some at my office - they were pretty good if you want a sweet treat. I love the pink colors lol, I definitely could indulge in them (yikes). Service: The coffee is pretty fast, even in the morning when it's busy at 8-9 am. Ambiance: Store is small, but it's in a lovely area of Newton. So many stores and fun things to-do around that area!

Small shop that quickly went from overlooked underdog to the darling of the greater Boston croissant scene. There's a couple small tables inside (a relatively recent development) and about a half dozen outside. Pain au Chocolate: Quite simply the best chocolate croissant I've ever had. From summer 2022 to early spring 2023, they were a sure thing for being slightly warm to downright hot at opening, with a buttery, fluffy consistency, great flavor, and the all-important crackle that leaves croissant shrapnel on your lap. A perfect croissant with plenty of chocolate, often melty. The only possible improvement would be a darker chocolate, but that's subjective. Then the Brookline expansion was announced and the influencers took note. The lines got longer and the product took a bit of a hit: still very good, but definitely a noticeable step down from peak. Still the best chocolate croissant, and one that's better than everybody else's ALMOST every time. Just not EVERY time like in its heyday. The bicolor chocolate croissant is very similar, but with extra chocolate trim. Also great.   Almond Croissant: Sandwich method with filling in the middle. Good crunch and plenty of slivered almonds on top. Another must.   Pain Au Raisins: Always good, sometimes great, sometimes slightly dry. Good flavor in the dough with light crunch. Plain (Butter) Croissant: Simplicity with good flavor and texture. Fluffy and buttery.   Specialty Croissants: These are the shiny objects attracting the influencers and media attention. My opinion? They're good, sometimes very good, sometimes great, but a bit overrated. The dough is sometimes dry and the creations seem more dependent on bombast than quality. Again, subjective, but definitely worth a try.   Chocolate Cube Croissant: Lots of luscious chocolate outside, much firmer croissant dough (you'll need a knife to cut it), and chocolate cream oozing out the inside. Don't eat this in your car unless you have a spare pair of pants handy. Ring Croissants: Chocolate, Caramel, Strawberry, all nicely conceived and executed. Firmer, drier dough mitigated by rich flavors on the toppings and creaminess in the fillings. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Croissant: Fabulous mash-up that's basically a chocolate croissant covered with a chocolate chip cookie, with dough that's much softer and much richer. The chocolate melts and leaks (not that it's a bad thing) and the flavor in the two doughs is outstanding. Chocolate Eclair: Kinda bland. Kinda off. Didn't do it for me. Brioche Bun: A cinnamon bun often still warm, with melty white icing. Soft, yielding dough and cinnamon flavor. This is one of those items that's best eaten and finished right away; other items store better. Chocolate Chip Cookie: One of the best. Thick, hockey-puck-shaped vessel with good butteriness and good flavor to the dough. Ample chocolate in both chips and ripples. Bendable and delicious, same day or even next. Tarts: Not really their thing. If tarts are your thing, I'd suggest Praliné in Belmont or Cambridge. But Lakon's lemon tart was very good, with the right textures in all aspects and an eggy flavor enriching the lemon.

My friend and I arrived around 30min before opening on a weekend morning and saw that there was already a huge line. The bakery is very small with no places to sit. You just stand in line, get your pastries and leave. There is limited seating outside. We ordered the tiramisu, matcha, and milk cream croissants - they were all very delicious and not too sweet. They are quite expensive for pastries, but it never hurts to treat yourself occasionally. Overall, we had a great experience and will return for more croissants in the future.

Lakon blew up on IG and tiktok and I understand why... but am I salty that now I have to wait in line? Yes. They definitely sell out, so come early and line up. The croissants are incredible. I love the incorporation of Asian flavors - I've had the matcha, red bean, and tiramisu croissant. All are flavorful and stuffed with cream inside. The red bean flavor really shined- which is hard to achieve IMO. Combined with the extreme flakiness of the croissant, 10/10 would line up again and well worth the price. I've also had their opera cake which was amazing as well. They are pretty expensive- at ~9$ per croissant, it'll be a once in a while treat. Their coffee (lattes) isn't too great though- it wasn't strong enough and overall very milky.

I know that this place has been getting hyped up recently but let me just say, I totally get the hype. I waited 40 min in line over the weekend (which the cashier said was shorter than normal haha) and my friend and I got the strawberry cheesecake croissant, ham and cheese, matcha latte, and chai latte. The strawberry croissant was beautiful and surprisingly not as sweet as I expected it to be and wow the pink layers of flaky goodness inside!! I'm not even a cheesecake fan but I loved it! And THE HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT STOP. I wanted to eat that as my breakfast for the next couple of months but alas my half was gone in like 5 bites. It was the perfect balance of gooey cheese and ham with an equally as flaky and crisp consistency. I don't know how I could ever go back to a regular ham and cheese now! The drinks on the other hand were more on the subpar end. As a chai connoisseur, I have high standards for what I'm looking for and while it was sweet, both drinks tended to be more on the overly milky side which really drowned out the flavor. Overall, I definitely want to go back to try their other croissant flavors! Tip: their more exclusive flavors only appear on the weekend and I would get there on the earlier side because they close when they sell out!

Food was good, very filling. From what they charged I think they can afford to get a bigger store with dining area. There was no place to sit especially we came from an hour away.

Visited to the store Sunday morning around 9 and there was free street parking and no line. The milk cream croissant cube was delicious. The cream was very light, not too sweet, and pairs perfectly with the crispy & crunchy outer croissant shell. The best- would come back to Boston just for this. The matcha croissant was okay but the flavors were not as well paired as the milk cream cube in my opinion. The croissant itself is a work of art and looks perfect from every angle but I would not get this particular flavor again.

Great selection of cute cakes and pastries at the store. Though I've only tried their cakes so far, I must say that they pair pretty well with their house coffee - especially the opera cake being as rich as it is. As for the mousse cakes, they are pretty aesthetically pleasing and light, with the coconut mango mousse being on the refreshing side with its tart sweetness. All in all, the service was pretty friendly and straightforward. I would definitely like to come back one day to try more!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, and I finally got around to it on a Sunday morning in December. I arrived at around 8:20 AM, and there was only one person in front of me in line, but others had walked out just before I walked in, and there was a constant flow of customers while I sat outside for a few minutes after my purchase. It's a small storefront, but the employees kept it moving well. I have to say, the display of baked goods early in the morning was like what dreams are made of. There were piles and piles of croissants. I was a bit overwhelmed (as I wanted to try everything,) but I reeled it in and got a small assortment of items. My favorite thing was the Brioche Cinnamon Roll. The brioche was so fluffy, and the icing was gooey. It was delicious. As far as the specialty croissants go, I think I finally made it to the storefront at a point where they had been over-hyped for so long. I tried the Hazelnut Cube Croissant, the Banana Caramel Ring Croissant, and I gifted my friend the New Years Strawberry Champagne Croissant. I thought the Hazelnut Cube Croissant and the Banana Caramel Ring Croissant were ok, but my friend said that the New Years Croissant was amazing. My favorite of the croissants was actually the Bacon & Egg Savory one. I didn't expect that to be my favorite, but it snuck up on me. Even though I expected more from the specialty croissants, I'd be willing to give them another try when they rotate flavors. I still want to believe the hype.

When my sister-in-law found out I loved croissants she asked me if I wanted to go here. Matcha. Red. Bean. CROISSANT? Say what? There was no way I could resist those words put together. I love french food, croissants and baguettes at the top of my favorite baked goods from France. In San Diego there are some traditional French bakeries that have brought their perfectly flaky almond croissants but matcha red bean croissants is something I cannot get there. My sister-in-law told me that it was owned by a Thai woman educated by the French cooking school and that intrigued me. They only have croissants on the weekend, so if you want these croissants, check them out on the weekend and - GO EARLY! We left around 8:30 Saturday morning to go and grab some croissants. After arriving there I was overwhelmed by the many options. All kinds of different flavors, plus uniquely shapped croissants, in addition to the more traditional baked goods were available for our choosing. In the display case a huge amount of opera cakes, eclairs and other delicious cakes were making eyes at me. But, I resisted. However, since a trip to this place is extremely expensive from San Diego, I decided to grab three croissants. Matcha red bean (of course), pecan, and tiramisu. And since we didn't want my nephews to be left out due to their many allergies (eggs, dairy and nuts), we grabbed their only vegan dessert - the strawberry shortcake opera cake. These suckers are HUGE. I took a photo using my hand to scale. From wrist to end of my middle finger is about 6 1/2 inches. The croissant is slightly bigger than that. Luckily I split all three with my brother and my sister-in-law but even so, could only handle just eating one the first night, and the last one the second. If I had to eat one all on my own I probably would have burst. The matcha-red bean croissant was my absolute favorite, but that's not surprising as I'm a die hard fan of matcha red bean. My brother and my sister-in-law thought the tiramisu might have been better than the matcha-red bean one andthey also thought the pecan croissant tasted better than they had expected. Which was surprising since going in, their favorite was matcha-red bean. Just tells me that we shouldn't be afraid of trying new flavors/different dishes even when we think we've found "the one" at an establishment! The flavors for each were not overly sweet, and have a balanced amount of custard/filling. The croissant was nice and flaky that I made a sufficient mess with bits of croissant all over the table. It's too bad I can't come back to try all the other croissants! I'd be curious what the others taste like. Now the strawberry shortcake - was absolutely beautiful with the golden flakes. My poor nephews hadn't ever really had a proper cake due to their allergies (eggs, dairy, nuts), so it was a treat to watch them eat this very fancy cake. And they absolutely LOVED it. In fact, to say that is an understatement. None of us tried taking a bite to see how it compares to a regular cake, but it was so satisfying for me to watch how much they enjoyed eating this. They loved the cream on top, cake then filling in that order. (I'm sure we're missing some other layers too, but it was in their words :)) Please keep this in stock whenever you can. Service was nice and quick and friendly, so I have nothing to comment there. Just as one would expect.

Was in the mood for a fancy croissant when I had some free time in Brookline recently and came here after hearing good things. Location is easy to access, right in front of the C line and there is metered street parking as well. The space is beautiful and inviting, but small, so pastries are meant to be taken to go as there is no seating. I ordered a sweet and a savory option and was not disappointed. The croissants were almost too pretty to eat but I managed to overcome that. My only regret was not ordering more for later! A great spot to grab some pastries, would definitely impress anyone you brought them to.

There's a lot of hype around Lakon and I wasn't going to wait in line. Came around 3 pm on a Saturday and there was no line and several types of croissants left, I asked which the employee recommended and she said the crème brûlée. It was an investment for $8.50 although it was large. It looked great due to being completely covered with the shiny clear sugar shell that's on top of traditional brûlée (burnt sugar). It was stuffed with the crème and was so large and hard on the outside that it was not easy to take a bite of! I managed, and it was quite tasty but it was hard to really isolate the croissant itself and for that reason I'd recommend going with a more basic option ($4.50) Small shop with friendly employees.

I visit pretty often, so I've seen good and poor experiences here. The pastries are expensive, and if they're fresh they're often good. I've been in multiple times when I've gotten "day olds" that weren't marked and nobody informed me of that. Last week I got what I thought was the last of their fresh made danishes for the day, instead I got a day old that was hard as a rock and inedible. After I tried to take a few bites of my $8 danish I had to toss it.

This is a super cute little bakery with tasty treats! If you want to try something here, make sure to come early. I first found out about them through their Instagram for their specialty ring croissants. I didn't realize that the specialty croissants were available only on weekends when I walked-in on a Thursday morning! I figured I would get another pastry item, but almost everything was sold out at 10am! They were making croissants for 11am, but I was in a rush and didn't have time to wait. The folks working there were super friendly and service was amazing. They gave us recommendations as to what to get and what were their popular specialty croissants. Since I made the drive to Newton anyways, I decided to get something from here the first time. I got a latte (that was slightly above average, but wouldn't get again) and a carrot cake. I really liked the carrot cake as the cream wasn't too sweet and the cake itself was soft and moist. The next day, I decided to place an order to reserve their specialty croissants. I just called them and the lady on the phone was super kind and quickly took my order. Something I will note is that I had no idea the price of these croissants until AFTER I paid; I'm sure I could've asked but I figured I would treat myself regardless. They ended up ranging from $7.50 to $9 but these croissants are gigantic. These croissants were super flavorful and tasty. Their ring croissants ($9/each) were really good and are what caught my eye on Instagram. I don't think I would get them again, but they were incredibly beautiful. I wouldn't get them again because I actually preferred their other speciality croissants! I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake croissant ($8). It had two fillings in it, a strawberry jam/jelly and a cream cheese. They blended very well together and wasn't overly sweet or overwhelming in terms of textures or flavors. The tiramisu croissant was also good; their filling was delicious. All the croissants were very messy to eat -- they are definitely a knife and fork sort of dish because there is so much cream. I didn't try the fruit tart croissant ($7.50) but my friend said it was amazing and flakey. Overall, I would definitely come here again for their speciality croissant if I want an extravagant dessert to treat myself. However, I'd love to try their basics as I imagine if they can make something sweet so delicious, their plain butter croissant is probably out of this world. Definitely recommend coming here and trying any of their yummy pastries! Be aware that there's no indoor seating but there are benches and small tables outdoors. I look forward to coming back soon :)

We went today during Veterans Day around 1-1:30. There wasn't much to pick so we just picked a couple of things. All of the pastries are just ok. I think the eclair was in the fridge for a while because it has a refrigerator taste to it. The rose looked really pretty but most of the whole thing was cream. The carrot cake was ok. We also got a lemon macaron and the bill came to $26 something. All of these pastries were subpar but apparently their croissant is good. They don't sell it on weekdays so we are planning to go on a weekend to try those out and update.

The croissants aren't fresh. $45 and 45 minute wait because my grandmother wanted to try this place but could never stand in line. Pasteries were Meh at best. One extra star because they will look good sitting in my fridge like rocks. Specifically, The plain croissant was a rock, the tiramisu was dusted with a horrible chocolate that made me feel like I was doing the cinnamon challenge all over again, Also stale and filled with a horrible cream the square cream filled travesty was a block of cheese wrapped in a wet sponge. I gave away the matcha BS to the neighbors I dont like. Plus I almost got in a fistfight with the entitled guy who bribed himself a spot in line in front of me (Not a joke) So bad.

I was super excited to stop by this place on our way to Boston. I've seen a lot of videos on Instagram and it looks delicious! It's a small, cute cafe with a lot of unique pastries flavors/designs. The people at the front were really friendly. I was a little disappointed because they didn't have several of the things shown on Instagram available for purchase which was the whole reason I stopped by. In the end I got the pistachio and Nutella banana croissants. The croissants themselves were huge and both stuffed with a filling and had some toppings as well. The pistachio was SO good. I loved how light the cream inside was, there were pieces of nuts on the top and it was a great bite. I'd definitely get it again 5/5. The Nutella banana was good but just too chocolatey for me. I thought there would be a little more banana aspect to it and the banana on top was like a dehydrated one so very crunchy. Which was good! I probably wouldn't get this one again. They had a lemon meringue one that I really wish I would have gotten and would get if I went back. It is pretty pricy for croissants but they are very decadent so fun for once in a while. Overall it was a good experience and I'd definitely come back. I am back to correct my earlier review: as I got further into the banana Nutella croissant I really did get more of a banana flavor and less Nutella so I ended up liking it much more after that. I still didn't love how chocolatey it was overall, but it was much better than I originally thought!

This is one of my goto bakeries around here. Best pain suisse in the area. Love the savory tomato onion danish. Croissants are crisps as you would expect from a top notch bakery.

Lakon Paris Patissierie is amazing! Definitely worth the wait. The first time I came here they were all sold out of croissants on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. I picked up the chocolate mousse cake as a very indulgent and honestly very delicious pick-me-up for not being able to try the croissants. I learned to come earlier the next time around, and got there around 8am. While in line, they handed out little cups of hot chocolate as it was a very cold morning. The store is definitely small, and I am excited to visit their new location in Brookline. There was music playing, lots of light coming through their glass windows, and it felt super cozy. Some seating though when the store is crowded, taking the pastries home might lend to a more enjoyable experience. I let my eyes buy more than my stomach, and these croissants would be a great addition to a brunch party! I ordered four speciality croissants. I also ordered the regular croissant, chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and if I remember correctly a ham and cheese croissant. I could easily inhale these four. When it comes to the specialty croissants, they are definitely a sweeter and heavier experience-- and well worth it. Overall, I am so happy that I had the chance to try many flavors and I am looking forward to trying even more croissants from Lakon!

Fam, in what universe would anyone rate this place less than 5 stars? They have a mind blowing number of options to suit anyone's craving. Often times quality suffers when a restaurant offers so many options. Not here. Everything is made with such care and attention to detail. The other thing I love about this place is they are always keeping it fresh by using their creativity to create new delicious offerings. Their whole operation is astounding to me and we are lucky to have this place so close to home.

Very busy bakery especially when they have their seasonal croissants but the process to order was very easy. We got two speciality crossiants and some other pastries. So pretty you don't want to eat them but so yummy! Strawberry one was my favorite!

Delicious, buttery, flaky croissants! Better than the ones in France! I always get the pain au chocolate, the chocolate inside is so decadent. If you're a chocolate lover I highly recommend their chocolate cube croissant. The filling is chocolate heaven! Can't wait to try some more different flavors

Arrived at 12:30pm on a Saturday. The baked good were almost all sold out other than the pan au chocolate. Reason behind the 1 star is that there's bugs ( looks like bees or wasps) hovering and loitering on the croissants. The people here did nothing to solve this problem and acted like it was never there or that it's normal for this. Did not try any of the food because of this.

Unsure why there is a long line and high rating? Got the matcha red bean croissant but it's stale and I don't think matcha is neon green color? The brownie chunks were dry in the pot. It's cute but it's not worth it. Red rose was ok but heavy on raspberry. The mango was overly sweet. If you're looking for unique design desserts for demise price point, I suggest going to the one on Newbury street.

I didn't try their little cakes and mousses since I had to be somewhere else right after but did pick up the chocolate croissant and the monkey bread - I went in there intent on fulfilling my mission to try all the croissants in the area but what do you know. The girl behind the counter really recommended the monkey bread. And I'm easily swayed in the face of carbs. Croissant was dense and flaky, butter-forward. Not the freshest (I look for a spray of crumbs when I bite down), as I came later in the afternoon, but I'm impressed that after being bundled in the paper bag for a good day and a half, the dough retained some nice chew. Chocolate was dark and nicely bitter. Monkey bread was just ... all right. I wanted a little more variation in flavor and texture (some more cinnamon? maybe some chopped walnuts or pecans?) - it reminded me of a slightly sweet dinner roll. Come here early for more variety. By the time I got there about an hour before closing, a lot of the stuff was already gone. Some street parking right out front (if you turn right on Columbus Street past Buttonwood, there are some 2-hour spots available).

A small spot with amazing pastries. One of the best spots to get croissants if any flavor - my favorite is the matcha red bean one. The pastries are so flaky and buttery! I love the kouign amann, even more so than the famous DKA. Everything is also very photo worthy. I am definitely coming back to try the cakes - they are so cute! There's no room to sit and eat, but outside has a few benches along the street and there's street parking right outside.

Really rich, really rich ~ pricey stuff, but you get what you pay for! The ham and cheese croissant pie (I forgot what they called it, but it was like a croissant, just not shaped like one) was utterly decadent, with some cheese and cream in the middle, with nicely flavored ham bits inside, topped with a gruyere (possibly? not sure here). The pastry was flaky, crumbly, just perfect! The pain au chocolat was excellent as well - nicely buttered, with just the right amount of inside chocolate filling. A few tables outside for sitting; not any sitting room inside. Go check out this place now!

It's so good but a massive pain in the bum. I don't love having to work so hard to buy $100+ in croissants. They are slow. They are a pain to get croissants and desserts from. It drives me crazy. And yet, I'm there at least 2-3 times a month (twice this weekend alone). It's that good. I do wish these people would stop shilling on Instagram though so I could have my neighborhood bakery back. This waiting in line for 1 hour is absolute garbage. (They are SO SLOW)

We arrived at 8am, there were already 10 people in front of us. The shop didn't opened until 8:20 but once they opened the line moved quickly. Our fav were pistachio and strawberry. The texture was soft, flaky and chewy. They were definitely more on the expensive side but it's worth it once in awhile.

Was excited to try out based on Instagram and their website. Arrived to a long line but that's to be expected. What wasn't expected was that after waiting for 45 minutes in the cold I arrived inside to see an empty display. There was a batch of monkey bread but I was told that was for tomorrow. A "sold out" sign was taped to the window on the inside. Note INSIDE. There were still many people waiting in line in the cold that would be waiting another 30+ minutes only to arrive to an empty display. Just because you have good product doesn't mean you shouldn't use common courtesy to your patrons sitting outside in the cold. Communicate what is actually available so people can make educated choices.

Pretty much the perfect patisserie experience. All their pastries are so artistic and decadent both in the taste and presentation. Loved that everything was so unique - where else are you going to find a squid ink croissant in newton! Also love the attention to detail and extra little touches - like doing homemade mayo on the BLT. My one quip was that the speciality coffee drinks did not match the quality of the pastries. The lattes are equivalent to what you would get in big chain coffee place with the prepackaged artificial sweeteners. Would have liked to see them pare down the drink menu and do some in house specialty syrups. Come early if you want choices or croissants. There's street parking out front and some tables outside but no indoor seating.

First time here and was not impressed. I heard good things from friends so I stopped by when I was in the area. When you first walk in it smells great but they were baking things for next day. It then makes me question is it really "fresh" if you are making stuff for the next day in the afternoon of the previous day? Got here about 2 hrs before they close and they basically sold out of everything. As a customer, I can see all the croissants sitting in the back and you tell me it is not available to the next day is disappointing. Not a fan of fake generated hype. Failing to plan is planning to fail. It is not super busy inside either so I'm confused why things are "sold out". I settled for the matcha tiramisu that they had left. It was decent but just not feeling the overall vibes here.

Super overhyped & overpriced. Got here at 7:30am right after opening and got a cube and strawberry cheesecake croissant. Both were SUPER dry and not fresh. Tasted days old & got food poisoning. Flavor was not good either.

The croissants here I tried, the almond croissant and ham and cheese croissant, were 2 of the best of their types I've tried in my life. They were both so flaky and made to perfection. I always tend to order almond croissants at bakeries but today's was nice and big and extra crunchy outside with soft oozy ganache inside. I will return here just purely for this. If it were for the bakery items, this place would be a 5/5 for me. The only reason I knocked down a star is because the iced latte was subpar for me. I'm not that picky usually but the drink was very bitter for my taste. I probably won't order this next time and hope Lakon Paris and tweak their latte a bit.

Yummy and super cute stuff! It is a small cafe on a cute street and was lowkey crowded when we got there at 10:30 am sunday. Kinda expensive, but a fun experience

Food was excellent. Friendly service. Decent location. Takeaway-focused, very small shop. Worth a stop.

Presentation is beautiful! The rose cream, chocolate, & Pistachio Mascarpone Croissant are dry but still good if you make sure to have some cream in your bite. Almond, ham & cheese, croissant of the day were all great. Service is very slow. Only 3 employees working on a Sunday with no sense of urgency despite the very long line. One person packaging croissants, one taking orders at the register and the last preparing beverages.

What hasn't already been said about this wonderful bakery? Everything we have tried is amazing. It is our favorite Saturday morning indulgence.

Ok so I waited 1.5 hours for these croissants and I was afraid it would be a repeat of the Lafayette Bakery croissants (the viral tiktok circular croissants), but I was actually in love with the flavors. I got the Thai tea and the strawberry cheesecake and they were so good. I was surprised by how much the Thai tea croissant really tasted like Thai tea. You can only get 4 specialty croissants so by the time you get up there make sure to have your order ready. I got there around 8 and left around 9:30. Even my boyfriend who hates sweets said he would wait again to have their croissants

The best creative croissants I have ever had! So many flavors to choose from. A small coffee menu and some eclairs but really just recommend the croissants. Have both savory and sweet croissants. Parking is street and meters. Service is quick and efficient
